Preds' Weber Bags Third Goal

News: Shea Weber registered a power-play goal in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Blackhawks.
Analysis: After struggling out of the gate a season earlier, Shea Weber has been hot from the get-go through the first five games of 2014-15, churning out four points, 15 shots and a plus-5 rating. If the 29-year-old Weber can uphold an offensive pace similar to what he's shown thus far, he'll shatter the career-best 56 points he finished with last season.

Preds' Weber Scores Second Goal Of Season

News: Shea Weber scored his second goal of the season, added an assist, and was a plus-4 in Saturday's win over Dallas.
Analysis: What an effort from Shea Weber, who also finished the night with four shots on goal, two PIM, three hits, and a game-high five blocked shots. He has scored in each of the Predators' two games this season, helping his team to a 2-0-0 record out of the gate. Keep rolling this fantasy stud.

Preds' Weber Kicks Off Season With Goal

News: Shea Weber supplied one of three third-period goals in the Preds' comeback win over the Senators on Thursday.
Analysis: As usual, Shea Weber was one of the driving forces of the Preds' attack, finishing with four shots on goal in his 26:52 of ice time. He chipped in liberally on his own end as well, collecting three hits and two penalty minutes in the victory. Aside from the elite blueliner he opposed Thursday (Erik Karlsson), Weber might be the next-best fantasy defenseman out there.

Weber (Undisclosed) Rejoins Lineup Saturday

News: Shea Weber (undisclosed) led all skaters with 25:54 of ice time in Saturday's preseason loss to Columbus. He did not factor into the scoring but registered three hits and seven shots on goal.
Analysis: Shea Weber missed Monday's game against the Blue Jackets after blocking a hard shot two days earlier against the Panthers, but was able to return to the lineup Saturday for the rematch against Columbus and looked no worse for wear. At this point, we expect him to open the season in good health and be one of the NHL's most productive blue liners. Draft with confidence.

Preds' Weber Rests After Blocking Shot Saturday

News: Shea Weber is not expected to start Monday's preseason scrimmage after blocking a hard shot Saturday against Florida, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Shea Weber, who appeared to be shaking off the effects of the shot on his way to the bench during Saturday's contest, skated with the team Monday but will reportedly not suit up against the Blue Jackets. Bottom line, at this point it sounds like Weber's absence from the lineup is purely precautionary, but consider him day-to-day for now until more details are known.

Preds' Weber Completes Banner Season With Goal

News: Shea Weber tallied a goal in Sunday's season-concluding win over the Wild.
Analysis: Shea Weber finished the season with points in six of his last seven games. The strong finish allowed him to overcome a slow start to end up with a career-best 56 points in 79 contests.

Weber Scores Two For Preds

News: Shea Weber scored a pair of goals and went plus-3 in Thursday's 6-1 win over Buffalo.
Analysis: With the two tallies, the high-scoring defenseman's now reached 20 goals for the second time in his career. He's also been dragging up his disappointing plus-minus lately; since March 11, Shea Weber's gone plus-10, lifting his season mark from minus-16 to minus-6.

Preds' Weber Scores Twice In Win Friday

News: Shea Weber scored two goals, one on the power play, during the Predators' 6-5 win over the Flames on Friday.
Analysis: It was the defenseman's second two-goal game of the season and he now has four points over his last five games. He now has 18 goals and 28 assists over 68 games and appears close to breaking the 20-goal mark for just the second time in his career.

Preds' Weber Ends Slump With Two-Point Night

News: Shea Weber scored his first goal since Jan. 31 and added an assist in Tuesday's win over Buffalo.
Analysis: He'd been without a point in five straight and had just two points in his prior nine games, so this is welcome production for the usually high-scoring defenseman.

Shea Weber

Preds' Captain Weber Ice Cold

News: Shea Weber has just two assists and has skated to a combined minus-3 rating in the last eight games.
Analysis: It should come as no surprise that in those same eight games, the Predators have won just once and now have a near impossible 0.6 percent chance of making the playoffs. The Canadian Olympian is still second among NHL defensemen in goals with 15, and eighth overall with 40 points, but the offensively challenged Predators need more from their star captain. He'll need to go on a tear for the remaining 18 games to surpass his career high of 53 points set in 2008-2009. On the bright side, if anyone can do it, it's Shea.

Weber Tallies Two Helpers For Preds

News: Shea Weber handed out two power-play assists in Thursday's win over the Bolts.
Analysis: He helped out on Roman Josi's game-tying goal and Patric Hornqvist's winner. After a big Olympics with Canada -- three goals, three assists and one gold medal in six games -- Shea Weber looks poised for a strong stretch run.

Preds' Weber Adds Two Points Friday

News: Shea Weber had a goal and an assist in Friday's win for Canada over Austria.
Analysis: Shea Weber scored a goal for the second straight game for Team Canada. The team did not wait long to score in this game as he added the second of a pair of goals for the Canadians in the first period.

Preds' Weber Pots Goal For Canada

News: Shea Weber scored a second-period goal to help Canada to a 3-1 win over Norway on Thursday.
Analysis: Shea Weber unleashed his trademark slapshot past goalie Lars Haugen to give the Canadians a long-awaited 1-0 lead in a game they were expected to dominate. The defenseman has been on a scoring tear since January, and it doesn't look like he'll be slowing down.

Weber Carries Nashville

News: Shea Weber scored two of Nashville's three goals in Friday's 3-2 win over New Jersey, including the overtime winner.
Analysis: Shea Weber had missed a few days of practice but reminded all why he is one of the league's elite players on Friday with two goals in Nashville's comeback win. He leads all NHL defenders in goals with 15.

Preds' Weber Back Friday

News: Shea Weber (upper body) is in the lineup for Friday's game against the Devils, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Analysis: Shea Weber took a few days of practice off with the injury and appeared very questionable all the way up to game time. In a late decision, he is in the lineup for the Predators on Friday.

Preds' Weber Absent From Practice

News: Shea Weber (upper body) did not skate during Thursday's practice, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: The Predators took Wednesday off, so the fact that Shea Weber was unable to return to practice even after a day of rest raises some concern about his injury. As of now, Weber should be considered questionable for Friday's tilt with the Devils. He'd be a huge void for the Predators to fill if he's unable to score, as Weber ranks as the team's second-leading scorer despite playing on the blue line.

Preds' Weber Leaves With Injury

News: Shea Weber left Tuesday's game against the Jets with an upper-body injury, Joshua Cooper of the Tennessean reports.
Analysis: We'll have a better idea of the severity of Shea Weber's injury once the Preds practice Wednesday, but consider him day-to-day for now. Weber registered an assist in Tuesday's game before heading to the locker room early, and now has a line of 13/23/36 in 52 games this season.

Preds' Weber Has Three-Point Night

News: Shea Weber scored his 12th goal and added two assists in Thursday's shootout win over Philadelphia.
Analysis: Nine of his 12 markers -- Thursday's included -- have come on the power play, and he notched his ninth power-play assist on this night as well. Shea Weber's been quite warm over the last nine games, totaling a very impressive 11 points despite suffering a three-game scoreless skid during that span.

Shea Weber

Preds' Weber Red-Hot

News: Shea Weber assisted twice in Tuesday's win over San Jose, pushing his point streak to four games.
Analysis: He's ripped off an impressive seven points in that span and generally has looked quite Shea Weber-like since mid-December after a stone-cold start to the year. All in all, he has 16 points in his last 13 games. Not bad.

Preds' Weber: 13 Points In Last 11 Games

News: Shea Weber put up his second straight two-point game in Saturday's shootout loss to the Panthers. He picked up two assists.
Analysis: Shea Weber has really stepped up his game lately -- he has 13 points, including three goals, in his last 11 games. It's a welcome change from his 13 points in the previous 28 games. You know what to do.

Predators' Weber Heating Up After Slow Start

News: Shea Weber recorded a goal and an assist in Thursday's overtime loss to Boston. He now has 12 points in his last 12 games.
Analysis: After getting off to a horrible start this season, Shea Weber has turned things around recently, registering at least a point in nine of his last 12 games. We knew this turnaround was coming, as he has way more talent than his early-season struggles were suggesting.

Preds' Weber: Seven Points In Last Five Games

News: Shea Weber picked up two power-play points -- a goal and an assist -- in Saturday's OT loss to Montreal. The points extend his current streak to five games and seven points (two goals, five assists).
Analysis: This streak is a bit of relief after Shea Weber struggled through the first 28 games with 11 points. Unfortunately, his minus-10 is his worst mark of his NHL career. Still, make sure you're rolling him ... just make sure you have a counterbalance for that plus-minus.

Weber Lone Man In For Preds

News: Shea Weber scored Nashville's only goal in a 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks on Tuesday.
Analysis: The tally came on a first-period power play, tying the game 1-1 at the time. After a horrendously slow start to the year, Shea Weber's on a point-per-game pace over his last five contests, giving fantasy owners some hope and going a long way toward closing his buy-low window.

Preds' Weber Picks Up Two Assists

News: Shea Weber grabbed a pair of assists in Thursday's win over Dallas.
Analysis: It was his first two-point game since Nov. 16 in what's been a very slow season for the superstar defenseman. He's got three assists in three games since returning from an eye injury that kept him out a bit more than a week.

Preds' Weber (Eye) Gets Assist In Return

News: Shea Weber picked up an assist Saturday in his return to action following an eye injury.
Analysis: Get him back in your lineup immediately. Do not pass "GO." Do not collect $200. Just do it.
