Huselius out again, placed on IR Huselius out again, placed on IR Updated 11/5/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius was scratched from Thursday's game against the Thrashers because of an upper-body injury. He has missed the last two games and was placed on injured reserve retroactive to Nov. 3. Analysis: Huselius has just one goal and no assists in his last five games. Perhaps the upper-body injury has been the culprit for his slump after a good start to the season. Huselius is more of a 20-goal than 30-goal threat, but he can definitely put up points in bunches. Consider him a No. 5 or No. 6 Fantasy forward when healthy.

News: Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius was scratched from Wednesday's game against the Sharks because of an upper-body injury. He is questionable for Thursday against Atlanta.
Huselius won't play Wednesday Huselius won't play Wednesday Updated 11/4/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: The Columbus Dispatch reports that Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius will not play Wednesday. He is dealing with an upper-body injury. Analysis: Huselius has just one point in his last five games and isn't doing anything to shake off his reputation as a streaky guy. He remains worth using in deeper leagues when healthy, so follow his progress the rest of this week.
Huselius lights lamp twice in loss Huselius lights lamp twice in loss Updated 10/23/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius scored twice Thursday in a loss to the Oilers. Analysis: Huselius is off to a nice start this season with eight points in eight games and maybe the inconsistent Swede has a chance to get back to his 70-point potential. Start him in most leagues as a low-end Fantasy forward.

Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius scored a the game-winning goal during Tuesday's 2-1 victory against the Flames. Huselius snapped a low shot from the right side of the goal area at 17:36 of the second for his second. "We didn't have our best period in the first but in the second I thought we played our best period so far this season," Huselius said. "We forechecked hard, we capitalized on our chance on the power play and just kept going at them. That set up the win." Analysis: Huselius has two goals and three assists during a four-game point streak. He is off to a nice start in 2009-10 and continues to look like Columbus' second-best offensive option behind Rick Nash. Huselius can definitely be a streaky player, but he still passes as a viable No. 5 or No. 6 Fantasy forward.
Huselius starts scoring surge Monday Huselius starts scoring surge Monday Updated 10/6/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Kristian Huselius, Rostislav Klesla and Nikita Filatov scored over a 3:44 span early in the second period to chase star Vancouver goaltender Roberto Luongo and lead the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 5-3 victory against the Canucks on Monday night. Huselius broke a tie 2:07 into the second period, and Klesla and Filatov broke the game open and ended Luongo's night early with goals 22 seconds apart. Huselius used Nash as a decoy off the rush and blew a wrist shot past Luongo's glove, Klesla scored on a wrist shot through traffic at 5:29, and Filatov finished a 3-on-2 with a shot through Luongo's legs on the next shift. Analysis: Huselius added an assist and finished at minus-1 on Monday. The veteran forward continues to skate on a line with Rick Nash and Derick Brassard. We expected his point production to drop a little in 2008-09 after he left Calgary for Columbus. While it did, Huselius still threatened as a 60-point player. He will have his peaks and valleys, but Huselius is still a nice No. 5 or No. 6 Fantasy forward.

Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Columbus LW Kristian Huselius was able to play in the team's season opener against the Wild on Sunday but was unable to record a point. He was listed as probable for the game with the flu. Analysis: Huselius goes through his ups and downs year in and year out and produces enough to be considered a No. 5 Fantasy option when healthy. His numbers have slipped the past two seasons and might go down again in 2009-10.
Huselius feeling much better Tuesday Huselius feeling much better Tuesday Updated 9/29/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: The Columbus Dispatch reports that Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius (flu) felt well enough to practice on Tuesday and should be ready for opening night. Analysis: Huselius can be a frustrating Fantasy option with his ups and downs, but he has plenty of value as a low-end starter in deeper formats.
Commodore, Huselius have the flu Commodore, Huselius have the flu Updated 9/23/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: The Columbus Dispatch reports that Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius and D Mike Commodore both missed practice Wednesday with the flu. Commodore is also dealing with a groin problem. Analysis: Commodore is capable of scoring in the mid-20s, which makes him just a low-end Fantasy forward in deeper formats that reward PIM. Huselius was almost a point-per-game guy a few seasons ago in Calgary, but his numbers have slipped over the past two seasons. He remains more of a bench option in regular Fantasy leagues.
Huselius plays in Game One Huselius plays in Game One Updated 4/17/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Columbus LW Kristian Huseliues was able to play in Game One of the Western Conference playoffs as expected. He missed four games to end the season due to a concussion. He failed to record a point in the game. Analysis: Huselius tallied 56 points in the regular season with 21 goals and 35 assists. Looking ahead to Draft Day 2009, Huselius should continue to be viewed as a No. 5 option.
Huselius misses season finale Huselius misses season finale Updated 4/11/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Columbus LW Kristian Huselius missed his fourth game Saturday in the season final against the Wild with concussion-like symptoms. He is however expected to play in the team's first game of the Western Conference playoffs. Analysis: The Blue Jackets had no reason to bring Huselius back early and it will be interesting to see if he is active to start the Western Conference playoffs. Looking ahead to Draft Day 2009, he should be considered a No. 5 Fantasy forward.
Huselius sits out a third game Huselius sits out a third game Updated 4/11/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Columbus LW Kristian Huselius missed his third game Friday against the Blues with concussion-like symptoms. He remains questionable for Saturday's season finale against the Wild. Analysis: The Blue Jackets are headed for the playoffs, so their objective is to make sure Huselius is healthy. Concussion-like injuries are nothing to mess around with, so it will be interesting to see if Huselius can take the ice Saturday. While he hasn't been as solid offensively since leaving Calgary in the offseason, Huselius has done well playing on the top line with Rick Nash. He will be a No. 5 Fantasy forward on Draft Day 2009.
Huselius doesn't dress Wednesday Huselius doesn't dress Wednesday Updated 4/9/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius missed his second game Wednesday against the Blackhawks with concussion-like symptoms and remains questionable for Friday against the Blues. Analysis: It's a real shame Huselius might miss the final week of the season since he is just four points shy of 60 for a third straight season and five assists shy of 40 for a third straight campaign. While he hasn't been as solid offensively since leaving Calgary in the offseason, Huselius has done well playing on the top line with Rick Nash. He is usually a No. 5 Fantasy forward when healthy.
Huselius out with head injury Huselius out with head injury Updated 4/5/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: The Blue Jackets played without second-leading scorer Kristian Huselius on Sunday against the Blackhawks. The forward suffered a head injury off the opening faceoff Saturday in Nashville. Huselius remains questionable for Wednesday's rematch with the Blackhawks. 5 Fantasy forward when healthy, but remains an injury-risk start Week 27 (April 6-12).
Huselius, Nash get four assists each Huselius, Nash get four assists each Updated 3/27/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius and C Rick Nash both assisted four times in Thursday's win over the Flames. Analysis: Huselius reached the 50-point mark for a third straight season on Thursday, and is playing a little better in March than he did in February. He remains a No. 5 or 6 option only. Nash is now only two points behind his career high of 69 points and should be starting in all Fantasy formats the rest of the way.
Huselius has four-assist game Huselius has four-assist game Updated 3/26/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Columbus LW Kristian Huselius has four assists in Thursday's 5-0 win against the Flames. The four-point performance increased his points total on the season to 54 with 20 goals and 34 assists. Analysis: Four points is the most that Huselius has accumulated in one game the entire season. Rick Nash accomplished the same feat on Thursday, tallying four assists on the same goals that Huselius assisted on. This one performance is clearly Huselius overachieving as he should be thought of as a No. 5 or 6 option only.
Huselius dekes goalie for 20th Huselius dekes goalie for 20th Updated 3/14/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius scored a goal and finished at plus-1 during Friday's game against the Blackhawks. Huselius made it 2-0 with his 20th goal midway through the period. He slipped in alone on right wing after taking a pass from Jakub Voracek, deked Cristobal Huet to the ice and scored on a backhand shot. Huselius has two goals and three assists in his last six games. Analysis: Huselius now has 20 or more goals in four straight seasons and six times in his seven-year career. His assist totals have dipped a bit since leaving Calgary, but we expected that as soon as he left a line with Jarome Iginla. Still, Huselius is worth a look as a No. 5 or No. 6 Fantasy forward.
Huselius chips in two assists Huselius chips in two assists Updated 3/6/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius tallied a pair of assists and finished at even in 22:24 of ice time Thursday against the Predators. He hasn't scored in five games, but does have three assists in that span. Analysis: Huselius has just 18 goals in 61 games and his scoring has been a little erratic this season. That's why Columbus traded for Antoine Vermette in hopes he can be a constant figure between Huselius and Rick Nash. We figured Huselius wouldn't be as lethal of a scorer after he left Calgary and we were right. But he still passes as a No. 4 or No. 5 Fantasy forward.
Huselius scores, assists in win Huselius scores, assists in win Updated 2/20/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius scored and assisted in Thursday's shootout win over the Maple Leafs. Analysis: Huselius is a frustrating Fantasy player, because he pops up now and again with multi-point games like this, but will then disappear for a stretch. Huselius has solid offensive skills, but is still more of a No. 4 or No. 5 Fantasy forward until he can become more of a consistent contributor.
Huselius has two goals, assist Huselius has two goals, assist Updated 2/14/2009
Kristian Huselius, LW CLB
News: Columbus defeated the Hurricanes 5-1 on Saturday and Blue Jackets LW Kristian Huselius did the most damage. Huselius scored twice in the game and added an assist for a total of three points. He picked up his first goal in the 2nd period off a power play and added his 16th of the season on the empty net to give the game its final margin. He assisted R.J. Umberger on a power play in the 3rd period. Analysis: The Blue Jackets left winger now has 40 points on the season after Saturday's nice game. He has been playing on the left side on a line with Nash, who picked up three assists in the game, over the last few weeks and the duo really seems to be clicking with Manny Malhotra as their center. Huselius has solid offensive skills, but is still more of a No. 4 or No. 5 Fantasy forward.
