News: The Coyotes have assigned Patrick O'Sullivan to AHL Portland, Coyotes' official site reports.

O'Sullivan Scores First Coyotes Goal

News: Patrick O'Sullivan scored his first goal as a member of the Coyotes on Thursday night.
Analysis: Patrick O'Sullivan's goal was a bit fluky - he kicked the puck, but it then went off of a defenseman's stick so it was allowed. He's drawing fourth-line minutes whenever he plays, so don't invest in O'Sullivan.

O'Sullivan Signs With Phoenix

News: Sullivan signed a one-year, two-way contract with Phoenix, the Sports Network reports.
Analysis: He may shuffle between the AHL and Phoenix much of the season. He hasn't been able to establish himself in the NHL, but did have a strong year with Houston of the AHL with 48 points in 36 games, so there's some upside if he finds a role.

O'Sullivan Clears Waivers

News: O'Sullivan cleared waivers Friday, Minneapolis Star Tribune writer Michael Russo reports.
Analysis: He should be reporting to Houston of the AHL imminently.

O'Sullivan Waived By Wild

News: The Wild placed O'Sullivan on waivers Thursday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: If O'Sullivan clears waivers, which is no lock at this point, the Wild will assign him to AHL Houston.

Wild's O'Sullivan Notches Assist

News: O'Sullivan had an assist in 9:29 of ice time in Thursday's win over Boston.
Analysis: He's recently been a healthy scratch most nights, so maybe this outing can get him more consistent playing time.

WIld's O'Sullivan Healthy Scratch Again

News: O'Sullivan was a healthy scratch in Wednesday's win over San Jose.
Analysis: After a hot start after moving to the Wild (three points in five games), he's had two points in his last eight games and has been stuck on the bench the last three games. He doesn't look like much of a fantasy option until he gets more consistent ice time.

WIld's O'Sullivan Notches Assist

News: O'Sullivan had an assist in Saturday's win over the Kings.
Analysis: O'Sullivan was a healthy scratch last Saturday, but should remain in the lineup with injuries to Matt Cullen and John Madden.

WIld's O'Sullivan Will Be Healthy Scratch

News: O'Sullivan will be a healthy scratch for Saturday's game against Dallas, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Chuck Kobasew will return from a groin injury in his place. This is a surprise since O'Sullivan has three points in six games since joining the Wild, so maybe it's just a day of rest.

O’Sullivan Scores in Wild Debut

News: O'Sullivan scored the Wild's only goal in a 6-1 spanking by the visiting Flyers on Wednesday night.
Analysis: O'Sullivan is a stopgap option for both the Wild and many fantasy owners. Everyone should hope that this is the start of good things for O'Sullivan in his fourth NHL city.

Wild's O'Sullivan Ready for Debut

News: O'Sullivan will make his Wild debut Wednesday night, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.
Analysis: With an opportunity to skate with Matt Cullen and Cal Clutterbuck at the start of Wednesday's game, there's a chance O'Sullivan will click with his new club and begin producing for the team that actually drafted him seven years ago.

Minnesota Picks O'Sullivan Off Waivers From Carolina

News: O'Sullivan, placed on waivers Monday by the Hurricanes, has been claimed by the Wild, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: O'Sullivan lost a battle for significant playing time with the 'Canes, a team loaded with emerging forwards. The Wild lack scoring, something that O'Sullivan can provide every once in a while when given the chance.

Hurricanes Waive O'Sullivan

News: O'Sullivan has been placed on waivers by the Hurricanes, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
Analysis: The Hurricanes had a surplus at the forward position, which forced the team to scratch O'Sullivan from the lineup several times, even though he was healthy.

Canes' O'Sullivan to Return Wednesday

News: O'Sullivan will return to the lineup Wednesday after being a healthy scratch the last seven games, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: The Hurricanes appear to have extra forwards at the back end of their lineup, which explains why O'Sullivan has been held out so often. According to the report, you can expect to see O'Sullivan slotted on the fourth line, with his teammate Jiri Tlusty taking a turn as a healthy scratch. Neither player has any fantasy value given the lack of playing time.

Hurricanes' O'Sullivan Back in the Lineup

News: O'Sullivan will be back in the Hurricanes' lineup Monday night in place of Jiri Tlusty, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: You'll want to check out his line assignment and see if the Canes give him any time on the power play before considering him for a pickup.

Canes' O'Sullivan: Healthy, but Out Monday Against Flyers

News: O'Sullivan will be a healthy scratch Monday against Philadelphia, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Analysis: O'Sullivan has been in and out of the lineup this season, making it very difficult to rely on him in any fantasy pools. At this time and until he starts getting more consistent playing time, it's safe to give him the cold shoulder in all different league formats.

Canes' Sullivan: Back in Action Friday

News: O'Sullivan, a healthy scratch in Carolina's last contest, will play Friday against the Rangers, according to John Forslund, television play-by-play announcer for the Hurricanes.
Analysis: O'Sullivan has only participated in five out of the eight games for the 'Canes this year. He simply does not get enough playing time to warrant attention in fantasy leagues.

Patrick O'Sullivan

Canes Putting O'Sullivan in the Press Box

News: O'Sullivan, who has a goal through five games this season, will be a healthy scratch against Washington on Wednesday night, the Raleigh News & Observer's Chip Alexander reports.
Analysis: There's a lot of competition with the young forwards in Carolina for playing time, while the success of Jeff Skinner in his rookie campaign has only contributed to that battle since he's been gobbling up significant minutes. If you were looking for O'Sullivan to rekindle some of his west-coast form, it doesn't look like that's going to happen -- at least in the early part of this season.

Canes' O'Sullivan: Paving Own Path Towards Top Lines

News: O'Sullivan could appear on one of the top three lines against the Sharks on Tuesday, the Raleigh News and Observer reports.
Analysis: O'Sullivan was the lone goal scorer in Sunday's 5-1 road loss to the Canucks. Skating on a top three line only cracks the surface of what O'Sullivan needs in order to start possessing significant fantasy value. Consider alternatives in fantasy land for the time being, but track O'Sullivan in the meantime as a potential spot-start down the road.

O'Sullivan Scores First Goal As a Hurricane

News: O'Sullivan scored his first goal as a Hurricane in a 5-1 loss to Vancouver on Sunday night.
Analysis: O'Sullivan, a North Carolina native, continues to adjust nicely with his new team. In each successive game, he's earned more ice time and fired more shots on goal. It's safe to pass over him in fantasy pools unless he starts scoring on a consistent basis.

Canes' O'Sullivan Ready For New Beginnings

News: O'Sullivan will make his Hurricanes debut in the season opener Thursday against the Wild, the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Analysis: O'Sullivan is listed on the team's official depth chart as a fourth-line winger. He gets a clean slate after finishing minus-35 last season with the Oilers.

Canes' O'Sullivan: First Line Action In Training Camp

News: O'Sullivan has appeared on the first line with Eric Staal and Erik Cole in training camp, the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Analysis: Who knows if the pairing will stick for very long, but for what it's worth, O'Sullivan is surviving cuts and garnering positive attention in training camp.

Canes' O'Sullivan: Making His Presence Felt With Goals

News: O'Sullivan scored Carolina's only goal in Friday's 2-1 home loss to Nashville.
Analysis: Playing in his third game in four days, O'Sullivan scored his second goal of the preseason. The free-agent pickup is looking very promising with the Hurricanes, so far.
