Sens' Ryan Heating Up

News: Bobby Ryan bagged his seventh goal of the season in Monday's loss to the Sabres.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan has largely been a disappointment since being acquired from the Ducks last offseason, but seems to have settled in nicely since returning from a broken finger on Dec. 4. In his five games since, he's tallied two goals and four assists, demonstrating excellent rapport with Mika Zibanejad and Mike Hoffman on the second line. Continue to ride him while he's hot.

Sens' Ryan Collects Trio Of Assists

News: Bobby Ryan collected a trio of assists, had five shots on goals, and was a plus-3 in Sunday's overtime win over Vancouver.
Analysis: A dominant outing from Bobby Ryan, who now has 17 points (five goals) in 24 games. While he's on pace for only 16 goals, it's very possible Ryan reaches 60 points for the first time in his career this season. Now that the Senators have their first win in six games, look for Ryan to ride the momentum and pick up the offense.

Sens' Ryan Assists Twice

News: Bobby Ryan assisted on both of the Ottawa goals in Saturday's 3-2 defeat to the Penguins.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan doesn't seem to be facing any obvious limitations since suffering a broken finger injury that sidelined him for two games. In addition to the two helpers, Ryan has attempted seven shots in two games since returning.

Sens' Ryan Will Play Thursday

News: Bobby Ryan (broken finger) will play Thursday against the Islanders, Brent Wallace of TSN reports.
Analysis: A true game-time decision heading into warmups Thursday, Bobby Ryan experienced enough healing with his finger to return to the lineup following a two-game absence. It's not immediately clear what kind of limitations he might face, so it could be in the best interest of fantasy owners to keep him on the bench Thursday if other alternatives exist.

Sens' Ryan A Game-Time Decision Thursday

News: Bobby Ryan (finger) will be a game-time decision Thursday against the Islanders, Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan skated as an extra at the Sens' morning skate, which would seemingly indicate it's most likely that he sits out Thursday. However, it sounds like the team plans to have Ryan partake in pregame warmups, and if he thinks he can play through the broken finger, the Senators could include the winger in their lineup.

Sens' Ryan Practicing, But Still In Pain

News: Bobby Ryan (broken finger) was practicing Wednesday, but appeared to be favoring the digit, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan remains optimistic about his chances of playing at some point this week, but if the finger continues to prove limiting in practice, the Senators may have no choice but to give him some rest. The winger missed his second consecutive game Tuesday and the odds seem to be against him playing Thursday against the Islanders.

Senators' Ryan Will Sit Out Saturday

News: Bobby Ryan (finger) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Lightning.
Analysis: The Senators have yet to provide a full update on Bobby Ryan's status, but he will sit out Saturday due to the broken finger he suffered Friday night.

Senators' Ryan Suffers Broken Finger

News: Bobby Ryan suffered a broken finger in Friday's loss to the Panthers, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan suffered the injury while being slashed in Friday's game. It remains to be seen how long he will be sidelined, but he almost certainly will not play Saturday.

Sens' Ryan Heating Up

News: Bobby Ryan grabbed an assist in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the visiting Blues. He now has points in four straight games.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan has provided some much needed consistency for the Sens -- and fantasy owners -- of late, notching six points over the last seven games. Also, he's only posted one multi-point outing so far through the quarter pole of the season and his shooting percentage (10.9 percent) sits nearly three points below his career mark of 13.7, so there's room for growth for the former 35-goal scorer.

Sens' Ryan (Upper Body) Will Play Sunday

News: Bobby Ryan (upper body) will play Sunday against the Maple Leafs, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan left Thursday's game against the Wild after taking a slash to the body, and was held out of Saturday's contest as a result. He was a game-time scratch Saturday, and it appears the extra day of rest was enough for him to be ready for Sunday's game, where he will face the Maple Leafs.

Sens' Ryan Out For Saturday

News: Bobby Ryan (upper body) will not play Saturday against the Jets, Chris Stevenson of TSN reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan did not come out for warmups Saturday night and will not be in the lineup against the Jets. The winger has three goals and four assists through 12 games so far this season, and he will try to get back for Sunday's game against the rival Maple Leafs.

Sens' Ryan A Game-Time Decision

News: Bobby Ryan (upper body) will be a game-time decision Saturday against the Jets, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan, who missed some time in Thursday's game after he was slashed by a Wild opponent, was on the ice for morning skate, but was participating with the Sens' extras. It wouldn't seem to be a promising sign that he'll be available Saturday night, but Ryan plans to take part in pregame warmups before the Senators make a determination on his status. Colin Greening or Erik Condra would replace Ryan in the lineup if he's ruled out of action Saturday.

Sens' Ryan Leaves Early, But Should Be Fine

News: Bobby Ryan left Thursday's game against the Wild after taking a slash to his body, but is fully expected to play Saturday against the Flames, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: Despite exiting early, Bobby Ryan still saw close to his usual amount of ice time and picked up an assist in the 3-0 victory. Ryan has a respectable three goals and seven points in 12 games on the season for the Sens.

Sens' Ryan Gets Two Points In Defeat

News: Bobby Ryan supplied a goal and assist in Saturday's overtime loss to the Devils.
Analysis: The points were Bobby Ryan's third and fourth of the season and both came on the power play, marking his first tallies with the man-advantage. Ryan has settled in on the second line after opening the campaign alongside Kyle Turris and Clarke MacArthur on the top trio, which may have dimmed his outlook a bit from what was projected in the preseason.

Wednesday's Game Postponed For Ryan, Sens

News: Bobby Ryan and the Senators will not play Wednesday after their scheduled game against the Maple Leafs was postponed in light of the ongoing crisis in Ottawa, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: Multiple gunmen reportedly fired shots Wednesday morning in the downtown area of the Canadian capital, with one shooter dead and possibly one or more still at large. With several government buildings on lockdown, safety will understandably take greater precedence than proceeding with the game as scheduled. The NHL has yet to announce a make-up date for the postponed contest.

Sens' Ryan Finds Net For First Goal Of Season

News: Bobby Ryan tallied his first goal of the season in Thursday's victory over the Avalanche.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan nearly bagged two goals on the night, but a top-notch save by Avs goalie Calvin Pickard prevented him from scoring in the first period. He would get retribution in the third period, opening the floodgates for the Senators in the 5-3 win.

Sens' Ryan Seeing Time On Left Wing

News: Bobby Ryan has been practicing at left wing recently on a line with Mika Zibanejad and Alex Chiasson, the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: Apparently, Senators coach Paul MacLean likes Mark Stone at right wing with top-liners Clarke MacArthur and Kyle Turris, which would push Bobby Ryan -- a newly minted $50 million man -- to the second line. It's worth keeping an eye on moving forward; if Ryan, Zibanejad and Chiasson can provide respectable second-line production, it'll be a huge lift to the team in general. It could also provide Ryan dual-wing eligibility for fantasy purposes.

Senators, Ryan Agree To Seven-Year Extension

News: Bobby Ryan agreed to a seven-year, $50.25 million extension with the Senators on Thursday, CBC News Ottawa reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan's deal will keep him in Ottawa through the 2021-22 season and makes him the team's highest-paid player. He is slated to be the right wing on the Senators' top line, alongside Kyle Turris and Clarke MacArthur.

Sens' Ryan Set For Return To Action

News: Bobby Ryan (head) took part in morning skate and is set to participate in Wednesday's exhibition against the Maple Leafs, TSN's Steve Lloyd reports.
Analysis: The Senators held Bobby Ryan out of the preseason opener Monday mainly for precautionary purposes, and after no concussion-like symptoms surfaced over the last couple of days, the winger doesn't look like he'll be limited moving forward. Ryan is set to join Kyle Turris and Clarke MacArthur on the top line this season, forming one of the league's more dynamic under-30 trios.

Sens' Ryan Sidelined After Collision

News: Bobby Ryan will sit out Monday's pre-season games for precautionary reasons, the Ottawa Sun reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan collided with linemate Kyle Turris during the second period of a team scrimmage Sunday, and did not return to the ice. He was able to skate Monday morning, but will sit out the Sens pre-season games as a precaution. Team doctors want to make sure he doesn't experience any delayed concussion symptoms, so they're just playing it safe with the star winger for now. Ryan isn't expected to miss any significant time at this point.

Sens' Ryan Participating In Informal Skates

News: Bobby Ryan (sports hernia) has been participating in informal skates with the Senators in the week leading up to training camp, Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan appears to have recovered just fine from the sports hernia surgery he underwent Mar. 27, and should be a full participant in training camp. What's more concerning for Ryan is his long-term future in Ottawa, as he enters the 2014-15 campaign on the final year of a five-year, $25.5 million contract. Ryan and his agents have no plans as of yet to negotiate with the Senators before the regular season begins Oct. 9, so it looks like the winger may have some added incentive to turn in a strong performance. He was mostly a disappointment in his first season in Ottawa, delivering 23 goals and 25 assists over 70 games.

Ducks' Ryan Recovering Well

News: Bobby Ryan is already able to work out, as his recovery from sports hernia surgery is going well, Ian Mendes of TSN 1200 Radio reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan's season ended in March, with his scoring totals at 23 goals and 25 assists in 70 games. He should be back to full health well before the beginning of training camp.

Sens' Ryan To Undergo Season-Ending Surgery

News: Bobby Ryan will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a sports hernia Thursday.
Analysis: With Bobby Ryan's injury now properly diagnosed, the winger will conclude his season in Ottawa with a (temporarily) team-leading 23 goals. Though Ryan remained a dependable scorer for the Senators through most of the season, the team undoubtedly expected more than the 48 points in 70 games he ended up delivering. Playing through the injury for the last few weeks perhaps hindered his production to a degree, but with a full offseason to recover, Ryan should be back in the fold for training camp. He'll turn his focus to bettering his scoring totals for a Senators squad that largely underachieved this season.

Sens' Ryan To Miss Next Two Games

News: Bobby Ryan (hip) won't play in either of the Senators' games Monday or Tuesday, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan was on the ice for some light work at Monday's morning skate, but he's at least a couple of days away from returning to game action. He'll probably need to practice at some point this week before coach Paul MacLean would consider using him in the lineup.

Sens' Ryan (Hip) Not Practicing Sunday

News: Bobby Ryan did not take the ice with his team for practice on Sunday, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan left Saturday's game against the Stars after crashing into the boards and didn't return. He is no sure bet for Monday's game against the Lightning and his status should be monitored going forward.
