Stars' Klingberg Sinks Canucks In OT

News: John Klingberg scored the overtime-winning goal Saturday against Vancouver.
Analysis: It was a perfect shot from the 22-year-old, who now has 11 goals and 38 points in 59 games. While his goal Saturday was his first in 22 games, the youngster has been logging heavy minutes for the Stars and has been steadily dishing out the assists. Playing on the top power-play unit with Tyler Seguin, John Klingberg has emerged as a lethal offensive defenseman who is playing a key role for a Stars team that has won five of their last six games.

Thursday Return Confirmed For Stars' Klingberg

News: John Klingberg (upper body) has been confirmed to return to the lineup Thursday against the Penguins.
Analysis: The Stars signed off on John Klingberg's return to duty after he was able to practice without any complications Wednesday. The rookie blueliner has missed the team's previous three games with the injury.

Stars' Klingberg Poised To Return

News: John Klingberg (upper body) should be ready to return for Thursday's game against the Penguins, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Analysis: John Klingberg was held out of Sunday's game against the Blues, but appears to be poised to return to action Thursday, a notion supported by the Stars' move on Monday to assign fellow blueliner Jamie Oleksiak to AHL Texas.

Stars' Klingberg Still Sidelined

News: John Klingberg (upper body) won't play Sunday against the Blues, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.
Analysis: John Klingberg had been viewed as probable for the contest, though at this stage it's unclear if the Stars are simply playing it safe here, or if the blueliner has suffered a setback.

Stars' Klingberg Probable For Sunday

News: John Klingberg (upper body) is probable to play Sunday against the Blues, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: John Klingberg missed the Stars' previous two games with the injury, but evidently showcased enough progress Saturday for the team to provide an optimistic outlook on his status. After spending the first month of the season in the AHL, the rookie has emerged as a late contender for the Calder Trophy, tallying 10 goals and 36 points in 53 games. His return will provide a huge lift to a Stars blue line that is still without one of its top scorers in Trevor Daley (lower body).

Stars' Klingberg Will Sit Again Friday

News: John Klingberg (upper body) will miss a second consecutive game Friday against the Blue Jackets, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.
Analysis: It doesn't appear that John Klingberg has been able to resume skating since leaving Tuesday's game against the Flyers with the injury. The Stars are still labeling the blueliner as day-to-day, so he'll remain questionable to play in the team's following game Sunday versus the Blues.

Stars' Klingberg Officially Ruled Out

News: John Klingberg (upper body) has officially been ruled out of Thursday's game against the Hurricanes, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.
Analysis: As coach Lindy Ruff indicated earlier, John Klingberg is still hurting from the upper-body injury he suffered in Tuesday's win over the Flyers and will be forced to sit out. Jason Demers (illness) will assume Klingberg's spot in the lineup. It would seem unlikely that Klingberg will be ready to play Friday against the Capitals, but the Stars will likely check in with him that morning before reaching a verdict on his status.

Stars' Klingberg Doubtful For Thursday

News: Coach Lindy Ruff said John Klingberg (upper body) is doubtful to play Thursday against the Hurricanes, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.
Analysis: The Stars are still treating John Klingberg as a game-time decision, but it doesn't look as though fantasy owners should count on him participating in the warmups Thursday. The rookie blueliner, who has been a fantasy stud since arriving in the NHL in November, could be replaced in the lineup by Jason Demers, who was scratched from Tuesday's game against Flyers due with an illness.

Stars' Klingberg A Game-Time Decision For Thursday

News: John Klingberg (lower body) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's tilt with the Hurricanes, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.
Analysis: John Klingberg exited Tuesday's game against the Flyers in the third period after taking a hit from the Flyers' Zac Rinaldo to the upper-body area. It doesn't sound like he's dealing with a significant injury, but for the second straight contest, it looks like his availability could come down to the wire. The Stars could provide an update on Klingberg's condition during Thursday's morning skate.

Jets' Klingberg Leaves With Upper-Body Injury

News: John Klingberg left Tuesday's game against the Flyers in the third period with an upper-body injury, Mark Stepneski of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: John Klingberg was a game-time decision heading into Tuesday's tilt due to a lower-body injury, and though he was ultimately able to suit up, he may have left the contest with a more serious issue. He was the recipient of a vicious hit from the Flyers' Zac Rinaldo, who wasn't charged a penalty on the play but may be hearing from the league office nonetheless. In addition to leaving the game with the injury, Klingberg saw his four-game point streak come to an end, but that's the least of his or the Stars' concerns right now. Expect the team to provide an update on his condition prior to Thursday's tilt with the Hurricanes.

Stars' Klingberg Will Play Tuesday

News: John Klingberg (lower body) will play Tuesday against the Flyers.
Analysis: The rookie blueliner's availability wasn't confirmed until the Stars released their official lineup for Tuesday's game, but it appears he won't be forced to miss any action after suffering the lower-body injury in Saturday's loss to the Lightning. His availability is a huge boon for the Stars, who are already down a top-scoring blueliner in Trevor Daley (lower body) due to injury. John Klingberg will put a four-game point streak on the line against the Flyers.

Klingberg (Lower Body) Could Play Tuesday

News: John Klingberg (lower body) is considered day-to-day and coach Lindy Ruff is hopeful he can play Tuesday, Mark Stepneski of the Stars' official site reports.
Analysis: John Klingberg exited Saturday's contest against the Lightning, but luckily the injury appears to be minor. He practiced with the team Monday, but his status for Tuesday's game hasn't been confirmed. His official status should be released at some point Tuesday prior to the opening face-off.

Stars' Klingberg Suffers Lower-Body Injury

News: John Klingberg suffered a lower-body injury in Saturday's loss to the Lightning, Mark Stepneski of the Stars' website reports.
Analysis: It's not exactly clear what type of setback John Klingberg is dealing with, but head coach Lindy Ruff considers him "day-to-day," so consider him questionable for Dallas' next game Tuesday.

Stars' Klingberg Active In Win

News: John Klingberg dished out an assist and claimed four PIM in Tuesday's win over the Islanders.
Analysis: John Klingberg typically doesn't offer many contributions in the PIM category, but the points have been flying in rapidly since his promotion to the big club in November. The rookie has already established himself as one of the best fantasy defenseman out there, producing an impressive 10 goals and 24 assists in 52 games. Though he hasn't found the net since Feb. 5, Klingberg has maintained value by claiming nine of his helpers since that time. He's quickly making up ground on the Preds' Filip Forsberg for the Calder Trophy.

Stars' Klingberg On Four-Game Streak

News: John Klingberg had an assist and 24:03 of ice time in Wednesday's win over the Bruins.
Analysis: John Klingberg is working his way into the Calder discussion. He has a goal and four assists in his last four games. If you stretch that out, he has four goals and seven assists in his last seven games. The rookie has 10 goals and 14 assists through 40 games this season, which includes two power-play goals, two game-winning goals, and a plus-10 rating. Klingberg is also logging solid minutes. He has 12 straight games over the 20-minute threshold and has only been below that mark 11 times in 40 games. If you took a chance on Klingberg, you're laughing all the way to the playoffs.

Stars' Klingberg: Nine Points In Last Five Games

News: John Klingberg set up both Dallas goals in a 3-2 loss to Buffalo on Saturday night.
Analysis: There's a fire burning in the state of Texas and it's name is John Klingberg. After enduring a bit of an offensive lull earlier in the season, he has chalked up nine points (four goals, five assists) in his last five games. We better start talking about this guy in Calder trophy discussions. He's that good.

News: John Klingberg pushed his goal total to double digits Thursday, striking for his 10th of the year in a 5-3 loss to Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Wow, this guy's good. With four goals and three assists in his last four contests, John Klingberg's been everything fantasy owners could have asked for and more as he continues to build an outstanding rookie season.

Stars' Klingberg Records Three PP Points In Win

News: John Klingberg recorded a goal and two assists on the power play and added an even-strength tally in Saturday's win over Winnipeg.
Analysis: What a monster night for the 22-year-old, who logged 22:23 of ice time, including a whopping 7:17 of man advantage time. He's got five goals and 11 points in his last eight games, giving him 24 points in 35 games on the season. This rising stud has had seven multi-point outings this season and is playing on the top power-play unit with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn. Do you really need any more reasons to grab him off the waiver wire? Snag him while you can, as he's the real deal.

Stars' Klingberg Tallies Winner, Gets Assist

News: John Klingberg recorded a power-play assist and the game-winning goal in Thursday's 6-3 victory over the Senators.
Analysis: John Klingberg put the Stars on top for good with an unassisted tally, his seventh marker of the season. The 22-year-old hasn't been shy about looking for his own offense since arriving in Big D, racking up 55 shots in 34 games en route to 20 points and a plus-8 rating. That's good enough to warrant a roster spot in most leagues.

Stars' Klingberg Stays Hot With Two Points

News: John Klingberg dished out a pair of assists in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Blackhawks.
Analysis: John Klingberg is on a roll lately as he's now turned in five points in his last four contests, including two multi-point efforts. The blueliner has had an impressive rookie campaign and now has 18 points through just 31 games to go along with a plus-9 rating. The 22-year-old has already exceeded expectations this year and should be a reliable option among defensemen going forward.

Stars' Klingberg Scores Two

News: John Klingberg helped power the Stars' comeback on Tuesday, scoring the game-tying goal and then what turned out to be the game-winner as part of a four-goal second period against the Senators.
Analysis: Man, this kid is impressive. He'd hit the skids over the last three, going minus-4 without a point, but bounced back in a big way in this one, including turning out his most physical play of the year with four hits (a season high) and two blocks. He's still hovering right around 20 minutes of ice time on average; as his game develops, he may be entrusted with even heavier minutes. Eventually, John Klingberg will develop into one of the NHL's premier offensive threats from the blue line. He's already one of the more intriguing fantasy defensemen.

News: John Klingberg had a team-leading plus-3 rating in Wednesday's win over Arizona.

Klingberg Snaps Slump, Scores In Stars Win

News: John Klingberg had a power play goal in Monday's win over the Rangers.
Analysis: John Klingberg, who started his career on fire by potting three goals and five assists in his first eight games, hadn't scored in 12 games before Monday's goal. He's still seeing lots of ice time and solid power play minutes. He's an interesting depth play even though it's not clear how consistent his production will be.
