Devils' Janssen Signs One-Year, Two-Way Deal

News: Cam Janssen has re-signed with the Devils for 2014-15, agreeing to a one-year, two-way deal worth $575,000, The Record reports.
Analysis: The 30-year-old wing was due to hit free agency on July 1, but the new deal will keep him with the Devils organization for at least one more season. He split time between the NFL and AHL last season, scoring three goals and recording 22 penalty minutes in 24 appearances for New Jersey.

Devils' Janssen Sent To Albany

News: Cam Janssen was reassigned to AHL Albany on Tuesday, The Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
Analysis: After passing through waivers unclaimed, Cam Janssen will take up residence in Albany for the foreseeable future. The 29-year-old has averaged less than five minutes of ice time in 24 games with the Devils this season, but he has recorded three goals and a plus-3 rating.

News: Cam Janssen was placed on waivers by the Devils on Monday, Renaud Lavoie of the Montreal Journal reports.
Analysis: Cam Janssen has played in 24 games for the Devils this season, scoring three goals over that stretch to go along with 22 penalty minutes. The enforcer could head to the AHL if he clears waivers.

Devils' Janssen Healthy

News: Cam Janssen (knee) will be in the lineup Wednesday against the Senators, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Cam Janssen appeared to injure his knee during Tuesday's practice, but won't end up missing any time because of it. The winger, who has three goals and a plus-3 rating in 19 games this season, should be considered fully healthy moving forward.

Devils' Janssen Skates Wednesday

News: Cam Janssen (knee) appeared to be skating well Wednesday morning, Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Cam Janssen injured his knee at practice Tuesday, but returned to the ice Wednesday, and seemed to be skating at full speed. There's no official word on whether or not he'll play Wednesday against the Senators, but he looks like a good bet to be in the lineup at this point.

Devils' Janssen Suffers Minor Injury In Practice

News: Cam Janssen suffered an apparent right knee injury after wiping out during in a one-on-one drill during Tuesday's practice, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Coach Pete DeBoer met with the press after practice, indicating that Cam Janssen's injury was a scare more than anything and he still expects the winger to play Wednesday against Ottawa. The few fantasy players who count on Janssen can probably feel comfortable inserting him in their lineups.

Devils' Janssen Debuts With Goal

News: Cam Janssen skated less than four minutes in his season debut with the Devils, but picked up his first goal of the year Thursday in a 3-0 win over Philadelphia.
Analysis: Cam Janssen's better known for his goon points than his offense, as his last goal came way back in the 2010-11 season as a member of the Blues. Don't count on more.

Devils Recall Janssen

News: The Devils recalled Cam Janssen from AHL Albany, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: With just one assist in 11 games with Albany this season, the veteran winger won't provide much offensive production for the Devils, but he has racked up 752 PIMs in 312 career NHL games to date.

Janssen Waived By Devils

News: The Devils placed Cam Janssen on waivers Sunday, the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
Analysis: This isn't much of a surprise, as Cam Janssen's role on the team is minimal. He played only a few minutes a night while active and spent much of last season in the minors. Janssen skated in just four games last year, collecting no points and two penalty minutes.

Devils Demote Janssen

News: The Devils have assigned Cam Janssen to AHL Albany, the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
Analysis: Cam Janssen suited up for the Devils in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Lightning -- seeing 5:37 worth of ice time -- but he'll head back down to the AHL, with the Devils looking to mix things up in the midst of a six-game losing streak.

Devils Recall Janssen

News: Cam Janssen was promoted from AHL Albany on Tuesday, according to the Record's Tom Gulitti.
Analysis: The Devils are mired in a five-game losing streak, and while Cam Janssen won't help them score goals, the team is looking for a spark. If Janssen gets into the lineup, don't be afraid to use him in daily leagues that reward penalty minutes. He's played three NHL games this season, going minus-1 with no points.

Devils Place Janssen On Waivers

News: The Devils placed Cam Janssen on waivers Wednesday, The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Cam Janssen will be assigned to AHL Albany, if he is not claimed by another team before noon Thursday. Janssen has had a minimal impact on the score sheet throughout his career, and that hasn't changed this year, with him failing to record a point in three games.

Devils Re-Sign Janssen

News: Cam Janssen agreed to a one-year, two way contract with New Jersey on Thursday, the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
Analysis: This move isn't going to ensure the stability of New Jersey's attack, but bringing Cam Janssen back toughens up the team's fourth line and gives them someone more than willing to drop the gloves. Janssen will not contribute much outside of the penalty department during the scant ice time he receives.

New Jersey's Janssen Inactive For Game 2

News: Cam Janssen will be inactive for Friday's Game 2 against Florida, the Bergen County Record reports.
Analysis: Cam Janssen has failed to make much of an impact for the Devils this season, recording only one point in sparse playing time. The Devils evidently felt other players were more useful than Janssen for Game 2.

Janssen Back In Devils' Lineup

News: Cam Janssen will play Tuesday night against the Rangers after being a healthy scratch for six games, the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports.
Analysis: Cam Janssen has been out of the lineup this season due to due both injuries and being a healthy scratch. Janssen is trailing Devils goalie Martin Brodeur in points this season, but can be a good option for those seeking goon points in daily leagues, as he has 55 penalty minutes.

Janssen Returns In Devils' Win

News: Cam Janssen played 3:34 in his return from a chest injury, accumulating five penalty minutes in a fight with Florida's Krys Barch.
Analysis: Cam Janssen was barely on the ice long enough to break a sweat, but he managed to drop the gloves in his return. Janssen is currently trailing Martin Brodeur on the team's points race this season, but he will drop the gloves often. If you need quick goon points in daily leagues, Janssen is a safe pick up.

Devils' Janssen To Return Tuesday Night

News: Cam Janssen (chest) will play against the Panthers on Tuesday night, Rich Chere of The Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Use Cam Janssen as you normally would. Returning from a minor chest injury will not affect his ability to rack up penalty minutes.

Devils' Janssen Won't Play Monday

News: Cam Janssen won't play Monday against Tampa Bay, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Devils coach Pete DeBoer said that he'd consider Cam Janssen for Tuesday's game against Florida. Janssen isn't much of a threat to score, but if you're in need of penalty minutes, Janssen is your guy.

Devils Activate Janssen

News: Cam Janssen (chest) has been activated from IR, the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: He'll replace Anton Volchenkov on the Devils' active roster after getting knocked out of action against the Jets on December 3. If you're looking for a bruiser, Cam Janssen should be able to provide penalty minutes when he's in the lineup.

Janssen To Miss Second Straight Game

News: Cam Janssen (chest bruise) will not play Thursday against Ottawa, according to the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti.
Analysis: Cam Janssen missed Tuesday's win over Toronto after suffering the injury in Saturday's loss to Winnipeg. Janssen will not contribute much to the team's attack as Martin Brodeur has more points than Janssen's zero in 22 game, but he does have 28 penalty minutes.

Chest Bruise For New Jersey's Janssen

News: Cam Janssen's injury from Saturday is a deep chest bruise, ESPN's Katie Strang reports.
Analysis: Cam Janssen is day-to-day but is expected to be available by the weekend. The Devils have a Saturday game against Montreal, so it looks like Janssen shouldn't miss any time beyond that.

Devils' Janssen Taken To Hospital With Undisclosed Injury

News: Cam Janssen left Saturday's game with an undisclosed injury and was taken to the hospital, the Devils' official site reports.
Analysis: Cam Janssen only averages about six minutes of ice time, but he's amassed 28 PIMs in 21 games, 10 of which came against Colorado earlier this week. If you need PIMs in deeper leagues, he could help out. That's assuming that whatever injury he suffered isn't going to keep him sidelined long. The team was forced to take him to the hospital for precautionary X-rays, because there is no X-ray machine at the Jets' arena.

Devils' Janssen to Suit Up Thursday

News: Cam Janssen will dress Thursday for the first time this season, the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Cam Janssen was a healthy scratch in New Jersey's first two games, but he will play against the Kings on Thursday night. Janssen has just 10 career points at the NHL level, but some fantasy owners should be able to find a spot for a guy who has racked up 675 PIM in 260 games played.

Janssen Fights In Devils' Loss

News: Cam Janssen had a scrap with the Islanders' Trevor Gillies during Saturday's preseason loss.
Analysis: Cam Janssen will receive fourth-line minutes with New Jersey and is expected to provide energy in a checking role. He's not shy about dropping the gloves and can be a sage choice for those who stream goons. Remember, penalty minutes are his only source of value to fantasy leaguers.

Devils Sign Janssen

News: The Devils signed Janssen to a one-year, two-way contract, the Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Janssen, a former Devil, will reprise the role he held with the Blues that past few seasons, giving New Jersey a fourth-line depth winger and an enforcer. "He's very excited to be back with Lou (Lamoriello) and the Devils," agent Kevin Magnuson said. "It's a great opportunity for Cam with Pierre being traded earlier in the day."
