Stars Send Ritchie Back To Minors

News: Brett Ritchie was reassigned to AHL Texas on Thursday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: With the Stars preparing to welcome Valeri Nichushkin (hip) back into the lineup Thursday following the completion of his conditioning assignment, Brett Ritchie was at risk at losing out on a regular role with the big club. Rather than keeping him around to be a healthy scratch, Ritchie will instead have the opportunity to play on an every-game basis for the AHL squad, which will be looking to defend last season's Calder Cup title in the upcoming playoffs.

Ritchie Scores Again For Stars

News: Brett Ritchie had a goal and two shots through limited ice time in Tuesday's win over the Flyers.
Analysis: Brett Ritchie continues to have a quiet, but decent rookie campaign. He's still not getting regular enough ice time, or producing enough when he does get it, to merit serious fantasy consideration in most formats.

Ritchie Snaps Skid In Stars Loss

News: Brett Ritchie had an assist and one shot in Sunday's loss to the Wild.
Analysis: That assist snaps a streak of eight games without a point for the rookie. That skid came on the heels of him scoring three goals and an assist in his first six NHL games.

Stars Bring Back Ritchie From AHL

News: Brett Ritchie was recalled from AHL Texas on Saturday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: With the Stars losing three forwards (Tyler Seguin, Patrick Eaves, Ales Hemsky) to injury Friday and with another still under suspension (Antoine Roussel), Brett Ritchie will return to the parent club and immediately slot into the lineup for Saturday's game against the Avalanche. Roussel will be back for the Stars' following match, but with the other injured Stars likely looking at long-term absences, Ritchie could hold down a regular role for multiple games during this call-up period. The winger has contributed three goals and four points over his previous 10 games with the Stars this season.

Stars Reassign Ritchie To AHL

News: The Stars reassigned Brett Ritchie to AHL Texas on Wednesday.
Analysis: Brett Ritchie got in two games on this call-up. He finished with three shots, no points, an even plus/minus, and logged a paltry 8:56 of ice time in Tuesday's game against Boston.

Stars Recall Ritchie From AHL Texas

News: Brett Ritchie was recalled from AHL Texas on Thursday.
Analysis: Brett Ritchie was brought up to take the roster spot of Travis Moen (lower body), who landed on injured reserve. Ritchie was a little banged up when he was sent to Texas last weekend, but he is presumably healthy now. He will provide some forward depth in Moen's absence, though he's likely to be scratched on Thursday.

Stars Reassign Ritchie To AHL

News: Brett Ritchie was reassigned to AHL Texas on Sunday.
Analysis: Richie has been nursing an injury as of late, and hasn't played in any of the team's last three contests. He will now head back to AHL Texas, where he will receive more consistent playing time when healthy.

Stars' Ritchie To Sit Again Saturday

News: Brett Ritchie will be held out of Saturday's game against the Coyotes while he continues to nurse an undisclosed injury, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: While the Stars decided to activate Brett Ritchie from injured reserve Wednesday, his unavailability in the team's subsequent two games suggests he's not feeling 100 percent just yet. His next chance to play will come Tuesday against the Avalanche.

Ritchie Not Quite Ready For Stars

News: Despite being taken off IR and being called a game-time decision, it appears that Brett Ritchie will not play in Thursday's game versus the Senators, according to Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News.
Analysis: The good news is that he's close enough for the team to take him off IR. Expect him to suit up in on Saturday against the Jets.

Stars' Ritchie Game-Time Decision Thursday

News: Brett Ritchie (undisclosed) returned to practice with the Stars on Wednesday and will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Senators, according to Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News.
Analysis: Brett Ritchie practiced fully on Monday, but wasn't quite there on Tuesday. He was rotating in and out of the third line at Wednesday's practice and may be an option for Thursday, however. Check back on his status following the Stars' morning skate Thursday before activating him.

Stars Activate Ritchie From IR

News: Brett Ritchie (undisclosed) was activated from injured reserve Wednesday.
Analysis: Brett Ritchie's activation signals that the winger is now healthy, but it's still uncertain if he'll have a lineup spot waiting for him Thursday against the Senators. The return Tuesday of Patrick Eaves added another winger to the Stars' depth chart, which will force two of the team's forwards to head to the press box Thursday.

Stars' Ritchie Remains Out Tuesday

News: Brett Ritchie (undisclosed) will not return to the lineup Tuesday against the Canadiens.
Analysis: Brett Ritchie looked like he would slot back into the lineup after practicing fully Monday, but he didn't take part in regular line work during Tuesday's morning skate to suggest that he'll remain out. The Stars continue to list Ritchie on injured reserve, so the team will have to make a roster move in order to facilitate his return to active duty, which could come ahead of Thursday's game against the Senators.

Stars' Ritchie Cleared To Return

News: Brett Ritchie (undisclosed) is expected to return to action for Tuesday's game against the Canadiens, Mark Stepneski of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Brett Ritchie was forced to miss some time with an undisclosed injury that landed him on the injured reserve, but after some time off with the All-Star break he's good to go. The 21-year-old has four points through eight contests, and will play for the first time since Jan. 15. He'll likely be officially activated from IR after the Stars conduct their morning skate Tuesday.

Stars' Ritchie Expected Back After All-Star Game

News: Brett Ritchie (undisclosed) is expected to return following the All-Star break, Mark Stepneski of the Stars' official site reports.
Analysis: Brett Ritchie suffered the unknown injury in last Thursday's game against the Jets, with his placement on injured reserve putting him out past the All-Star break. It appears the injury is minor enough that the break will enough for him to return barring a setback.

Stars Place Ritchie (Undisclosed) On IR

News: Brett Ritchie (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Brett Ritchie suffered the injury in Thursday's loss to the Jets, though the severity remains unknown. In any case, by virtue of landing on IR, Ritchie will be out until after the All-Star break, missing at least the next three games for the Stars. To cover for his absence, the Stars recalled forward Curtis McKenzie from AHL Texas in a corresponding move.

Stars' Ritchie Nursing Undisclosed Injury

News: Brett Ritchie is dealing with an undisclosed injury and appears doubtful to play Saturday against the Capitals, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.
Analysis: All of Brett Ritchie, Trevor Daley, and Ales Hemsky sustained injuries in Thursday's loss to the Jets, but coach Lindy Ruff said only the latter would "probably" play Saturday. The Stars figure to reach a decision on Ritchie's availability when the team conducts its gameday skate Saturday morning.

Stars' Ritchie Scores Again

News: Brett Ritchie had a goal, five shots, and 19:58 of ice time in Saturday's loss to Colorado.
Analysis: The rookie forward is thriving in Dallas and getting increased responsibility. Saturday was the most ice time he's seen in his short career and his five shots was a career-high as well. In his six games this season he's pulled in three goals and an assist. If he continues to get top line minutes with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn, this level of production could continue.

Ritchie Joins Dallas' Top Line

News: Brett Ritchie will be joining Dallas' top line in Thursday's game, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Analysis: Brett Ritchie has played well since making his NHL debut this season. He has two goals and an assist in four games. He will be given the opportunity to push his production to the next level on an explosive line with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn.

Stars' Ritchie Scores For Second Straight Game

News: Brett Ritchie scored for the second straight game, had an assist, and was a plus-3 in Saturday's win over the Wild.
Analysis: Two NHL games, two NHL goals. That ain't too shabby. The 21-year-old has looked great in his first two career games, averaging 11:27 of ice time, recording a plus-4 rating, and firing four shots on goal. Currently skating on the fourth line, the youngster could be worth a look in some very deep leagues, but wait until he gets a top-six role before you add him in shallower formats.

Ritchie Gets Game-Winner For Stars In NHL Debut

News: The 21-year-old winger scored the game-winner in Wednesday's win over Arizona, his NHL debut.
Analysis: Brett Ritchie is a proven talent at the AHL level and is off to a good start in the NHL. He may not be a great bet for fantasy quite yet, but it's a situation worth keeping an eye on.

Stars Recall Ritchie From AHL Texas

News: Brett Ritchie was recalled from AHL Texas on Wednesday.
Analysis: Brett Ritchie will provide the Stars with offensive depth while several of their forwards deal with nagging injuries. He has 18 points in 22 games played in the minors so far this season.

Stars Send Ritchie To Minors

News: Brett Ritchie was assigned to AHL Texas on Wednesday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Along with Jyrki Jokipakka, Brett Ritchie was on of the Stars' two cuts Wednesday, as the team narrowed its roster down to 25 players. Ritchie tallied a respectable 22 goals and 26 assists over 68 games as a 20-year-old in the AHL last season. The former second-rounder might not be far away from seeing regular duty with the parent club.

Stars' Ritchie Absorbing Contact

News: Brett Ritchie (finger) shed his red no-contact jersey at Wednesday's practice, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.
Analysis: The news would seem to suggest that Brett Ritchie is no longer inhibited by the finger injury. While the Stars could still hold him out of Wednesday's exhibition against the Panthers as a precaution, he'll more than likely be back out there for Friday's tilt with the Lightning.

Stars' Ritchie Injures FInger

News: Brett Ritchie suffered a finger injury Saturday against the Hurricanes, Mark Stepneski of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Brett Ritchie will head to Dallas to get his finger checked out by a doctor, and is expected to miss the remainder of the NHL Prospects Tournament. The winger is just 21 years old, and was a productive member of AHL Texas last season in his first professional campaign. He racked up 22 goals and 26 assists in 68 games, and could get a look at the NHL level in 2014-15.
