Bruins' Campbell Scores Twice

News: Gregory Campbell scored two goals, including a shorthanded tally and the game-winner, against the Rangers on Sunday.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell almost doubled his season total in goals in this game, but that's because he only has five on the year. He has not scored double-digit goals or more than 16 points in his last three seasons.

Bruins' Campbell Not Scoring Much

News: Gregory Campbell has three goals and nine assists through 57 games at the Olympic break.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell does have 36 PIM on the season as well, but he just doesn't score consistently enough to be a viable fantasy forward in most leagues.

Bruins' Campbell Good To Go

News: Gregory Campbell (illness) saw 10:58 worth of ice time in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Flames.
Analysis: With Shawn Thornton facing a suspension and Daniel Paille out with an injury, Gregory Campbell centered a line with Jordan Caron and Nick Johnson on the wings Tuesday. With six points in 31 games to date, Campbell isn't much of a fantasy factor, but he remains a key role player/penalty killer for the the Bruins in real terms.

Bruins' Campbell Looks To Be Over Flu

News: Gregory Campbell (illness) was back on the ice for Tuesday's morning skate, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: A day after Gregory Campbell and three other players were unable to practice due to flu-like symptoms, all four were back on the ice and look to be available if needed Tuesday. It's a rare bit of good news for a Bruins squad that has been bitten hard by injuries and illness over the last few days.

Bruins' Campbell Dealing With Flu

News: Gregory Campbell is battling the flu and missed practice as a result Monday.
Analysis: At least four Bruins are dealing with the illness at the moment, adding further challenges to a team that had already lost Loui Eriksson to injury and Shawn Thornton to suspension during its road trip. Gregory Campbell will look to rest up in hopes of returning Tuesday against the Flames, but his status for the game has yet to be determined.

Bruins' Campbell Nets First Goal

News: Gregory Campbell scored his first goal of the season in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Blues.
Analysis: After failing to register a point in his first 16 contests of the 2013-14 season, Gregory Campbell now has four points over the last six games. The recent flurry can mostly be written off as a fluke, given that Campbell is still stuck on the Bruins' fourth line playing about 10 minutes per game.

Bruins' Campbell Good To Go

News: Gregory Campbell saw 11:49 worth of ice time in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Lightning in the Bruins' season opener.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell seems largely past the broken leg he suffered back on June 5 and will continue to center the team's fourth line, an assignment that makes him more valuable to the Bruins than fantasy owners.

Campbell Returns To Boston Lineup

News: Gregory Campbell suited up in a game Thursday for the first time since breaking his leg in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals on June 5, ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: While Gregory Campbell acknowledges that his right leg is not quite completely healed, it's sound enough for him to suit up at this stage. He's in line to reprise his role manning the middle of the Bruins' effective fourth line.

Bruins' Campbell Expected To Play Thursday

News: Gregory Campbell (leg) is listed in the lineup for Thursday's preseason game against Detroit, the Bruins' official site reports.
Analysis: Assuming he plays, this will be Gregory Campbell's first game back since suffering a broken leg in last year's playoffs. He's more valuable to the Bruins than he is in fantasy circles, where his 13 points in 48 games last season left him on the waiver wire in many formats.

Bruins' Campbell Will Practice

News: Though Gregory Campbell (leg) will be able to practice with the Bruins this week, he wouldn't be cleared to play in games if the season started at this stage, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell, who broke his leg in last season's playoffs, expects to feel the effects of the injury for a while, but it looks like the Bruins' fourth-line pivot should be ready for the start of the regular season.

Bruins' Campbell Still Healing

News: Gregory Campbell is still recovering from the broken leg he suffered in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Globe reports. "I'm going to feel it for a while," the Bruins' fourth-line center acknowledged.
Analysis: That said, the report adds that it appears as though Gregory Campbell will be ready for the start of the season in October, but he's still working his way back to 100 percent at this stage.

Bruins' Campbell Has Successful Surgery

News: Gregory Campbell had successful surgery on Tuesday to repair a broken right fibula, the Bruins' official site reports.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell was a big loss for the Bruins heading into the Stanley Cup finals. He should not have a problem recovering in time for next season but that is all depending on how well his rehab goes.

Bruins Confirm That Campbell Is Done For Playoffs

News: GM Peter Chiarelli has confirmed that Gregory Campbell will miss the remainder of the playoffs after suffering a broken right fibula in Wednesday's overtime win over the Penguins, the Bruins' official site reports.
Analysis: Losing Gregory Campbell is a big loss for the Bruins, both in terms of his value as a penalty killer, as well as his role as the anchor of the team's highly-effective fourth line. Candidates to help fill in for Campbell are Kaspars Daugavins, Carl Soderberg, and Jay Pandolfo, with some shuffling on both the team's third and fourth lines likely in the cards.

Bruins' Campbell Breaks Leg

News: Gregory Campbell's injury is a broken leg and he will miss the remainder of the playoffs, ESPN Boston reports.
Analysis: Amazingly, Gregory Campbell stayed on the ice for another minute to help kill off a penalty. "For what he went through, he showed a lot of guts to stay out there and to still try and play," coach Claude Julien said. "Obviously it was a pretty serious injury, so that's just the kind of player he is, and it doesn't surprise me, it doesn't surprise his teammates, but certainly it shows the character of that player, and that's why we appreciate having him on our team."

Bruins' Campbell Leaves With Apparent Injury

News: Gregory Campbell left Wednesday's Game 3 against the Penguins with an apparent leg injury, Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell was able to finish out his shift and thwart the Pens' power play after blocking a shot from Evgeni Malkin, but Campbell limped to the dressing room once off the ice. His status for the remainder of the game is uncertain at this point.

Campbell's Brace Propels Bruins Into Conference Final

News: Gregory Campbell scored twice as the Bruins clinched a spot in the Eastern Conference final with a 3-1 win over the Rangers on Saturday.
Analysis: His first tally was the game-winner; the second came in the final minute with New York's net untended. But the goals count, for on-ice and fantasy purposes. The B's now move on to face the Penguins for a chance at the Stanley Cup.

Bruins' Campbell Scores Twice Wednesday

News: Gregory Campbell scored a pair of goals in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Devils.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell, who has 11 points and 36 PIMs in 39 games overall for the B's, picked up two assists in his previous game, as he seems to be benefiting in the short term from skating on a line with Jaromir Jagr.

Bruins' Campbell Gets Temporary Promotion

News: Gregory Campbell will skate in place of the injured Brad Marchand on the Bruins' second line Wednesday against the Canadiens, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell normally works on the Bruins' fourth line, but he possesses a pretty decent skill set and a chance to skate on a line with Patrice Bergeron and Tyler Seguin boosts his fantasy prospects in the short term, as long as he fills in for the day-to-day Marchand.

Bruins' Campbell Scores In Win

News: Gregory Campbell scored his first goal of the season Friday night in Boston's win over the New York Islanders. He has one goal and two assists through the first four games.
Analysis: It was a big night for Boston's fourth line, which was responsible for two of the Bruins' four goals. Gregory Campbell is a trusted member of the rotation and head coach Claude Julien likes his role on the bottom line. There's little chance Campbell will get promoted to a scoring line.

Bruins Keep Campbell On Board

News: Gregory Campbell has agreed to a three-year, $4.8 million deal with the Bruins, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell scored just eight goals and 16 points in 78 games for the Bruins this past season, but he's a quality role player for the team, who will continue to earn his keep centering the B's solid fourth line, while also contributing as a penalty killer.

Bruins' Campbell Banged Up

News: Gregory Campbell, who is day-to-day with a lower body injury, will miss Sunday's game against the Rangers, the Bruins' official site reports.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell's absence paves the way for Daniel Paille, a healthy scratch of late, to re-enter the B's lineup as a member of the team's energy line.

Howe Of A Night For Boston's Campbell

News: Gregory Campbell grabbed a goal, assisted on another and dropped the gloves in Boston's 4-1 win over New Jersey.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell was all over the stat sheet in Thursday's win, but the two points were 20-percent of his season's total output. Campbell has more value to Boston as a checking forward than to fantasy rosters.

Bruins Get Campbell Back

News: Gregory Campbell (fractured foot) returned to the Boston lineup Monday against the Canadiens, recording 11:00 minutes worth of ice time.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell's 37 PIMs in 29 games give him marginal utility in some leagues, but his true value in real terms lies in his steady play centering the Bruins' energy line, one of the more reliable fourth lines in the league.
