Seabrook Active In Chicago Win

News: Brent Seabrook grabbed two assists in Chicago's 4-3 win over Los Angeles in Friday's Game 6 of the Western Conference finals. He has three points in the last two games.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook has been seeing more power-play time and has two of his last three points on the man advantage. Seabrook remains one of the Hawks' best defensemen and will continue to see scoring chances.

Hawks' Seabrook Could Be Part Of Top PP Line

News: Brent Seabrook was practicing on the top power-play line on Sunday and could be sitting there in Game 4 on Monday night against the Kings, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook and Patrick Sharp switched spots with Sharp going to the second power-play line in practice. Blackhawks' coach Joel Quenneville is looking to shake things up on the power play that went 0-for-4 in Game 3 and have struggled on the road during the playoffs with a man advantage.

Chicago's Seabrook Grabs Two Helpers

News: Brent Seabrook assisted on two of Chicago's five goals in Friday's Game 1 win over Minnesota in their Central Division finals series, giving him four assists in the last two games.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook looked to have Chicago's first goal, but the shot was tipped in by Bryan Bickell. The minute-eating defender, who missed three games due to suspension in the first round, notched assists on the game's opening goal and the winning goal and will be a major factor in any success the Blackhawks have.

Blackhawks' Seabrook Tallies Two Assists

News: Brent Seabrook returned from a three-game suspension to pick up two helpers in a Game 6 win over the Blues on Sunday.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook, despite only playing in three playoff games so far, already has six points, and clearly missing three games did not cause him any rust.

Hawks' Seabrook Back In Lineup For Game 6

News: Brent Seabrook returns to the ice Sunday for Game 6 against the Blues after a three-game suspension, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook will look to give Duncan Keith a little bit of a breather. Keith has one of the highest ice minutes in the early going of the NHL playoffs. While Seabrook was sitting, the Blackhawks won three in a row.

Blackhawks' Seabrook Suspended Three Games

News: Brent Seabrook was handed a three-game suspension Sunday for his illegal hit on the Blues' David Backes during Saturday's Game 2, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook was immediately ejected following the hit, and with Blues coach Ken Hitchcock sounding pessimistic about Backes' chances of being available for Game 3, the league office moved quickly to keep Seabrook off the ice as well. It's a big loss for the Blackhawks, as Seabrook had provided two points in each of the first two games of the series. They'll now be without his services until Game 6 while they try to overcome a 2-0 series deficit.

Hawks' Seabrook Hearing Set For Sunday

News: Brent Seabrook will have a hearing over the phone with the NHL for his hit on Blues' David Backes on Sunday that resulted in a game misconduct and knocking Backes out of the game, the NHL told the USA Today.
Analysis: The turnaround on the decision should be pretty quick since both teams play Monday night. Also since it is a phone hearing, the suspension should be less than five games. Brent Seabrook will probably face some form of discipline especially a suspension, but several factors will probably come into play especially how long Backes is out and also that Seabrook does not have a history of dirty hits. In addition, the league might also look at the fact Chicago has already suffered, since the five-minute major that Seabrook was also hit with resulted in the game being sent into overtime. Seabrook did provide a goal and an assist in the game prior to his ejection.

Blues' Seabrook Ejected For Hit On Backes

News: Brent Seabrook received a game misconduct penalty for a vicious hit on the Blues' David Backes during Saturday's Game 2, CSN's Tracy Myers reports.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook caught Backes with a forearm to the head, after the Blues' center had given up the puck. Backes' head smacked back against the boards, and he exited the game with what will likely be diagnosed as a concussion. There's no question that the hit was dirty, and injuring a star player certainly won't help Seabrook's chances of avoiding a suspension. The NHL would probably prefer not to suspend key players during the playoffs, but this hit was indefensible.

Seabrook Notches Two Points For 'Hawks In Game 1

News: Brent Seabrook picked up a goal and an assist in Thursday's playoff-opening loss to the Blues.
Analysis: In one game, Brent Seabrook's already reached half of his point total from last year's 23-game Stanley Cup run. However, last year saw his offensive production slip both in the regular season and the playoffs, while Seabrook brought his scoring rate back to its expected half-point-per-game level this season. Perhaps that means he's slated to make a bigger playoff impact -- good news for the Blackhawks, if so.

Chicago's Seabrook Ends Drought

News: Brent Seabrook snapped a six-game points drought with an assist in Friday's 3-2 win over Carolina.
Analysis: Even with the drought, Brent Seabrook is closing on another 40-point season. In terms of multi-category producers, few are better than Seabrook in terms of secondary statistics such as plus-minus, hits and blocked shots. Use him as you normally would.

Seabrook Notches Two Assists As 'Hawks Roll

News: Brent Seabrook picked up two helpers and went plus-3 in Thursday's 6-1 demolition of the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: A very positive game for Brent Seabrook, who had seen his normally steady point production dry up over the last six weeks; he'd totaled just two points in his last 13 games.

Hawks' Seabrook Producing

News: Brent Seabrook has recorded six goals and 28 assists in 60 games this season.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook may be disappointed by not making team Canada, but his fantasy owners should be happy. He's on pace for one of his best years as a pro offensively, even if he has been a little less reliable in his own end. Playing alongside Norris Trophy candidate Duncan Keith is certainly helping, and his plus-24 rating is good for 10th in the whole league.

Blackhawks' Seabrook To Play Friday

News: Brent Seabrook (illness) will play in Friday's game against the Ducks, CSN's Tracy Myers reports.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook missed Thursday's practice due to the illness, but he made it through Friday's skate without issue, and will take the ice Friday night against the Ducks.

Hawks' Seabrook Skips Practice With Illness

News: Brent Seabrook (illness) missed Thursday's practice, Brian Hedger of NHL.com reports.

Seabrook Factors Into Chicago Win

News: Brent Seabrook assisted on two of Chicago's five goals in Friday's win over New Jersey, giving him five points in the last five games.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook is having a quietly productive season with 31 points through 44 games and has more value in leagues that reward hits and blocked shots. What Seabrook does on the ice isn't flashy, he just gets the job done.

Hawks' Seabrook Scores In Win

News: Brent Seabrook scored in the second period against the Islanders on Thursday, giving him two goals in the last three games.
Analysis: With five goals so far this season, Brent Seabrook has a shot at hitting double digits in that category for the first time in his career; he's reached nine three times. Seabrook is on pace for a career-high assist total already, with 24 through 43 games.

Blackhawks' Seabrook Picks Up Two Helpers

News: Brent Seabrook picked up two assists in a win over New Jersey on Monday.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook's found the score sheet in eight of his last 12 games and is up to 26 points in 39 games this season. That puts him on a good pace to surpass his career high of 48 points, set in 2010-2011. Seabrook also leads the 'Hawks with a plus-19 rating.

Hawks' Seabrook Extends Scoring Streak To Four

News: Brent Seabrook scored a goal in Wednesday's win over the Flyers, marking the fourth straight game in which he's provided a point.
Analysis: With three goals and 19 assists on the season, Brent Seabrook has already surpassed his point total from the strike-shortened 2012-13 campaign, requiring 14 fewer games to do so. His 22 points are second to only Duncan Keith among Blackhawks defensemen.

Blackhawks' Seabrook Picks Up Two Assists

News: Brent Seabrook notched his second consecutive two-point game Tuesday in Dallas, assisting twice and going plus-3 in a 6-2 victory.
Analysis: Like most of the Blackhawks' front-line players, Brent Seabrook's been terrifically productive in the areas of points and plus-minus, making him a very reliable fantasy defenseman. He's currently on a 52-point pace, which if achieved would best his previous career high of 48, set in 2010-11.

Seabrook Assists Twice For 'Hawks

News: Brent Seabrook notched a pair of assists and went plus-4 in Thursday's win over the Jets.
Analysis: Though he's got just one goal in 23 games this year, Thursday night pushed Brent Seabrook's assist total to 13 -- one more than he recorded (in twice as many games) last season.

Hawks' Seabrook Thriving Thru 15 Games

News: Brent Seabrook has gathered a goal and six assists in 15 games this season.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook's scoring remains at roughly the same rate as the past handful of seasons, but a deep drop in his plus/minus total has sunk his fantasy value a bit. Though the Blackhawks have looked strong with a 9-2-4 record, their successes haven't often coincided with Seabrook's presence on the ice. His plus/minus, currently stands at zero, ahead of only Duncan Keith among the team's defensemen.

Blackhawks' Seabrook Tallies In Opener

News: Brent Seabrook scored a goal on three shots and also tallied three hits and three blocks in Tuesday's season-opening win over the Caps.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook's looking to get back to his 48-point form from the 2010-11 season after a couple of disappointing campaigns, and this was a good start. As one of Chicago's top defensemen, he'll certainly see plenty of opportunities on the ice alongside Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and the like.

Hawks' Seabrook Evens Stanley Cup Finals

News: Brent Seabrook picked a perfect time to end his seven-game goal drought in the playoffs as he scored the game-winner in overtime, 6-5, in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals on Wednesday.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook has three goals and an assist in the 2013 playoffs, but two have been game-winners. He also had the biggest goal in the Western Conference semifinals with an overtime goal in the Hawks' 2-1 victory over the Red Wings in Game 7 on May 29.

Seabrook's OT Winner Sends Hawks To Conference Finals

News: Brent Seabrook scored the game-winning goal in the Blackhawks' Game 7 overtime win against the Red Wings on Wednesday.
Analysis: The goal was only Brent Seabrook's second point of the playoffs, but none have meant more to the team than this one. Both his points have come in the last three games after being reunited with longtime defensive partner Duncan Keith, so there's a chance his offensive production could pick up in the next round.

Hawks' Seabrook's Minutes Up In Game 5, 6

News: Brent Seabrook saw his times almost double in Games 5 and 6 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Red Wings after Blackhawks' coach Joel Quenneville reunited him with Duncan Keith, ESPN Chicago reports.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook was almost completely bench early in the series as his minutes dropped to 12 in Game 4. But in Game 5 and 6 it appears being reunited with Keith has revived him that included getting an assist in Game 5. You should expect more of the same in Game 7 against the Red Wings.
