Tyutin Picks Up Two Points As Jackets Fall

News: Fedor Tyutin contributed a goal and an assist in Monday's Game 6 loss to the Penguins.
Analysis: After missing two games earlier in the series due to injury, Fedor Tyutin very nearly led the Blue Jackets to a comeback for the ages. The Penguins held a 4-0 lead entering the third period, but Tyutin's short-handed tally put the Blue Jackets on the board, and his assist on Nick Foligno's one-timer cut the deficit to one goal. The Jackets ultimately fell short, but Tyutin will at least enter the offseason with his head held high.

News: Fedor Tyutin (undisclosed) took part in Friday's morning skate, The Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Fedor Tyutin has missed the Blue Jackets' past two games with an undisclosed injury, but looks to have a decent shot at returning for Game 5 on Saturday. His participation in Friday's practice bodes well for his chances, although his status will likely need to be confirmed leading up to the game.

Blue Jackets' Tyutin Expected Back During Series

News: Coach Todd Richards said he expects Fedor Tyutin (undisclosed) to play at some point in the series with the Penguins, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The Blue Jackets are guaranteed at least two more games following Wednesday's come-from-behind win that tied the series at two games apiece. It remains unclear if Fedor Tyutin, who has missed the last two games, will be able to suit up for Saturday's Game 5, but his status should be determined following that day's morning skate.

Jackets' Tyutin Out For Game 4

News: Fedor Tyutin (undisclosed) will not play in Game 4 against the Penguins on Wednesday, Brent Wallace of TSN reports.
Analysis: There's still no update on what exactly is ailing Fedor Tyutin, but he'll watch his second straight game from the press box Wednesday. The team gets a two day break before Game 5 on Saturday, so there's a chance Tyutin could be healthy enough to return by then.

Jackets' Tyutin Returns To Action Saturday

News: Playing his first NHL game since February 7, Fedor Tyutin (ankle) took a regular shift and played 21:34 in Saturday's shootout win over the Wild.
Analysis: It looks like he'll be fine to use going forward, although with just four goals, 24 points, 30 PIM and a plus-6 rating in 54 games on the season Fedor Tyutin doesn't provide a whole lot of fantasy value in most formats.

Blue Jackets' Tyutin Playing Saturday

News: Fedor Tyutin (ankle) took the ice for pregame warmups without any issues, and he will likely play in Saturday's game against the Wild, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Activated from injured reserve Friday, Fedor Tyutin was still considered a game-time decision Saturday. He hasn't played since Feb. 7, so there may be a bit of rust to shake off.

Jackets Activate Tyutin From IR

News: Fedor Tyutin (ankle) was activated from injured reserve Friday.
Analysis: While the move seems to suggest that Fedor Tyutin will be in lineup Saturday vs. the Wild, it wouldn't seem entirely clear-cut, as coach Todd Richards said after practice that Tyutin would be a game-time decision. However, if Tyutin makes it through morning skate Saturday without any noted limitations, fantasy owners should activate him with the assumption he'll suit up.

Blue Jackets Hope To Have Tyutin On Saturday

News: Coach Todd Richards said that there's a chance Fedor Tyutin (ankle) will return from injured reserve for Saturday's game vs. the Wild, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Richards noted that Fedor Tyutin's ankle has improved dramatically the last few days, and while he won't be able to suit up Thursday vs. the Sharks, he could be good to go after a few more practices. In spite of the injury, the 30-year-old Tyutin is enjoying his seventh straight 20-point season.

Blue Jackets' Tyutin Closing In On Return

News: Fedor Tyutin (ankle) amped up his skating Tuesday, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports. "[Tyutin's ankle is] really feeling much better," coach Todd Richards said, after the defenseman's session.
Analysis: Richards has ruled Fedor Tyutin out for Tuesday's game vs. the Red Wings and Thursday's tilt with the Sharks, but it seems plausible that he could return to the lineup over the weekend. Look for him to resume practicing with his teammates before that happens.

Blue Jackets' Tyutin Resumes Light Skating

News: Fedor Tyutin (ankle) skated lightly Tuesday but will not travel with the team for Thursday's game in Chicago, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: It would seem likely that Fedor Tyutin would miss all three games of the team's road trip, but that could change depending on how well he progresses over the next few days. Tyutin is nearing the two-week mark of the two-to-three week timetable initially established for his injury.

Jackets Place Tyutin On IR

News: The Blue Jackets placed Fedor Tyutin (ankle) on IR on Monday, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The team recalled Dalton Prout from AHL Springfield to fill the hole left by Fedor Tyutin on the blue line. Tyutin has racked up four goals and 20 assists in 53 games this season, and will likely be reinserted into the lineup as soon as he's healthy.

Jackets' Tyutin Likely IR Bound

News: Fedor Tyutin (ankle) will likely land on IR later this week when Marian Gaborik is activated, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: It's expected that Fedor Tyutin is another week or two away from returning, so the move will likely be a retroactive one and he'll be eligible to rejoin the Columbus lineup once he's healthy enough to do so.

Jackets' Tyutin Helps Out In Win

News: Fedor Tyutin notched a pair of assists -- one of them shorthanded -- and went plus-3 in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Capitals.
Analysis: He's been helping out with relative regularity, totaling six assists in his last nine games. Though Fedor Tyutin remains without a goal since scoring in consecutive games Dec. 14 and 16, he's a solid defender for the back end of fantasy rosters in a variety of formats.
