Canucks' Burrows Confirmed To Play Tuesday

News: Coach Willie Desjardins confirmed that Alex Burrows (lower body) will be back in the lineup Tuesday against the Flyers, Irfaan Gaffar of Sportsnet reports.
Analysis: The lower-body ailment prevented Alex Burrows from being an option for Saturday's game against the Maple Leafs, but he seems to be good to go after taking to the ice during Monday's practice. He skated alongside Brad Richardson and Chris Higgins at Tuesday's morning session.

Canucks' Burrows Scores Twice In 17 Seconds

News: Alex Burrows scored a pair of third-period goals just 17 seconds apart Tuesday in a 4-1 win over Philadelphia.
Analysis: An impressive effort from the veteran winger, who snapped a five-game scoreless skid. Nonetheless, at this stage of his career, Alex Burrows is a modest contributor in terms of both points and PIM, restricting his fantasy value to deep leagues.

Canucks' Burrows Expected Back Tuesday

News: Alex Burrows (undisclosed) is expected to return for Tuesday's game against the Flyers.
Analysis: Alex Burrows said as much Monday, and while he isn't officially locked into the lineup, there's no reason to think he won't play. He only missed one game.

Canucks' Burrows Set To Return

News: Alex Burrows (undisclosed) indicated Monday that he will be ready to play Tuesday against the Flyers.
Analysis: Alex Burrows, who last suited up on March 12, has not recorded a point in his last five games. Overall though, he has notched 12 goals and 25 points in 56 games for the Canucks to date.

Canucks' Burrows Set To Sit Out Saturday

News: Alex Burrows (undisclosed) isn't expected to play Saturday against the Maple Leafs, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 reports.
Analysis: The Canucks will be getting a number of players back from injury Saturday, so Alex Burrows' absence shouldn't be missed too much. It remains unclear what exactly is ailing him, but he should be viewed as day-to-day until the Canucks provide word otherwise.

Canucks' Burrows Questionable For Saturday

News: Alex Burrows (undisclosed) is considered questionable for Saturday's game against the Maple Leafs, Elliott Pap of the Vancouver Sun reports.
Analysis: Alex Burrows wasn't present at Friday's practice, with coach Willie Desjardins suggesting the forward was receiving "more of a maintenance day." While that would usually indicate Burrows isn't dealing with an injury, Desjardins was somewhat evasive when asked if Burrows would play Saturday. The Canucks are expected to get two of their injured forwards in Brad Richardson and Chris Higgins back in the lineup against the Maple Leafs, so it wouldn't be surprising if Burrows sat out to further recuperate. It's possible he still might be hurting from the groin injury he returned from last week.

Canucks' Burrows Slated To Play Thursday

News: Alex Burrows (groin) was a full participant at the Canucks' morning skate and looks in line to play Thursday against the Coyotes, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 reports.
Analysis: Alex Burrows resumed skating with the team Monday after first suffering the groin injury about two weeks ago. He skated as a member of the Canucks' second line and saw duty on the top power-play unit during Thursday's morning skate, a likely indicator that the team considers him fit to play. The winger has been about a half-point-per-game contributor when he's been healthy enough to suit up this season, notching 12 goals and 13 assists in 52 games.

Canucks' Burrows Gets In Brief Skate

News: Alex Burrows (groin) was briefly on the ice prior to Monday's practice, Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: Coach Willie Desjardins indicated Monday that Alex Burrows is getting closer to playing, but until the forward resumes practicing in full with the team, his exact date return date will remain clouded.

Canucks' Burrows Set To Miss Another

News: Alex Burrows (lower body) is expected to miss Thursday's game against the Sabres, Jeff Paterson of TSN Radio 1040 reports.
Analysis: Alex Burrows hasn't been spotted on the ice since apparently suffering the injury during last Thursday's game against the Rangers. He'll sit out a fourth straight game with the ailment, which could eventually force him to injured reserve.

Canucks' Burrows (Lower Body) Won't Play Sunday

News: Alex Burrows (lower body) won't play Sunday against the Islanders.
Analysis: Alex Burrows was scratched late before Friday's contest due to the lower-body injury, and it will cost him Sunday's game as well. The winger has tallied just 25 points in 52 games with season, and his absence will likely draw Zack Kassian into the lineup again Sunday.

Canucks' Burrows Out Friday

News: Alex Burrows (lower body) won't play Friday against the Devils.
Analysis: At this point in time it isn't clear when Alex Burrows sustained the lower body injury, but it's safe to assume it happened at some point in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Rangers. The severity of the injury is currently unknown. The team should release more information regarding Burrows' status in the coming days, but for now, he should be considered day-to-day.

Canucks' Burrows Scratched Friday

News: Alex Burrows will be scratched Friday against the Devils.
Analysis: Zack Kassian will enter the Canucks' lineup in Alex Burrows' place. It seems likely Burrows, who has been thriving on Vancouvers' top line with the Sedin twins, is being scratched due to injury, and the team should release more information regarding Burrows' status in the near future.

Canucks' Burrows Thriving Back With Sedin Twins

News: Alex Burrows is thriving on the top line with the Sedin twins, contributing two goals, four points and 12 shots on goal in his last five games.
Analysis: Radim Vrbata, who is on a seven-game point streak, has been dropped to the second line, meaning Alex Burrows has been reunited with his old linemates on the top line. Burrows is also playing on the top power-play unit, so he's worth checking out in some deeper leagues. Knowing the way he's clicked with the twins in the past, if Burrows stays on the top line, he could be an underrated waiver wire add down the stretch.

Canucks' Burrows Has Best Game Of Season

News: Alex Burrows had arguably his best game of the season Saturday, netting a game-winning power-play goal and adding an assist in a win over Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Alex Burrows is thriving back on the top line with the Sedin twins, scoring twice in his last three games. The 33-year-old has recorded 12 goals in 46 games this season, including two game-winners. As the Canucks embark on their hunt for a playoff spot, Burrows could be worth looking at, as he's playing on the top line and is only three years removed from a 28-goal season.

Burrows Buries Goal As Canucks Win

News: Alex Burrows found twine on one of his two shot attempts in Tuesday's win over the Jets.
Analysis: Alex Burrows was appointed to the top line in the game and it immediately paid dividends, as the Sedin brothers were both credited with assists on his first-period goal. It doesn't seem likely that the Canucks will permanently deploy Burrows on the top trio, but if he's able to build any sort of scoring streak, coach Willie Desjardins could reconsider those plans.

Canucks' Burrows Adds Power-Play Goal

News: Alex Burrows chipped in a power-play assist and doled out six hits in Thursday's win over the Flyers.
Analysis: Alex Burrows recently enjoyed a stint on the top line with the Sedin brothers, but no points came of the opportunity. He's since returned to the second line, where he'll function as a quality depth contributor for the Canucks. However, with 18 points in 37 games to go along with only moderate PIM and hit totals, Burrows doesn't offer much to get excited about from a fantasy perspective.

Canucks' Burrows Picks Up Assist In Loss

News: Alex Burrows extended his point streak to three games Sunday, collecting an assist in a loss to Anaheim.
Analysis: Alex Burrows now has four points (two goals) in his past three games, putting him at 16 points (eight goals) in 29 games on the season. While he's been inconsistent throughout the year, the 33-year-old winger should still end up with 20 goals this season, making him valuable in deeper formats.

Two Goals For Canucks' Burrows On Monday

News: Alex Burrows found twine twice Monday, scoring his seventh and eighth goals of the year in a 7-1 beatdown of the visiting Coyotes.
Analysis: After scoring four goals in six games back in November, Alex Burrows had gone nine games without lighting the lamp, so it was nice to see him get the scoring monkey off his back. In 28 games this year, Burrows now has 15 points, an even rating, 22 PIM and 59 SOG, making him relevant again in some formats.

Canucks' Burrows To Return Tuesday

News: Alex Burrows (upper body) will return to the lineup Tuesday against the Devils, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Alex Burrows missed the previous two games with an upper-body injury, but the Canucks signed off on his return to the lineup after he was able to participate in Monday's practice. With nine points in 16 games, the winger is already more than halfway to his point total from his disappointing 2013-14 season.

Canucks' Burrows Returns To Practice Monday

News: Alex Burrows (upper body) skated in practice on Monday, Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: Alex Burrows has missed the past two games due to the upper-body injury, and it is still unclear when he will return. In 16 appearances this season, the 33-year-old winger has four goals and five assists.

Canucks' Burrows Unlikely Sunday

News: Alex Burrows (upper body) will likely miss Sunday's game against the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Alex Burrows missed Thursday's contest and Saturday's practice, so it would be no surprise if he misses it. Linden Vey will likely slot in on the second line while Bo Horvat should dress assuming Burrows can't go.

Canucks' Burrows Not Practicing

News: Alex Burrows (upper body) wasn't present for Saturday's practice.
Analysis: Linden Vey was taking his spot on the second line at practice, seemingly indicating Alex Burrows is far from a safe bet to play Sunday versus the Blackhawks. The forward was previously a surprising scratch from Thursday's game with the injury.

Canucks' Burrows To Miss Thursday's Game

News: Alex Burrows has an upper-body injury and will not play in Thursday's game vs. the Ducks, the team's official Twitter account reports.
Analysis: It remains unclear what Alex Burrows is dealing with, but we do know he woke up sore this morning and didn't take part in the morning skate. Linden Vey will take his place on the second line Thursday, while Bo Horvat will fill in for Vey on the fourth line. Burrows is having himself a nice bounce-back season thus far, collecting four goals and nine points in 16 games.

Canucks' Burrows Scores Third Of Season

News: Alex Burrows potted his third goal of the season in Sunday's win over the Sharks.
Analysis: Alex Burrows has been a decent fantasy play this season, netting eight points in 13 games, to go with a plus-5 rating. Skating on the second line with the surging Nick Bonino, Burrows should score 20 goals and land in the 50-point range. He's a great secondary scorer.

Canucks' Burrows Returns Thursday

News: Alex Burrows (suspension) will be back in the lineup Thursday against the Sharks, Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: Alex Burrows served a three-game ban for his check to the head of the Habs' Alexei Emelin last week, but with his return, prospect Bo Horvat will be forced to the press box. The veteran winger has rebounded well from a dismal 2013-14 campaign, scoring two goals and six points in 10 games prior to his suspension.
