Stars' Hemsky Adds Two Helpers

News: Ales Hemsky added a pair of assists in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Oilers.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky has struggled for much of the season, having been a healthy scratch earlier in December, but now has three points in four games since returning to the lineup. The 31-year-old now has 10 points on the season and should only be considered in deeper formats.

Dallas To Scratch Hemsky For Second Straight

News: Ales Hemsky looks to be a healthy scratch for the second straight game Tuesday versus the Jets, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky will head to the press box for the third time this season with his production having yet to take off during his first season in Dallas. The winger has seven points and a minus-12 rating through 25 games and could become a regular healthy scratch if he doesn't get hot immediately upon his return to the lineup.

Stars' Hemsky Expected To Be Healthy Scratch

News: Ales Hemsky is expected to be a healthy scratch Saturday against the Canadiens, James Mirtle of the Globe & Mail reports.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky stayed on the ice for additional work at the end of morning skate -- standard procedure for healthy scratches. His career with the Stars is off to a disappointing start, with two goals, five assists and a minus-12 rating through 25 games.

Stars' Hemsky Could Be Healthy Scratch Saturday

News: Ales Hemsky could be a healthy scratch Saturday against the Canadiens.
Analysis: While coach Lindy Ruff said that Ales Hemsky is available to play, the winger skated hard for a long time after Saturday's morning session concluded, an indication he will not suit up. It would be Hemsky's second healthy scratch of the season.

Stars' Hemsky Gets Goal In Loss

News: Ales Hemsky added a goal to his ledger in Tuesday's loss to the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky was slated to open the game on the top line with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin, but it appears coach Lindy Ruff was shuffling in a variety of players on that trio the top game. Even so, it's encouraging to see Hemsky begin to dig himself out of his rough open to the season. He's notched two goals and nine shot attempts over his last three games.

Stars' Hemsky Scores First Goal

News: Ales Hemsky scored his first goal of the season and had five shots on goal in 13:32 of ice time in Friday's loss to Minnesota.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky showed off a nice move to get past Ryan Suter and get a shot off on his goal. Unfortunately those moments are rare this season as he has just six points in 22 games.

Stars' Hemsky Assists Twice In Win

News: Ales Hemsky handed out a pair of assists in Thursday's win over Arizona.
Analysis: While it's nice to see that the veteran winger now has three helpers in his last three games, he only owns four assists for the season and has yet to score a goal. Fantasy owners in most leagues can probably do better than the injury-prone Ales Hemsky.

Stars Likely To Scratch Hemsky On Thursday

News: Ales Hemsky will likely be a healthy scratch Thursday against the Kings, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky didn't skate on a regular line during the Stars' morning session and remained on the ice for extra work afterward, suggesting he'll be in the press box Thursday. The forward, who told Heika that he doesn't believe he's been a healthy scratch ever at any point in his career, didn't fault coach Lindy Ruff decision to consider keeping him out of the lineup. Hemsky simply hasn't lived up to expectations after signing with the Stars in the summer, as he's provided no goals and one assist over 15 games.

Hemsky Continues To Struggle In Dallas

News: Ales Hemsky had one shot and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's loss to the Sharks. That's the 13th straight game without a point for Hemsky.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky was supposed to have instant chemistry with Jason Spezza, but after getting an assist in the season opener, he's gone without a point in the following 13 games. His struggles saw him land in the bottom six for a while, though now he's back on a line with Spezza. During his 13-game pointless streak he has just 18 shots, with eight of those coming in a single game. Hemsky should be played with caution until he proves that he's going to produce.

Stars' Hemsky Set To Play Tuesday

News: Ales Hemsky (upper body) was a full participant at morning skate and appears poised to play Tuesday against the Kings, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky was forced out early in Saturday's game against the Wild with the injury, but it doesn't sound like he'll have to miss any further action because of it. He rejoined Jason Spezza and Erik Cole on the second line at morning skate.

Stars' Hemsky Has Upper-Body Injury

News: Ales Hemsky suffered an upper-body injury in Saturday's game against the Wild, the Stars' official site reports. He is questionable to return.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky had just one shot on goal before departing. No word yet on the exact nature or severity of the injury.

Stars' Hemsky Impresses In Win

News: Ales Hemsky had his best game of the season Friday, recording a game-high eight shots on goal in a win over the Devils.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky was all over the ice Friday, but couldn't finish any of his chances. Hemsky only has one assist through seven games, but his performance against New Jersey is hopefully a sign of things to come. Hemsky won't put up big numbers skating on the Stars' fourth line, but given his skill set, it won't be long before the 31-year-old winger is moved up the depth chart.

Hemsky Practices On Stars' Fourth Line

News: Ales Hemsky was practicing on the fourth line during Friday's morning skate, according to Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky hasn't been the boon to the Stars offense they were hoping for. Through six games Hemsky has one assist, no goals, a minus-4 rating, and just seven shots. With shaky play and him moving down the lineup, he's looking like a risky fantasy start until he proves otherwise.

Hemsky Signs With Stars

News: The Stars have signed Ales Hemsky to a contract that is reportedly worth $12 million over the next three years, TSN.ca reports.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky, who notched 43 points in 75 games between the Oilers and Senators in 2013-14, further bolsters the Stars' scoring depth up front after the team traded for Jason Spezza -- his teammate in Ottawa last year -- earlier Tuesday.

Sens, Hemsky Will Part Ways

News: Ales Hemsky will not be back with the Senators next season, the Ottawa Sun reports.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky refused the team's most recent offer, so the two sides will part ways as Hemsky looks for north of $5.5 million per year. He'll become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, and the Senators will have to look elsewhere for another scoring winger.

Hemsky's Future With Sens Uncertain

News: Ales Hemsky finished the season with 13 goals and 30 assists in 75 games.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky was brought over from the Oilers at the trade deadline, and played really well after the trade, racking up 17 points in 20 appearances for the Senators. He'll be an unrestricted free agent this summer, so there's no guarantee he'll be back with Ottawa, but if the team can manage to keep him and Jason Spezza together, Hemsky could be a valuable fantasy asset in 2014-15.

Hemsky's Three Points Help Power Sens

News: Ales Hemsky assisted on Jason Spezza's two goals (one on the power play) and scored one of his own in Tuesday's win over the Islanders.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky continues to look like a new man since coming over to Ottawa, having posted 16 points in 17 contests. He's also got a break-even rating as a Senator after Tuesday's plus-1; Hemsky was a career-worst-tying minus-13 with the Oilers prior to being dealt.

Sens' Hemsky Suiting Up Vs. Rangers

News: Ales Hemsky (upper body) will play in Saturday's game against the Rangers, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky wasn't mentioned by name, but the Sens will reportedly have all their players available besides Colin Greening (lower body), with the obvious exception of any skaters that have already been ruled out for the season. Hemsky potted a goal in Friday's game before he left with a minor upper-body injury.

Sens' Hemsky Suffers Upper-Body Injury

News: Ales Hemsky suffered an upper-body injury during Friday's game and will not return, James Gordon of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky at least found twine before he left the game, bringing his points total to 13 (three goals) through 15 appearances with the Senators.

Hemsky Back On Ottawa Scoresheet

News: Ales Hemsky assisted on one of Ottawa's five goals in Friday's win over Chicago, his first point in four games.
Analysis: After Ales Hemsky grabbed seven points in his first four games with the Senators following the deadline day trade, he's essentially vanished. Since that binge, Hemsky has a goal and an assist in seven games. He's been streaky throughout his career, but his skills have never been questioned, just his production. You know what you'll be getting with Hemsky, so don't be surprised to see him vanish here and there.

News: Ales Hemsky had three helpers Monday against the Predators.
Analysis: That is back-to-back games with three assists for Ales Hemsky, who is also now plus-3 since moving from Edmonton to Ottawa.

Sens' Hemsky Dishes Out Three Assists In Win

News: Ales Hemsky assisted on three of the Senators' five goals in Saturday's win over the Jets.
Analysis: Playing in just his second game with the Senators, it didn't take long for Ales Hemsky to settle in and play productively on the wing. Hemsky was initially credited with the first four-assist game by an Ottawa player since Daniel Alfredsson turned the trick in March of 2010, but the official scorekeeper ended up attributing the helper to a different player after further review.

Hemsky To Play For Sens On Wednesday

News: Ales Hemsky, who was traded to the Senators hours earlier, will join the team in Calgary and plans to play in Wednesday's game.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky hasn't had the luxury of practicing with his teammates yet, so it will probably be difficult to get a read for what line he'll ultimately skate on for the Senators in his first game with the team. The Senators are certainly aware of what kind of impact Hemsky can provide offensively, as he scored two goals against Ottawa in his final game with the Oilers on Tuesday.

Senators Acquire Hemsky

News: The Senators acquired Ales Hemsky from the Oilers on Wednesday in exchange for a third-round pick in 2015 and a fifth-round pick in 2014, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky scored two goals against the Senators on Tuesday night, which apparently was enough to entice Ottawa into trading for him. The winger has nine goals and 17 assists in 55 games on the year, and will replace Cory Conacher on the active roster after Conacher was claimed off waivers by the Sabres on Wednesday.

Hemsky Ending Oilers Career On High Note?

News: Ales Hemsky scored two goals -- one on the power play -- Tuesday against Ottawa in what may be his final game with the Oilers.
Analysis: Ales Hemsky has spent 11 seasons in Edmonton, but apparently expects that time to come to an end prior to Wednesday's trade deadline. If this was truly his last game in Edmonton, at least he went out on a high note, as he'd entered the contest in a seven-game slump without a point. Hard to think this performance will significantly boost his trade value, though, as the injury-prone winger still has just nine goals and 26 points in 55 games this year.
