Analysis: Meyer will report to AHL Abbotsford. The Flames will likely keep him in the minors for a while to get him some playing time, but do not be surprised to see Meyer back in Calgary later in the season.

Analysis: Meyer has just one assist in 12 games so far this year, and his active status remains in flux. The scoring opportunities will remain few and far between no matter who mans the Flames' fourth line, however.

Meyer Could Make Flames' Opening Roster

News: Meyer will probably make the Flames' opening roster, the Calgary Herald reports, thanks to the slew of injuries suffered in training camp and the preseason.
Analysis: Meyer will likely center the fourth line, which is normally plenty enough to dissuade you from owning him. Factor in that he's with the Flames and their defense-first system, and he's further safe to avoid.

Meyer, Coyotes come to terms

News: The Phoenix Coyotes have signed left wing Stefan Meyer to a one-year contract. The 23-year-old Meyer was acquired on June 19 from the Florida Panthers for the rights to center Steven Reinprecht.
Analysis: Meyer had 18 goals and 22 assists in 65 games last season with Rochester of the AHL. He played in four games for the Panthers during the 2007-08 season. Meyer is a 2003 second-round pick that has never really matured into anything more than a career minor leaguer. He might get a chance with the Coyotes but can be ignored in most Fantasy formats Draft Day.

Meyer gets fresh start with Coyotes

News: The Phoenix Coyotes have traded the rights to center Steven Reinprecht to Florida for left wing Stefan Meyer. The Coyotes are in bankruptcy proceedings and made the deal because they did not plan to re-sign Reinprecht, a pending unrestricted free agent.
Analysis: The 23-year-old Meyer appeared in four games for the Panthers in 2007-08. He spent all of last season in the AHL, where he recorded 18 goals and 40 points in 65 games. Meyer is a 2003 second-round pick that has never really matured into anything more than a career minor leaguer. He might get a chance with the Coyotes but can be ignored in most Fantasy formats Draft Day.
