Habs' Prust To Rejoin Lineup For Game 6

News: Coach Michel Therrien said Brandon Prust (suspension) would rejoin the lineup for Thursday's Game 6, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Brandon Prust was suspended the previous two games for a hit on the Rangers' Derek Stepan that ended up breaking the forward's jaw. Stepan returned to action in Game 5 with two goals, and it now looks like Therrien will bring Prust back in the fold to provide some added toughness for the Habs.

Canadiens' Prust Suspended Two Games

News: Brandon Prust received a two-game suspension on Friday for his hit on Derek Stepan in Game 3 on Thursday.
Analysis: Brandon Prust didn't receive a penalty for the hit, but did receive a suspension on the play. He also knocked Stepan out for an undisclosed amount of time, and Stepan is probably a player who is a bigger loss to his team than Prust is to his. Prust will be able to rejoin the team should the series reach Game 6.

Habs' Prust May Face League Punishment For Hit

News: Brandon Prust may face discipline from the NHL for his hit on Derek Stepan during Thursday's Game 3 win over the Rangers, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
Analysis: Brandon Prust somehow avoided a penalty on what was quite clearly a late hit. At the very least, the Department of Player Safety figures to take a long look at the play.

Montreal's Prust Returns For Game 1

News: Brandon Prust (upper body) played 20:24 in Wednesday night's win over Tampa Bay in Game 1 of their opening-round playoff series. He had not played since March 18.
Analysis: Brandon Prust looked a little rusty, but he'll get better as the series moves along. He skated on a line with Tomas Plekanec and Brendan Gallagher.

Habs' Prust A Game-Time Decision For Wednesday

News: Brandon Prust (upper body) will be a game-time decision for Game 1 of the Habs' playoff series with the Lightning beginning Wednesday, Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Brandon Prust was able to take part in Tuesday's practice and skated on a regular line, but it's unclear if he's fully recovered from injury quite yet after missing the final 12 games of the regular season. The team could make a decision on Prust's status for Game 1 at the conclusion of Wednesday's morning skate.

Analysis: The gritty winger hasn't played since March 18, but did rack up six goals, seven assists, and 121 PIM in 52 games before getting hurt. The team did state that he may not be ready for Game 1 on Wednesday, but it sounds like Brandon Prust will be back at some point during the first round.

News: The Canadiens are hopeful that Brandon Prust (upper body) will be ready to play when the postseason begins next week, John Lu of TSN Montreal reports.
Analysis: Brandon Prust has not played since Mar. 18, but he skated the last couple days and did not report any setbacks, so there is a chance he will be ready to go for the Canadiens' first-round series.

Habs' Prust (Upper Body) Out For Season

News: Brandon Prust (upper body) will miss the remainder of the 2013-14 season, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Brandon Prust was able to briefly return to action after suffering the upper body injury on Tuesday, but it appears to be more severe than originally anticipated. Prust had racked up just 13 points over 52 games this season before suffering the injury.

Habs Rule Prust Out Thursday

News: Brandon Prust is nursing an upper-body injury and will not be available Thursday against the Blue Jackets, John Lu of TSN Montreal reports.
Analysis: Brandon Prust suffered what appeared to be a rib injury Tuesday against the Avalanche, but managed to play on after briefly retreating to the locker room. Although he stayed in and provided a goal and assist for the Habs, it seems he's not quite at optimal health. Coach Michel Therrien will have Prust sit a game to aid his recovery.

Habs' Prust Guts It Out

News: Brandon Prust suffered an upper-body injury in the first period of Tuesday night's win over the Avalanche, but returned to play in the second, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Brandon Prust crashed into the boards and immediately headed to the clinic. Upon his return, he scored a goal and set up another. An upper-body injury, a goal and an assist, that's a new spin on the Gordie Howe hat trick.

Habs' Prust Nets Two Points In Win

News: Brandon Prust scored a goal and assisted on another in Tuesday night's 6-3 win over the Avalanche. He also had two hits and three shots on goal in the win.
Analysis: It was a big night for the fourth line, which was responsible for three goals and went a cumulative plus-8 in a win that spoiled the return of Montreal legend and current Colorado coach Patrick Roy.

Habs' Prust Back Wednesday

News: Brandon Prust (upper body) will return to the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Bruins, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Brandon Prust will be a welcome sight to the Canadiens, as he provides some needed agitation at forward, but he doesn't provide them with a scoring touch that's desperately needed.

Habs Move Prust To IR

News: Brandon Prust (upper body) has been moved to injured reserve.
Analysis: With the forward already ruled out for Wednesday's contest, the Canadiens decided to go ahead and move him to injured reserve to clear up a roster spot for returnees Alex Galchenyuk and Travis Moen. Brandon Prust's injury isn't believed to be a long-term concern, but fantasy owners counting on him for penalty minutes (105 in 48 games) or hits (85) might need to look elsewhere for a few games.

Canadiens' Prust Has Goal, Assist

News: Brandon Prust earned the first star with a goal and an assist in 13:09 of ice time Saturday night in a 3-2 win over Buffalo. The points were his first in nine games.
Analysis: Hands up for all who thought the one category Brandon Prust would need to complete the Gordie Howe hat-trick is a fight. He and his fourth-line mates provided a jolt in an otherwise snooze-fest of a game.
