Bruins' Paille Could Move Up

News: Heading into the coming season, Daniel Paille's role with the Bruins has yet to be defined, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: While it's possible that Daniel Paille could remain on the Bruins' fourth line -- centered by Gregory Campbell -- the configuration of the team's third line hasn't been determined yet, with the speedy Paille a candidate to move up to that trio. In such a scenario, Paille -- who had 18 points in 72 games last season -- would be in a position to see increased production, and thus potentially merit attention in deeper formats.

Paille Returns To Bruins' Lineup

News: Daniel Paille (upper body) saw 16:27 worth of ice time in his return to action in Thursday's second-round series opener against the Canadiens.
Analysis: As the game progressed, Daniel Paille -- who had last suited up on April 12 -- saw some work on the B's third line. It remains to be seen if that trend continues, but in any case, Paille's speed is an asset to the Bruins, especially against a quick team like the Habs. Though Paille saw just 16 seconds of shorthanded work Thursday, look for him to contribute more in that area as the series moves on.

Bruins' Paille Ready To Play

News: Daniel Paille (upper body) said he's been cleared to play and is awaiting coach Claude Julien's decision as to whether he'll be in the lineup for Thursday's Game 1, Marc Antoine Godin of the Montreal Press reports.
Analysis: Daniel Paille received clearance to practice a week ago, and it now looks like he's ready to go after getting a few days of contact work. At Thursday's morning skate, Paille was working on the second line in place of Brad Marchand, who was absent for an unspecified reason. If Marchand is cleared to play Thursday, Paille will either be bumped to fourth-line duty or head to the press box as a healthy scratch.

Bruins' Paille Set To Return

News: Coach Claude Julien indicated that Daniel Paille (undisclosed injury) will be ready for the second round of the playoffs.
Analysis: Daniel Paille evidently responded well to the full contact work he saw at practice Tuesday, so barring any setbacks, it looks like he'll be back to face the Habs, presumably occupying his normal spot on the Bruins' fourth line while also seeing penalty-killing action.

Bruins' Paille Progressing

News: Daniel Paille (undisclosed injury) participated in contact drills at Tuesday's practice, CSN New England reports.
Analysis: Daniel Paille missed the Bruins' first-round playoff series against Detroit with an upper-body injury that the report suggests is believed to be a concussion. That Paille is able to take contact at this stage bodes well for his chances of returning to action in the second round of the playoffs against Montreal, barring any setbacks.

Bruins' Paille Practices

News: Daniel Paille (undisclosed injury) practiced Tuesday.
Analysis: With Brad Marchand not on the ice Tuesday, Daniel Paille skated with Patrice Bergeron and Reilly Smith. While Paille's status for the second round of the playoffs has yet to be clarified, his presence at Tuesday's practice is nonetheless a positive indicator on that front.

Bruins' Paille Skates On Saturday

News: Daniel Paille (undisclosed injury) participated in the Bruins' morning skate Saturday, the Worcester Telegram reports.
Analysis: While Daniel Paille did not suit up for Saturday's series-clinching win over the Red Wings, he appears to be inching toward a return as the Bruins' second-round series against Montreal approaches.

Bruins' Paille Making Progress

News: Daniel Paille (undisclosed injury) has been cleared to practice and take light contact, NHL.com's Dan Rosen reports.
Analysis: That said, coach Claude Julien noted that Daniel Paille won't play Thursday against the Red Wings, while adding that the forward is "inching toward the right side" at this stage. With Chris Kelly still banged up, Justin Florek and Jordan Caron are in line to remain in the team's lineup Thursday night.

Bruins' Paille Not Cleared Yet

News: Though Daniel Paille (undisclosed injury) is skating, he hasn't been cleared to play yet, NHL.com's Dan Rosen reports.
Analysis: Daniel Paille -- who last suited up on April 12 -- thus remains in the day-to-day category as Thursday's Game 4 against the Red Wings approaches.

Bruins' Paille Remains Sidelined

News: Daniel Paille (undisclosed injury) was not present for the Bruins' Tuesday morning skate.
Analysis: Nor was fellow forward Chris Kelly, meaning that Justin Florek and Jordan Caron are in line to remain in the Bruins' lineup for Tuesday's Game 3 against the Red Wings.

Bruins' Paille Still Day-To-Day

News: Daniel Paille (undisclosed injury) participated in Monday's optional skate, the Bruins' official site reports.
Analysis: Daniel Paille, who remains in the day-to-day category, appears closer to a return to action than fellow forward Chris Kelly, but the speedy winger is still looking iffy for Tuesday's Game 3 against the Red Wings.

Bruins' Paille Remains Out

News: Daniel Paille (undisclosed injury) will not play Sunday against the Red Wings, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Neither will fellow forward Chris Kelly, which paves the way for Justin Florek and Jordan Caron to remain in the Bruins' mix up front for Sunday's Game 2 against Detroit.

Bruins' Paille Skates On Saturday

News: Daniel Paille (undisclosed injury) skated for the second straight day Saturday, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: Given that Daniel Paille skated with Dennis Seidenberg and Adam McQuaid -- who both are still in injury rehab mode -- it doesn't seem likely that the winger will suit up for Sunday's playoff game against the Red Wings.

Bruins' Paille (Undisclosed) Out Friday

News: Daniel Paille (undisclosed) didn't skate in warmups on Friday and will sit for Game 1.
Analysis: Daniel Paille skated for the first time this week on Friday morning which was an encouraging sign for his status in Game 1, but it appears he won't play. He will likely join Matt Bartkowski, Kevan Miller, and Chris Kelly in being out of the lineup for the series opener.

Bruins' Paille Skates On Friday

News: Daniel Paille (unspecified injury) skated Friday morning.
Analysis: The report notes that it was Daniel Paille's first time on the ice this week, so consider the speedy winger day-to-day as the Bruins' opening-round playoff series against the Red Wings opens on Friday.

Bruins' Paille Day-To-Day

News: Daniel Paille (unspecified injury) did not practice Wednesday.
Analysis: The Bruins are calling Daniel Paille (who was helped off the ice this past Saturday after absorbing a check) day-to-day, which clouds his status for Friday's playoff opener against the Red Wings. Meanwhile, Jordan Caron is skating on the B's fourth line in practice in place Paille.

Bruins' Paille Day-To-Day

News: Daniel Paille (unspecified injury) is day-to-day, according to coach Claude Julien.
Analysis: Daniel Paille won't play in the Bruins' season finale on Sunday and while Julien said that the forward is "doing great," it remains unclear if Paille (who was left wobbly by a check on Saturday) will be available at the start of the upcoming playoffs.

Bruins' Paille Injured Saturday

News: Following Saturday's win over the Sabres, the Bruins did not provide an update on the condition of Daniel Paille, who was helped off the ice during the third period of the contest after absorbing a check, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: That said, Daniel Paille looked pretty wobbly as he headed to the dressing room and given that he has already dealt with concussion issues this season, it seems very plausible that the speedy winger could miss time beyond Sunday's season finale against New Jersey.

Bruins' Paille Helped Off Ice Saturday

News: Daniel Paille was helped off the ice on Saturday against Buffalo, Howard Ulman of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: The injury apparently occurred in a collision with Buffalo defenseman Jake McCabe, who was subsequently given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for interference. Although no further update was provided on his condition, it seems unlikely at this point that he will be available for Sunday's regular season finale against the Devils.

Bruins' Paille Returns To Action

News: Daniel Paille saw 11:54 worth of ice time in his return to action Saturday against the Hurricanes after missing two games due to a concussion, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Daniel Paille, who rejoined the Bruins' fourth line Saturday, has a modest total of 16 points in 58 games to date, but his speed and penalty-killing ability remain assets to the Bruins.

Bruins' Paille Cleared To Play Saturday

News: Daniel Paille (concussion) was cleared to play Saturday, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Daniel Paille was diagnosed with a minor concussion on March 11, but has been showing strong signs of improvement each day. While he was cleared to play, it is not yet known whether he will play Saturday against the Hurricanes.

Bruins' Paille Could Be Back Saturday

News: Daniel Paille (concussion) took part in Friday's optional practice, CSNNE.com's Joe Haggerty reports.
Analysis: Daniel Paille hasn't experienced any recurring symptoms while sitting out the Bruins' last two games and could be back in the lineup Saturday vs. Carolina. Coach Claude Julien probably won't pass along official word on his status until Saturday morning.

Bruins' Paille Skates Again On Thursday

News: Daniel Paille (concussion) skated again Thursday and is on track for a possible return to action Saturday against the Hurricanes.
Analysis: Coach Claude Julien noted that so far there's been no setbacks for the winger, but in the meantime, while Daniel Paille is out, Jordan Caron will fill in for him on the B's fourth line.

Bruins' Paille Skates

News: Daniel Paille (concussion) skated Wednesday for the first time since being injured.
Analysis: Although the winger has already been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Canadiens – and likely won't play Thursday either – he is expected to return Saturday against the Hurricanes. Daniel Paille recorded nine goals and seven assists in 57 games before getting hurt.

Bruins' Paille Diagnosed With Minor Concussion

News: Daniel Paille has been diagnosed with a minor concussion and will miss the next two games, Joe Haggerty of the CSNNE.com reports.
Analysis: Daniel Paille is presumably experiencing a little dizziness since being forced out of Sunday's game, and keeping him out of the lineup appears to simply be a preventative measure from keeping the symptoms from worsening. Jordan Caron will take his place on the fourth line the next two games. Check back on Paille's status in advance of Saturday's game vs. the Hurricanes.
