Knight Inks One-Year Deal With Panthers

News: Corban Knight signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Panthers on Tuesday.
Analysis: The Panthers are shallow at forward, so this signing provides them with some much-needed depth up front. Corban Knight played in 58 AHL games last season, tallying 36 points over that span.

Flames Trade For Knight

News: Corban Knight was traded to the Panthers on Friday, NHL.com's Aaron Vickers reports.
Analysis: The Flames received Drew Shore in exchange for Corban Knight in the trade. Both players will report to their new respective AHL teams for the time being. The Panthers originally took Knight in the fifth round of the 2009 NHL draft, and then the Flames acquired him for a fourth-round draft pick in 2013. Knight has tallied 12 points through 22 games with AHL Adirondack this season.

Flames' Knight Reassigned

News: Corban Knight was reassigned to AHL Adirondack on Wednesday.
Analysis: The 24-year-old's demotion appears to signal that either Mason Raymond (upper body) or Matt Stajan (knee) is ready to return from injured reserve. Corban Knight had two points in 11 games for the Flames while playing primarily on their fourth line.

Flames Bring Back Knight

News: Corban Knight was recalled from AHL Adirondack on Thursday, NHL.com's Aaron Vickers reports.
Analysis: Corban Knight was assigned to Adirondack just a day earlier, but it sounds like he never left the team. The Flames were simply waiting for Devin Setoguchi to clear waivers, and since that situation is now resolved, Knight will take his spot back on the 23-man roster.

Flames Reassign Knight

News: Corban Knight was reassigned to AHL Adirondack on Wednesday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analysis: With the Flames activating David Jones from injured reserve Wednesday, Corban Knight was dropped from the 23-man roster in order to make room for him. The 24-year-old had appeared in the last two games for Calgary as their fourth-line center. Knight could be back up with the big club once Devin Setoguchi clears waivers or gets claimed Thursday.

Flames Recall Knight

News: Corban Knight was recalled by Calgary on Friday, Scott Cruickshank of the Calgary Herald reports.
Analysis: With Matt Stajan and Mikael Backlund still recovering from injuries, and a lackluster performance from Max Reinhart through four games, Corban Knight will likely get a chance to center the Flames' fourth line. In seven career NHL games Knight has scored one goal with a minus-1 rating.

Flames Send Knight To Minors

News: Corban Knight was reassigned to AHL Adirondack on Wednesday, NHL.com's Aaron Vickers reports.
Analysis: The former University of North Dakota standout saw action in seven games with the Flames last season, but was otherwise a fixture in the minors. It should be more of the same for him in 2014-15, with little more than a bottom-six role waiting for him with the Flames on the few occasions he receives a promotion.
