Boyes Nets Two Points For Panthers

News: Brad Boyes picked up a goal and an assist Tuesday, adding a plus-1 rating, four shots and two penalty minutes in a win over Colorado.
Analysis: A nice night for Brad Boyes, who doubled his point production on the season. All four of his points have come in the last three games, which is promising.

Panthers' Boyes Scored Lone Goal In OT Loss

News: Brad Boyes netted a rebound for his first goal of the season against the Capitals on Saturday.
Analysis: Although Brad Boyes started the game on the Panthers fourth line, he scored the only goal for the team on the power play and ended the night with 20:10 minutes of ice time leading all forwards. Boyes also had two shots on goal, two hits, and one blocked shot. This was Boyes best outing of the season and with the Panthers not generating much offence, expect them to put Boyes back in positions to succeed on the scoresheet.

Panthers' Boyes Moved Down To The Fourth Line

News: Brad Boyes was moved from the top line down to the fourth line in practice on Wednesday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Brad Boyes has gone pointless in the first three games of the season. He had three shots on goal with two penalty minutes in 16:16 minutes of ice time in his most recent game against Ottawa. The move to the fourth line would likely be accompanied by a decline in minutes and in the talent of the players Boys skates with, much to the detriment of his fantasy value.

Panthers' Boyes Gets Goal, Assist

News: Brad Boyes scored his team-leading 21st goal of the season and added an assist in Thursday night's win over Toronto.
Analysis: Brad Boyes has proven to be the Cats' top offseason pickup by far and was rewarded in early March with a contract extension. His 36 points this year are the most he's scored in a season since 2010-11, when he tallied 55.

Panthers' Boyes Back In Business

News: Brad Boyes (back) is slated to suit up Tuesday against the Flyers, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Brad Boyes, who missed the Panthers' last two games due to back spasms, checks back into the lineup with 20 goals (including two in his last three contests) and 34 points in 75 games to date.

Panthers' Boyes Out Again Friday

News: Brad Boyes is listed as an injured scratch due to back spasms Friday against the Flames.
Analysis: Brad Boyes will miss a second consecutive game but can still be considered day-to-day. Back spasms are rather unpredictable, so he can't be considered a sure thing to play again this season.

Panthers' Boyes Misses Practice

News: Brad Boyes (back) wasn't present for Thursday's practice, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: The Panthers will attempt to limit Brad Boyes' workload over the next few days while he recovers from the back injury he aggravated Tuesday night. He would seem unlikely to play Friday against the Flames.

Panthers' Boyes Leaves After Aggravating Back

News: Brad Boyes was removed from Tuesday's game against the Islanders after aggravating his back injury, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Brad Boyes was a game-time decision Tuesday, but ended up playing after receiving treatment from a chiropractor earlier in the day. However, his back quickly acted up in the first period, as he left after just five shifts and 3:17 TOI. He may need to rest a few games for the back issues to dissipate entirely.

Panthers' Boyes Will Play Tuesday

News: Brad Boyes (back) will play Tuesday against the Islanders, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Although Brad Boyes is probably not quite at 100 percent health, the Panthers felt comfortable enough using him after he was able to take part in pregame warmups without limitations. Look for him to occupy his usual spot on the top line.

Panthers' Boyes: Game-Time Decision Tuesday

News: Brad Boyes (back) is a game-time decision Tuesday against the Islanders, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Brad Boyes is dealing with a sore back and met with a chiropractor earlier in the day in an attempt to remedy the ailment. The Panthers should relay the winger's status for Tuesday during pregame warmups.

Boyes Keys Florida Rally

News: Brad Boyes scored the game-tying goal early in the third period and added an assist on the winning goal in Friday's 5-3 win over New Jersey.
Analysis: Brad Boyes has three points in the last two games and had gone quite some time without finding the back of the net. He's going to see scoring chances for Florida, he just won't have many two-point efforts.

Panthers' Boyes Re-Ups For Two Years

News: Brad Boyes re-signed with the Panthers on a two-year, $5.25 million extension Tuesday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
Analysis: Both sides had been trying to work out an extension for a few days already with Brad Boyes enjoying a nice season for the Panthers considering the modest price he came at during this past offseason. He has 17 goals and 11 assists over 59 games and will now stick along in South Florida a little bit longer as the team commences its rebuild.

Panthers' Boyes Tallies A Pair Of Goals

News: Brad Boyes scored twice of the team's four goals in Thursday night's 5-4 loss to Washington.
Analysis: It was a nice return from the break for Brad Boyes as he buried two rebounds to score his goals. He also paced the Panthers' forwards in ice time as he logged 20:52 minutes. Boyes will continue to see top-six minutes for the Cats going forward.

Boyes Pots 15th In Panthers' Loss

News: Brad Boyes scored the Panthers' only goal in their 4-1 loss to Columbus, Saturday night.
Analysis: Brad Boyes has put together a decent little hot streak as he now has three goals and an assist in his past four games. He is a decent pickup for those lacking forward depth.

Panthers' Boyes Scores In Loss

News: Brad Boyes scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: Brad Boyes now has a goal in each of his past two contests, after going scoreless for seven straight games. He'll look to continue this streak Thursday in Toronto.

Boyes Plays Hero For Panthers

News: Brad Boyes was the hero in Thursday night's 2-1 win, as he tallied the game-tying goal midway through the third period, then added the game-winning marker in the shootout.
Analysis: Brad Boyes has put together a nice little hot streak in his last five contests, with three goals and five assists. That's accounted for a nice improvement on his season scoring pace, and he could see a continued uptick as long as he sticks on the Panthers' top power-play unit.

Boyes Grabs Goal For Florida

News: Brad Boyes scored Floriday's only goal in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Rangers, giving him three points in the last two games.
Analysis: Brad Boyes has been quiet this season with 17 points through 39 contests but the goal was his 10th of the season, putting him on pace for one of his best seasons in several years. The Panthers won't score terribly often, but Boyes is expected to see top-six minutes in Florida.

Panthers' Boyes Scores Winning Goal In Return

News: Brad Boyes returned to the lineup Tuesday against the Red Wings and scored the game-winning goal in Florida's 3-2 shootout victory.
Analysis: Brad Boyes was back on the ice after being a healthy scratch for Sunday's loss to the Blackhawks, and the Panthers were glad to have someone with his level of shootout experience available. The goal was the 35th shootout score of his career, the most among active players.

Panthers' Boyes To Return To Lineup Tuesday

News: It looks like Brad Boyes will be back in the lineup Tuesday against the Red Wings, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: After he was a healthy scratch Sunday, Brad Boyes saw work on the fourth line with Shawn Matthias and Jesse Winchester at Tuesday's morning skate, an indication he'll be back in the lineup. Boyes has eight goals and five assists in 29 games this season.

Boyes Scores In Panthers' Loss

News: Brad Boyes scored his fifth goal of the season in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Lightning on Sunday night.
Analysis: Brad Boyes was skating with the healthy scratches on Saturday and was a surprise insertion into the Panthers' lineup on Sunday. The motivational tactic clearly worked, as Boyes made the most out of his 13:42 minutes of ice time by scoring on his only shot on net. He also added a goal in the shootout.

Florida's Boyes Continues Scoring

News: Brad Boyes scored twice in Florida's 6-3 win over Pittsburgh on Friday, also adding an assist. Boyes has at least one goal in each of the last three games.
Analysis: The move up to Florida's top line has suited the veteran winger well, as he's playing like it's the mid-2000's. He has 10 shots in the last three games and can be a decent source of scoring for most rosters; he's probably kicking around on your league's waiver wire and could be well worth a look.

Panthers' Boyes Scores First Of Season

News: Brad Boyes scored the Panthers' lone goal -- and his first of the season -- in Tuesday's loss to Philadelphia.
Analysis: Brad Boyes had gone without a point over the first two games, but he got off the schneid with the late-second-period marker.

Panthers' Boyes To Join Top Line

News: Brad Boyes will be a member of the Panthers' top line along with Jonathan Huberdeau and Aleksander Barkov to open the season, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Practically a senior citizen compared to Huberdeau, 20, and Barkov, 18, the 31-year-old Brad Boyes should nonetheless thrive working alongside two of the more talented young forwards in the NHL. A bearish market prevented Boyes from signing with a team until September, but he was fortunate to land on very fertile ground to match or surpass the 0.73 points per game he registered last season with the Islanders.

Panthers Sign Boyes To Contract

News: Brad Boyes signed a one-year contract with the Panthers on Saturday, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Brad Boyes was previously attending Panthers camp on a professional tryout basis. The 31-year-old registered 35 points in 48 games with the Islanders last season and figures to see close to the 18 minutes of ice time he received in 2012-13.
