Panthers' Bjugstad: Finishes As Team's Top Scorer

News: Nick Bjugstad, who was held off the scoresheet Saturday, finished the season as the Panthers' leading scorer with 38 points. This set an NHL record for the fewest points to lead a team in a full season.
Analysis: Such is the struggle of a young roster that isn't very good right now. But Nick Bjugstad has all of the markings of a stud, top-line centerman, so keeper leaguers should see if they can pry him away from his current owner. The Panthers intend to spend to the cap next season in an effort to be competitive, so he'll have a much better supporting cast. That can only help him build his point totals.

Panthers' Bjugstad Leads The Way In Win

News: Nick Bjugstad scored two goals and tacked on an assist in Thursday night's 4-2 victory over Toronto.
Analysis: Nick Bjugstad broke a 20-game goalless drought with the pair on Thursday night, giving him 14 tallies overall on the season. Despite the recent slump, the 21-year-old has put together a nice campaign, with 35 points in 74 games. Given his potential, he's poised for a much bigger season in 2014-15.

Two Helpers For Panthers' Bjugstad

News: Nick Bjugstad handed out a pair of assists in Thursday's loss to Tampa Bay.
Analysis: He's got a four-game point streak going and has nine points in his last nine games now. The 19th overall pick in 2010, Nick Bjugstad's got great offensive upside; fantasy owners should take note as he shows it down the stretch.

Panthers' Bjugstad: Three-Game Streak

News: Nick Bjugstad scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's loss to the Blue Jackets. He has four points (two goals, two assists) on his current three-game streak.
Analysis: Nick Bjugstad has an opportunity to show Panthers' fans what their future holds. This guy is big (6-6) and immensely talented. And his 26 points so far this season are solid.

Panthers' Bjugstad Set To Assume Top Line Role

News: Nick Bjugstad is expected to fill in as the Panthers' top-line center while Aleksander Barkov (knee) remains sidelined indefinitely, Craig Davis of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Analysis: The Panthers will swap in one rookie center for another as coach Peter Horachek turns to Nick Bjugstad to keep the continuity going on the top line. Bjugstad has previously been a steady contributor on the second line with 13 goals and 10 assists over 52 games, and could see his outputs climb further now with more minutes available.

Panthers' Bjugstad Pots 12th Goal In Loss

News: Nick Bjugstad registered his 12th goal of the season in the Panthers' 6-3 loss to Toronto, Thursday night.
Analysis: Nick Bjugstad now has seven points in his last 10 games and 22 points overall on the season. He can provide value for those lacking depth in deeper leagues and he is a must-stash in dynasty formats.

Bjugstad Gets Florida's Only Goal

News: Nick Bjugstad had the lone goal for the Panthers in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Devils on Saturday night.
Analysis: It's his ninth of the season and 16th point (39 games). This behemoth has all of the makings of being a physically dominant power center; dynasty leagues need to be stashing him away.

Bjugstad Scores In Panthers' Loss

News: Nick Bjugstad tallied his eigth goal of the year in the Panthers' 4-3 loss to Detroit on Saturday night.
Analysis: Nick Bjugstad is now up to 15 points in 33 games this season. He should be rostered in all dynasty formats and provides some value in deeper single-season leagues.

Panthers' Bjugstad Scores Goal In Loss Friday

News: Nick Bjugstad scored his seventh goal of the season during the third period of Friday's 5-2 loss to the Jets.
Analysis: While the Jets dominated this game, they were also pretty sloppy with the puck in their own end. Nick Bjugstad was a beneficiary of that sloppy play as he picked up a loose puck the Jets left in their own zone and pumped it him to pull the Panthers within two early in the third period. He now has seven goals and seven assists through 31 games this season.

Panthers' Bjugstad Scores Winner

News: Nick Bjugstad scored the game-winning goal Sunday against the Canadiens.
Analysis: Nick Bjugstad is a 21-year-old rookie with six goals and 13 points in 28 games. Given how poor the Panthers are, he should get the chance to play this year, but his best days are ahead of him.

Panthers' Bjugstad Earning His Keep

News: Nick Bjugstad's solid play this season has made it likely that he will stick with the Panthers for the entire season, reports the Miami Herald.
Analysis: The 21-year-old Minnesota native is having a breakout year of sorts, with 12 points in 26 games thus far. The more impressive fact is that he has posted a plus-2 rating on a Panthers team that 's given up the third-most goals in the entire NHL. Nick Bjugstad has tremendous value in dynasty leagues and has some in deeper yearly leagues moving forward as well.

Panthers' Bjugstad Scores Goal In Loss

News: Nick Bjugstad scored his second goal of the season in Saturday's loss to the Senators.
Analysis: Nick Bjugstad paced the Panthers with five shots on goal while winning six of his nine faceoffs. Perhaps most notable was the fact that he saw 18:35 of ice time, by far his most of the season. Though it was just his first game at the helm, new coach Pete Horachek could be open to the idea of increasing the 21-year-old center's ice time in subsequent games with the Panthers likely more concerned about developing their young players than chasing a playoff spot.

News: Nick Bjugstad tallied his first goal of the season on Sunday night as the Panthers fell to the Lightning 4-3 in a shootout.
Analysis: Nick Bjugstad now has a goal and an assist through six games this season. He's a must-own in dynasty formats and has the potential to contribute 20-30 points this season.

Bjugstad To Play In Panthers' Top-Six Friday

News: Nick Bjugstad will play on a line with Jonathan Huberdeau and Sean Bergenheim on Friday night against Buffalo.
Analysis: Nick Bjugstad has the size and skill to dominate at the NHL level, but has not been able to put things together early in his career. He has only recorded one assist in four games this season, but should see an increase in production if he begins to see regular time with Huberdeau.
