Two Points For Wings' DeKeyser

News: Danny DeKeyser scored his second goal of the season, added a power-play assist and went plus-1 in Tuesday's victory over the Sabres.
Analysis: He'd been slumping badly since scoring his first goal of the year Nov. 30, as Danny DeKeyser had managed just a lonely assist over eight December games prior to Tuesday's slate. One of the more talented young blueliners around, the 24-year-old DeKeyser owns a relatively modest 13 points in 33 games on the year, but he's got big-time upside in the long run.

Red Wings' DeKeyser To Return Tuesday

News: Danny DeKeyser (upper body) will play in Tuesday's game against the Blue Jackets, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: Danny DeKeyser will return to action after missing two games over the weekend. He is expected to line up next to Kyle Quincey as part of the Red Wings' second defensive pairing.

Wings' DeKeyser Shooting For Tuesday Return

News: Danny DeKeyser (upper body) skated Saturday and hopes to return for Tuesday's game, Ansar Khan of MLive reports.
Analysis: Danny DeKeyser was injured in Wednesday's game and has since been replaced by Xavier Ouellet. The blueliner has 11 points in 29 games on the season.

Wings' DeKeyser Out For Next Two Games

News: Danny DeKeyser has been ruled out for both of the Red Wings' weekend contests with an upper-body injury, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: Though it didn't result in a drop in ice time, Danny DeKeyser more than likely suffered the injury in Wednesday's loss to the Maple Leafs. The Red Wings are optimistic that the two games off might be all DeKeyser needs to recover, so he'll hone in on a return to the lineup Tuesday versus the Blue Jackets. Xavier Ouellet was recalled from AHL Grand Rapids to give the Red Wings an extra body on defense.

Wings' DeKeyser On A Roll

News: Danny DeKeyser picked up an assist for the third straight game Thursday, contributing to a 4-3 victory over Winnipeg.
Analysis: After registering only four points in his first sixteen games, Danny DeKeyser has nearly doubled his output in the last three contests. DeKeyser hasn't shown a ton of offensive upside in the NHL, but is still on pace for about 30 points on the season.

Red Wings' DeKeyser Nabs A Point

News: Danny DeKeyser assisted on the Red Wings' lone goal in Tuesday's overtime loss to the Canadiens.
Analysis: Re-signed to a two-year deal in September, Danny DeKeyser is a valued member of the Red Wings' defensive corps, but is little more than deep-league fodder for fantasy purposes. He's registered two points in six games and doesn't produce overwhelming numbers in specialty categories like hits, blocks and penalty minutes.

Red Wings' DeKeyser Signs Two-Year Deal

News: Danny DeKeyser singed a two-year, $4.38 million deal with the Red Wings on Tuesday, TSN's Aaron Ward reports.
Analysis: As expected, the Red Wings finally worked out a deal to bring the 24-year-old back to Detroit following a lengthy standoff. Danny DeKeyser appeared in 65 games for the Wings last season, registering four goals and 19 assists for 23 total points. He also posted a plus-10 rating and 30 penalty minutes.

Red Wings And DeKeyser Still Playing Hardball

News: Danny DeKeyser, a restricted free agent, has yet to reach agreement on a new contract with the Red Wings a week before training camp commences, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: The two sides have tried to find common ground on a deal for two months, putting Danny DeKeyser at risk of missing the beginning of training camp. It appears the major roadblock in getting a deal done has been the Red Wings' inability to find a comparable market rate to work as launching point for a contract, since the 24-year-old DeKeyser has only 76 carer games on his ledger. Given the team's lack of quality depth on defense, expect the Red Wings to bring DeKeyser back into the fold before or shortly after the season opener.

Wings' DeKeyser A Healthy Scratch

News: Danny DeKeyser is a healthy scratch for the Red Wings in their regular season finale, Ted Kulfan of The Detroit News reports.
Analysis: Danny DeKeyser will join teammate Niklas Kronwall as a healthy scratch for Sunday's contest. He should be ready to go for the Red Wings' first playoff game.

DeKeyser Busy In Detroit Win

News: Danny DeKeyser had two assists in Friday's 3-2 win over Buffalo, giving him four assists in the last four games.
Analysis: Danny DeKeyser is a talented youngster on the Detroit blue line and should see a larger role as his career continues. He has a solid 23 points on the season through 61 games and has been seeing close to two minutes of power play time a game the last few weeks.

Two Helpers For Wings' DeKeyser

News: Danny DeKeyser notched a pair of assists and went plus-1 in Thursday's overtime win against Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Points have been fairly hard to come by for Danny DeKeyser, as even this fine night pushed his season to tal to just 19. He'd been scoreless in the prior three games and hadn't had a multi-point outing since way back on Nov. 15. DeKeyser does have some long-term offensive upside, but don't expect him to realize it for a few years yet.

News: Danny DeKeyser (lower body) believes he'll be able to play Thursday vs. the Sharks, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: Coach Mike Babcock and the training staff have yet to sign off on Danny DeKeyser for the game, but the defenseman's optimism would seem to bode well for his status. He sat out Saturday's game against Dallas after sustaining the lower-body injury during the Winter Classic.

Wings' DeKeyser Expects To Sit Out Saturday

News: Danny DeKeyser (lower body) is expected to sit out Saturday, Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News reports.
Analysis: Danny DeKeyser said he first experienced the groin woes in Wednesday's Winter Classic before being held out of practice Friday with the injury, but he doesn't expect to miss much time beyond Saturday's game. On Friday, the Red Wings called up Alexey Marchenko, who is expected to be plugged into DeKeyser's lineup spot Saturday.

Red Wings' DeKeyser Day-To-Day

News: Danny DeKeyser (lower body) is considered day-to-day with what is believed to be a groin injury, MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Danny DeKeyser has racked up 10 points and 12 penalty minutes over 27 games this season. His day-to-day classification may put his status for Saturday's contest in Dallas in jeopardy. The Red Wings also called up defensemen Alexey Marchenko on Friday, in case they find themselves in need of defensive depth Saturday.

News: Danny DeKeyser (shoulder) will be activated from IR and play Saturday vs. the Maple Leafs, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.

News: Danny DeKeyser (shoulder) will visit a doctor Thursday in hopes of receiving clearance to play Saturday against Toronto, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Danny DeKeyser has been skating with the team for a few weeks now and seems to be just awaiting the green light to play without any further conditioning required. He's been out since Nov. 19 with the shoulder injury.

Red Wings' DeKeyser Nearing Return

News: Danny DeKeyser (shoulder) will not be activated from long-term injured reserve when he is first eligible Saturday, but he is nearing a return, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.

Wings' DeKeyser Skates

News: Danny DeKeyser (shoulder) participated in the team's morning skate Wednesday, Chuck Pleiness of Macomb Daily Sports reports.
Analysis: While it's a positive sign that he's on the ice, Danny DeKeyser isn't eligible to be activated off long term IR for over a week, so there's no chance he'll suit up Wednesday against the Flyers. He was expected to miss 3-6 weeks as of November 26, so assuming he was a full participant at the morning skate, he appears to be ahead of schedule.

Wings' DeKeyser Out 3-6 Weeks

News: Danny DeKeyser (shoulder) expects to return in 3-6 weeks, MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Since he was placed on long-term IR last week, Danny DeKeyser will miss a minimum of 10 games anyway (he's missed three entering play Tuesday night). He could take his sling off in the near future and begin his rehab, however, which should help sort out which end of the timetable is more likely for the young blueliner's return.
