Panthers' Boyes Scores Game-Winner Against Boston

News: Brad Boyes scored the game winning goal in Thursday's 4-2 victory over the Bruins.
Analysis: At 32, Brad Boyes has been a veteran presence on the youthful Panthers and while his scoring is off the rate he was a few years ago, his plus-10 rating is second among players still on the team. He's inked for one more year and should continue to help the rest of the team's young players develop while still providing a solid scoring punch on his own.

Panthers' Boyes Scores In Loss Tuesday

News: Brad Boyes scored an unassisted goal in Tuesday's loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: Brad Boyes reached the 36-point mark for the second straight season with his 13th goal of the season on Tuesday. Boyes isn't the same scorer he was a few years ago, when he scored 55 or more points three times in four seasons between 2007 and 2011, but Boyes can still provide a veteran presence. He has limited fantasy value as the Panthers come down the home stretch.

Panthers' Boyes Helps Out In Loss

News: Brad Boyes set up Jussi Jokinen's second-period goal in Tuesday's loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: Brad Boyes hasn't done much to gain much momentum as a fantasy commodity this season, but with 12 goals, 35 points, and a plus-9 rating over 71 games, he's been a perfectly serviceable depth forward for the Panthers. With the assist in Tuesday's loss, he's now reached the 35-point mark in all but one of his 10 full seasons in the NHL.

Panthers' Boyes Scores In Win On Sunday

News: Brad Boyes scored an unassisted goal in the Panthers' 4-3 win over the Lightning on Sunday.
Analysis: After a goalless month in February, Brad Boyes added his 11th of the season in the second period on Sunday. Coming off a three assist game, Boyes now has five points in his past four games. The 32-year-old also contributed two penalty minutes and a plus-1 plus/minus on the day. His plus-9 plus/minus is tops of players still on the team and could have value in the home-stretch of the season in deeper leagues.

Three Helpers For Cats' Boyes

News: Brad Boyes set up three goals in Saturday's 5-3 victory over the visiting Sabres.
Analysis: With the trio of apples, Brad Boyes is now back over the 0.5 points-per-game hump with 31 in 60 contests this season. Also, despite having not recorded a shot on goal in the last two games, he's sitting at 121 this year -- which amounts to an average of two per game -- so there's certainly value to be had here in many leagues. With that in mind, as long as you don't expect anything resembling the player that once potted 43 goals (2007-08) and 72 points (2008-09) with St. Louis, the 32-year-old should be able to help your team.

Panthers' Boyes Notches Two Assists

News: Brad Boyes collected a pair of assists in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: Brad Boyes is having one of his most productive stretches of the season as he's now got four points in four games after Monday's multi-point effort. The 32-year-old has just 24 points (10 goals) on the year though, so his fantasy upside is limited in most formats.

Panthers' Boyes Nabs Assist In Win

News: Brad Boyes picked up an assist in Thursday's win over the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: The 32-year-old hasn't scored frequently enough this season to make him an asset in anything more than deeper formats, but January has been his best month to date. He's notched four goals and three assists over 11 games.

Goal, Assist For Panthers' Boyes

News: Brad Boyes joined in the fun Friday, grabbing a goal and an assist in a thrilling 6-5 win over the Flames.
Analysis: Brad Boyes was one of nine (!) players to post a multi-point performance in this one, bringing his season total to eight goals and 18 points in the process. The Panthers are very much doing their scoring by committee, with their top six leading scorers lumped into the 18-24 point range, so we'd caution not to expect anything too prolific from the one-time 72-point man.

Panthers' Boyes Scores Game-Winner Friday

News: Brad Boyes scored the game-winning goal and had five shots on goal Friday against Buffalo.
Analysis: Brad Boyes now has seven goals and 16 points in 34 games, to go with a plus-one rating. Skating on the second line, the former 40-goal scorer is a decent fantasy option on a Panthers team that is 3-1-1 in their past five games. The 32-year-old should come close to the 40-point mark in 2014-15.

Panthers' Boyes A Healthy Scratch Monday

News: Brad Boyes was a healthy scratch for Monday's game against the Penguins.
Analysis: Brad Boyes had been battling a back injury in recent days, and though he's now ostensibly healthy, it seems coach Gerard Gallant just wanted to give him an extended rest with a four-day Christmas break set to come for the Panthers. Veteran Tomas Fleischmann was rested in a similar vein, with youngsters Jimmy Hayes and Brandon Pirri drawing into the lineup in their places.

Panthers' Boyes Returns Saturday

News: Brad Boyes (upper body) will return to the lineup Saturday against the Penguins, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Brad Boyes was a surprise scratch Thursday against the Flyers due to the injury, but since he was able to practice Friday, the Panthers never considered the ailment to be serious. Brandon Pirri will head back to the press box Saturday in order for Boyes to reclaim his spot in the lineup.

Panthers' Boyes Practices Friday

News: Brad Boyes (upper body) was present during Friday's practice, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: While Brad Boyes' participation in on-ice activities Friday is seemingly a good sign, coach Gerard Gallant was reluctant to declare him ready to play Saturday in Pittsburgh. The team should reach a decision on his status following their morning skate that day.

Panthers Scratch Boyes With Upper-Body Injury

News: Brad Boyes will not play Thursday against the Flyers due to an upper-body injury, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: It seemed apparent based on the Panthers' morning skate that coach Gerard Gallant would use the same lineup Thursday that he went with in Tuesday's shootout win over the Capitals, but it appears Brad Boyes may have been concealing the injury during that time. He's considered day-to-day for now, and it would seem the Panthers are hoping to have him available for Saturday's game in Pittsburgh. Brandon Pirri will assume his spot in the lineup Thursday.

Panthers' Boyes Minus-2 In Loss To Columbus

News: Brad Boyes was a minus-2 with five shots on goal in just under 16 minutes of ice time in Thursday's loss to the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: Brad Boyes has posted solid numbers through the first quarter of the season, notching 12 points (4G, 8A) in 24 games. He is currently tied for 4th on the team in scoring and has three assists in the past four games entering into Saturday's contest against Buffalo. Boyes is on pace for 41 points this season, which would be the first time reaching 40 points since 2010-2011.

Boyes Notches Three Points In Panthers' Win

News: Brad Boyes scored two goals, added an assist, and was a plus-3 in Sunday's win over the Ducks.
Analysis: It was a great outing for the team's second line, as Nick Bjugstad, Jonathan Huberdeau, and Brad Boyes combined for five goals and nine points in the win. Boyes had gone four straight games without recording a point, but now has four goals and nine points in 15 games on the season. He is a solid secondary scorer who can get you 20 goals and 40-50 points.

Boyes Nets Two Points For Panthers

News: Brad Boyes picked up a goal and an assist Tuesday, adding a plus-1 rating, four shots and two penalty minutes in a win over Colorado.
Analysis: A nice night for Brad Boyes, who doubled his point production on the season. All four of his points have come in the last three games, which is promising.

Panthers' Boyes Scored Lone Goal In OT Loss

News: Brad Boyes netted a rebound for his first goal of the season against the Capitals on Saturday.
Analysis: Although Brad Boyes started the game on the Panthers fourth line, he scored the only goal for the team on the power play and ended the night with 20:10 minutes of ice time leading all forwards. Boyes also had two shots on goal, two hits, and one blocked shot. This was Boyes best outing of the season and with the Panthers not generating much offence, expect them to put Boyes back in positions to succeed on the scoresheet.

Panthers' Boyes Moved Down To The Fourth Line

News: Brad Boyes was moved from the top line down to the fourth line in practice on Wednesday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Brad Boyes has gone pointless in the first three games of the season. He had three shots on goal with two penalty minutes in 16:16 minutes of ice time in his most recent game against Ottawa. The move to the fourth line would likely be accompanied by a decline in minutes and in the talent of the players Boys skates with, much to the detriment of his fantasy value.

Panthers' Boyes Gets Goal, Assist

News: Brad Boyes scored his team-leading 21st goal of the season and added an assist in Thursday night's win over Toronto.
Analysis: Brad Boyes has proven to be the Cats' top offseason pickup by far and was rewarded in early March with a contract extension. His 36 points this year are the most he's scored in a season since 2010-11, when he tallied 55.

Panthers' Boyes Back In Business

News: Brad Boyes (back) is slated to suit up Tuesday against the Flyers, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Brad Boyes, who missed the Panthers' last two games due to back spasms, checks back into the lineup with 20 goals (including two in his last three contests) and 34 points in 75 games to date.

Panthers' Boyes Out Again Friday

News: Brad Boyes is listed as an injured scratch due to back spasms Friday against the Flames.
Analysis: Brad Boyes will miss a second consecutive game but can still be considered day-to-day. Back spasms are rather unpredictable, so he can't be considered a sure thing to play again this season.

Panthers' Boyes Misses Practice

News: Brad Boyes (back) wasn't present for Thursday's practice, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: The Panthers will attempt to limit Brad Boyes' workload over the next few days while he recovers from the back injury he aggravated Tuesday night. He would seem unlikely to play Friday against the Flames.

Panthers' Boyes Leaves After Aggravating Back

News: Brad Boyes was removed from Tuesday's game against the Islanders after aggravating his back injury, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Brad Boyes was a game-time decision Tuesday, but ended up playing after receiving treatment from a chiropractor earlier in the day. However, his back quickly acted up in the first period, as he left after just five shifts and 3:17 TOI. He may need to rest a few games for the back issues to dissipate entirely.

Panthers' Boyes Will Play Tuesday

News: Brad Boyes (back) will play Tuesday against the Islanders, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Although Brad Boyes is probably not quite at 100 percent health, the Panthers felt comfortable enough using him after he was able to take part in pregame warmups without limitations. Look for him to occupy his usual spot on the top line.

Panthers' Boyes: Game-Time Decision Tuesday

News: Brad Boyes (back) is a game-time decision Tuesday against the Islanders, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Brad Boyes is dealing with a sore back and met with a chiropractor earlier in the day in an attempt to remedy the ailment. The Panthers should relay the winger's status for Tuesday during pregame warmups.
