Wings' Zidlicky Earns Power-Play Assist In Loss

News: Marek Zidlicky set up a power-play goal in Sunday's loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: The move from New Jersey to the Motor City has given Marek Zidlicky's production new-found life. In 14 games with the Wings, he's collected a respectable three goals and six assists, with seven of his points coming on the man advantage. He had only 12 power-play points over 63 games with the Devils.

Wings' Zidlicky: Three More Points

News: Zidlikcy scored a power-play goal and added two assists in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Zidlikcy has been great since joining his new club, collecting seven points in his first seven games in Detroit. Five of those points have come on the man advantage, giving him 17 points on the power play this season.

Wings' Zidlicky: Three Points In Last Four

News: Marek Zidlicky collected a power-play assist in Saturday's loss to the Flyers.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky is off to a strong start with the Red Wings since coming over from the Devils at the trade deadline back on Mar. 2. In six games, he's tallied two goals (one of which was a game-winner) and two power-play helpers, providing the puck-moving ability the Red Wings were in desperate need of on their third defensive pairing.

Wings' Zidlicky (Leg) Playing Sunday

News: Marek Zidlicky (leg) will play Sunday against the Bruins, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky was dealing with a bit of a charlie horse following Friday's contest against the Flames, but was expected to play. That is indeed the case, as the blueliner continues to gel with his new teammates, and has already tallied a goal with his new club over just two games.

Red Wings' Zidlicky Suffering From Charley Horse

News: Marek Zidlicky was absent from Saturday's practice due to what coach Mike Babcock described as a "charley horse," MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky said that he still anticipates that Zidlicky will play Sunday against the Bruins, but his status may not be verified until the Red Wings complete their morning skate. The veteran blueliner, who was acquired by the Red Wings prior to Monday's trade deadline, has already made an immediate impact on the blue line, tallying the game-winning power-play goal in his first game with the team earlier this week.

Detroit Bolsters Defense With Zidlicky

News: The Red Wings have acquired Marek Zidlicky from the Devils in exchange for a conditional third-round pick in 2016, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: The Wings, seemingly in position to make a playoff run, were a bit inexperienced toward the bottom of their defense pairings, but the addition of the veteran Marek Zidlicky solves that and gives them a right-handed shot from the point. Given the price, this is a good stretch run signing for Detroit. We'll see if Zidlicky starts to pick up power play time in his new digs.

Devils' Zidlicky Records Assist

News: Marek Zidlicky picked up an assist in Tuesday's victory over the Senators.
Analysis: It's a good start to the month for Marek Zidlicky, who accrued no goals and two assists in 11 January contests. Even at age 38, Zidlicky still offers a tinge more of puck-moving ability than the typical NHL blueliner, but his appeal is probably limited to mid-sized or deeper leagues at this point. With 21 points in 51 games thus far, Zidlicky is projected to fall safely short of last season's totals of 12 goals and 30 assists.

Devils' Zidlicky Helps Out

News: Marek Zidlicky chipped in an assist in Tuesday's win over the Sabres.
Analysis: It's just the second point in the last 10 games for the aging blueliner. While last season's total of 12 goals is probably unattainable at this point, Marek Zidlicky could still challenge for his second consecutive 40-point season if he's able to pick up the pace in the second half. There's probably still a place for him in mid-sized fantasy leagues.

Devils' Zidlicky Adds Two Points To Ledger

News: Marek Zidlicky picked up a goal and an assist in Monday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Islanders.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky is up to four goals and 13 assists on the sason, with five of those points coming in the last seven games. At more than half a point per game, he makes for a serviceable option on the blue line in most formats.

Zidlicky Assists Twice For Devils

News: Marek Zidlicky tallied two assists in Thursday's win over the Leafs.
Analysis: Ziddles isn't finding much twine, but he has been picking up points in fits and starts, which is enough to give him solid fantasy value. He's totaled five assists in the last six games.

Devils' Zidlicky Dishes Out Two Assists

News: Marek Zidlicky contributed a pair of assists in Saturday's loss to the Flames.
Analysis: Although the points were Marek Zidlicky's first in five games, the 37-year-old has impressed lately, recording a plus-7 rating over his last five games. He has delivered a solid three goals and 11 points in 21 games this season, putting him on pace for another 40-point campaign. Use him well.

Devils' Zidlicky Gets Goal And Assists

News: Marek Zidlicky scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's win over the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: It's the second straight Saturday that he hit the scoresheet with little to nothing in between. We'd like to see more than six points in 11 games, but maybe we're being overly critical -- that's a 45-point pace.

Devils' Zidlicky Bounces Back

News: Marek Zidlicky had one goal, a point, and one block in Saturday's victory over the Senators.
Analysis: His plus-minus is not negative this time, but his offensive production this game gives him some upside for fantasy owners looking at him at this point.

Devils' Zidlicky Struggling to Contribute

News: Marek Zidlicky had four shots at the goal, but was unable to capitalize on any of his attempts.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky also had a costly turnover that turned into a goal for the Rangers. While one turnover does not take away from his fantasy value, it might be beneficial to monitor his turnovers to see if it becomes a habit moving forward.

Slump Continues For Devils' Zidlicky

News: Marek Zidlicky took three shots, had two giveaways and went minus-1 in Saturday's loss to the Sharks.
Analysis: This makes the third game in a row that Marek Zidlicky has gone minus-1. However, it's still early enough in the season for fantasy owners to give Ziddles the benefit of the doubt.

Devils' Zidlicky Has Two-Assist Opener

News: Marek Zidlicky dished out two helpers and went plus-2 in Thursday's win over the Flyers.
Analysis: Even at 37 years old, he's still got it. Ziddles led all Devils in ice time Thursday, and the duo of him and Bryce Salvador should continue to see plenty of ice going forward. It's hard to expect double-digit goals and 40-plus-points from him for a second straight year, but as long as he's healthy, Marek Zidlicky should deliver solid fantasy numbers.

Zidlicky Re-Signs With New Jersey

News: The Devils have re-signed Marek Zidlicky, the team's official site reports.

Zidlicky Returns To Form For Devils

News: Marek Zidlicky netted two goals in Sunday's 3-2 win over Boston.
Analysis: The veteran defenseman ends a solid campaign on a high note. With 12 goals and 30 assists from the blue line, its the Czechoslvakian's first 40-point season since 2009-10 (six goals, 37 assists) with the Minnesota Wild. Additionally, With the return to form, his value in both the NHL and fantasy formats will likely increase over the summer.

Points Piling Up For Devils' Zidlicky

News: Marek Zidlicky contributed two more assists in Saturday's win over the Hurricanes.
Analysis: With two goals and four assists over the last five games, Marek Zidlicky may be the team's hottest skater at this moment aside from center Adam Henrique. Unfortunately, with goalies Cory Schneider and Martin Brodeur playing poorly in their last few turns, Zidlicky's plus-minus has taken a hit. In spite of all his scoring, Zidlicky is minus-4 in his last five games.

Devils' Zidlicky Picks Up Pair Of Points

News: Marek Zidlicky came away with a goal and assist in Saturday's win over the Islanders.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky was one of six Devils skaters to record two points in the 6-1 thrashing. In suiting up for the Czech Republic in the Olympics, the 37-year-old might not have been able to rest up over the break like some of his teammates, but as Saturday's performance would indicate, he doesn't seem to be much worse for it.

News: Marek Zidlicky scored one of two Czech goals in a loss to Sweden in the Olympic opener Wednesday.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky's slap shot from the right circle with 8:12 left in the second period put the Czech Republic on the board, but Sweden had already roared to a 4-0 lead by that time. The defenseman saw 26:56 of ice time in the loss, over five minutes more than he's averaged with the Devils this season.

Zidlicky Scores Two In New Jersey Loss

News: Marek Zidlicky scored twice in Friday's 5-3 loss to Chicago, giving him four goals and six points in the last six games.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky is a notorious points binger and can disappear for several weeks at a time, only to remind owners what he can do with an effort like his one on Friday evening. He's still seeing regular power-play time and will offer some value in deeper leagues despite his penchant to disappear.
