Campbell Rejoins Bruins' Lineup

News: Gregory Campbell saw 10:38 worth of ice time in his return to action Thursday against the Canadiens.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell returned to his usual assignment of centering the B's fourth line, an assignment that provides him with modest fantasy value, though the experience and grit he provides to the team's forward corps in that role are assets to the Bruins.

Bruins' Campbell Activated, Will Play Thursday

News: Gregory Campbell (abdomen) was activated from the Bruins' non-roster injury list and will play Thursday against the Canadiens.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell still hadn't been cleared for contact as recently as a few days, so his availability for Thursday's contest comes as something of a surprise. In any case, despite missing much of training camp with a mid-core injury, it appears Campbell will reprise his role as the Bruins' fourth-line center, where he'll be joined by Daniel Paille and Simon Gagne. Ryan Spooner will serve as a healthy scratch to clear a spot for Campbell in Thursday's lineup.

Bruins' Campbell Still Sidelined

News: Though Gregory Campbell (core) has been skating with his teammates, he has yet to be cleared for contact.
Analysis: The report notes that there's no timetable for Gregory Campbell's return, with Craig Cunningham manning the Bruins' fourth-line center slot in the meantime.

Bruins Place Campbell On Non-Roster Injury List

News: Gregory Campbell (abdomen) was placed on the Bruins' non-roster injury list, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell missed the entire preseason with a mid-core injury and will not be available for Wednesday's regular-season opener versus the Flyers. Look for Craig Cunningham to assume his spot as the Bruins' fourth-line center.

Bruins' Campbell Likely Out For Opener

News: Gregory Campbell (core) is not expected to play in Wednesday's season opener against the Flyers, WEEI Boston reports.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell has been able to skate some lately, but he was not able to take part in Tuesday's practice, so it's evident he still has some recovering to do. It remains to be seen when Campbell will be ready for game action, as he will have to get back into playing shape after sitting out the entire preseason.

Bruins' Campbell Doubtful For Opener

News: Though Gregory Campbell (mid-core) skated on his own Thursday morning, he is viewed as doubtful for the start the regular season, csnne.com reports.
Analysis: In the likely event that Gregory Campbell is unavailable to start the coming season, Craig Cunningham appears on track to center the Bruins' fourth line out of the gate, in Campbell's place.

Bruins' Campbell Questionable For Opener

News: Gregory Campbell's (core) is considered questionable for the Bruins' Oct. 8 season opener, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The report also notes that Gregory Campbell could start skating as early as this week. If this indeed happens, it seems likely that Campbell would be available for the season opener. Even if he's not ready for the start of the season, though, Campbell will not likely miss much action.

Bruins' Campbell (Core) Yet To Skate

News: Gregory Campbell (core) has yet to skate during main camp.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell has been limited since the beginning of camp and is still hampered by the injury as the preseason begins. His condition is improving on a daily basis, but the Bruins have not provided much in the way of an estimated return date. The hope is that Campbell can get back on the ice within the next two weeks before the start of the regular season.

Bruins' Campbell Still Sidelined

News: Gregory Campbell (mid-core) remains sidelined for the Bruins.
Analysis: Once he returns to action, Gregory Campbell is slated to center the Bruins' fourth line, though given the departure of Shawn Thornton, he'll have at least one new linemate. Meanwhile, Daniel Paille remains with the team and is a candidate to continue to work with Campbell this season, though it's also possible that he could move up to the B's third line.

Bruins' Campbell Limited

News: Gregory Campbell (core) will be limited at the start of training camp, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: As the Bruins' fourth-line center, Gregory Campbell is generally off the fantasy radar, but so far there is nothing to suggest that his minor mid-core issue will hold him back long.

Bruins' Campbell Scores Twice

News: Gregory Campbell scored two goals, including a shorthanded tally and the game-winner, against the Rangers on Sunday.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell almost doubled his season total in goals in this game, but that's because he only has five on the year. He has not scored double-digit goals or more than 16 points in his last three seasons.

Bruins' Campbell Not Scoring Much

News: Gregory Campbell has three goals and nine assists through 57 games at the Olympic break.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell does have 36 PIM on the season as well, but he just doesn't score consistently enough to be a viable fantasy forward in most leagues.

Bruins' Campbell Good To Go

News: Gregory Campbell (illness) saw 10:58 worth of ice time in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Flames.
Analysis: With Shawn Thornton facing a suspension and Daniel Paille out with an injury, Gregory Campbell centered a line with Jordan Caron and Nick Johnson on the wings Tuesday. With six points in 31 games to date, Campbell isn't much of a fantasy factor, but he remains a key role player/penalty killer for the the Bruins in real terms.

Bruins' Campbell Looks To Be Over Flu

News: Gregory Campbell (illness) was back on the ice for Tuesday's morning skate, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: A day after Gregory Campbell and three other players were unable to practice due to flu-like symptoms, all four were back on the ice and look to be available if needed Tuesday. It's a rare bit of good news for a Bruins squad that has been bitten hard by injuries and illness over the last few days.

Bruins' Campbell Dealing With Flu

News: Gregory Campbell is battling the flu and missed practice as a result Monday.
Analysis: At least four Bruins are dealing with the illness at the moment, adding further challenges to a team that had already lost Loui Eriksson to injury and Shawn Thornton to suspension during its road trip. Gregory Campbell will look to rest up in hopes of returning Tuesday against the Flames, but his status for the game has yet to be determined.

Bruins' Campbell Nets First Goal

News: Gregory Campbell scored his first goal of the season in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Blues.
Analysis: After failing to register a point in his first 16 contests of the 2013-14 season, Gregory Campbell now has four points over the last six games. The recent flurry can mostly be written off as a fluke, given that Campbell is still stuck on the Bruins' fourth line playing about 10 minutes per game.

Bruins' Campbell Good To Go

News: Gregory Campbell saw 11:49 worth of ice time in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Lightning in the Bruins' season opener.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell seems largely past the broken leg he suffered back on June 5 and will continue to center the team's fourth line, an assignment that makes him more valuable to the Bruins than fantasy owners.

Campbell Returns To Boston Lineup

News: Gregory Campbell suited up in a game Thursday for the first time since breaking his leg in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals on June 5, ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: While Gregory Campbell acknowledges that his right leg is not quite completely healed, it's sound enough for him to suit up at this stage. He's in line to reprise his role manning the middle of the Bruins' effective fourth line.

Bruins' Campbell Expected To Play Thursday

News: Gregory Campbell (leg) is listed in the lineup for Thursday's preseason game against Detroit, the Bruins' official site reports.
Analysis: Assuming he plays, this will be Gregory Campbell's first game back since suffering a broken leg in last year's playoffs. He's more valuable to the Bruins than he is in fantasy circles, where his 13 points in 48 games last season left him on the waiver wire in many formats.

Bruins' Campbell Will Practice

News: Though Gregory Campbell (leg) will be able to practice with the Bruins this week, he wouldn't be cleared to play in games if the season started at this stage, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell, who broke his leg in last season's playoffs, expects to feel the effects of the injury for a while, but it looks like the Bruins' fourth-line pivot should be ready for the start of the regular season.

News: Gregory Campbell is still recovering from the broken leg he suffered in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Globe reports. "I'm going to feel it for a while," the Bruins' fourth-line center acknowledged.
Analysis: That said, the report adds that it appears as though Gregory Campbell will be ready for the start of the season in October, but he's still working his way back to 100 percent at this stage.

Bruins' Campbell Has Successful Surgery

News: Gregory Campbell had successful surgery on Tuesday to repair a broken right fibula, the Bruins' official site reports.

Bruins Confirm That Campbell Is Done For Playoffs

News: GM Peter Chiarelli has confirmed that Gregory Campbell will miss the remainder of the playoffs after suffering a broken right fibula in Wednesday's overtime win over the Penguins, the Bruins' official site reports.
Analysis: Losing Gregory Campbell is a big loss for the Bruins, both in terms of his value as a penalty killer, as well as his role as the anchor of the team's highly-effective fourth line. Candidates to help fill in for Campbell are Kaspars Daugavins, Carl Soderberg, and Jay Pandolfo, with some shuffling on both the team's third and fourth lines likely in the cards.

Bruins' Campbell Breaks Leg

News: Gregory Campbell's injury is a broken leg and he will miss the remainder of the playoffs, ESPN Boston reports.
Analysis: Amazingly, Gregory Campbell stayed on the ice for another minute to help kill off a penalty. "For what he went through, he showed a lot of guts to stay out there and to still try and play," coach Claude Julien said. "Obviously it was a pretty serious injury, so that's just the kind of player he is, and it doesn't surprise me, it doesn't surprise his teammates, but certainly it shows the character of that player, and that's why we appreciate having him on our team."
