Dumoulin Re-Signs With Penguins

News: Brian Dumoulin signed a two-year (one-way), $1.6 million contract with the Penguins on Thursday.
Analysis: Brian Dumoulin was forced into action with the big club last season after the Penguins defensive corps suffered a number of injuries, scoring one goal in the eight regular season games he played with Pittsburgh in 2014-15. He also suited up for all five games of the Penguins' first round playoff series against the Rangers, giving the 23-year-old defender some valuable postseason experience. He will have a chance to cement himself as the Penguins' fifth or sixth defender in training camp. Dumoulin registered 33 points in 62 with AHL Wilkes-Barre Scranton last season.

Pens Reassign Dumoulin

News: Brian Dumoulin was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre Scranton on Sunday.
Analysis: Brian Dumoulin was pushed into the starting lineup following multiple injuries along the blue line, making his NHL playoff debut with the Penguins. Following a series loss to the Rangers, he will head back to the AHL for some extra playoff action in the minors.

Penguins Recall Dumoulin

News: The Penguins recalled Brian Dumoulin from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday.
Analysis: Brian Dumoulin, who notched 33 points in 62 AHL games this season, returns to the big club to provide some blueline depth for the playoffs. In eight regular games for the Penguins in 2014-15, Dumoulin tallied one goal.

Pens Send Dumoulin To AHL

News: Brian Dumoulin was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday.
Analysis: The demotions Tuesday of Brian Dumoulin and Dominik Uher signal that two of Beau Bennett (knee), Christian Ehrhoff (lower body), and Craig Adams (undisclosed) will be set to rejoin the lineup for the New Year's Eve match against the Hurricanes. Dumoulin ended up seeing 19:51 of ice time Monday night, failing to make much of a mark on the score sheet.

Pens Recall Dumoulin

News: The Penguins recalled Brian Dumoulin from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Monday.
Analysis: Brian Dumoulin was just sent back down to the AHL on Sunday after a stint with the Pens, but it sounds like that move was nothing more than a financial move. The blueliner has recorded one goal in seven games with Pittsburgh, and could be in the lineup against the Devils on Monday.

Pens Send Dumoulin To AHL

News: Brian Dumoulin was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday, Pens' beat writer Shelly Anderson reports.
Analysis: Brian Dumoulin had seen a fair share of ice time since being recalled, but the Pens have decided to send him back to the AHL, which could signify the anticipated return of another blueliner Monday. In seven games with the Pens, he averaged 15:04 of ice time and recorded a goal.

Pens' Dumoulin Scores First NHL Goal Monday

News: Brian Dumoulin rebounded from a poor showing in his last game with his first NHL goal against Tampa Bay on Monday.
Analysis: Not surprising, he saw the fewest minutes (12:43) among Pittsburgh's blueliners. But Brian Dumoulin played much better than he did versus the Rangers, when his mistakes led to two New York goals. The 23-year-old, who totaled 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 21 AHL games, is thought to be more of a two-way defenseman than as an offensive producer. His name has also been mentioned in trade talks, given Pittsburgh's plethora of blue-line talent. Although coach Mike Johnston said Tuesday that he wants to get Scott Harrington into an NHL game (as soon as Thursday), Dumoulin is making it difficult to sit him.

Pens' Dumoulin Gets Chance Thursday

News: Brian Dumoulin made his season debut Thursday, skating 22 even-strength shifts which totaled just over 15 minutes (15:08 TOI) of ice time.
Analysis: He saw no special teams play in the 3-0 loss. Brian Dumoulin will likely see action again Saturday as Robert Bortuzzo serves the second game of his two-game suspension. At that point, Pittsburgh will likely send him back to Wilkes-Barre -- barring further injuries to the blue line.

Pens Recall Dumoulin

News: Brian Dumoulin has been recalled from the AHL by the Penguins.
Analysis: Playing in all 22 games at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season, Brian Dumoulin has 10 points (two goals, eight assists) and a plus-16 rating -- tying him for the AHL lead in the latter category. There's no immediate word regarding how the Pens might fit him into the lineup against the Devils on Tuesday night.
