Wild's Heatley Will Play Monday

News: Dany Heatley will be in the lineup against the Avalanche on Monday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Dany Heatley was a healthy scratch in the first two games of the Wild's opening-round playoff series, but will get a chance to dress in Game 3 in an attempt to give the team a spark, considering they're down two games to none. Heatley collected 12 goals and 16 assists in 76 games this season, but also ended with a minus-18 rating.

WIld's Heatley Benched Again

News: Dany Heatley was a healthy scratch for the fifth time in six games in Tuesday's win over Boston.
Analysis: Dany Heatley is back to the bench with Nino Niederreiter returning from an injury. It doesn't look like Heatley is going to have much of a role in the playoffs.

Wild's Heatley Returns To Fourth Line

News: Dany Heatley had two hits and had 8:49 of ice time in Thursday's shootout loss to Chicago.
Analysis: Dany Heatley's play has declined so much that he was benched the previous two games. He was on the fourth line with Mikael Granlund and Nino Niederreiter sidelined with injuries.

Wild's Heatley Stuck On Bench

News: Dany Heatley was a healthy scratch for a second consecutive game in Monday's win over the Kings, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: It's not clear when Dany Heatley will return to the lineup, as he's struggled this season and was minus-7 over his past five games before he was benched.

Wild To Scratch Heatley On Saturday

News: Dany Heatley will be a healthy scratch Saturday against the Coyotes, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Coach Mike Yeo had been close to pulling Dany Heatley from the lineup in recent games, but ultimately chose not to due to the forward's presence on the power-play. However, Heatley's two costly turnovers in Thursday's loss to the Blues left Yeo will no choice but to bench the former star forward, who has a minus-7 rating in his past five games.

Massive Goal Drought For Wild's Heatley

News: Dany Heatley has failed to register a goal in his last 13 games.
Analysis: It's a season-worst slump for Dany Heatley, which is saying a lot, considering his glacially slow start to the campaign. With no sign of Heatley returning to a top-six role anytime soon, it's probably safe to write him off as a useful fantasy commodity in shallow formats at this point in his career.

Wild's Heatley Registers Assist

News: Dany Heatley had an assist in Tuesday's shootout loss to Edmonton.
Analysis: Dany Heatley has been moved to the fourth line with the trades for Matt Moulson and Cody McCormick. Despite the assist, he's getting less playing times with less than ten minutes of ice time the past two games.

Heatley Posts PPG In Minnesota's Loss

News: Dany Heatley scored on the power play and added an assist in Saturday's loss to the Flames in Calgary. His ledger stands at 10-11-21 in 57 contests.
Analysis: This season has been a reverse-breakout; his offense has fallen off the table, even contrasted with his modest output in recent years.

Wild's Heatley Tallies Two Points

News: Dany Heatley scored the game-winning goal and had an assist against the Predators on Sunday.
Analysis: Dany Heatley has four points in his last two games, but he is very much not the player he used to be. He only has nine goals and 17 points on the season and he is a minus-12 as well.

Wild's Heatley Demoted To Fourth Line

News: Dany Heatley was moved to the fourth line from the second line in Thursday's loss to Anaheim. He had just 9:43 of ice time.
Analysis: Dany Heatley had a resurgence with three goals in six games, but he's been scoreless the past three games and looks back into the coach's doghouse.

Wild's Heatley Moves To Top Power-Play Unit

News: Dany Heatley was moved to the Wild's top power-play unit in Wednesday's practice, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Dany Heatley had been on the second unit previously. He got off a slow start to the season, but has turned his play around lately, with three goals in his last six games, and this move can only help his fantasy value.

Wild's Heatley Scores Lone Goal In Loss

News: Dany Heatley scored the Wild's lone goal in Friday's loss to the Avalanche.
Analysis: It's the fourth marker in six games for Dany Heatley, who finally seems to be heating up after a mostly dismal first quarter of the season. If Heatley can at least remain a semi-regular fixture in the scoring column as he's proven to be in the past, the Wild would be able to squeeze out some needed productivity outside of their top six.

Wild's Heatley Scores Fifth Goal

News: Dany Heatley scored his fifth goal of the season in Wednesday's loss to Phoenix. He skated on the Wild's top line with Mikko Koivu and Charlie Coyle with Zach Parise out with a foot injury, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Dany Heatley has just eight points in 26 games this season, but is showing signs of life with three goals and four points in his last five games.

Wild's Heatley Delivers Two Points Wednesday

News: Dany Heatley scored his fourth goal of the season and added an assist in Wednesday's win over the Senators.
Analysis: From an offensive standpoint, it was Dany Heatley's best game of the season, as the veteran forward had yet to deliver more than one point in any one contest prior to Wednesday. Remarkably, the production came in a season-low 9:44 of time on ice. Heatley now has registered a goal in back-to-back games and while that hardly qualifies as a breakthrough, it at least makes him worth keeping a tab on considering his pedigree as a scorer.

WIld's Heatley Scores Second Goal

News: Dany Heatley scored his second goal of the season, a power-play marker in Sunday's win over New Jersey.
Analysis: Dany Heatley has slumped this season, with just four points in 15 games and has even been moved at times to the fourth line, so hopefully this gets him going.

Wild's Heatley Moves To Fourth Line

News: Dany Heatley will be moved the the fourth line with Zenon Konopka and Torrey Mitchell, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Dany Heatley has just one goal and two assists in 14 games. He alternated between the top line and fourth line in an effort to get him out of slump, but it sounds like he may be more relegated to the fourth line on Sunday.

Wild's Heatley Scores First

News: Dany Heatley notched his first goal of the season in Thursday's win over Carolina, a late-third-period power-play tally into an empty net.
Analysis: Well, it took him 11 games, but he finally broke through, albeit with no goalie separating him and the twine. Despite that he's only 32, injuries over the course of his career have turned him into a mere shadow of the superstar who once upon a time posted consecutive 50-goal, 100-point seasons

Wild's Heatley Demoted To Third Line

News: Dany Heatley will play on the third line in Saturday's game Panthers, the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Michael Russo reports.
Analysis: With just one point in eight games this season, Dany Heatley has been an extreme disappointment for the Wild. Coach Mike Yeo hopes the demotion will invigorate Heatley, who did show good rapport with third-liners Kyle Brodziak and Justin Fontaine in training camp. While the move could prove to catalyze Heatley's dormant production, he'll face the challenge of having to do it with less ice time than he previously would have seen as a second-liner.

Wild's Healthy Continues To Slump

News: Dany Heatley continues to struggle as he had just one shot on goal in Tuesday's loss to Toronto. He has no goals, one assist and just 12 shots on goal in seven games this season. However, head coach Mike Yeo said he won't make a major change yet. "The easy thing to do is for us to just give up, but that's not what we're going to do. We're going to keep trying to push him and keep trying to get him better and keep trying to work with him because we know what he's capable of," Yeo told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Analysis: The Wild's second line hasn't scored an even strength goal this season, so Dany Heatley could be demoted to the third or fourth line at some point if his slump continues.

Wild's Heatley Off To Slow Start

News: Dany Heatley is in danger of being demoted from the second line after a slow start to the season, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. He has no points, just six shots and is minus-2 in three games.
Analysis: Dany Heatley's production declined last season and he hasn't show much through three games. Head coach Mike Yeo hasn't indicated he'll change his top two lines, but a shakeup could happen soon with the Wild winless through three games.

WIld's Healtey Posts Assist

News: Dany Heatley (shoulder) had an assist in Thursday's preseason win over Winnipeg.
Analysis: Dany Heatley had season-ending surgery for a torn labrum in April, but it looks like he's back to full strength this preseason and it won't be an issue for the regular season. Heatley's production declined last season even before the injury as his points scored per game declined for the fourth consecutive season. He could rebound if he wins a spot on a scoring line, but it's not clear at this point which of the top three lines he'll play with the most.

Wild's Heatley (Shoulder) Particiaptes In Practice

News: Dany Heatley (shoulder) was on the ice for the Wild's first day of training camp and says he expects to have a strong season. "I'd be very disappointed if I didn't get 30 [goals] at least," Heatley told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "The rehab kind of almost reset me this summer. I had a focus. I had to keep working on [the shoulder], which helped with my other training. I'm lighter this year. I feel quicker. I'm just anxious to get back and be who I can be. I'm refreshed and excited to play."
Analysis: Dany Heatley had season-ending surgery for a torn labrum in April, but it sounds like he's healthy as the preseason begins. Heatley's production declined last season even before the injury as his points scored per game declined for the fourth consecutive season. Still, he'll likely begin the season on one of the Wild's top three lines.

News: Dany Heatley, who underwent shoulder surgery April 8, is feeling good and expects to be ready for training camp, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Wild's Heatley Gets Some Work In

News: Dany Heatley (shoulder) skated alone Monday morning and was spotted shooting pucks, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.
Analysis: The report notes that Dany Heatley -- who underwent shoulder surgery April 8 -- is expected to be out for the playoffs, but hints that the assessment could change if the Wild (who face the top-seeded Blackhawks in Round 1) advance deep into the postseason.

Wild's Heatley Out For The Season

News: Dany Heatley will miss the rest of the season after undergoing left shoulder surgery Tuesday.
Analysis: There was a small chance Dany Heatley would be able to return during the postseason if the Wild advanced far enough, but any hopes of that were put to rest after Heatley went under the knife Tuesday. Though he will not play again this season, he is expected to be back at 100 percent when the 2013-14 campaign gets underway.
