Wings' Pulkkinen Pots Two In Win

News: Teemu Pulkkinen potted two goals in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Teemu Pulkkinen's multi-goal effort was the first of his career, and the second multi-point effort for the 23-year-old after collecting a goal and an assist in last week's win over the Oilers. The young winger has the potential to help out fantasy owners in the future, but with just six points on the year he's unlikely to be on anyone's radar in standard formats.

Wings' Pulkkinen Gathers Two Points In Win

News: Teemu Pulkkinen registered a goal and an assist in Monday's 5-2 win over the Oilers.
Analysis: Playing in his second game since being recalled once again, Teemu Pulkkinen's two-point effort doubles his season total. The 23-year-old has found success at the AHL level, tallying 61 points in 46 games, but he's had a tougher time with the big league club. With just four points, Pulkkinen doesn't have much fantasy value this season, but he could going forward.

Wings Call Up Pulkkinen

News: The Red Wings recalled Teemu Pulkkinen from AHL Grand Rapids on Saturday, Ansar Khan of MLive reports.
Analysis: Teemu Pulkkinen was reassigned to the minors Monday and promptly scored four goals over his next two games with Grand Rapids, convincing the Red Wings to give him another look. While he's dominated at the AHL level this season, Pulkkinen hasn't found nearly as much success with Detroit, tallying two goals over 12 games. However, with the team still searching for an impact winger to join their top-six ranks, Pulkkinen may get another opportunity to showcase his skills in that role.

Red Wings Reassign Pulkkinen

News: Teemu Pulkkinen was reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Monday, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: Sunday's acquisition of Erik Cole from the Stars along with Henrik Zetterberg's impending return from a head injury likely motivated the decision to send Teemu Pulkkinen back to the AHL. He's appeared in 12 games across two separate stints with the Red Wings this season, scoring two goals on 27 shot attempts.

Detroit's Pulkkinen Iffy For Monday

News: Teemu Pulkkinen (leg) is a game-time decision for Monday's game against the Ducks, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: With Teemu Pulkkinen iffy and Henrik Zetterberg doubtful for the game, Daniel Cleary and Joakim Andersson are candidates to fill in up front for the Wings on Monday.

Red Wings' Pulkkinen (Leg) Will Play Monday

News: Teemu Pulkkinen (leg) will play Monday against the Ducks, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: After missing Sunday's practice, Teemu Pulkkinen was labeled a game-time call, but he's been given the green light by the medical staff, and he'll be available against the Ducks. Pulkkinen has only one point in eight games this season.

Wings' Pulkkinen Day-To-Day

News: Teemu Pulkkinen did not practice Sunday and is considered day-to-day, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: Teemu Pulkkinen's injury occurred when he collided with a Stars player Saturday, an he will reportedly be evaluated again Monday, and his status for the game against the Ducks should be updated at that point. He and Henrik Zetterberg are in the same note, so it's possible the Red Wings will need to recall a forward for the contest if neither are able to go.

Wings' Pulkkinen Could Get Chance On Top Line

News: Teemu Pulkkinen was skating on the Red Wings' top line alongside Henrik Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader at Tuesday's practice, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: Teemu Pulkkinen has been sensational in the AHL this season, leading the league with 30 goals and 57 points, but his impact was muted during a six-game stint with the Red Wings earlier this season. The team will see if a deployment on the top trio could ignite some production, making it worthwhile for those in deeper leagues to take note of Pulkkinen over the next few contests. If he begins to shine right away upon his return to the NHL, he might not be headed back to the minors again.

Red Wings Recall Pulkkinen

News: The Red Wings recalled Teemu Pulkkinen from AHL Grand Rapids on Tuesday, Mlive.com reports.
Analysis: Per the report, Teemu Pulkkinen, who tops the AHL in both goals (30) and points (57) through 44 games, could replace Tomas Jurco in the Wings' lineup, with the team looking for some added offense up front.

Wings Send Pulkkinen Down

News: Teemu Pulkkinen has been sent down to AHL Grand Rapids, the Red Wings' official Twitter feed reports.
Analysis: Teemu Pulkkinen scored his first NHL goal Tuesday but with Johan Franzen's return imminent, someone had to be sent down. Pulkkinen performed a little better than in previous call-ups, but still didn't do enough to stay up. He's dominating the AHL with 39 points but it remains to be seen whether he'll be able to translate that consistently to the NHL.

Wings' Pulkkinen Scores First NHL Goal

News: Despite skating just 7:25 Tuesday, Teemu Pulkkinen scored the first goal (and point) of his NHL career in a shootout win over the Wild.
Analysis: A nice little game for Teemu Pulkkinen, but his contributions will remain quite limited while he's stuck in a depth role. He'll likely shuttle back to AHL Grand Rapids when Johan Franzen (upper body) gets healthy. The 23-year-old Finn has dominated the AHL this year, with 20 goals and 39 points in 33 games, but he's not quite ready for his NHL breakout.

Red Wings Recall Pulkkinen From Minors

News: Teemu Pulkkinen was recalled from AHL Grand Rapids on Thursday, MLive.com's Brendan Savage reports.
Analysis: The Red Wings brought Teemu Pulkkinen aboard after Johan Franzen (upper body) was moved to injured reserve, keeping him out for at least the next two games. Pulkinnen is the AHL goals leader with 20 in 33 games, but it's probably a more optimal strategy to wait and see how his production translates with the Red Wings rather than picking him up on speculation.

Wings' Pulkkinen Scores Twice In AHL Friday

News: Teemu Pulkkinen scored twice in Grand Rapids' (AHL) 5-4 loss to Lake Erie on Friday.
Analysis: With his two markers on Friday, Teemu Pulkkinen now has eight goals and 16 points in his first 14 games this season. The undersized winger has a ton of offensive ability and seems capable of handling a top-six role should the Detroit brass decide to give him a look later in the season.
