Ducks Activate Jackman From IR

News: Tim Jackman (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Wednesday.
Analysis: Tim Jackman skated on the fourth line during the Ducks' morning session, so it stands to reason that he'll be available to play Wednesday against the Stars. The winger, who had been out since March 1 with the injury, has seven points and 84 PIM over his 53 games this season.

Ducks' Jackman Back Skating

News: Tim Jackman (lower body) has resumed skating over the last few days, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: He won't play in Wednesday's game against the Oilers, but seems to be trending toward a return to the lineup before the final week of the regular season. Tim Jackman will give the Ducks' fourth line some added toughness once he gets back in action.

Ducks' Jackman To Resume Skating On Own Soon

News: Tim Jackman (lower body) is expected to begin skating on his own back in Anaheim during the Ducks' upcoming five-game road trip, Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: Tim Jackman was ruled out for 4-to-6 weeks after suffering his injury back on Mar. 1, and it appears that timetable remains fairly firm. With 84 PIM and 109 hits over his 53 games this season, Jackman is one of the Ducks' more prolific agitators, but he's largely a non-entity in every other fantasy category.

Ducks' Jackman Expected To Start Skating In A Week

News: Coach Bruce Boudreau said he hopes that Tim Jackman (lower body) can resume skating in a week, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Tim Jackman still appears in line to miss 4-to-6 weeks in total due to the injury he sustained just under two weeks ago. The Ducks are lacking in fourth-line muscle with Jackman unavailable, but the winger should be ready to contribute again over the final few games of the regular season.

Ducks' Jackman Out 4-6 Weeks

News: Tim Jackman is slated to miss 4-6 weeks due to a lower-body injury, Curtis Zupke of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: With just seven points in 53 games to date, Tim Jackman's fantasy utility is restricted to leagues where his PIM (he has recorded 84 this season) are of assistance.

Ducks' Jackman Listed On IR

News: Tim Jackman (lower body) is being listed on the Ducks' injured reserve list.
Analysis: The Ducks made a slew of additions ahead of Monday's trade deadline, so Tim Jackman was likely whisked away to injured reserve to open up a roster spot. Since he last played in Sunday's game against the Stars before exiting with the injury, Jackman won't be eligible for activation until Mar. 9, ensuring that he'll miss the Ducks' next three games. The Ducks had previously listed Jackman as day-to-day, but the winger was reportedly sent back to Anaheim for a more thorough evaluation. With that in mind, it's no lock that he'll be able to immediately return to action next week when eligible.

Ducks' Jackman Considered Day-To-Day

News: Tim Jackman (lower body) is considered day-to-day, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: The designation doesn't mean much, as it comes just a few hours after Tim Jackman suffered the injury. He managed only 38 seconds of ice time in Sunday's game against the Stars, and he may not be available for Tuesday's game in Arizona.

Ducks' Jackman Suffers Lower Body Injury

News: Tim Jackman suffered a lower body injury during the first period of Sunday's game against the Stars, and he will not return to the contest.
Analysis: Tim Jackman suffered the injury on his second shift, after logging just 38 seconds of ice time. With Tomas Fleischmann recently acquired by the Ducks, Jackman was already in danger of losing his spot in the lineup. Fleischmann is expected to make his Ducks debut in Tuesday's game against Arizona.

Ducks' Jackman Signs One-Year Extension

News: The Ducks signed Tim Jackman on Thursday to a one-year contract extension worth $700,000, Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: While the news is great for Tim Jackman personally, his fantasy value for his career has been very limited. As the Ducks' designated enforcer, Jackman racks up the PIM (84 so far this season), making him as a reasonable option if you're struggling in that category.

Goal, Five PIM For Ducks' Jackman In Loss

News: Tim Jackman contributed a goal and five PIM in Tuesday's loss to the Panthers.
Analysis: Tim Jackman cut the Ducks' deficit to three with his score at the 14:54 mark of the second period, but the game was pretty much well in hand for the Panthers by that point. The goal was just the fifth of the season for Jackman, but the penalty minutes weren't much of a surprise for the aggressive fourth liner. He paces the Ducks with 79 PIM on the campaign.

Ducks Activate Jackman

News: Tim Jackman (head) was activated from injured reserve Wednesday.
Analysis: The activation would suggest that Tim Jackman will be available for Wednesday's rematch with the Sharks, though as a fourth liner who has occasionally been a healthy scratch, it's not guaranteed that he'll suit up. Jackman had been forced out of the game against San Jose prior to the Christmas break following a hit to the head. He was forced to sit out the past two games, but it doesn't sound like he suffered from any significant concussion symptoms.

Ducks' Jackman Takes Pregame Rushes

News: Tim Jackman took pregame rushes in advance of Wednesday's matchup with the Sharks, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Tim Jackman was activated from the injured reserve Wednesday, though it wasn't originally clear whether or not he would suit up for the New Year's Eve tilt. His participation in pregame warmups suggests he'll be available to provide the Ducks with offensive depth.

Ducks' Jackman (Head) Cleared To Play

News: Tim Jackman (head) received clearance to return to game action Wednesday, Curtis Pashelka of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Analysis: It's not yet known if coach Bruce Boudreau will include Tim Jackman in his lineup Wednesday versus the Sharks, against whom the winger first suffered the head injury following a punch to the head from John Scott. Though Scott will remain under suspension for Wednesday's contest to defuse the potential for a brawl ensuing, Jackman is still listed on injured reserve for the Ducks. Boudreau could just opt to have Jackman sit out an extra game before making his return over the weekend.

Ducks' Jackman Skates Monday

News: Tim Jackman (head) was able to skate Monday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: It doesn't sound like Tim Jackman has been cleared to take contact yet, making his return date relatively uncertain at this juncture. He's expected to miss his third straight game Wednesday.

Ducks Place Jackman (Head) On IR

News: Tim Jackman (head) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.
Analysis: With Tim Jackman unable to resume skating after taking a hit to the head last Monday, it would seem that the winger is suffering from the effects of a concussion. He'll be viewed as out indefinitely until he receives clearance to resume practicing.

Ducks' Jackman (Head) Leaves Monday's Game

News: Tim Jackman will not return to Monday's game after taking a hit to the head from John Scott.
Analysis: Tim Jackman should be considered day-to-day until the Ducks release further information on his apparent head injury. Fortunately for Jackman, the Ducks have a significant break before they play the Coyotes on Saturday.

Ducks' Jackman Records Two Points In Win

News: Tim Jackman scored the game-tying goal, had an assist, and was credited with five shots on goal in Friday's win over the Wild.
Analysis: A two-point night for Tim Jackman? Now that is something you don't see every day. The fourth-liner has managed just three points (two goals) in 24 games this season, to go with 44 PIM. Considering he's only reached the 20-point mark once in his career, the 33-year-old isn't worth a look in fantasy unless your league places huge emphasis on PIM.

Ducks' Jackman Back In Tuesday

News: Tim Jackman (illness) will be back in the lineup Tuesday against the Flames, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: The Ducks will get Tim Jackman back after he missed Sunday's game due to a case of the stomach flu, but will be without center William Karlsson on account of the same ailment Tuesday night. It's probably not a fair trade off for the Ducks, but Jackman has been a key presence on the team's checking line. He's already accumulated 43 hits and 37 penalty minutes over 18 games.

Ducks' Jackman Out Sunday With Stomach Flu

News: Tim Jackman is dealing with the stomach flu and will not play against the Panthers on Sunday, Curtis Zupke of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: The next opportunity for Tim Jackman to take the ice will be against the Flames on Tuesday. At this point, he should be considered day-to-day moving forward.

Ducks' Jackman Picks Up 21 PIM In Loss

News: Tim Jackman was credited with 21 PIM and five hits in Sunday's loss to the Sharks.
Analysis: The fourth-line winger has one goal in nine games this season, while averaging 7:57 of ice time. Considering he has never recorded more than 23 points in a season, don't expect much from this depth forward. He leads the league with 35 PIM, but aside from that, he really doesn't provide much in fantasy.

Ducks' Jackman Could Be Cleared By Week's End

News: Coach Bruce Boudreau said Tim Jackman (hand) could be cleared to resume playing by the end of the week, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
Analysis: Although Tim Jackman might typically merit consideration for Boudreau's lineup, the fact that the Ducks have reeled off three games in a row against the Kings probably would have the coach hesitant to mess with success. In addition, the broken hand has kept Jackman out for over a month, so he'd likely be quite rusty if he were to make his return to the lineup. It would seem more likely that Jackman wouldn't play until the Western Conference Finals, should the Ducks advance.

Ducks' Jackman Suffers Broken Hand

News: Tim Jackman suffered a broken hand Friday, and the injury will require surgery, the Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: There's no timetable for a return, so Tim Jackman can be considered out indefinitely. He won't be back during the regular season, and his playoff availability may depend on how long the Ducks stay alive. With five points and 103 penalty minutes in 36 games, he's provided about what you'd expect from a fourth-line tough guy.

Jackman Scores In Ducks' Win

News: Tim Jackman scored a goal during the first period of a 2-1 victory over the Kings.
Analysis: While Tim Jackman only has four goals this season, it might be worth noting that two of those goals have taken place during the course of his last three games.

Jackman Scores In Ducks' Loss

News: Tim Jackman scored a goal during the second period of a 4-3 shootout loss to the Canadiens on Wednesday.
Analysis: Saturday's contract extension must have really energized Tim Jackman, as Wednesday's goal is only his third of the season and ends a eight-game-long pointless streak for him.

Ducks' Jackman Inks One-Year Extension

News: Tim Jackman signed a one-year, $637,500 extension with the Ducks on Saturday.
Analysis: After coming over in an early-season trade with the Flames, Tim Jackman has appeared in 20 games for the Ducks, delivering two points and accruing 48 penalty minutes. He'll now add some stability on the Ducks' fourth line through the 2014-15 season.
