Blues' Jaskin Scores In Win

News: Dmitrij Jaskin scored his 13th goal of the season Saturday in a 4-2 win over Minnesota. He was plus-1, had four PIM, and added one shot, two hits, and a blocked shot in the contest.
Analysis: Dmitrij Jaskin scored in back-to-back games after going more than a month without a goal. His blend of skill and physical play should keep him in the Blues' lineup for the playoffs.

Blues' Jaskin Scores In Win

News: Dmitrij Jaskin scored his 12th goal of the season on the power play Thursday in a 2-1 win over Chicago. He took five shots and added three hits and two blocked shots in the contest.
Analysis: Dmitrij Jaskin's offensive production has slowed down quite a bit - since the start of March he has just two goals and an assist in 18 games and he was a healthy scratch recently. His physical play gives the Blues an edge when he is in the lineup, so he should be expected to be an important part of their playoff push.

Blues Make Jaskin A Healthy Scratch Tuesday

News: Dmitrij Jaskin will be a healthy scratch for Tuesday's game against the Penguins, Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. "He's a young guy that needs to watch for a game, then get back in the next game and get playing again," Hitchcock said of Jaskin. "He's a young guy that's learning how to play in a top nine role, he's hit the wall a little bit, so hit the reset button, come back and play on Saturday."
Analysis: With Dmitrij Jaskin failing to tally a mark on the score sheet for the last 10 games, he'll head to the press box for the first time since Jan. 17. Chris Porter will step in as his replacement Tuesday, but as Hitchcock alluded to, expect to see Jaskin play again Saturday versus the Blue Jackets.

Blues' Jaskin Scores In Loss

News: Dmitrij Jaskin scored his 11th goal of the season on the power play Sunday in a 6-5 loss to Vancouver. He was minus-1, took seven shots and added three hits in the contest.
Analysis: Dmitrij Jaskin is emerging as a an offensive weapon for the Blues (seven of his 11 goals have come since February 1) and getting rewarded with better assignments. His overall ice time and his time on the power play have increased steadily resulting in more than 1:20 of ice with the man advantage each of the last four games. He remains a depth guy in most fantasy leagues, but he is second on the Blues in goals per 60 minutes played and could earn more ice time with his recent performance.

Blues' Jaskin Hits 10-Goal Mark In Win

News: Dmitrij Jaskin scored his 10th goal of the season in Saturday's win over the Oilers.
Analysis: While he's only got 14 points in 35 games, the 21-year-old is emerging as a lethal goal-scorer. Skating on a line with Paul Stastny and playing on the top power-play unit, Dmitrij Jaskin is an emerging fantasy threat who is worth looking at in deeper formats.

Blues' Jaskin Scores In Loss

News: Dmitrij Jaskin scored his ninth goal of the season Saturday in a 4-2 loss to Pittsburgh. He was plus-2, took four shots, and added four hits and a blocked shot on the night.
Analysis: Dmitrij Jaskin continues to make an impression with his physical play and offensive ability when given the chance. On a per 60 minute basis at even strength he has been the Blues' seventh most effective player registering 1.9 points. He remains a deeper league play at the moment, but he's worth keeping an eye on considering the depth of the Blues' talent.

Blues' Jaskin Scores In Win

News: Dmitrij Jaskin scored his eighth goal of the season on the power play Thursday in a win over the Lightning. He was plus-1, added two PIM, took seven shots, and added three hits.
Analysis: Dmitrij Jaskin filled the scoresheet in this one and scored for the second consecutive game. He has found the back of the net four times since February 1, as he clicks with linemates Patrik Berglund and Paul Stastny.

Blues' Jaskin Scores Winner Monday

News: Dmitrij Jaskin scored the winning goal -- his seventh on the season overall -- in Monday's win over the Coyotes. It was his only shot in the game, but he registered five hits and a blocked shot in the contest.
Analysis: Dmitrij Jaskin has worked his way onto the third line for the Blues and put up 11 points and 39 shots in 27 games. He is throwing his body around too, registering 75 hits, which will be useful in deeper leagues.

Blues' Jaskin Scores In Shutout Win

News: Dmitrij Jaskin netted his sixth goal of the season Thursday, helping the Blues to a 3-0 win over the Sabres.
Analysis: Dmitrij Jaskin received a quick pass from Chris Butler and tucked the puck in the goal with a nifty wraparound. There is plenty of upside with Jaskin as a top prospect for the Blues, winners of seven straight games, so consider giving him a look if you need a budget skater.

Blues' Jaskin A Likely Scratch Thursday

News: Dmitrij Jaskin will likely be a healthy scratch for Thursday's game against the Red Wings, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.
Analysis: Coach Ken Hichcock is looking to get Joakim Lindstrom back in the lineup, and it looks like Dmitrij Jaskin will be the casualty due to his unimpressive performances of late. He's failed to tally a point over the last three games, firing off only three shots while going minus-2.

Blues' Jaskin Scores In Win

News: Dmitrij Jaskin scored his fourth goal of the season Saturday in a win over San Jose. He was plus-2, took three shots, and added three hits in the game.
Analysis: Dmitrij Jaskin has six points in 14 games and has thrown his weight around with 34 hits in his time in the NHL. The 21 year-old has some offensive upside - he put up 15 points in 18 games with AHL Chicago. He is rolling on the Blues third line with Patrick Berglund and Paul Stastny, which will give him an opportunity to keep contributing. He could be worth a look in deeper formats.

Blues' Jaskin Getting Points

News: Dmitrij Jaskin recorded an assist and chipped in with five hits defensively in Saturday's loss to the Stars.
Analysis: Since being recalled Dec. 17, Dmitrij Jaskin has produced a goal and two assists in four games. Though Jaskin currently finds himself on the third line, the Blues' trio of him, Patrik Berglund and Paul Stastny is superior to most teams, which should result in favorable matchups going forward for the young winger. In very deep leagues, he might be worth a roll of the dice.

Blues Recall Jaskin From AHL Chicago

News: Dmitrij Jaskin was recalled from AHL Chicago on Wednesday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Dmitrij Jaskin will provide the Blues with offensive depth while Jaden Schwartz is week-to-week with a foot injury. He has one point in six contests with the team earlier this year.

Blues Reassign Jaskin

News: Dmitrij Jaskin was reassigned to AHL Chicago on Thursday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: It sounds like the Blues could get T.J. Oshie (concussion) back in their lineup Thursday against the Sabres, or at least in the very near future, eliminating the necessity for the Blues to keep Dmitrij Jaskin around. Though the young winger has little left to prove in the minors, the Blues' glut of forward talent will require another injury for him to get some run with the NHL squad. He supplied one goal in the six games he played with the Blues during his latest stint.

Blues' Jaskin Nets Game-Winning Goal

News: Dmitrij Jaskin recorded the game-winning goal in Saturday's win over Chicago.
Analysis: The 21-year-old prospect skated on the third line Saturday, also recording three shots on goal and three hits in 11:46 of ice time. With Paul Statsny (shoulder) on injured reserve, this is Dmitrij Jaskin's time to establish himself with the Blues. Take note, though: Jaskin wasn't used on the power play Saturday, and has just 20 NHL games under his belt. If he remains on the third line, don't expect impressive point totals just yet.

Blues Recall Jaskin

News: Dmitrij Jaskin was recalled from AHL Chicago on Friday, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.
Analysis: He'll fill the roster spot vacated by Paul Stastny's move to injured reserve. The 21-year-old Dmitrij Jaskin is considered one of the Blues' best forward prospects and likely played well enough in training camp to earn a spot on the opening night roster, but the team's existing depth on the wing didn't work to his advantage. However, now that Stastny's out of commission, an opportunity could exist for Jaskin to grab a regular role with the Blues.

Blues Assign Jaskin To Minors

News: Dmitrij Jaskin was assigned to AHL Chicago on Tuesday, Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: GM Doug Armstrong indicated that Dmitrij Jaskin did enough to earn a roster spot; there just wasn't any room for him in a non-checking line role, which wouldn't have been ideal duty for a scorer who's still developing. The fact that he didn't need to clear waivers to return to Chicago further influenced the team's decision to demote him. The 21-year-old could be a top-six forward for the Blues eventually, but it doesn't look like that will materialize this season.
