Campbell Joins Blue Jackets On Two-Year Deal

News: Gregory Campbell signed a two-year, $3 million contract with the Blue Jackets on Wednesday.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell is expected to be installed as the Blue Jackets' fourth-line center, a role he occupied with the Bruins over the last few seasons. As is typical with most checking line players, don't expect to see much offense from Campbell, who registered just 12 points in 70 games in 2014-15, his lowest output in eight years.

Bruins Won't Bring Campbell Back

News: The Bruins don't plan to re-sign Gregory Campbell, CSN New England reports.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell, who notched six goals and 12 points to go along with a plus-1 rating in 70 games for the B's this past season, should catch on elsewhere as a depth forward, but his departure (along with that of Daniel Paille) signals a changing of the guard of the Bruins' fourth line, which once included Campbell, Paille and Shawn Thornton (who's now with Florida).

Bruins' Campbell Set To Be A Free Agent

News: Gregory Campbell was a healthy scratch for three of the Bruins' final four games of the 2014-15 season, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: Along with long-time linemate Daniel Paille, Gregory Campbell is slated to become a free agent this offseason and there's a decent chance neither will be back with the team next season. The gritty Campbell finished up the 2014-15 campaign with six goals and 12 points to go along with 45 PIM in 70 games for the Bruins.

Bruins' Campbell Sits

News: Gregory Campbell was a healthy scratch Saturday against the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: The addition to the mix of Brett Connolly leaves the Bruins with a couple of spare forwards for the time being, with Gregory Campbell (along with Daniel Paille) taking a seat on Saturday, while Max Talbot joined the team's lineup. Campbell figures to re-enter the lineup before long, though with 12 points and 45 PIM in 69 games, his fantasy upside is modest.

Bruins' Campbell Returns To Lineup

News: Gregory Campbell (upper body) saw 12:13 worth of ice time in his return to the Boston lineup Saturday against the Flyers.
Analysis: With Gregory Campbell back in the mix and centering the Bruins' fourth line along with Maxime Talbot and Daniel Paille, Brian Ferlin was a healthy scratch Saturday. Though Campbell helps solidify the team's fourth line and contributes as a penalty killer, his fantasy value is modest in that role. In 55 games to date, the veteran pivot has recorded nine points and 41 PIM to go along with a plus-3 rating.

Bruins' Campbell To Play Saturday

News: Gregory Campbell (upper body) will rejoin the Bruins' lineup Saturday against the Flyers.
Analysis: The upper-body injury had forced Gregory Campbell out of the Bruins' previous four games, but it looks like he's now ready to go after returning to practice a few days ago. Brian Ferlin will head to the press box to create an opening in the lineup for Campbell.

Bruins' Campbell Out Thursday

News: Gregory Campbell (upper body) won't play Thursday against the Flames.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell, who last suited up on Feb. 22, thus remains in the day-to-day category in advance of Saturday's game against the Flyers.

Bruins' Campbell Doubtful For Thursday

News: Gregory Campbell (upper body) took light contact at practice Wednesday, but is doubtful for Thursday's game against the Flames.
Analysis: With Gregory Campbell likely to miss his fourth straight game Thursday and newcomer Brett Connolly now out, look for Brian Ferlin and Maxime Talbot to be part of the Bruins' forward lineup Thursday night.

Bruins' Campbell Iffy For Thursday

News: Gregory Campbell (upper body) did not absorb contact at Tuesday's practice.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell remains iffy for Thursday's game against the Flames, though with the Bruins having added forwards Brett Connolly and Maxime Talbot at the NHL trade deadline, the team can probably afford to not rush Campbell back.

Bruins' Campbell Nears Return

News: Gregory Campbell (upper body) is close to a return to action.
Analysis: Based on the report, Gregory Campbell, who last suited up on Feb. 22, could resume action as soon as Thursday's game against the Flames. Upon his return, he'll join a Boston forward corps bolstered by the additions of Maxime Talbot and Brett Connolly in advance of Monday's NHL trade deadline.

Bruins' Campbell Sidelined

News: Gregory Campbell will be out at least a week with an upper-body injury.
Analysis: With both Gregory Campbell (who has nine points and 41 PIM in 54 games) and David Krejci dealing with injuries, Ryan Spooner centered the Bruins' second line at Tuesday's morning skate, while Chris Kelly manned the middle on the team's fourth line.

B's Campbell Nets Game-Winner Tuesday

News: Gregory Campbell scored the game-winning goal in Tuesday's victory over the Stars.
Analysis: With just seven points in 42 games this season, Gregory Campbell doesn't provide much scoring punch as a member of the Bruins' checking line. The team will continue to rely on him to be a steady presence on their penalty kill and as an even-strength defender, but he won't pile up enough hits or PIM in that role to remain relevant in most specialty formats.

Bruins' Campbell Nets Goal In Victory

News: Gregory Campbell netted an early goal in Thursday's win over the Sharks.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell made some waves in October when he scored three points over a four-game span, but he had gone completely dry since that time. Thursday's goal was his first point since Oct. 28, with the center providing zeroes in goals or assists in 15 straight contests. He'll offer the majority of his value to the Bruins as a member of their penalty kill.

Bruins' Campbell Notches Helper

News: Gregory Campbell recorded an assist in 9:01 worth of ice time in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Wild.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell now has points (including two goals) in three of his last four games, though in general, in his role as the Bruins' fourth-line center, his fantasy utility is restricted to deeper formats.

Campbell Rejoins Bruins' Lineup

News: Gregory Campbell saw 10:38 worth of ice time in his return to action Thursday against the Canadiens.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell returned to his usual assignment of centering the B's fourth line, an assignment that provides him with modest fantasy value, though the experience and grit he provides to the team's forward corps in that role are assets to the Bruins.

Bruins' Campbell Activated, Will Play Thursday

News: Gregory Campbell (abdomen) was activated from the Bruins' non-roster injury list and will play Thursday against the Canadiens.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell still hadn't been cleared for contact as recently as a few days, so his availability for Thursday's contest comes as something of a surprise. In any case, despite missing much of training camp with a mid-core injury, it appears Campbell will reprise his role as the Bruins' fourth-line center, where he'll be joined by Daniel Paille and Simon Gagne. Ryan Spooner will serve as a healthy scratch to clear a spot for Campbell in Thursday's lineup.

Bruins' Campbell Still Sidelined

News: Though Gregory Campbell (core) has been skating with his teammates, he has yet to be cleared for contact.
Analysis: The report notes that there's no timetable for Gregory Campbell's return, with Craig Cunningham manning the Bruins' fourth-line center slot in the meantime.

Bruins Place Campbell On Non-Roster Injury List

News: Gregory Campbell (abdomen) was placed on the Bruins' non-roster injury list, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell missed the entire preseason with a mid-core injury and will not be available for Wednesday's regular-season opener versus the Flyers. Look for Craig Cunningham to assume his spot as the Bruins' fourth-line center.

Bruins' Campbell Likely Out For Opener

News: Gregory Campbell (core) is not expected to play in Wednesday's season opener against the Flyers, WEEI Boston reports.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell has been able to skate some lately, but he was not able to take part in Tuesday's practice, so it's evident he still has some recovering to do. It remains to be seen when Campbell will be ready for game action, as he will have to get back into playing shape after sitting out the entire preseason.

Gregory Campbell

Bruins' Campbell Doubtful For Opener

News: Though Gregory Campbell (mid-core) skated on his own Thursday morning, he is viewed as doubtful for the start the regular season, csnne.com reports.
Analysis: In the likely event that Gregory Campbell is unavailable to start the coming season, Craig Cunningham appears on track to center the Bruins' fourth line out of the gate, in Campbell's place.

Bruins' Campbell Questionable For Opener

News: Gregory Campbell's (core) is considered questionable for the Bruins' Oct. 8 season opener, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The report also notes that Gregory Campbell could start skating as early as this week. If this indeed happens, it seems likely that Campbell would be available for the season opener. Even if he's not ready for the start of the season, though, Campbell will not likely miss much action.

Bruins' Campbell (Core) Yet To Skate

News: Gregory Campbell (core) has yet to skate during main camp.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell has been limited since the beginning of camp and is still hampered by the injury as the preseason begins. His condition is improving on a daily basis, but the Bruins have not provided much in the way of an estimated return date. The hope is that Campbell can get back on the ice within the next two weeks before the start of the regular season.

Gregory Campbell

Bruins' Campbell Still Sidelined

News: Gregory Campbell (mid-core) remains sidelined for the Bruins.
Analysis: Once he returns to action, Gregory Campbell is slated to center the Bruins' fourth line, though given the departure of Shawn Thornton, he'll have at least one new linemate. Meanwhile, Daniel Paille remains with the team and is a candidate to continue to work with Campbell this season, though it's also possible that he could move up to the B's third line.

Bruins' Campbell Limited

News: Gregory Campbell (core) will be limited at the start of training camp, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: As the Bruins' fourth-line center, Gregory Campbell is generally off the fantasy radar, but so far there is nothing to suggest that his minor mid-core issue will hold him back long.

Bruins' Campbell Scores Twice

News: Gregory Campbell scored two goals, including a shorthanded tally and the game-winner, against the Rangers on Sunday.
Analysis: Gregory Campbell almost doubled his season total in goals in this game, but that's because he only has five on the year. He has not scored double-digit goals or more than 16 points in his last three seasons.
