Sens' Chiasson To Return Tuesday

News: Alex Chiasson (undisclosed) will play Tuesday against the Canucks.
Analysis: Alex Chiasson sat out both of the Senators' weekend back-to-back tilts while dealing with the undisclosed injury, which was more than likely related to the lower-body ailment that forced him out of action in a game earlier that week. With the full weekend to heal up, Chiasson should be on track to see his usual amount of ice time on the Sens' second line.

Sens' Chiasson Won't Play Saturday

News: Alex Chiasson (undisclosed) will not play Saturday against the Jets, Elliotte Friedman of the CBC reports.
Analysis: There's no word on exactly what's ailing Alex Chiasson, but it's most likely the same lower-body injury that kept him out part of last week. Keep an eye out for another update over the next couple days.

Sens' Chiasson Back At Practice

News: Alex Chiasson (lower body) was back at practice Wednesday, Brent Wallace of TSN Ottawa reports.
Analysis: The Senators made Alex Chiasson a surprise scratch Tuesday against the Red Wings with the injury, which the forward sustained over the weekend in a game against the Bruins. His presence at practice would seem to suggest the ailment is a minor concern, making it possible that he returns to the lineup Thursday versus the Wild.

Sens' Chiasson Out Tuesday

News: Alex Chiasson is dealing with a lower-body injury and will not play Tuesday against the Red Wings.
Analysis: Alex Chiasson sustained the injury when he blocked a shot in Saturday's game against Boston, but it wasn't believed that he was at risk of missing Tuesday's contest. The Senators obviously thought otherwise, prioritizing the health of their young winger rather than risking further aggravation of the injury. Erik Condra or Colin Greening is expected to step into the lineup for Chiasson, who had registered a point in each of his previous five games.

Sens' Chiasson: Three-Game Point Streak

News: Alex Chiasson recorded his third goal of the season in Tuesday's win over the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: Alex Chiasson has proven to be an adept sniper for the Senators on the power play thus far, with all three of his goals on the season coming on the man advantage. The young winger is in the midst of a three-game point streak, but because most of his production this season has come on the power play, he's still sitting on a minus-4 rating.

Sens' Chiasson Registers Second Goal

News: Alex Chiasson scored the game's first goal and attempted five shots in a 3-2 overtime defeat to the Devils on Saturday.
Analysis: Both of Alex Chiasson's goals on the season have come on the Sens' second power-play unit. The Senators have utilized Chiasson primarily as their second-line right wing at even-strength play this season, but he's yet to develop much rapport with Bobby Ryan and Mika Zibanejad.

Sens' Chiasson Pots Goal In Team Debut

News: Alex Chiasson notched a power-play goal in Thursday's season-opening loss to the Predators.
Analysis: The top get for the Senators in the offseason deal that sent Jason Spezza to the Stars, Alex Chiasson slotted in as the second-line right wing in his team debut. Like Chiasson's old squad in Dallas, the Senators have a decent amount of depth at forward as well, which may prevent him from noticing a huge boost in his production during Year 1 in Ottawa. That being said, Chiasson should still see the ice often enough to come close to or surpass last season's 35-point output.
