Hawks' Seabrook Contributes Two Assists In Win

News: Brent Seabrook registered a pair of assists in Sunday's win over Toronto.
Analysis: That's five points in three games for Brent Seabrook, who now has six goals and 14 assists in 34 games on the season. Averaging 22:09 of ice time with an offensively talented Blachawks' team, Seabrook could reach 50 points for the first time in his career this season.

Hawks' Seabrook Produces Three Points

News: Brent Seabrook opened the scoring for Chicago with his sixth goal and added two assists (one on the power play) in Tuesday's win over Minnesota. He went plus-3, contributing three hits and three blocks.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook hadn't found his way onto the scoresheet in any of the last four games coming in and had just a lonely assist over his prior eight contests, but he certainly located his offensive touch in a big way. He's contributing at about his typical level, with 18 points in 32 contests on the year, though his rates of hitting and shot blocking have both fallen noticeably.

Blackhawks' Seabrook Back In Wednesday

News: Brent Seabrook (illness) was present for Wednesday's morning skate, ESPN Chicago reports.
Analysis: It simply confirms that the blueliner will play later in the evening against the Blues, which was never in much question. Brent Seabrook has five goals and 14 points in 24 games this season.

Chicago's Seabrook Misses Practice

News: Brent Seabrook missed Tuesday's practice due to an illness, Scott King of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Coach Joel Quenneville said he expects Brent Seabrook to play Wednesday against the Blues, so there's seemingly nothing to worry about over what appears to be a minor cold or something of that nature. His availability for Wednesday's game will be confirmed when Seabrook participates in the team's morning skate.

Chicago's Seabrook To Play Despite Missed Practice

News: Brent Seabrook will play Wednesday against the Blues despite sitting out Tuesday's practice.
Analysis: It's not clear why Brent Seabrook was held out Tuesday, but it does not appear he is in danger of missing any game action. Seabrook did not tally a point in his last game, but he had a big month of November, racking up four goals and six assists in 14 games. Keep tabs on his status in case he is dealing with an unannounced injury.

Hawks' Seabrook Has Six-Game Point Streak Going

News: Brent Seabrook has a six-game point streak going into Friday's game against the Ducks.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook has two goals and four assists in the six games and has accumulated five goals and eight assists in 22 games this season. He has two goals and six assists in 35 games against the Ducks in his career. Seabrook could have his best season in his 10-year career if he continues on this stretch. His best season came in 2010-11 where he collected nine goals and 39 assists where he played in every game.

Points Trickling In For Hawks' Seabrook

News: Brent Seabrook potted his fifth goal of the season in Thursday's win over the Flames.
Analysis: In what was his 700th career NHL game, Brent Seabrook was able to make it a memorable one by extending his point streak to three games. Seabrook is still sitting at a minus-3 rating for the season, but that number should gradually rise as the Blackhawks show continued signs of breaking out of their season-long offensive slumber.

Seabrook Paces Hawks In Loss

News: Brent Seabrook factored in both Chicago goals in Saturday's loss to Toronto. He scored a goal and added an assist, both of which came on the power play.
Analysis: He's made an impression over the last four games, scoring two goals and adding a couple of assists. His six points in 11 games are actually the closest pace to his great 2010-11 campaign as he's had in a while. He isn't going to hit a new career mark, but he's going to deliver mid-level fantasy goodness to your squad.

Hawks' Seabrook Nabs First Goal

News: Brent Seabrook scored his first goal of the season in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Senators.
Analysis: He's never been much of a goal scorer, but it's always a positive to see him chip in on the power play. He, along with teammate Duncan Keith, is one of the better two-way defensemen, and the points should still be there in the 30-40 point range.

Hawks' Seabrook Looks To Continue Strong Play

News: Brent Seabrook finished the preseason with no goals and one assist in four games played.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook is often overshadowed by defensive mate and reigning Norris Trophy-winner Duncan Keith, but the 29-year-old blueliner had a commendable 2013-14 season, finishing with seven goals and 34 assists. With little reason to anticipate in a dramatic dropoff in production for Seabrook this season, he should once again combine with Keith to form one of the more dynamic two-way duos in hockey.

Seabrook Active In Chicago Win

News: Brent Seabrook grabbed two assists in Chicago's 4-3 win over Los Angeles in Friday's Game 6 of the Western Conference finals. He has three points in the last two games.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook has been seeing more power-play time and has two of his last three points on the man advantage. Seabrook remains one of the Hawks' best defensemen and will continue to see scoring chances.

Hawks' Seabrook Could Be Part Of Top PP Line

News: Brent Seabrook was practicing on the top power-play line on Sunday and could be sitting there in Game 4 on Monday night against the Kings, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook and Patrick Sharp switched spots with Sharp going to the second power-play line in practice. Blackhawks' coach Joel Quenneville is looking to shake things up on the power play that went 0-for-4 in Game 3 and have struggled on the road during the playoffs with a man advantage.

Chicago's Seabrook Grabs Two Helpers

News: Brent Seabrook assisted on two of Chicago's five goals in Friday's Game 1 win over Minnesota in their Central Division finals series, giving him four assists in the last two games.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook looked to have Chicago's first goal, but the shot was tipped in by Bryan Bickell. The minute-eating defender, who missed three games due to suspension in the first round, notched assists on the game's opening goal and the winning goal and will be a major factor in any success the Blackhawks have.

Blackhawks' Seabrook Tallies Two Assists

News: Brent Seabrook returned from a three-game suspension to pick up two helpers in a Game 6 win over the Blues on Sunday.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook, despite only playing in three playoff games so far, already has six points, and clearly missing three games did not cause him any rust.

Hawks' Seabrook Back In Lineup For Game 6

News: Brent Seabrook returns to the ice Sunday for Game 6 against the Blues after a three-game suspension, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook will look to give Duncan Keith a little bit of a breather. Keith has one of the highest ice minutes in the early going of the NHL playoffs. While Seabrook was sitting, the Blackhawks won three in a row.

Blackhawks' Seabrook Suspended Three Games

News: Brent Seabrook was handed a three-game suspension Sunday for his illegal hit on the Blues' David Backes during Saturday's Game 2, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook was immediately ejected following the hit, and with Blues coach Ken Hitchcock sounding pessimistic about Backes' chances of being available for Game 3, the league office moved quickly to keep Seabrook off the ice as well. It's a big loss for the Blackhawks, as Seabrook had provided two points in each of the first two games of the series. They'll now be without his services until Game 6 while they try to overcome a 2-0 series deficit.

Hawks' Seabrook Hearing Set For Sunday

News: Brent Seabrook will have a hearing over the phone with the NHL for his hit on Blues' David Backes on Sunday that resulted in a game misconduct and knocking Backes out of the game, the NHL told the USA Today.
Analysis: The turnaround on the decision should be pretty quick since both teams play Monday night. Also since it is a phone hearing, the suspension should be less than five games. Brent Seabrook will probably face some form of discipline especially a suspension, but several factors will probably come into play especially how long Backes is out and also that Seabrook does not have a history of dirty hits. In addition, the league might also look at the fact Chicago has already suffered, since the five-minute major that Seabrook was also hit with resulted in the game being sent into overtime. Seabrook did provide a goal and an assist in the game prior to his ejection.

Blues' Seabrook Ejected For Hit On Backes

News: Brent Seabrook received a game misconduct penalty for a vicious hit on the Blues' David Backes during Saturday's Game 2, CSN's Tracy Myers reports.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook caught Backes with a forearm to the head, after the Blues' center had given up the puck. Backes' head smacked back against the boards, and he exited the game with what will likely be diagnosed as a concussion. There's no question that the hit was dirty, and injuring a star player certainly won't help Seabrook's chances of avoiding a suspension. The NHL would probably prefer not to suspend key players during the playoffs, but this hit was indefensible.

Seabrook Notches Two Points For 'Hawks In Game 1

News: Brent Seabrook picked up a goal and an assist in Thursday's playoff-opening loss to the Blues.
Analysis: In one game, Brent Seabrook's already reached half of his point total from last year's 23-game Stanley Cup run. However, last year saw his offensive production slip both in the regular season and the playoffs, while Seabrook brought his scoring rate back to its expected half-point-per-game level this season. Perhaps that means he's slated to make a bigger playoff impact -- good news for the Blackhawks, if so.

Chicago's Seabrook Ends Drought

News: Brent Seabrook snapped a six-game points drought with an assist in Friday's 3-2 win over Carolina.
Analysis: Even with the drought, Brent Seabrook is closing on another 40-point season. In terms of multi-category producers, few are better than Seabrook in terms of secondary statistics such as plus-minus, hits and blocked shots. Use him as you normally would.

Seabrook Notches Two Assists As 'Hawks Roll

News: Brent Seabrook picked up two helpers and went plus-3 in Thursday's 6-1 demolition of the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: A very positive game for Brent Seabrook, who had seen his normally steady point production dry up over the last six weeks; he'd totaled just two points in his last 13 games.

Hawks' Seabrook Producing

News: Brent Seabrook has recorded six goals and 28 assists in 60 games this season.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook may be disappointed by not making team Canada, but his fantasy owners should be happy. He's on pace for one of his best years as a pro offensively, even if he has been a little less reliable in his own end. Playing alongside Norris Trophy candidate Duncan Keith is certainly helping, and his plus-24 rating is good for 10th in the whole league.

Seabrook Factors Into Chicago Win

News: Brent Seabrook assisted on two of Chicago's five goals in Friday's win over New Jersey, giving him five points in the last five games.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook is having a quietly productive season with 31 points through 44 games and has more value in leagues that reward hits and blocked shots. What Seabrook does on the ice isn't flashy, he just gets the job done.
