Ducks' Perry Skates Wednesday

News: Corey Perry (knee) skated on his own back in Anaheim on Wednesday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Corey Perry isn't traveling with the Ducks on their road trip while he remains more than a few days away from playing, but his return to the ice does offer hope that he's coming close to the end of his recovery timetable. If he demonstrates strong progress over the next few days, he could be activated in time for next Monday's home game against the Sharks. Otherwise, his return wouldn't come until after the Christmas break.

Ducks' Perry (Knee) Out Three-To-Four Weeks

News: Corey Perry will miss three-to-four weeks due to a sprained left knee, Janis Carr of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: The Ducks wasted no time in placing Corey Perry on injured reserve Monday after assessing his condition during an evaluation earlier in the day. The setback is a troubling development for Perry, considering his injury was initially categorized as a minor knee ailment when we was forced out of Friday's game. The Ducks will now be without their top sniper through at least the New Year, perhaps creating the opportunity for Kyle Palmieri, Jakob Silfverberg or Devante Smith-Pelly to emerge as Ryan Getzlaf's right-hand man on the top line.

Ducks Place Perry On IR

News: Corey Perry (knee) was placed on injured reserve Monday.
Analysis: The Ducks aren't expected to provide an update on the extent of Corey Perry's injury until Tuesday, but the placement on IR ensures that he won't be eligible to return until Saturday, meaning he'll miss at least the team's next two games. Fantasy owners can only wait and hope that the Ducks' next status update on Perry doesn't extend his timetable much further than that.

Ducks' Perry (Knee) Set For Evaluation

News: Corey Perry (knee) will be re-evaluated when the Ducks return home, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Corey Perry can safely be ruled out for Sunday's game against Winnipeg in light of this news. While Perry, who suffered the knee injury Friday, is currently without a timetable for a return, his evaluation early next week should yield an estimate for his recovery period.

Ducks' Perry Suffers Minor Knee Injury

News: Corey Perry suffered a minor knee injury in Friday's game, but will continue to travel with the team, Helene Elliot of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis: The fact that he will travel with the team to Winnipeg suggests he could take the ice in the very near future. Consider him day-to-day.

Ducks' Perry Leaves With Lower-Body Injury

News: Corey Perry left Friday's game against the Wild in the first period and is doubtful to return.
Analysis: Corey Perry's injury came on a hip check by Keith Ballard, after which he was helped straight to the locker room. He missed an extended period of time earlier in the season with the mumps, as did multiple teammates. It would be another big blow to the club if the injury costs Perry more time, but the Ducks should provide an update on his status at some point before their next game Sunday against the Jets.

Ducks' Perry Helps Out On Two

News: Corey Perry picked up two helpers in Wednesday's win over the Flyers.
Analysis: Corey Perry's second assist game on a power-play goal for Patrick Maroon, snapping the Ducks' 0-for-19 skid with the man advantage. In addition, Perry also beat goalie Steve Mason for the game-winning tally in the shootout.

Ducks' Perry Managed Three Points In Loss

News: Corey Perry scored a pair of goals, had an assist, and was credited with six shots on goal in Saturday's loss to San Jose.
Analysis: An all-around dominant effort from Corey Perry, who now has 14 goals in just 20 games this season. With 20 points in 20 games, to go with a plus-9 rating, Perry is an automatic start every game.

Ducks' Perry Gets First Goal Since Returning

News: Corey Perry scored his 12th goal of the season while racking up four hits and two penalty minutes in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Flames.
Analysis: The goal was Corey Perry's first since returning from a bout with the mumps virus five games ago, with his previous tally coming all the way back on Nov. 2. Despite the drought, Perry still ranks fourth in the NHL in goals and should begin to make up some ground on league leader Tyler Seguin now that he seems to be back to full strength.

Ducks' Perry Quiet In Return

News: Corey Perry (illness) managed two shots on goal and finished with a minus-2 rating over his 18:57 of ice time in Sunday's loss to the Panthers.
Analysis: Corey Perry didn't have much of an impact offensively in the blowout loss, but the Ducks were certainly glad to have him back active after he missed five games while battling the mumps virus. The team is still waiting on Francois Beauchemin to return from the same affliction, but it appears the illness is no longer festering in the Ducks' locker room.

Ducks' Perry (Illness) Will Play Sunday

News: Corey Perry (illness) will play in Sunday's game against the Panthers after being activated from the injured reserve, Curtis Zupke of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Corey Perry only started skating Friday but it appears that he's recovered from the mumps virus enough to play Sunday. The 29-year-old has 11 goals and four assists on the season and should be a threat to increase those numbers against the Panthers despite the time away from the ice.

Ducks' Perry (Illness) To Be GTD Sunday

News: Corey Perry (illness) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Analysis: Corey Perry just resumed skating on his own Friday, but it seems he still has an outside chance to play against Florida. While a return during next week's road trip still seems more realistic, Perry will attempt to convince the coaching staff of his health during pregame warmups.

Perry (Illness) Skates On Own Again Friday

News: Corey Perry (illness) was skating on his own again Friday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Corey Perry's status for the weekend's back-to-back game appears unlikely at this point, and the road trip following the weekend is appears to be a questionable target return date as well. Perry will likely need to get in some conditioning and possibly a couple practices with the team before rejoining the lineup.

Ducks' Perry Resumes Skating Thursday

News: Corey Perry (illness) rejoined the Ducks on Thursday, skating on his own before the team's practice.
Analysis: Corey Perry had been kept away for the last several days while he dealt with the contagious mumps virus, an illness that has also afflicted teammate Francois Beauchemin. However, after showing improvement in his condition the last couple of days, Perry is now set to begin preparing for his return, with coach Bruce Boudreau not ruling him out for either of the Ducks' back-to-back weekend tilts against the Kings and Panthers, according to Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register. Still, it would seem more likely that Perry waits until next week before returning from injured reserve, since the viral infection undoubtedly will require a little time for him to regain full conditioning. Perry reportedly dealt with body temperatures as high as 102 degrees while he was hospitalized last week with a fever.

Ducks' Perry (Illness) To Return Soon

News: Corey Perry has been dealing with the mumps virus and is considered day-to-day.
Analysis: While the illness has sidelined Corey Perry for a week, he has already been cleared to return, and should be able to take the ice again "in a matter of days."

Ducks' Perry Diagnosed With Viral Gland Infection

News: Corey Perry (illness) has been diagnosed with a viral gland infection and will undergo further testing.
Analysis: What was initially thought to be a minor case of the flu has morphed into a larger problem for Corey Perry, who has missed three straight games with the illness and has yet to resume skating. Though Perry is feeling better, both he and defenseman Francois Beauchemin have been advised to stay away from the team to prevent their contagious diseases from spreading to the rest of the team. More information on Perry's condition should be known when the Ducks receive the results of his medical tests Wednesday, but there remains no definitive timetable for the forward's return.

Ducks Place Perry on Injured Reserve

News: Corey Perry (illness) was placed on injured reserve by the Ducks on Sunday.
Analysis: Corey Perry wasn't expected to play Sunday anyway, and the move is retroactive and will allow him to be activated for Wednesday's game. Dany Heatley or Tim Jackman will likely slot in while Perry is out.

Ducks' Perry Officially Out Sunday

News: Corey Perry (illness) has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Canucks.
Analysis: As anticipated, Corey Perry will miss his third straight game while he continues to recover from the flu. He'll turn his attention toward preparing for a return to the lineup Wednesday against the Kings.

Ducks' Perry Doubtful For Sunday

News: Corey Perry (illness) is doubtful to play Sunday versus the Canucks, NHL.com's Curtis Zupke reports.
Analysis: Though Corey Perry's condition has been reportedly improving, he remained off the ice for Saturday's practice, making it unlikely he'll return to the lineup. He's missed the previous two games with the flu, allowing Devante Smith-Pelly to pick up some ice time on the team's top line.

Ducks' Perry Still Ailing

News: Corey Perry (illness) did not practice Saturday, Lance Pugmire of the LA Times reports.
Analysis: Corey Perry is still questionable for Sunday's game against the Canucks, and even though he didn't practice Saturday, his status is improving. Perry is off to an electric start this season, with 11 goals and four assists through 13 games.

Ducks' Perry Ruled Out Friday

News: Corey Perry (illness) will not play Friday against the Coyotes, Elliott Teaford of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Analysis: Corey Perry wasn't able to participate in either of the Ducks' skates Thursday or Friday, suggesting he's still feeling the effects of the illness that made him a late scratch Wednesday night. While he'll be in the press box for another game, it shouldn't be long before Perry is back operating at full strength. The winger leads the NHL with 11 goals.

Ducks' Perry Skips Practice

News: Corey Perry (illness) didn't practice Thursday and remains day-to-day, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Coach Bruce Boudreau said that Corey Perry, who missed Wednesday's loss to the Islanders with the flu, just needs a little more time for the illness to run its course. His status for Friday's game against the Coyotes likely won't be known until after the Ducks complete their morning skate.

Ducks' Perry Out Wednesday Due To Illness

News: Corey Perry will not play Wednesday night due to flu-like symptoms.
Analysis: Corey Perry will take a seat along with fellow first-liner Ryan Getzlaf, as both players are feeling a bit under the weather in advance of Wednesday night's contest. Consider Perry day-to-day heading into Friday's matchup with the Coyotes.

Two More Points For Ducks' Perry

News: Corey Perry potted a goal and dished out an assist in Friday's win over the Stars.
Analysis: After being held off the scoresheet for the previous three games, Corey Perry didn't take long to reemerge as a vital offensive cog for the Ducks, tallying his 10th goal of the season and assisting on Nate Thompson's overtime winner. Despite the small scoring drought, Perry still ranks tied for fourth in the league in scoring with 14 points.

Ducks' Perry Drops Gloves In Loss

News: Corey Perry took a break from scoring Sunday, dropping the gloves and collecting 17 PIM in a loss to San Jose.
Analysis: Corey Perry has been an elite fantasy asset through 10 game this season, recording nine goals, 12 points, 23 PIM, four power-play goals, 34 shots on goal, and a plus-7 rating. You really can't do much better. Keep this guy rolling, as he will be back scoring goals in no time. He's that good.
