Pens' Petersen Clears Unconditional Waivers

News: Nick Petersen cleared unconditional waivers Wednesday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
Analysis: The move allows for a mutually-agreed termination of contract, if desired. Since teams have until noon Friday to place players on waivers so they can play in the AHL in the event of a lockout, Nick Petersen might remain with the organization and stay with the team's AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Peters lights lamp for first time

News: David Moss got his first career hat trick and Warren Peters added his first NHL goal in Calgary's 6-3 victory against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night. Flames right wing David Van der Gulik also got his first career point when he set up Peters' goal that tied it at 2. Peters took Van der Gulik's pass to the left of the Senators' goal and spun around before putting a shot from a sharp angle past Alex Auld, who somehow was beaten on the play despite hugging the left post.
Analysis: The 26-year-old Peters has pretty much been a career minor leaguer and could be back on his way to the minors as soon as Calgary needs a roster spot. Despite the goal, he has little to no Fantasy value.

Peters called up from the AHL

News: Warren Peters was recalled from Quad Cities (AHL) to take Brandon Prust's spot in the Flames lineup.
Analysis: Peters has been a career minor leaguer and not a top prospect. It's safe to ignore him in Fantasy.

Peters already back in minors

News: The Sports Xchange reports Flames C Warren Peters' NHL debut didn't last long. The rookie played 5:08 Sunday against the Rangers, lost a faceoff and had two hits to his credit -- and was returned to the AHL Quad City Flames immediately after the game.
Analysis: Peters has been a career minor leaguer and not a top prospect. It's safe to ignore him in Fantasy.
