Cammalleri Represents Devils' Offense Tuesday

News: Mike Cammalleri scored both New Jersey goals -- one on a power play, the other shorthanded -- Tuesday in a 3-2 overtime loss at the hands of Columbus.
Analysis: A terrific effort for Mike Cammalleri, who's now reached 40 points on the year and has exceeded last season's 26 goals in exactly the same number of games (63). However, the 32-year-old remains a relatively unexciting, middle-of-the-road fantasy contributor for a Devils team that often can't muster much offense beyond what he provides.

New Jersey's Cammalleri Returns

News: Mike Cammalleri (illness) is slated to play Monday against the Kings.
Analysis: With Mike Cammalleri back in action, Martin Havlat, Tuomo Ruutu and Michael Ryder are set to be the team's scratches up front on Monday.

New Jersey's Cammalleri Set To Play Monday

News: Mike Cammalleri (illness) was on the ice for warmups in advance of Monday's game against the Kings, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Mike Cammalleri -- who has missed the last two games -- is thus poised to return to the New Jersey lineup Monday. The veteran forward has recorded 25 goals and 36 points in 58 games for the Devils this season.

New Jersey's Cammalleri A Game-Time Call

News: Mike Cammalleri (illness) is viewed as a game-time decision for Monday's game against the Kings.
Analysis: Per nj.com, Mike Cammalleri -- who participated in the team's morning skate -- expects to play Monday, but a final call on that front likely won't arrive until warmups.

Devils To Sit Cammalleri For Another

News: Mike Cammalleri (illness) will not play Saturday against the Islanders, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: After being held out of Friday's game against the Sabres, Mike Cammalleri didn't make enough progress in his recovery to warrant lineup consideration for Saturday's contest. Expect either Michael Ryder or Martin Havlat to replace him for the second straight night.

Devils' Cammalleri Won't Play Friday

News: Mike Cammalleri (illness) will not play Friday against the Sabres, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: The Devils regarded Mike Cammalleri as a game-time decision after he left morning skate early due to an illness, but after he didn't make the short trip to Buffalo with the rest of the team, it's safe to rule him out. Martin Havlat is slated to swap in for Cammalleri in the lineup, though it's not clear if he'll directly replace him on the Devils' second line. Cammalleri could still return to action Saturday, when the team returns to New Jersey for a match versus the Islanders.

Devils' Cammalleri Feeling Ill

News: Mike Cammalleri was sent home from morning skate feeling ill, but he may still play in Friday's game against the Sabres, NJ.com's Rich Chere reports.
Analysis: Mike Cammalleri will be a game-time decision, with Martin Havlat his potential replacement in the lineup. The winger is the Devils' leading goal scorer this season, producing an impressive 25 tallies in 58 games.

Devils' Cammalleri Hits 25-Goal Mark In Win

News: Mike Cammalleri hit the 25-goal mark Saturday, potting two goals in a win over Arizona.
Analysis: Mike Cammalleri has now scored at least 25 goals in back-to-back seasons and is up to 36 points in 57 games. While he recently went through a four-game scoreless drought, the 32-year-old continues to find twine on a regular basis, making him a safe and reliable fantasy option.

Devils' Cammalleri Stays Sizzling In Win

News: Mike Cammalleri potted a goal on one of his game-high six shot attempts in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Predators.
Analysis: The Devils have been atrocious offensively this season, but few of those struggles can be attributed to Mike Cammalleri. Despite missing 12 games due to injury this season, the veteran winger has recorded 24 goals, which would prorate to 37-goal production over an 82-game schedule. And he's probably playing his best hockey of the season at the moment, recording six goals and three assists just in the last seven contests.

Devils' Cammalleri Scores In Loss

News: Mike Cammalleri scored his team's lone goal in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Flames.
Analysis: The tally was Mike Cammalleri's 23rd of the season, as this year is the sixth in which the veteran winger has broken the 20-goal threshold. He's certainly past the most productive years of his career, but that doesn't mean there's no value left here for fantasy owners.

Devils' Cammalleri Bags Two Goals

News: Mike Cammalleri potted two goals -- one on an empty net -- and finished with a plus-2 rating in Monday's 3-0 win over the Coyotes.
Analysis: Mike Cammalleri is in the midst of his best scoring stretch since the beginning of the season as he's collected four goals and an assist en route to a three game point streak. The 32-year-old now has 22 goals in 48 games, but he's shooting a ridiculous 22% -- nearly 10 full percentage points above his career average -- so his current pace may not be sustainable down the stretch.

Devils' Cammalleri Pots Two Goals In Win

News: Mike Cammalleri scored twice in Friday's win over the Canucks.
Analysis: The two-goal outburst snapped a four-game pointless drought for Mike Cammalleri, who now has 20 goals and 27 points in 46 games. He also netted the game-winner Friday, giving him eight game-winning goals this season -- tied for tops in the NHL. When healthy, the 32-year-old is one of the more lethal goal-scorers around.

Devils' Cammalleri Gets 18th Goal Of Season

News: Mike Cammalleri picked up his 18th goal of the season in Saturday's loss to Montreal.
Analysis: Cammy has five goals and two assists in his last nine games. There aren't many rays of offensive hope in Jersey, but 18 goals in 41 games is solid.

Devils' Cammalleri Pots Winner Tuesday

News: Mike Cammalleri notched the game-winning goal in Tuesday's 2-1 nipping of the Senators.
Analysis: Though his 17 goals rank only him in a tie for 27th in the NHL, Mike Cammalleri leads the league with seven game-winning tallies, with two coming in his last two contests. He's only fired off a combined two shots in those contests and is averaging just a shade over two attempts per game this season, which has left him sitting on a sky-high 21.3 shooting percentage. That number figures to start regressing closer to his career rate (12.5 percent) eventually, which could result in the goals drying up for the 32-year-old.

Devils' Cammalleri Scores Power-Play Marker

News: Mike Cammalleri netted a game-winning power-play goal and had an assist in Saturday's win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Mike Cammalleri now has 16 goals in 38 games on the season, including a league-best six game-winning tallies. With 23 points in 38 games, the 32-year-old is a strong goal-scorer whose power-play capability make him a great fantasy option in most formats.

Devils' Cammalleri Set To Play Friday

News: Mike Cammalleri (general soreness) was on the ice for morning skate and is thus on track to play Friday against the Penguins, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Mike Cammalleri was held out of Thursday's practice as a precaution after feeling a little sore. The Devils never believed he was at risk of missing Friday's game, and his return to the ice in the morning seemingly verifies as much.

Devils' Cammalleri Nursing Some Soreness

News: Mike Cammalleri is nursing some soreness and was unable to practice Thursday, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: The practice appeared to be optional, so it could be the case where Mike Cammalleri was taking a maintenance day more than anything. However, because of the myriad injuries Cammalleri has dealt with the past two seasons, it's still worth following up on his status after Friday's morning skate just to be certain that he'll suit up for the game later that evening against the Penguins.

Devils' Cammalleri Adds Two Points In Win

News: Mike Cammalleri recorded a goal and added a power-play assist in Wednesday's win over the Kings.
Analysis: The goal held up as the game-winner, Mike Cammalleri's fourth of the season. An assortment of injuries have forced him to miss 12 games this season, but he still leads the team in goals (14) by a comfortable margin over Adam Henrique (10).

Cammalleri Notches Two Points In Devils' Win

News: Mike Cammalleri picked up a first-period assist and an empty-net goal Tuesday against the Sabres.
Analysis: Although he has 13 goals on the year, the assist was just Mike Cammalleri's fifth, and his fantasy value will remain fairly limited in shallower formats until he can find some more balance in his scoring.

Devils Activate Cammalleri

News: Mike Cammalleri (groin) was activated from injured reserve Tuesday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: The activation will clear the way for Mike Cammalleri to return to action Tuesday night against the Hurricanes, after he missed the previous four contests due to the groin pull. Despite being limited to just 23 games due to injuries this season, Cammalleri still ranks as the Devils' top goal scorer with 11. He's on tap for a top-line role with Scott Gomez and Jaromir Jagr.

Cammalleri (Lower Body) Practices Monday

News: Mike Cammalleri (lower body) was on the ice for practice Monday and could play Tuesday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Mike Cammalleri was placed on injured reserve Saturday so the team could recall Mike Sislo from AHL Albany. The combination of Sislo being sent back to the AHL and Cammalleri practicing could indicate he is nearing a return to the ice. Tuesday will be the next opportunity for him to return, but if he can't go, the team has a three-day break before the Devils' next game Saturday.

Devils Place Cammalleri On Injured Reserve

News: Mike Cammalleri (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Since the IR stint is retroactive to last Saturday, the move means that Mike Cammalleri will be unavailable for a fourth straight game. He continues to skate and is being viewed as day-to-day at this time, so despite the IR placement, it seems likely he'll suit up at some point next week.

Devils' Cammalleri To Remain Out Friday

News: Mike Cammalleri (lower body) will remain out of the lineup Friday against the Lightning, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Mike Cammalleri created some optimism that he might be ready to play in games after he skated Thursday, but his absence from Friday's morning skate indicates that he will miss his third straight game. It could be the case where the Devils simply didn't want to use him for both ends of their back-to-back set, so he may not be ruled out for Saturday's tilt with the Capitals.

Devils' Cammalleri Skates Thursday

News: Mike Cammalleri (lower body) skated on his own Thursday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Mike Cammalleri didn't participate in the Devils' optional practice later in the morning, however, which may prevent him from making his return to the lineup Friday against Tampa Bay. Friday will mark the first game of a back-to-back set in any event, so it's possible the Devils might prefer to save Cammalleri for Saturday's tilt with the Capitals rather than having him play two games immediately upon his return from injury.

Devils' Cammalleri Likely Out Wednesday

News: Mike Cammalleri (lower body) wasn't present at the Devils' morning skate and doesn't look like he'll play Wednesday against the Senators, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: If that's indeed the case, it will be the second straight game that Mike Cammalleri has missed, and his 10th overall on the season. Despite the extensive time missed, Cammalleri still ranks as the Devils' leading goal scorer by a rather sizable margin, which is probably more of an indictment of the team's lack of offensive talent. Fortunately, the return of Patrik Elias (groin) to the lineup Wednesday will help provide some cushion for Cammalleri's absence.
