Jacques Traded To Lightning

News: The Lightning have acquired Jean-Francois Jacques from the Panthers in exchange for future considerations, the Sports Network reports.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques, who has five goals and two assists in 24 games for AHL San Antonio to date, has never been much of a scorer at the NHL level, but if/when he does suit up for the Lightning, the 6-3, 231-pounder can be counted on to deliver PIMs. He has 197 penalty minutes to go along with 17 points in 166 career NHL games.

Jacques Signs With Panthers

News: The Panthers‬ have signed Jean-Francois Jacques to a one-year, two-way deal, Harvey Fialkov of The Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques adds size and depth to the Panthers' left wing corps, but with just 17 points in 166 career NHL games, his fantasy contributions are limited to PIMs (197 overall) and hits (275 overall).

Anaheim's Jacques Clears Waivers

News: Jean-Francois Jacques cleared reentry waivers Thursday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques has just five points (four goals) in his last 57 NHL appearances, so he's not a fantasy consideration at the moment.

Ducks Assign Jacques To AHL Syracuse

News: The Ducks assigned Jean-Francois Jacques to AHL Syracuse on Tuesday, according to the team's official Twitter page.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques still owes the NHL a three-game suspension, but with the Ducks in need of healthy players, they decided to remove Jacques from the roster instead of another eligible player.

Anaheim's Jacques Suspended Three Games

News: Jean-Francois Jacques was suspended three games by the NHL's Deparment of Player Safety on Monday for a hit on Columbus' R.J. Umberger on Sunday, according to TSN.ca.
Analysis: The elbow to the head delivered by Jean-Francois Jacques garnered the attention of Brendan Shanahan and the Ducks will be without one of their enforcers for the next week. He was recently recalled from Syracuse and was suspended earlier in the season for jumping Vancouver's Mike Duco during a preseason game.

Jacques Recalled By Ducks

News: The Ducks have recalled Jean-Francois Jacques from AHL Syracuse, the Ducks' official site reports.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques is a PIM-a-game type, who doesn't offer much upside on offense, as evidenced by his total of 17 points in 165 career NHL games.

Ducks Assign Jacques To AHL Syracuse

News: The Ducks assigned Jean-Francois Jacques to AHL Syracuse on Tuesday, according to the team's official Twitter page.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques has appeared in just two games since Dec. 26, so the Ducks sent him back to Syracuse to open up a roster spot, possibly for recent trade acquisition Luca Caputi.

Ducks Recall Jacques

News: The Ducks recalled Jean-Francois Jacques from AHL Syracuse on Saturday, according to the team's official Twitter page.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques appeared in one game with the Sharks earlier this season but did not record a point. He will be the 13th forward on the Ducks' roster, so it remains to be seen how much action he will see.

Ducks Send Jacques To Minors

News: The Ducks have reassigned Jean-Francois Jacques to AHL Syracuse, the team's official Twitter page reports.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques played a career-high 51 games with Edmonton last year (five points) but has only suited up for one NHL game this season. He has eight points (4G, 4A) in ten games with Syracuse this year but didn't record one in his game with Edmonton. The 26-year-old winger should be off all fantasy radars.

Ducks Recall Jacques

News: Jean-Francois Jacques has been recalled from AHL Syracuse, the Ducks' official Twitter feed reports.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques was initially up with the Ducks in October to serve a five-game suspension but didn't log any ice time. He has 16 points and a -21 in 100 NHL games since 2009, so he seems like a fill-in, fourth-line type player for Anaheim.

Ducks Send Down Jacques

News: The Ducks have reassigned Jean-Francois Jacques to AHL Syracuse, the team's official Twitter page reports.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques was called up to finish out his NHL suspension. Now that it's over, back to Syracuse he goes. He could get another chance with the Ducks down the line this season.

Ducks' Jacques Serves Final Game of Suspension

News: Jean-Francois Jacques served the last of his five-game NHL suspension on Sunday, the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: The Ducks will soon decide whether or not to send Jean-Francois Jacques back to the AHL. Jacques reportedly regrets the hit that got him suspended. "I've never been a dirty player like that," he said. "I've never got suspended in juniors or the American League. It's not what I wanted to accomplish at training camp. Whatever happened, happened and now I've got to move on from it and play some good hockey," Jacques said.

Ducks Recall Jacques

News: The Ducks recalled Jean-Francois Jacques from Syracuse of the AHL on Saturday, the team's official Twitter page reports.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques was sent down just a day earlier, but the Ducks brought him back up again with Devante Smith-Pelly still dealing with an illness. He'll likely fill a wing spot on the third our fourth line in Saturday's game if Smith-Pelly can't go.

Ducks Reassign Jacques

News: The Anaheim Ducks have reassigned Jean-Francois Jacques to AHL Syracuse, the Ducks' official Twitter page reports.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques spent the previous six seasons with Edmonton, never recording more than 11 points and never finishing with a positive +/-. He has four points for Syracuse this season, where he is likely to remain for the short-term.

Ducks Recall Jacques

News: Jean-Francois Jacques has been recalled from AHL Syracuse, the Ducks' official Twitter feed reports.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques will be a fourth-liner if he sees ice time. He only has nine goals in 160 NHL games and probably fits best on a checking line.

Ducks' Jacque Supsended Five Regular Season Games

News: Jean-Francois Jacques has been suspended by the league five games for Saturday night's attack on Vancouver's Mike Duco, the Ducks' official site reports.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques was also suspended the remainder of the preseason. The hit happened in the last five minutes of the game, so at least a one-game preseason suspension was mandatory. Apparently, the league felt it was violent enough and excessive enough to hold Jacques out of regular season action as well.

Ducks' Jacques May Face Supplemental Discipline

News: Jean-Francois Jacques is facing potential supplementary discipline as a result of his attack on Vancouver's Mike Duco on Saturday night, reports TSN.ca.
Analysis: Jean-Francois Jacques came onto the ice on a legal line change in the final five minutes of the game and made a bee-line to Duco who wanted nothing to do with Jacques. Duco turtled and Jacques went nuts, ultimately receiving an automatic one-game suspension (preseason) for being the instigator in the final five minutes of a game.

Anaheim's Jacques Booked For 17 PIMs

News: In Saturday's preseason game at Vancouver, late in the third frame of a 4-1 Anaheim win, Jean-Francois Jacques collected a bushel of penalty minutes (fighting, instigator, game misconduct) all at once.
Analysis: Now, why would he do that with the outcome decided, in a preseason contest to boot? Well, perhaps he's fishing for a slot on a checking line and wanted to impress the coaching staff with his toughness. The PIM bonanza was his only flash in an otherwise pedestrian night (0 points, 0 shots, 4 hits).

Ducks Sign Jacques

News: Jacques has signed a two-way deal with the Ducks that will pay him $650,000 in the NHL and $105,000 in the AHL, the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Jacques had four goals and an assist in 51 games with the Oilers last season and overall has lit the lamp just nine times in 160 NHL contests. Assuming the 6-foot-4, 217-pound left winger breaks camp with the Ducks, he's likely in line to see fourth-line duty.

Jeff Deslauriers, Martin Gerber, Steve MacIntyre, Jason Strudwick, Jim Vandermeer, Alex Giroux, Richard Petiot, Ben Ondrus, and Greg Stewart are also free to sign with any team starting Friday.

Oilers' Jacques Dealing With Foot Bruise

News: Jacques is out indefinitely with a foot bruise, 630 CHED's Dan Tencer reports.
Analysis: With the likes of Jacques and Gilbert Brule sidelined, the Oilers are likely to summon some reinforcements up front from the AHL in short order.
