Devils' Ryder Ends Goal-Scoring Slump

News: Michael Ryder scored his first goal in nearly three weeks Thursday in a shootout loss to Ottawa.
Analysis: In fact, it was the Devils' only goal of the game. Michael Ryder's last tally came March 20, and he'd had just two assists in the nine games since.

Devils' Ryder Mired In Massive Slump

News: Michael Ryder has just one goal in the last 27 games and has seen time on the team's fourth line in recent games.
Analysis: Michael Ryder's lone goal came in last Thursday's win over Minnesota, but he has been demoted to the team's checking line and has seen his power play-time drastically cut in the last three tilts, playing just 1:09 total while averaging over 2:20 most of the season. Ryder simply isn't a reliable player for consistent production.

Devils' Ryder Playing Saturday

News: Michael Ryder was on the ice for pregame warmups Saturday, while Ryan Carter was not, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: A previous report said that Michael Ryder was likely the unspecified Devil in danger of missing Saturday's game, but it now appears that Carter was the man all along. Carter thus figures to sit, while Ryder is presumably good to go.

Devils' Ryder May Be Game-Time Call Saturday

News: Michael Ryder has been dealing with a minor back injury and may be a game-time decision for Saturday's contest against Tampa Bay, Tom Gulitti's Fire & Ice blog reports
Analysis: Devils coach Pete DeBoer said that one of his team's forwards will be a game-time decision Saturday, and The Record's Tom Gulitti makes a very strong case that Michael Ryder is that forward. Whether or not Ryder plays Saturday, it would appear that he's merely day-to-day and not facing a prolonged absence.

Devils' Ryder Struggling

News: Michael Ryder racked up 16 goals and 11 assists in 59 games before the Olympic break.
Analysis: The Devils have leaned on Michael Ryder for offensive production since the departure of Ilya Kovalchuk, but he's been ice cold lately, posting just one point in the last nine games. The veteran winger will need to heat up after the break in order to retain his fantasy value.

Devils' Ryder On Goal Binge

News: Michael Ryder's goal streak now stands at four games and four goals after he opened the scoring for the Devils in Saturday's OT win over the Panthers. He has six goals in his last nine games after netting just 10 in his first 37.
Analysis: Looks like Rip Van Winkle has woken up. Michael Ryder came to Jersey to score goals and he's finally doing just that. Take advantage.

Devils' Ryder Only Man In Thursday

News: Michael Ryder was the only player to find twine Thursday in a 1-0 victory over the Stars.
Analysis: That's goals in three straight and a pair of game-winners in the last five contests for Michael Ryder, who's finally seeing some course correction in his stats following an atrocious start to the year. He's scored six goals and added two assists in his last 10 games. The fact that Thursday's goal came against his former Dallas employers, who traded him to Montreal last year, only makes it sweeter.

Ryder Scores In New Jersey Win

News: Michael Ryder scored the game-winning goal and assisted on New Jersey's other tally in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Michael Ryder has three points in the last two games and three goals in the last six contests. He has more value in deeper leagues, as he likely won't return to his 30-goal form in the season's final 41 games, but he could finish with close to 25 goals.

Ryder Scores In New Jersey Loss

News: Michael Ryder scored one of New Jersey's two goals in Friday's overtime loss to Anaheim, giving him five goals in the last nine games.
Analysis: Michael Ryder has seven points over that span and has been one of the Devils' more quietly productive offensive players the past month. Ryder has rebounded nicely from a slow start and figures to keep seeing scoring chances for the Devils. Give him a look in deeper leagues or if you need a spot start in a daily lineup.

Devils' Ryder Notches Two Points In Loss

News: Michael Ryder scored his seventh goal of the season and added an assist in Wednesday's loss to the Canadiens.
Analysis: Both of Michael Ryder's points game in the third-period, as he set up Andrei Loktionov's game-tying goal before giving the Devils a temporary lead with a score of his own just five minutes later. Ryder would finish the game as the team leader with five shots on goal, tying his season-high.

Devils' Ryder Scores Power-Play Goal In Loss

News: Michael Ryder scored a power-play goal in Friday's loss to the Leafs.
Analysis: Michael Ryder's late third-period goal tied the game at one apiece to send the contest to overtime. Unfortunately, Ryder couldn't come up clutch another time, as goalie Jonathan Bernier stopped him on his shootout attempt en route to another Devils loss. With seven points in 16 games, Ryder isn't an egregious underachiever like some of his other mates, but more offense was probably expected after he amassed 10 goals and 11 assists in just 27 games with the Canadiens last season.

Ryder joins Devils for 2 years, $7 million

News: Michael Ryder has signed a two-year, $3.5 million per year contract with the Devils, TSN.ca reports.
Analysis: Michael Ryder will see a top-six role in New Jersey, lining up with either Ilya Kovalchuk on the first line or Patrick Elias on the second unit. A first power play gig could also be in the offering. The 33-year-old Ryder had 16 goals and 35 points in 46 games last season, split between Dallas and Montreal.

Canadiens' Ryder Returns

News: Michael Ryder returned to the Montreal lineup after missing one game due to an upper body injury. He had an assist and skated 18 shifts for 16:06 of ice time in Montreal's 3-2 win over Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Michael Ryder has been productive since joining the Canadiens in a trade from the Stars, but hasn't scored a goal in his last five games.

Habs Get Ryder Back

News: Michael Ryder (upper body) will suit up for Thursday's game against the Lightning.
Analysis: The Habs have dropped three straight games, so getting Michael Ryder back should provide the team with a nice boost up front Thursday. In 22 games since coming over in a trade with the Stars, Ryder has thrived, recording 10 goals and 20 points.

Habs' Ryder Day-To-Day

News: Michael Ryder is day-to-day with an upper body injury.
Analysis: As a result, Michael Ryder won't play Wednesday against the Penguins, with his status for Thursday's game against the Lightning presumably cloudy as well.

Habs' Ryder Grabs Two Assists

News: Michael Ryder picked up a pair of assists in Thursday's 5-1 win over Buffalo.
Analysis: He's got 20 points -- split evenly between goals and assists -- in as many games since being shipped back to the Canadiens, with whom he started his career.

Ryder Has Point-Per-Game Pace In Habs' Uniform

News: Michael Ryder netted the game-winning goal on the power play Saturday night to lift the Canadiens over the Bruins, 2-1.
Analysis: It's his 10th goal in just 18 games with the bleu, blanc et rouge and 17th on the season. He's delivering at a point-per-game pace in his second stint in Habsland. You know what to do.

Ryder Scores Twice In Canadiens' Win

News: Michael Ryder snapped a two-game scoreless skid with two goals and an assist in Thursday's win over the Jets.
Analysis: With Montreal down 1-0, Michael Ryder scored on a first-period power play to tie the game, then untied it for good early in the second and later assisted on Alex Galchenyuk's sealer. While Ryder's been a little inconsistent, he's also been quite productive overall, collecting 17 points in his last 16 games.

Canadiens' Ryder Scores Twice In Win

News: Michael Ryder had two goals and six shots on net Wednesday night in Montreal's 6-5 shootout win over Boston.
Analysis: The former Bruin and Canadien, who's now a Canadien again, has scored four times in the last four games. He's at a point-per-game pace since rejoining Montreal 13 games ago.

Habs' Ryder On Career Pace

News: Michael Ryder notched his 10th goal of the season in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Sabres. It came on the power play.
Analysis: He now has a power-play goal in each of his last two games. His point pace this season would equate to a new career best -- that's a remarkable feat for a 33-year-old.

Canadiens' Ryder Returns From Lower-Body Injury

News: Michael Ryder returned to the Montreal lineup Tuesday night after missing one game due to a lower-body injury. He had two shots on goal, blocked a shot and had one hit in 17:35 of ice time in Montreal's overtime loss to Buffalo.
Analysis: Michael Ryder has made an impact since being acquired from Dallas, scoring nine points in his first eight games with Montreal. He'll continue to skate on a line with Tomas Plekanec and Brian Gionta.

Habs' Ryder Practices Monday

News: Michael Ryder (lower body) practiced Monday.
Analysis: Michael Ryder missed Saturday's game against the Devils, but his presence at practice Monday bodes well for his chances of suiting up Tuesday against the Sabres.

Habs' Ryder (Lower Body) Will Not Play Saturday

News: Michael Ryder (lower body) did not make the trip to New Jersey for Saturday's game against the Devils.
Analysis: Michael Ryder ended up returning to Wednesday's game after being hit by the Senators' Eric Gryba, but it seems his condition deteriorated after the adrenaline wore off. He will not be in action Sunday, but consider Ryder day-to-day going forward. The team recalled Michael Blunden to help out while Ryder's hurt.

Habs' Ryder Returns To The Bench Wednesday

News: Michael Ryder returned to the Canadiens' bench Wednesday, Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: He spent a decent chunk of time in the locker room after a hit from Ottawa's Eric Gryba, but it seems Michael Ryder avoided serious injury. His return to the bench indicates he'll be fine moving forward.
