Bruins Demote Hennessy

News: The Bruins have assigned Josh Hennessy to AHL Providence, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Josh Hennessy, who was scoreless in three games with the Bruins, could be back at some point, but in the long run he's strictly a depth guy up front for the team.

Hennessy Up With Bruins

News: Josh Hennessy, who has been recalled by the Bruins, is a healthy scratch for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.
Analysis: Josh Hennessy, who was second on AHL Providence with 30 points (15-15-30) in 49 games, gives the Bruins some depth up front, but he's a spare part as long as the team's current group of forwards remains healthy.

Hennessy Joins Bruins

News: The Bruins have signed Hennessy to a one-year contract, the team's official site reports.

Hennessy signs two-year deal

News: The Senators signed center Josh Hennessy to a two-year, two-way contract Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not released.
Analysis: Hennessy was held scoreless in five games with the Senators last season. He started the season with the Senators, appearing in two games before being returned to Binghamton (AHL). In 76 games with Binghamton, Hennessy was second on the team in goals (22) and points (51), while adding 49 penalty minutes. Hennessy is a former 2003 second rounder that has yet to make an impact in the NHL. Ignore him in Fantasy until further notice.

Hennessy plays just three shifts

News: Josh Hennessy was recalled from Binghamton of the AHL on Wednesday and he played three shifts in the regular season opener at Toronto. He was scoreless in 2:22 of ice time.
Analysis: Hennessy's stay in the NHL is not expected to be very long this time around. Avoid him in all Fantasy leagues.

Hennessy recalled, scores

News: Rookie Josh Hennessy, who was recalled as an emergency option if Antoine Vermette (lower body injury) was unable to go, added his first NHL goal in Sunday's game against the Flyers.
Analysis: Despite the goal, Hennessy is likely headed back to Binghamton as soon as Vermette is ready to return. That might happen as soon as Tuesday.

Hennessy back from Binghamton

News: With forwards Mike Fisher (knee), Jason Spezza (knee) and Antoine Vermette (hip) all out with injuries, the Senators recalled center Josh Hennessy from AHL Binghamton for the game on Saturday. He played for 3:45 and finished with an even-rating.
Analysis: Hennessy is not a recommended Fantasy option at this time.

D Allison assigned to AHL

News: The Ottawa Senators sent D Jamie Allison, D Michal Barinka, D Andy Hedlund, F Josh Hennessey, D Tomas Malec and F Serge Payer to Binghamton of the AHL.
Analysis: A few of these guys have some NHL experience under their belt and will likely be called upon when injuries occur. However, don't expect a whole lot of Fantasy value from this group.

Ottawa acquires Joshua Hennessy

News: In a three-team trade, the Chicago Blackhawks acquired wing Martin Havlat and veteran Bryan Smolinski on Tuesday, while the Ottawa Senators ended up with defenseman Michal Barinka, defenseman Tom Preissing and prospect Josh Hennessy. The San Jose Sharks ended up with forward Mark Bell.
Analysis: Hennessy posted 24 goals and 39 assists in 80 games for Cleveland of the AHL in 2005-06. He is a former second-round pick by the Sharks who has a lot of offensive potential in the NHL. With a strong training camp, it would not be surprising to see him wearing an Ottawa sweater to open the year, although it is more likely he will shuttle between Binghamton and Ottawa in 2006-07.
