Flyers' Huskins May Play Thursday

News: Kent Huskins (concussion) could return to the lineup Thursday, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Kent Huskins isn't an offensive defenseman, so there's little fantasy impact here. But after we learned another Philadelphia defenseman was lost to injury -- Kimmo Timonen is out for the year with a compression fracture of his right foot -- his return will help a young, patchwork blue line.

Flyers' Huskins Could Return Later This Week

News: Kent Huskins (concussion) is feeling better and could return later this week, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: Kent Huskins has been out a week after he suffered a concussion against the Canadies after a hit by Ryan White. With the Flyers eliminated from the playoffs, they may decide to play it safe with Huskins if he does not seem ready. The Flyers' last contest is Saturday against the Senators.

Analysis: The Flyers confirmed that Kent Huskins in fact suffered a concussion following the hit by Montreal's Ryan White. It's uncertain how long Huskins will be on the shelf, but this injury could very well end his season.

Flyers Acquire Huskins From Red Wings

News: Kent Huskins was traded from the Red Wings to the Flyers on Saturday, the Philadelphia Inquirer's Sam Carchidi reports.
Analysis: Kent Huskins has been a healthy scratch for most of the season, but he could see significant playing time with a defensively inept Philadelphia squad. He has 13 goals, 67 points, and 173 penalty minutes in 310 career games.

Wings' Huskins Expected To Play Saturday

News: Kent Huskins, who was injured on a hit from David Backes on Friday, passed all tests after the game and is expected to play Saturday against Columbus, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: If Kent Huskins becomes sore over the course of the day Saturday, Brian Lashoff would slot into the lineup here, but it appears Huskins avoided serious injury as a result of the hit the led to Backes' ejection Friday night.

Blues' Huskins To Miss Saturday

News: Kent Huskins, who has been sidelined with a bruised hand, will not play in Saturday's game against Columbus, the St. Louis Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The team thought there was a chance Kent Huskins could return over the weekend, but he will be held out and re-evaluated Monday. There is a good chance that he does return sometime during the week.

Blues May Have Huskins This Weekend

News: Kent Huskins, who has missed two straight game because of a bruised hand, could be available this weekend, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Kent Huskins isn't the puck mover that, say, Kevin Shattenkirk or Alex Pietrangelo are, so this news item doesn't register much in fantasy circles. But we do appreciate Huskins' plus-6 in 17 games this season.

Blues' Huskins Out Thursday

News: Kent Huskins (hand) is listed as out for Thursday's game against Anaheim, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Analysis: Kent Huskins is suffering from a deeply bruised left hand which makes it hard for him to grasp a stick with any force. Ian Cole was activated to take his roster spot Tuesday night and is likely to see action once again.

Blues' Huskins Out Tuesday

News: Kent Huskins (hand) will miss Tuesday's game against Chicago, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.
Analysis: Kent Huskins is no worse than day-to-day, so a return by Thursday's match-up with Anaheim is not out of the question. Ian Cole is expected to play in his place for as long as necessary.

Blues' Huskins Scratched

News: Kent Huskins, who was active the previous three games, was scratched in favor of Carlo Colaiacovo for Wednesday's game against the Bruins.
Analysis: Kent Huskins, who missed three-and-a-half months with an ankle injury before returning in the past week, had a nice run while filling in for Colaiacovo, but Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock said he was fatigued in the team's previous game. "I think the one thing we didn't read was the impact of missing so many games for 'Husky,'" Hitchcock said. "He was good and then he hit the wall. So this is the way to regroup and get the energy back and get him going for this weekend."

Blues' Huskins Takes Advantage Of Opportunity

News: Getting a rare opportunity to play Thursday night, Kent Huskins had an assist and was a plus-1 in 15 minutes of ice time.
Analysis: Kent Huskins will have to fight for playing time once Carlo Colaiacovo gets healthy again, but until then he'll get ice time for a red-hot Blues squad.

Blues' Huskins Expected To Play

News: Kent Huskins is expected to fill in for the injured Carlo Colaiacovo (wrist) against the Islanders on Thursday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Kent Huskins hasn't played since Oct. 28 because of an ankle injury, but has been skating with the team the past two weeks. He just hasn't been able to crack the lineup until now.

Huskins Seventh D-Man For Blues

News: St. Louis head coach Ken Hitchcock said Kent Huskins is "almost ready to go" following the rehab of his injured ankle, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Hitchcock added that he doesn't intend to insert Kent Huskins immediately into the lineup once he's ready. The coach feels his six defensemen are working well right now, so look for Huskins to be the seventh man to fill in when someone is injured or not playing well.

Blues Expect Huskins

News: Kent Huskins (ankle) will travel with the Blues on their upcoming road trip and may be available, if needed, Tuesday night in Ottawa, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: With Kent Huskins' return pending, we don't expect the Blues to be calling up Ian Cole from the AHL. Huskins is stay-at-home type, who will likely serve as the team's seventh defenseman.

News: Kent Huskins (ankle) reported feeling good following Monday's vigorous practice, the In The Slot blob reports.
Analysis: Kent Huskins has missed 39 games after breaking a bone in his ankle Oct. 28 in Calgary. He's not pointing a return date, but said Monday's practice was the first time he wasn't thinking about the ankle.

St. Louis' Huskins Still Weeks Away

News: Kent Huskins (ankle) is still on a week-to-week basis, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.
Analysis: So much for that 6-to-8 week prognosis from Nov. 15. Kent Huskins could be as much as a month away from returning.
