Caps' Fehr (Upper Body) Out For Game 7

News: Eric Fehr (upper body) won't play in Game 7 against the Islanders on Monday, Mike Vogel of the Caps' official site reports.
Analysis: Eric Fehr - who suffered the upper-body injury in Game 3 - skated on his own Sunday, but won't be available for the club as they look to advance to the second round of the playoffs. However, coach Barry Trotz indicated he would be available in the next round should the Capitals.

Caps' Fehr Likely Out Until Possible Game 7

News: Eric Fehr (upper body) isn't expected to return to the lineup for the first-round series against the Islanders unless there's a Game 7, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports.
Analysis: After Eric Fehr left last weekend's game with the injury, the Capitals ruled him out for Games 4 and 5, and now it appears safe to count him out for Game 6 as well. The forward has yet to resume skating, but coach Barry Trotz said that Fehr was still being labeled as day-to-day and hadn't been ruled out of the series. Michael Latta entered the lineup in his stead beginning in Game 3 and should continue to occupy a spot until Fehr returns.

Caps' Fehr Out At Least Next Two Games

News: Coach Barry Trotz said Eric Fehr (upper body) will miss "at least the next two games," Chuck Gormley of CSN Washington reports.
Analysis: The news is a significant blow to the Capitals, who are already down 2-1 in their first-round series against the Islanders and could surely use the assistance of Eric Fehr, one of the team's better two-way players. Jay Beagle took Fehr's place on the team's third line after Fehr exited Sunday's Game 3 early in the first period.

Caps' Fehr Misses Practice

News: Eric Fehr (upper body) did not practice Monday, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Eric Fehr, who left Sunday's game against the Islanders with an upper body injury, thus looks iffy for Tuesday's Game 4, though that could change if he is able to join the team's morning skate in advance of the contest.

Caps' Fehr Exits Sunday's Game

News: Eric Fehr (upper-body injury) will not return to Sunday's game against the Islanders, Chuck Gormley of CSN Washington reports.
Analysis: Prior to his exit from Sunday's contest, Eric Fehr -- who notched 33 points in 75 regular season contests -- saw 1:19 worth of ice time. Consider him day-to-day in advance of Tuesday's Game 4 against the Isles.

Caps' Fehr Questionable (Upper Body) To Return

News: Eric Fehr suffered an upper-body injury in Sunday's Game 3 matchup against the Islanders and is questionable to return, Chuck Gormley of CSN Washington reports.
Analysis: Eric Fehr suffered the injury on a hard hit, and has a history of upper-body issues leading into the playoffs. An update should come either some point during the game or after regarding his status, but at this point it's up in the air whether or not he'll return.

Caps' Fehr Back In Monday

News: Eric Fehr (upper body) took part in line rushes at morning skate and looks to be available Wednesday against the Islanders, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Eric Fehr was sidelined for the Capitals' final three regular-season games due to the injury, but the extra time off appears to have him healthy heading into the postseason. He's set to skate on the Caps' third line, where he'll center Brooks Laich and Jay Beagle.

Caps' Fehr Practices Monday

News: Eric Fehr (upper body) practiced Monday, the Washington Times reports.
Analysis: While Eric Fehr's presence on the ice bodes well for his chances of suiting up Wednesday against the Islanders, coach Barry Trotz fell short Monday of confirming Fehr's Game 1 status.

Caps Rule Out Fehr For Regular-Season Finale

News: Eric Fehr (upper body) will not play in Saturday's regular-season finale against the Rangers, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports.
Analysis: The forward was able to practice Friday and likely could have played if it were Game 1 of the playoffs, but with the Capitals' spot in the postseason secure, there's no incentive to play him at less than 100 percent Saturday. Eric Fehr will finish the regular season with 19 goals and 33 points, his highest totals in both categories since the 2009-10 campaign.

Capitals' Fehr Likely Out Wednesday

News: Eric Fehr skated on his own after the Capitals' morning skate and isn't likely to play Wednesday against the Bruins, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports.
Analysis: While Eric Fehr figures to sit Wednesday, the Capitals don't appear to have ruled him out of the team's regular-season finale Saturday against the Rangers. However, he'll need to return to practice either Thursday or Friday before the Capitals will likely feel comfortable using him. The forward, who has 19 goals and 33 points on the season, will be replaced in the lineup by Andre Burakovsky, who was recalled from AHL Hershey over the weekend.

Capitals' Fehr Skates Before Practice

News: Eric Fehr (upper body) skated before Tuesday's practice, Alex Prewitt of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: The Capitals recalled Stanislav Galiev from AHL Hershey on an emergency basis Tuesday, indicating that Eric Fehr and/or Tom Wilson (upper body) is in danger of missing Wednesday's game against the Bruins. Fehr has already lost one game to the upper-body injury, which he suffered during Saturday's game against Ottawa.

Caps' Fehr Day-To-Day

News: Eric Fehr is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
Analysis: Eric Fehr, who suffered the injury Saturday against Ottawa, is slated to miss Sunday's game against the Red Wings, as a result.

Caps' Fehr Helps On Two In Win

News: Eric Fehr dished out a pair of assists in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: Eric Fehr also finished with a plus-2 rating, improving his season total to plus-9. The pair of points pushed the 29-year-old past his 31-point output from last season though he's still seven back of his career-high 39 points from the 2009-10 season. Fehr has provided valuable contributions from a bottom six forward role, but that sort of production often doesn't translate to fantasy success.

Caps' Fehr Nets Goal, Ends Scoring Drought

News: Eric Fehr tallied a goal in Washington's 3-2 OT win against New Jersey.
Analysis: Eric Fehr was demoted to the fourth line, but still managed to score his first goal since Mar. 3, and ended an eight-game skid where he failed to record a single point. Although he has had a fine season for a depth player, his lack of offensive opportunities and inconsistency in scoring render him a reach in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues.

Fehr Collects Goal In Caps Win Over Columbus

News: Eric Fehr finished Tuesday night's 5-3 win over Columbus with a goal and three shots.
Analysis: This gives Eric Fehr points in back to back games to give him two goals and three assists in his last six games. Though still a fixture on the team's third line, Fehr has enough offensive upside to warrant consideration in deeper leagues, as he looks to have his best campaign since 2009-2010 when he had 21 goals and 39 points in 69 contests.

Caps' Fehr Runs Point Streak To Three

News: Eric Fehr extended his point streak to three games with an assist in Wednesday's loss to the Penguins.
Analysis: Since he's only mustered one shot attempt during the last three games (though he did find twine), it's difficult to get excited about Eric Fehr's uptick in production. That said, if his distribution of points earlier this season is any indication, Fehr is prone to streakiness, so this three-game run could be the start of something bigger.

Caps' Fehr Nets Goal In Win

News: Eric Fehr notched his 16th goal of the season in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Kings.
Analysis: Eric Fehr was able to drum up some fantasy interest about a month earlier upon tallying six goals and eight points during a five-game span, but wasn't able to do much to build on it. Since that time, he's recorded only three goals and an assist in 11 games, which is more on par with what he's delivered throughout the season.

Caps' Fehr (Lower Body) Returns To Action Saturday

News: Eric Fehr (lower body) ended up playing in Saturday's loss to the Stars, scoring a goal in his 14:53 of ice time.
Analysis: Eric Fehr missed the Capitals' game on Friday night, but after entering Saturday's contest as a game-time decision, he was given the go-ahead to play following pregame warmups. The forward has 22 points in 41 games this season, and has already bested his total of 13 goals from a year earlier.

Capitals' Fehr (Lower Body) Game-Time Decision

News: Eric Fehr (lower body) will be a game-time decision ahead of Saturday's contest with the Stars, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Eric Fehr's injury is not believed to be serious, although he already missed Friday's game against the Predators due to the ailment. If he's unable to play Saturday, his next opportunity to take the ice will come against the Oilers on Tuesday.

Capitals' Fehr Will Not Play Friday

News: Eric Fehr (lower body) will not play Friday against Nashville, Mike Vogel of WashingtonCaps.com reports.
Analysis: It's not clear when Eric Fehr suffered the injury, however, it's apparently serious enough to keep him out of Friday's contest against the Predators. Fantasy owners can consider Fehr day-to-day with the injury. However, his status for Saturday's game against Dallas is up in the air at this point in time. Michael Latta will take Fehr's place in the Caps' lineup for Friday's contest.

Fehr Leads Caps To Win With Three Points

News: Eric Fehr collected two goals and an assist in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: The winger's three point night earned him the game's first star as his team dismantled the Leafs. Eric Fehr now has 20 points on the season, including eight in his last five games. His fantasy trade return will probably never be higher than it is right now.

Caps' Fehr Strikes First In Winter Classic

News: Eric Fehr led off the scoring in the annual NHL Winter Classic, tallying an unassisted goal in the first period of Thursday's 3-2 win over the Blackhawks.
Analysis: The goal makes Eric Fehr the answer to an obscure bit of trivia, as he currently sits as the top goal scorer in NHL history for outdoor games (he previously scored twice against the Penguins in the 2011 NHL Winter Classic. More importantly, Fehr is steadily capturing the attention of fantasy owners, as he's now produced five goals over his last three games. However, with no more than 39 points in a full season for his career, the 29-year-old looks like a prime candidate to slow down dramatically in the coming games.

Capitals' Fehr Strikes Twice Saturday

News: Eric Fehr potted a pair of goals, including the game-winner, and was a plus-3 in Saturday's win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Another clutch effort from Eric Fehr, as four of his nine goals this season have been game-winners. The 29-year-old now has 14 points in 32 games, to go with a plus-8 rating. The third-line center is a solid secondary scorer who can put up 20 goals, making him valuable in deeper formats.

Caps' Fehr Delivers OT Winner

News: Eric Fehr assisted on Joel Ward's game-opening goal Thursday, and later finished the game with a goal of his own 42 seconds into overtime.
Analysis: Eric Fehr has just seven goals on the season, but three of them have been game-winners. As a modest offensive contributor who doesn't provide much in the way of secondary fantasy stats, Fehr holds quite minimal value in most formats.

Fehr Scores Game-Winner Against Carolina

News: Eric Fehr had the game-winning goal in Washington's 2-1 win over Carolina on Thursday.
Analysis: Eric Fehr also tallied three shots and three hits in just under 16 minutes of ice time to give him points in back-to-back games. While he's a versatile player for the Capitals, his role as a bottom-six forward and lack of opportunity in offensive situations make Fehr a reach in all but the deepest of leagues.
