Brown is called up by Vancouver

News: Vancouver Canucks has recalled right wing Mike Brown from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL on Wednesday. Brown has one goal and 51 penalty minutes in nine games with the Canucks.
Analysis: Brown, 22, has played in 21 games with the Manitoba Moose this season, where he has scored two goals and one assist to go with 102 penalty minutes. He has no Fantasy value at this time.

Mike Brown returns Wed.

News: LW Mike Brown, back in the lineup the last two games after Jeff Cowan separated his shoulder Saturday, took a puck in the face in the first period but returned to the game with a thick patch of stitches covering his right eyebrow.
Analysis: It still didn't prevent him from engaging in a second period fight with Travis Moen. He has little Fantasy value when healthy.

Mike Brown scores Sunday

News: Mike Brown tied Sunday's game at Minnesota at 5:39 of the second period, tipping a shot by Lukas Krajicek past Niklas Backstrom.
Analysis: It was the first career goal in three games for Brown, who had three points and 69 penalty minutes in 17 AHL games this season before being recalled prior to the team's Nov. 21 meeting. Brown took Trevor Linden's place in the lineup for a second straight game because of his toughness. He's not worth owning in most Fantasy formats.

Mike Brown drops gloves

News: LW Mike Brown was hardly a surprise addition to the lineup against Minnesota Wednesday, taking the place of veteran Trevor Linden on Wednesday night after being called up from the AHL specifically to play the Wild after the teams engaged in a cheap-shot filled contest last week, leading to plenty of talk about retribution. As expected, Brown, a 6-foot, 210-pound energy player, dropped the gloves. Not against 6-foot-7, 260-pound Wild enforcer Derek Boogaard, who only managed to pick up a minus-1 rating in his 3:54 of ice time after making veiled threats toward several of the Canucks skill players, but against lighter-weight tough guy Aaron Voros. As for all the tough talk, any excessive rough play seemed to die down after Stephane Veilleux was penalized for taking a long, high run at Markus Naslund and the Canucks captain opened the scoring on the ensuing power play.
Analysis: Ohlund served the third game of a four-game suspension for a baseball-swing slash Friday that left Minnesota forward Mikko Koivu with a cracked bone in his leg. Ohlund returns on Sunday against Chicago. Brown's not worth using in most Fantasy formats at this point. He did get a five-minute major for fighting though.

Mike Brown called up Tuesday

News: RW Mike Brown, a tough guy who leads Manitoba in penalty minutes, was recalled from the AHL for Wednesday's rematch with Minnesota.
Analysis: Brown is a prospect in leagues that reward penalty minutes heavily, but keep him reserved outside of larger leagues for now.

Vancouver calls up Mike Brown

News: The Vancouver Canucks sent speedy forward Jannik Hansen to Manitoba of the American Hockey League and called up tough winger Mike Brown on Monday. The timing is notable because Vancouver plays in Edmonton on Tuesday before traveling to Minnesota to play the Wild on Wednesday, a rematch of a game on Friday that was filled with animosity.
Analysis: Brown has three points and 69 penalty minutes in 17 AHL games this season, after the 22-year-old finished last season with three points and a team-high 194 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 210-pound winger had one assist, two fights and 32 penalty minutes in five NHL preseason games this season. Consider him in leagues that reward PIM heavily.
