Columbus' Hartnell Hits 60-Point Plateau

News: Scott Hartnell scored his 28th goal of the season and added an assist in Saturday's shootout loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: The points give him 60, a tally he has equalled or surpassed just three times in his career. He actually turned up the gas in his last 10 games, delivering 20 points, including six goals. He's a good fit in Columbus and that spells fantasy success.

Jackets' Hartnell Notches Goal, Assist In Win

News: Scott Hartnell collected a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: Scott Hartnell is quietly having an excellent season for his fantasy owners, and has now racked up 27 goals, 31 assists, and 98 PIM in 75 games on the season. He's got four points in his last four games, and should be considered a solid fantasy winger heading into next season.

Hartnell's Hattie Lifts Jackets

News: Scott Hartnell scored a power-play goal, an even-strength goal, and an empty-netter Tuesday in a 5-3 win over Anaheim.
Analysis: Another terrific outing for Scott Hartnell, who more than compensated for going one game off the scoresheet. He also picked up a couple PIM for the third consecutive game, a lovely complement to his 10 points over his last eight contests. Hartsy's now surpassed last year's 52 points in 10 fewer games -- nice.

Streak Hits Six For Jackets' Hartnell

News: Scott Hartnell recorded a goal and went plus-3 in Thursday's win over the Canucks, giving him his second 50-point campaign in as many seasons.
Analysis: The tally improved Scott Hartnell's point streak to six games. After closing February on a five-game scoring skid, Hartnell has been on fire since the beginning of this month, producing eight goals and 11 points over 10 games. Keep rolling him out there until he cools.

Jackets' Hartnell Scores In Fourth Straight

News: Scott Hartnell potted a goal in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Hurricanes.
Analysis: Scott Hartnell has been on fire, finding the back of the net in four straight contests with five goals in that span. The 32-year-old has picked up nine points in his last eight games -- seven goals and two assists -- to bring him within two points of reaching the 50-point mark for the fourth time in his career.

Jackets' Hartnell Pots Another Goal Friday

News: Scott Hartnell scored his fourth goal in the last three games during Friday's shootout win over the Oilers.
Analysis: After finishing up February with a five game scoreless drought, Scott Hartnell's kicked things back into gear with eight points (six goals, two assists) in seven March contests. Friday's goal was his 20th of the season, marking the eighth time in his career that he's reached that plateau.

Hartnell's Two Goals Help Lift Jackets

News: Scott Hartnell scored a pair of power-play goals to erase a 3-1 deficit and send Tuesday's game to overtime and eventually a shootout, with the Jackets taking away a 4-3 win over Carolina.
Analysis: Scott Hartnell had gone a week -- just two games, to be fair -- without a point since busting out with two goals and an assist last Tuesday. Nonetheless, he's now got 18 goals on the year, so he's quite likely to surpass last season's 20, and with 45 points, he should exceed last year's 52. Now if only he could draw that minus-12 rating up.

Huge Night For Jackets' Hartnell

News: Scott Hartnell factored into all three Columbus goals Tuesday in a loss to Washington, scoring two (one on a power play), assisting on the other, and tacking on four penalty minutes.
Analysis: A huge night for Hartsy, but he was outshone by Alex Ovechkin and the Caps. With 43 points in 58 games, he has a good chance to surpass last year's 52-point total, but he's also sitting on the worst plus-minus of his career (minus-12).

Jackets' Hartnell Picks Up Assist

News: Scott Hartnell added an assist Sunday in a 5-3 loss to the Penguins.
Analysis: The assist helped Scott Hartnell snap out of a cold funk that saw the winger go pointless in five straight games. His offensive production has been quite sporadic this season and we're not loving his minus-12 rating, but Hartnell remains a serviceable fantasy option as the owner of 14 goals and 26 assists in 57 games.

Jackets' Hartnell Pushes Streak To Eight

News: Scott Hartnell scored a goal in Thursday's win over the Penguins, pushing his point streak to eight games.
Analysis: With four goals and seven assists over this eight-game span, Scott Hartnell's certainly been keeping busy for the Jackets. He's got a good chance to exceed last year's 52-point output with a strong finish to the season.

Jackets' Hartnell Helps Out In Win

News: Scott Hartnell registered a power-play assist and an even-strength assist Tuesday in a 5-2 win over his old Philadelphia mates.
Analysis: After going scoreless in his first two games against Philadelphia this year, Scott Hartnell rounded into full-on revenge mode with four points in the next three. He's quietly compiled a seven-game point streak, with 10 points (three of them goals) in that span.

Blue Jackets' Hartnell Scores In 1000th Game

News: Scott Hartnell bagged a goal in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Kings.
Analysis: Playing in the 1000th game of his career, Scott Hartnell stayed hot as he's tallied a point in each of the past four games, two of which were multi-point efforts. With 34 points in 47 games, the 32-year-old is on pace for his fourth 50-point season.

Jackets' Hartnell: Back-To-Back Two-Point Efforts

News: Scott Hartnell notched a goal and assist in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Senators.
Analysis: Scott Hartnell's goal came on an empty-netter with 1:16 remaining, allowing him to pick up his second two-point game in as many days. Though Hartnell has run hot and cold at times this season, his first year in Columbus has been a productive one so far. He's notched 12 goals, 21 assists and a minus-7 rating over 46 games.

Jackets' Hartnell Chips In Friday

News: Scott Hartnell contributed a goal and an assist in Friday's blowout win over the Blues.
Analysis: Scott Hartnell now has 11 goals and 31 points in 45 games, putting him on track for a 50-point season. Currently playing on the top line with Ryan Johansen, Hartnell is a great fantasy contributor in multiple categories, including power-play goals (four) and shots on goal (120). After a crazy 67-point season in 2011-12 followed by a disappointing 11-point season, Hartnell has returned to being the 20-goal, 50-point guy we became accustomed to in the past. Use him well.

Jackets' Hartnell Has Two-Point Night Monday

News: Scott Hartnell scored a goal and added an assist in Monday's 3-1 win over the Wild.
Analysis: He also picked up a minor penalty, giving Scott Hartnell two goals, five points and 10 PIM over his last five games. When he's been healthy, Hartnell has been exactly the scrappy top-six forward the Blue Jackets thought they were acquiring this offseason.

Blue Jackets' Hartnell Helps Out Saturday

News: Scott Hartnell recorded a power-play assist, two PIM and three shots on goal in Saturday's win over the Bruins.
Analysis: Over his last four games, Scott Hartnell has supplied a goal, two assists, nine hits and eight PIM. The well-rounded nature of his production is probably his best quality, as his point totals alone won't rival many of the league's other top-six forwards.

Jackets' Hartnell Returns To Practice

News: Scott Hartnell (illness) returned to practice Tuesday, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The illness kept him out of Monday's session, but Scott Hartnell returned to the ice for the full 45-minute practice a day later. He looks like he'll be ready to go for Wednesday's game against the Canadiens.

Jackets' Hartnell (Illness) Misses Practice

News: Scott Hartnell (illness) missed Monday's practice.
Analysis: Scott Hartnell was out with a minor illness, and the team expects to have him back on the ice for Tuesday's session. Consider him probable for Wednesday's matchup with Montreal.

Jackets' Hartnell Contributes Two Helpers

News: Scott Hartnell rattled off his second consecutive two-assist game and added a plus-2 rating and two PIM in Tuesday's win over the Stars.
Analysis: One of the helpers came on the power play, marking just his second man-advantage point in the last 19 games. Scott Hartnell is offering fantasy owners pretty much his usual combination of point production, PIM and hits, so he's a valuable asset in leagues that use those secondary categories.

Jackets' Hartnell Helps On Two

News: Scott Hartnell assisted on two goals in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Avalanche.
Analysis: Scott Hartnell has four points in four contests since returning from a broken finger that kept him out of action, showing no signs of rust from the absence. The 32-year-old now has 21 points through 32 games and should be a reliable option going forward.

Jackets' Hartnell Snipes Twice In Return

News: Scott Hartnell (finger) tallied two goals in his return to action Saturday against the Bruins.
Analysis: Scott Hartnell's fantasy owners may have been understandably hesitant to activate him for Saturday's slate following a two-week absence due to the broken finger, but he answered any lingering questions about his health by delivering the Jackets' first two goals in a resounding 6-2 victory. The winger also showcased his typical abrasiveness on the other end of the ice, doling out four hits in the match.

Jackets' Hartnell Will Play Saturday

News: Scott Hartnell (broken finger) was activated from injured reserve and will play Saturday against the Bruins.
Analysis: Just as the Blue Jackets initially forecasted, Scott Hartnell missed two weeks due to the injury, allowing the forward to hit his targeted return date of Dec. 27. After ranking among the league leaderboard in assists through October, Hartnell had slumped mightily prior to his injury. He'll reclaim a spot on the top line with Ryan Johansen in his return, but it may not necessarily ignite his production right away.

Jackets' Hartnell Hopes To Be Back After X-Mas

News: Scott Hartnell (broken finger) said Saturday that he was targeting a return to the lineup Dec. 27 against the Bruins, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Scott Hartnell skated on his own Saturday morning in full gear, but has yet to receive clearance for practice. He hasn't seemed to endure any setbacks in his recovery thus far and is simply waiting for a little more healing with his finger before increasing his range of activities.

X-Rays On Tap For Blue Jackets' Hartnell

News: Scott Hartnell will undergo X-rays on his non-displaced fractured finger Thursday night, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Doctors just want to ensure that the finger is healing properly, as there are no tentative plans for Scott Hartnell to undergo surgery. He could be cleared to resume practicing if all goes well with Thursday's check-up.

Blue Jackets Move Hartnell To IR

News: Scott Hartnell (finger) was placed on injured reserve Friday.
Analysis: The Blue Jackets made the move after Scott Hartnell suffered a broken finger during Thursday's 3-2 win over the Capitals. He's expected to miss about two weeks due to the injury, allowing the newly recalled Kerby Rychel to pick up some ice time in his absence.
