Two Helpers For B's Bergeron

News: Patrice Bergeron assisted on two goals in Saturday's win over the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: With the two assists, Patrice Bergeron eclipsed the 500 point mark for his career and surpassed Adam Oates for 13th place on the franchise's scoring list. The reigning Selke Trophy winner is off to a decent start to 2014-15, accumulating one goal and five assists over 10 games. It would seem unreasonable to expect another 30-goal season given his current pace, but he'll probably have a scoring surge or two in him later on to make a run at it.

Bruins' Bergeron Notches Helper

News: Patrice Bergeron notched an assist in 16:48 worth of ice time during Wednesday's shootout win over Detroit.
Analysis: As ESPN.com notes, Patrice Bergeron endured a bit of an injury scare Wednesday after absorbing a slap shot on his left foot late in the second period of the contest. Fortunately, the outstanding two-way pivot returned for the third period and should be fine for Thursday's game against Montreal.

Bruins' Bergeron Checks Out Fine

News: Patrice Bergeron was able to return to Thursday's game against the Red Wings after leaving the contest for a spell in the second period to undergo the league protocol for suspected concussions, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: Patrice Bergeron, who the report notes has sustained four known concussions over his career, was shaken up after absorbing a hit that saw him go awkwardly into the boards early in the second period of the contest, and headed to the dressing room to be evaluated. To the great relief of the Bruins, who were already missing centers David Krejci and Gregory Campbell, Bergeron was cleared to return. Prior to his exit from the game, the B's outstanding two-way pivot scored the Bruins' only goal in the team's 2-1 loss.

Bergeron Nets Bruins' Lone Goal Thursday

News: Patrice Bergeron scored Boston's only goal of the game in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Red Wings. He finished plus-1 with a pair of PIM.
Analysis: He played just 14:26 due to some kind of minor injury suffered in the second period, but apparently is none the worse for wear. After Patrice Bergeron netted an assist in Wednesday's season opener, that's two points in two games for the immensely talented 29-year-old.

Bruins' Bergeron Welcomes Smith Back

News: Patrice Bergeron's teammate, Reilly Smith, has rejoined the Bruins after signing a one-year, $1.4 million deal with the team, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: Smith, who recorded 51 points in 82 games for the B's last season, is thus presumably on track to rejoin left winger Brad Marchand on the Bruins' capable second line, centered by Patrice Bergeron, who remains one of the league's elite two-way pivots, on the heels of a season in which he recorded 30 goals and 62 points in 80 games, to go along with a plus-38 mark.

Bruins' Bergeron Earns Selke Trophy

News: Patrice Bergeron was named the recipient of the 2013-14 Frank J. Selke Trophy, awarded by the NHL to "the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game," the league's official site reports.
Analysis: The Bruins' outstanding two-way center also earned the trophy in 2011-12. Patrice Bergeron is coming off a season in which he recorded 30 goals and 62 points in 80 games for the B's, recording a spiffy plus-38 rating in the process. Meanwhile, he continued his excellent work on faceoffs (winning 58.6 percent of his draws) and served as a key penalty killer for Boston.

Bruins' Bergeron On Seven-Game Streak

News: Patrice Bergeron continued his postseason hot streak Tuesday, scoring a goal in a Game 3 loss to give him points in seven consecutive contests.
Analysis: He also took six shots, his highest total in that category during these playoffs. It looks like the only thing that may stand in his playoff pool owners' way is the possibility of the Habs eliminating Patrice Bergeron and the Bruins in this series.

Bergeron's Scoring String Reaches Eight In Bs' Win

News: Patrice Bergeron helped the Bruins climb out of a desperate two-goal deficit against Montreal on Saturday afternoon, sparking a late comeback with an assist and the game-tying goal as Boston won 5-3 to even the series at one game apiece.
Analysis: He's registered a point in six straight playoff games, and leads the Bs with eight points in seven postseason tilts.

Bruins' Bergeron Supplies Two Points In Game 3 Win

News: Patrice Bergeron had a goal and assist in Tuesday's Game 3 win over the Red Wings.
Analysis: Patrice Bergeron's empty-netter in the final two minutes of the third period was his first goal of the postseason and put the finishing touches on a shutout victory. With three points in three playoff games, he hasn't seemed to be affected by the lower-body injury that dogged him over the final few games of the regular season.

Bruins' Bergeron Practices Again Thursday

News: Patrice Bergeron (lower body) practiced in full Thursday, CSNNE.com's Joe Haggerty reports.
Analysis: At this point, it looks like Patrice Bergeron will be a safe play for the postseason now that he's practiced for two consecutive days on his usual second line. Bergeron enjoyed another productive regular season for the Bruins, scoring 62 points while showing his typical toughness on defense. He'll have a good chance at claiming the Selke Trophy for the second time in his career.

Bruins' Bergeron Practices

News: Patrice Bergeron (lower body) skated on a line with Brad Marchand and Reilly Smith at Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Patrice Bergeron sat out the Bruins' regular-season finale with a minor lower body injury, but his presence at practice Wednesday -- while skating with his usual linemates, is a strong indication that he'll be good to go for Friday's playoff opener against the Red Wings.

Bruins' Bergeron Rests Sunday

News: Patrice Bergeron (lower body) did not travel with the Bruins to New Jersey, where the team plays Sunday, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Patrice Bergeron is dealing with a minor lower-body issue, so the Bruins will play it safe with him Sunday in advance of the playoffs. He should be available once the postseason commences, but we'll let you know if that assessment changes.

Bruins' Bergeron Dealing With Very Minor Injury

News: Bruins coach Claude Julien said after Saturday's game that Patrice Bergeron's lower-body issue is "very minor".
Analysis: Patrice Bergeron was pulled from Saturday's game in the third period, after sitting with a minor undisclosed injury Thursday against the Jets. It's obviously not what the Bruins want to see, but it sounds like the star two-way forward should be fine for the playoffs. However, he's highly unlikely to play in Sunday's regular-season finale.

Bruins' Bergeron Set To Return

News: Based on the team's pregame line rushes, Patrice Bergeron (undisclosed injury) is in line to return to the Bruins' lineup Saturday against the Sabres.
Analysis: Patrice Bergeron sat out Thursday's shootout loss to the Jets with an undisclosed minor injury, but based on warmups, he's slated to resume his duties centering the Bruins' second line on Saturday.

Bruins' Bergeron Dealing With Minor Injury

News: Patrice Bergeron sat out Thursday's shootout loss to the Jets with what was described as an undisclosed minor injury, the Bruins' official site reports.
Analysis: It's unclear what's ailing Patrice Bergeron, but with the B's having been resting key players selectively of late, it's not surprising that a minor issue was enough to prompt the team to rest the center on Thursday. Consider Bergeron day-day-day in advance of the team's back-to-back games, Saturday (against Buffalo) and Sunday (against New Jersey).

Bruins To Rest Bergeron Thursday

News: Patrice Bergeron will be rested for Thursday's game, the Bruins' official Twitter account reports.
Analysis: Patrice Bergeron will be afforded a night off Thursday given the small amount of time remaining in the regular season. Thus, both the Bruins and Bergeron's fantasy owners will be forced to replace his impressive haul of 29 goals and 32 assists this season.

Bruins Could Rest Bergeron On Thursday

News: Patrice Bergeron was not spotted at the Bruins' Thursday morning skate, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Benjamin adds that coach Claude Julien did not confirm that Patrice Bergeron will be rested Thursday night against the Jets, but that's a plausible scenario after the team made fellow center David Krejci a healthy scratch on Tuesday against the Wild.

Bergeron Scores In Bruins' Loss

News: Patrice Bergeron scored a goal in Tuesday's shootout loss to the Wild.
Analysis: By notching the tally, Patrice Bergeron extended his career-high point-scoring streak to 12 games. With three games left on their regular season slate, the Bruins may selectively rest key cogs this week, with Bergeron among the players who may get a breather in advance of the playoffs.

Bruins' Bergeron Pushes Point Streak To 10

News: Patrice Bergeron scored a goal, added an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's overtime loss to Toronto, pushing his point streak to 10 games.
Analysis: Patrice Bergeron has simply been awesome over the course of this streak, scoring nine goals and adding five assists. Oh, and he's now plus-36 on the year, matching his career high.

Bruins' Bergeron Tallies Two Points In Win

News: Patrice Bergeron collected a goal and an assist in Saturday's win over the Capitals.
Analysis: With the marker, Patrice Bergeron extended his goal-scoring streak to a career-best six games. While the Bruins attack is firing on all cylinders as it has been since the Olympic break, Bergeron is worth starting in just about any format.

Bergeron's Two Goals Push Streak To Six

News: Patrice Bergeron scored the first and third goals of Thursday's 3-0 win over Chicago.
Analysis: That first goal gives him his seventh game-winner, and Patrice Bergeron's now got goals in five straight games and points in six straight. He'll again fall short of the 70-point mark, which he hasn't reached since 2006-07, but Bergeron has a very legit chance at reaching 60 points for the fourth time. He's sitting on 53 after Thursday's tallies.

Bergeron Scores In Bruins' Win

News: Patrice Bergeron found nylon Saturday against Phoenix to reach the 50-point mark for the season (22G, 28A).
Analysis: He's picked up the pace lately with five goals and five assists in his last eight games; he's worth a start in most formats, in part because the Bruins are on fire right now.

Bruins' Bergeron Scores Goal In Win Friday

News: Patrice Bergeron scored his 21st goal of the season during the Bruins' 2-0 win over the Avalanche on Friday.
Analysis: Patrice Bergeron has now scored in back-to-back games and has four points and a plus-3 rating over his last three games. He now has 21 goals and 28 assists over 70 games this season.

Bruins' Bergeron Notches Two Points

News: Patrice Bergeron scored a goal, tacked on a shorthanded assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's win over New Jersey.
Analysis: He's been rather productive of late, tallying eight points to go with a plus-6 rating in his last six contests. This has been a solid campaign for Patrice Bergeron, who's netted 48 points, and with a plus-34 rating on the year, has a shot at eclipsing his career-high plus-36, set in 2011-12.

Two Points For B's Bergeron In Win

News: Patrice Bergeron had a goal and assist in Wednesday's win over the Canadiens.
Analysis: For the second straight game, Patrice Bergeron turned in a multi-point performance for the Bruins. The Bruins don't necessarily have a clear-cut star at forward on their roster, but players like Bergeron, David Krejci, and Milan Lucic score with enough regularity to provide quality depth for fantasy squads.
