Panthers' Kopecky Tallies Assist In Win Thursday

News: Tomas Kopecky tallied an assist, two penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating in Thursday night's 6-1 victory over the Hurricanes.
Analysis: The point was just his second of the calendar year and his first since Jan. 11. The contributions all over the stat sheet was a welcome surprise as Tomas Kopecky isn't much of an offensive threat while also playing limited minutes. Kopecky has limited fantasy value for the final few games of the season.

Panthers' Kopecky To Serve As A Healthy Scratch

News: Tomas Kopecky is slated to be a healthy scratch for Saturday's match versus the Bruins, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: After being scratched in five straight games due to illness and then as a healthy scratch, Tomas Kopecky played well in his first game since Mar. 5. He posted a plus-1 rating with three shots on goal in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Red Wings. On the season, he's posted a woeful minus-19 rating, but looked like he'd been trending in the right direction. If Kopecky continues to serve as a healthy scratch, his already limited fantasy value plummets further.

Panthers' Kopecky To Serve As Healthy Scratch

News: Tomas Kopecky (illness) is in line to serve as a healthy scratch Thursday against the Jets, Alain Poupart of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Tomas Kopecky missed the Panthers' previous game last Saturday with the stomach flu, but he appears to be fully recovered after returning to practice Monday. Even so, with Dave Bolland (upper body/illness) returning from injured reserve Thursday, Kopecky will be forced to sit for a second straight game. Kopecky, who has only seven points to go along with an ugly minus-20 rating on the season, may not be guaranteed a lineup spot most nights with the Panthers now back at 100 percent health.

Panthers' Kopecky (Illness) Practices Monday

News: Tomas Kopecky (illness) was on the ice for practice Monday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Tomas Kopecky missed Saturday's game against the Islanders due to the illness, but it appears he has overcome the issue. Barring some sort of setback, both he and Aaron Ekblad (illness) should be available Thursday.

Panthers' Kopecky Sitting Out With Stomach Flu

News: Tomas Kopecky (illness) will not play Saturday against the Islanders, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Tomas Kopecky is the latest victim of the stomach virus making its way through the Panthers' locker room, and he'll join Aaron Ekblad in being held out Saturday night. The winger typically sees between 10 and 14 minutes of ice time per game, and he hasn't recorded a point since early January.

Cats' Kopecky A Game-Time Decision Saturday

News: Tomas Kopecky (illness) will be a game-time decision for Saturday's tilt with the Islanders, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: The stomach flu virus has been coursing its way through the Florida locker room the last few days, afflicting Willie Mitchell, Erik Gudbranson, Dave Bolland, Jaromir Jagr, and now Tomas Kopecky and rookie Aaron Ekblad. The latter two were absent from Saturday's morning skate as a result, but Kopecky seems less likely to play of the two. Kopecky has been a healthy scratch on a few occasions this season, so the Panthers won't have much incentive to keep him active while he's operating at less than 100 percent.

Panthers' Kopecky Posts Minus-3 In Win Sunday

News: Tomas Kopecky posted a minus-3 in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Lightning with one shot on goal in 11:54 of ice time.
Analysis: Tomas Kopecky's minus-3 moved him to minus-20 on the year, worst on the team and in the bottom 20 across the league. Kopecky doesn't see much ice time, and posting such a poor rating bodes poorly for his prospects moving forward. The 33-year-old has extremely limited fantasy value unless he goes on a big point streak.

Panthers' Kopecky Put Three Shots On Goal Sunday

News: Tomas Kopecky took three shots on goal and carried a minus-1 in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Blues.
Analysis: The 33-year-old has never been a big source of points, breaking the 30-point threshold just twice in his career, and is currently sitting on the worst plus/minus of his career at minus-13. As a result, Tomas Kopecky's fantasy value will remain limited unelss he goes on a major hot streak.

Panthers' Kopecky Notches Second Of Season

News: Tomas Kopecky added a goal in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: It's been a disappointing season for Tomas Kopecky as he now has just seven points through 36 games, but notching his second goal of the season and skating full time in three games since returning from the IR suggest he's fully over the upper body injury that had him sidelined. Nevertheless, with just 19 points in the last two seasons combined, the 32-year-old won't be of much value even in deeper formats.

Panthers Activate Kopecky

News: Tomas Kopecky (upper body) was activated from IR and will play Thursday against the Canucks, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Tomas Kopecky missed the last four games with the injury. The winger is expected to play on the Panthers' checking line Thursday, but don't expect him to bring much value in that capacity. He's managed just one goal and six points over 33 games this season.

Panthers' Kopecky (Upper Body) Placed On IR

News: Tomas Kopecky (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday.
Analysis: The 32-year-old has sat out the Panthers' last seven games and has missed the requisite seven days already, so he'll be eligible to return from IR at any point. There's reason to believe he could be back as soon as Thursday's game against the Canucks, as he was able to get in a full practice Tuesday, according to George Richards of the Miami Herald.

Panthers' Kopecky Remains Out Friday

News: Tomas Kopecky (upper body) remains out of the lineup Friday against the Sabres, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Tomas Kopecky took part in a conditioning skate Friday morning, but has yet to formally rejoin his healthy teammates for practices. Friday's game will mark the third straight that he's missed due to the injury.

Panthers' Kopecky Out Tuesday

News: Tomas Kopecky will not play in Tuesday's game against the Canadiens, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: No specific injury has been reported, so Tomas Kopecky may be a healthy scratch, or else he will likely just be day-to-day. He may even stand a chance to play in Wednesday's game against the Rangers. Thomas Fleischmann, who has been a healthy scratch the past few games, will slot back into the lineup Tuesday.

Panthers' Kopecky Nets First Goal

News: Tomas Kopecky tallied his first goal of the season in Saturday's win over the Sabres.
Analysis: Tomas Kopecky had been held without a goal for nearly a full calendar year, as his last one had come in a Jan. 4 game against the Predators. The veteran winger has seen his ice time drop by nearly two full minutes in each of the past two seasons and wouldn't seem to offer much upside at this point.

Panthers' Kopecky Practices On Top Line Monday

News: Tomas Kopecky was practicing on the top line with Aleksander Barkov and Scottie Upshall Monday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Tomas Kopecky has no points in his last four games, and has only registered one assist in the first 12 games of the season. He has found himself playing most of the season as a bottom six forward and with the lack of success, the move to the top line is a little bit puzzling. If Kopecky remains playing on the top line during Tuesday's game against the Sharks, he will need to produce some points or he could easily find himself back in the doghouse.

Panthers' Kopecky Struggling To Produce

News: Tomas Kopecky has registered just one point in 10 games this season.
Analysis: Coming off a dreadful, concussion-plagued campaign that limited him to 12 points over 49 games, the 32-year-old Tomas Kopecky is no longer being relied upon as a key contributor for the Panthers. He's filled a bottom-six role for the club all season and figures to be shown the door when he becomes a free agent next summer.

Panthers' Kopecky Ruled Out Indefinitely

News: Coach Peter Horachek confirmed that Tomas Kopecky is out indefinitely with a concussion, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Analysis: It's been a horrible Olympic break for the Panthers, who watched both Tomas Kopecky and Aleksander Barkov get injured over in Sochi and now will be without the services of either player perhaps for multiple weeks. Both players have already been moved to injured reserve.

Panthers' Kopecky To Miss Rest Of Olympics

News: Tomas Kopecky (head) has been ruled out for the rest of the Winter Olympics, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Tomas Kopecky sustained a hit to the head in Saturday's game against Slovenia, which may have resulted in a concussion for the Slovakian forward. Slovakia is on the brink of elimination in any case with a lose-or-go-home match coming up Tuesday against a tough Czech Republic team, so Kopecky's injury is probably of greater concern to the Panthers more than anyone. Florida has already lost prized rookie Aleksander Barkov for the next four-to-six weeks after he was knocked out of the Olympics for Finland with a lower-body injury.

Panthers' Kopecky Leaves With Injury Saturday

News: Tomas Kopecky left Saturday's game for Slovakia with an undisclosed injury, Harvey Fialkov of the Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: There were no details given as to the nature of the injury or for how long it will keep Tomas Kopecky out. His condition will likely be updated over the weekend, so consider him day-to-day for now.

Panthers' Kopecky Could Return Tuesday

News: Tomas Kopecky (shoulder) looks like he could be available Tuesday vs. the Bruins, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Tomas Kopecky was a full participant at morning skate and coach Pete Horachek said after the session that he'd "like to think [Kopecky's] in the lineup" Tuesday. Team trainers were set to examine Kopecky after morning skate and would hold the final say as to whether or not the forward would be in Tuesday's lineup.

Panthers Activate Kopecky

News: Tomas Kopecky (shoulder) was activated from injured reserve Tuesday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: As expected, this clears the way for Tomas Kopecky to return to the lineup after missing the previous four games with the shoulder injury. Aleksander Barkov (lower body) was transferred to IR to make room for Kopecky.

Panthers' Kopecky Placed On IR

News: Tomas Kopecky (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: The shoulder injury will cost Tomas Kopecky a fourth straight game Sunday, but with the IR stint backdated to Jan. 19, the 31-year-old will be eligible to return Tuesday against Boston. Dylan Olsen (upper body) was activated to take Kopecky's place on the active roster.

Panthers' Kopecky Doubtful For Friday

News: Tomas Kopecky (shoulder) is doubtful for Friday's game vs. the Avalanche, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: With Tomas Kopecky sitting out Thursday's practice, it looks as though he'll be on track to miss his third straight game. He could land on injured reserve if his injury lingers through next week.

Panthers' Kopecky Out Again Tuesday

News: Tomas Kopecky (shoulder) will not play Tuesday vs. the Sabres, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Tomas Kopecky might actually be healthy enough to play Tuesday, but after Jesse Winchester tallied three assists in his return from injured reserve Monday, coach Pete Horachek understandably won't rock the boat. Look for Kopecky to return later this week if his shoulder condition doesn't worsen at all.

Panthers' Kopecky Expected To Sit Monday

News: Tomas Kopecky is nursing a shoulder injury and is unlikely to play Monday against the Penguins, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Tomas Kopecky first took the hit to his shoulder in Saturday's game against the Hurricanes and reportedly still felt sore on Sunday. He was absent from morning skate, and it looks like coach Pete Horachek is content to give him further time to recover. Consider him questionable for Tuesday's game against the Sabres.
