Canadiens' Betts Out For Season Opener

News: Blair Betts will not play in Thursday's season opener against the Maple Leafs due to what is being classified as a lower body injury, Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Blair Betts, claimed off waivers just a day before, is reportedly dealing with a shoulder injury. Though that conflicts with his designation, as usual, further details were not made available. Betts' injury is not considered serious, so though he will not make his team debut in the regular season opener, he should be back on the ice relatively soon.

Habs Claim Betts Wednesday, In Lineup Thursday

News: Blair Betts, who was claimed by the Canadiens on Wednesday, will be in the lineup Thursday night when Montreal opens the season in Toronto, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Blair Betts will skate on the fourth line with Travis Moen and Yannick Weber. He gives Montreal some desperately needed size up the middle, as well as a good hand on face offs and capable of eating up minutes on the penalty kill.
