Devils' Zidlicky Dishes Out Two Assists

News: Marek Zidlicky contributed a pair of assists in Saturday's loss to the Flames.
Analysis: Although the points were Marek Zidlicky's first in five games, the 37-year-old has impressed lately, recording a plus-7 rating over his last five games. He has delivered a solid three goals and 11 points in 21 games this season, putting him on pace for another 40-point campaign. Use him well.

Devils' Zidlicky Gets Goal And Assists

News: Marek Zidlicky scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's win over the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: It's the second straight Saturday that he hit the scoresheet with little to nothing in between. We'd like to see more than six points in 11 games, but maybe we're being overly critical -- that's a 45-point pace.

Devils' Zidlicky Bounces Back

News: Marek Zidlicky had one goal, a point, and one block in Saturday's victory over the Senators.
Analysis: His plus-minus is not negative this time, but his offensive production this game gives him some upside for fantasy owners looking at him at this point.

Devils' Zidlicky Struggling to Contribute

News: Marek Zidlicky had four shots at the goal, but was unable to capitalize on any of his attempts.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky also had a costly turnover that turned into a goal for the Rangers. While one turnover does not take away from his fantasy value, it might be beneficial to monitor his turnovers to see if it becomes a habit moving forward.

Slump Continues For Devils' Zidlicky

News: Marek Zidlicky took three shots, had two giveaways and went minus-1 in Saturday's loss to the Sharks.
Analysis: This makes the third game in a row that Marek Zidlicky has gone minus-1. However, it's still early enough in the season for fantasy owners to give Ziddles the benefit of the doubt.

Devils' Zidlicky Has Two-Assist Opener

News: Marek Zidlicky dished out two helpers and went plus-2 in Thursday's win over the Flyers.
Analysis: Even at 37 years old, he's still got it. Ziddles led all Devils in ice time Thursday, and the duo of him and Bryce Salvador should continue to see plenty of ice going forward. It's hard to expect double-digit goals and 40-plus-points from him for a second straight year, but as long as he's healthy, Marek Zidlicky should deliver solid fantasy numbers.

Analysis: The veteran defenseman ends a solid campaign on a high note. With 12 goals and 30 assists from the blue line, its the Czechoslvakian's first 40-point season since 2009-10 (six goals, 37 assists) with the Minnesota Wild. Additionally, With the return to form, his value in both the NHL and fantasy formats will likely increase over the summer.

Points Piling Up For Devils' Zidlicky

News: Marek Zidlicky contributed two more assists in Saturday's win over the Hurricanes.
Analysis: With two goals and four assists over the last five games, Marek Zidlicky may be the team's hottest skater at this moment aside from center Adam Henrique. Unfortunately, with goalies Cory Schneider and Martin Brodeur playing poorly in their last few turns, Zidlicky's plus-minus has taken a hit. In spite of all his scoring, Zidlicky is minus-4 in his last five games.

Devils' Zidlicky Picks Up Pair Of Points

News: Marek Zidlicky came away with a goal and assist in Saturday's win over the Islanders.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky was one of six Devils skaters to record two points in the 6-1 thrashing. In suiting up for the Czech Republic in the Olympics, the 37-year-old might not have been able to rest up over the break like some of his teammates, but as Saturday's performance would indicate, he doesn't seem to be much worse for it.

News: Marek Zidlicky scored two points on a goal and an assist in Friday's win over Latvia in the Olympics.

Devils' Zidlicky Finds Twine For Czech Republic

News: Marek Zidlicky scored one of two Czech goals in a loss to Sweden in the Olympic opener Wednesday.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky's slap shot from the right circle with 8:12 left in the second period put the Czech Republic on the board, but Sweden had already roared to a 4-0 lead by that time. The defenseman saw 26:56 of ice time in the loss, over five minutes more than he's averaged with the Devils this season.

Zidlicky Assists Twice As Devils Romp

News: Marek Zidlicky handed out two assists in Tuesday's 7-1 thrashing of the Blues.
Analysis: With the two points, he snapped a three-game scoreless slump and has now tallied an impressive eight points in 10 January games. Even at age 36 -- coming up on 37 -- he's been a valuable fantasy asset.

Devils' Zidlicky Nets Winner In OT

News: Marek Zidlicky scored with 2.1 seconds left on the overtime clock to lead the Devils to a 2-1 win over the Panthers on Saturday night.
Analysis: Yikes -- it's his ninth point, including five goals, in his last 10 games. This streak is surely coming to an end soon, so see if you can leverage this run into one of those proverbial sell-high trades.

Zidlicky Scores Two In New Jersey Loss

News: Marek Zidlicky scored twice in Friday's 5-3 loss to Chicago, giving him four goals and six points in the last six games.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky is a notorious points binger and can disappear for several weeks at a time, only to remind owners what he can do with an effort like his one on Friday evening. He's still seeing regular power-play time and will offer some value in deeper leagues despite his penchant to disappear.

Devils' Zidlicky Scores Twice

News: Marek Zidlicky scored twice, including once on the power play, in Saturday's win over Washington. The goals were his first in 15 games.
Analysis: He only has five points in those 15 games after getting 12 in his first 21. Maybe this will give you a chance to trade him.

Devils' Zidlicky Could Play Tuesday

News: Marek Zidlicky (upper body) could return for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jackets, The Record reports.

Devils' Zidlicky Deailng With Upper-Body Injury

News: Marek Zidlicky will miss Saturday's game with an upper-body injury, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Since reeling off nine points in his first 11 games, Marek Zidlicky has been noticeably quiet, and the injury will keep things that way for at least another game. Peter Harrold enters the lineup in place of the ailing Zidlicky.

Devils' Zidlicky Struggling Of Late

News: While Marek Zidlicky has 13 points in 26 games on the season, he has one point in the last five contests.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky's 13 points put him third on the Devils behind fellow Czechs Jaromir Jagr and Patrik Elias, but he's one of the league's most notoriously streaky players. Zidlicky has four points over the last 15 contests. While his numbers on the season have him finishing around 40 points, the reality is that he's too inconsistent and a liability defensively. Use him if needed, as he's guaranteed to see power play time; just be aware.

Devils' Zidlicky Gets Two More Helpers

News: Marek Zidlicky now has seven points in eight games after picking up two helpers in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: He may be consistent in his inconsistency, but right now, he's the Devils' best offensive option on the back end. And he's reaping dividends for his fantasy owners right now. You may want to pull the trigger on a deal to move him, though -- he's not likely to score more than 40 or 45 points, so that means there are just 33-38 left over the next 74 games.

Zidlicky Leading Devils In Assists

News: Through seven games, Marek Zidlicky leads all New Jersey players in assists with five and is tied for the team's lead in points with Damien Brunner.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky has one assist in the last three games and five overall, one on the power play. the Devils don't have a better option on the blue line in terms of a puck-mover than Zidlicky, so he'll continue to see ice time despite the glaring errors and turnovers. He's worth a look in deeper leagues due to his power-play ice time, but he's not the most consistent of players.

Devils Re-Sign Zidlicky

News: Marek Zidlicky signed with the Devils on Wednesday.
Analysis: Although the 36-year-old seems to be in decline, he was still New Jersey's top-scoring defender last year with 19 points in 48 games. He should be on the fantasy radar in most cases, even if he's not as strong of an option as he once was.

Devils' Zidlicky Grabs Two Assists

News: Marek Zidlicky snapped a five-game scoring slump Tuesday with a pair of assists in a win over Montreal.
Analysis: He hadn't had a multi-point effort since scoring two goals against Toronto back on March 4. It's been an inconsistent fantasy season for Marek Zidlicky, who's collected a useful 38 PIMs to go with his 19 points this year, though his minus-10 rating won't garner much appreciation.

Zidlicky On Scoreboard Again For Devils

News: Marek Zidlicky assisted on the Devils' only goal in Friday's shootout loss to Philadelphia, giving him three points in the last four games.
Analysis: Marek Zidlicky's about as streaky as they come, but he's been contributing a handful of assists lately following a two-goal effort 11 days ago. He's not going to set the league on fire and he's prone to the monstrous defensive lapse, but he's not a bad option in deeper leagues.
