Ducks' Ryan Recovering Well

News: Bobby Ryan is already able to work out, as his recovery from sports hernia surgery is going well, Ian Mendes of TSN 1200 Radio reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan's season ended in March, with his scoring totals at 23 goals and 25 assists in 70 games. He should be back to full health well before the beginning of training camp.

Sens' Ryan To Undergo Season-Ending Surgery

News: Bobby Ryan will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a sports hernia Thursday.
Analysis: With Bobby Ryan's injury now properly diagnosed, the winger will conclude his season in Ottawa with a (temporarily) team-leading 23 goals. Though Ryan remained a dependable scorer for the Senators through most of the season, the team undoubtedly expected more than the 48 points in 70 games he ended up delivering. Playing through the injury for the last few weeks perhaps hindered his production to a degree, but with a full offseason to recover, Ryan should be back in the fold for training camp. He'll turn his focus to bettering his scoring totals for a Senators squad that largely underachieved this season.

Sens' Ryan To Miss Next Two Games

News: Bobby Ryan (hip) won't play in either of the Senators' games Monday or Tuesday, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan was on the ice for some light work at Monday's morning skate, but he's at least a couple of days away from returning to game action. He'll probably need to practice at some point this week before coach Paul MacLean would consider using him in the lineup.

Sens' Ryan (Hip) Not Practicing Sunday

News: Bobby Ryan did not take the ice with his team for practice on Sunday, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan left Saturday's game against the Stars after crashing into the boards and didn't return. He is no sure bet for Monday's game against the Lightning and his status should be monitored going forward.

Sens' Ryan Leaves After Crashing Into Boards

News: Bobby Ryan was removed from Saturday's game against the Stars after crashing into the boards, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan appeared to be favoring his left side after an attempted check on the Stars' Cody Eakin that sent him speeding into the boards without control. The team plans to provide an update on his status Sunday, but the possibility of the forward missing further games can't be ruled out.

Ryan Lone Man In For Sens

News: Bobby Ryan was the only Senator to score Thursday in a 6-1 blowout loss to Detroit.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan, Erik Karlsson and the recently promoted Mike Hoffman were pretty much the Sens' only bright spots in this disaster, as the three of them accounted for 19 of Ottawa's 26 shots on the night. Ryan's now scored in consecutive games, with the Olympics -- for which he was snubbed by Team USA -- in between.

Sens' Ryan Collects Two Points In Win

News: Bobby Ryan scored a goal and added an assist in Thursday's win over Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Though Bobby Ryan's in the midst of a very solid season overall, with 20 goals now to go with 42 points, this was his first multi-point effort since way back on Dec. 16. In the 18-game interim, he scored just three goals and dished out just five assists.

Sens' Ryan Sounds Off On USA Hockey Snub

News: Bobby Ryan sounded off Thursday morning about being left off the U.S. Olympic men's hockey team for the upcoming Games in Sochi, calling out director of player personnel Brian Burke and USA Hockey for they way they publicized the information, reports TSN.ca. "It was kinda gutless," said Ryan. "They could have just cut me."
Analysis: The team was announced after Wednesday's Winter Classic on the same day a major feature on the selection process was posted by ESPN.com. And Bobby Ryan has a point. Among the quotes included in that article? Brian Burke: "He's (Ryan) a passive guy. He is not intense. That word is not in his vocabulary. It's never going to be in his vocabulary. He can't spell intense." Ryan was also described as a "sleepy" skater. Expect Ryan to come out hard and fast over the next month or so, just to prove them wrong. And it'll be you who reaps the benefit of his anger.

News: Bobby Ryan scored a goal, dished out an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's win over the Sabres.
Analysis: With this effort, Bobby Ryan's reached 30 points on the year -- the same number he managed last year, but in 13 fewer games. He's well on pace for a career season, so keep rolling Ryan out there as long as he's feeling good.

Sens' Ryan On Line With Turris, Conacher

News: Bobby Ryan will skate alongside Kyle Turris and Cory Conacher on the second line Thursday against the Sabres.
Analysis: Paul MacLean is switching up the lines again as he searches for a way to spark the offense, so Conacher will move back up and flank Bobby Ryan and Turris. Ryan has 14 goals and 14 assists through 32 games this season, and the tandem of him and Turris has been the team's most effective so far.

Sens' Ryan Scores Twice In Win

News: Bobby Ryan netted two goals against the Capitals on Wednesday.
Analysis: The winger has adjusted well to his new home in Ottawa, and currently ranks 13th in the NHL with 24 points through 25 games. His line has been the most productive so far for the Sens, so expect his high production to continue as long as he's playing with Kyle Turris and Clarke MacArthur.

Sens' Ryan Questionable For Sunday

News: Bobby Ryan (neck/back) is questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Blue Jackets, James Gordon of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: It looks like Bobby Ryan was able to avoid a concussion after he was knocked in the face by the Bruins' Dennis Seidenberg on Friday, but it appears he's still experiencing at least some level of pain. Even so, Ryan was able to get some work in during Saturday's skate and it doesn't appear as though he'll be sidelined for long even if he's forced out Sunday.

Sens' Ryan Back On The Ice Saturday

News: Bobby Ryan (head) was back on the ice for the Senators' morning skate Saturday, TSN's Brent Wallace reports.
Analysis: Bobby Ryan left Friday's game after taking an elbow to the head from Boston's Dennis Seidenberg. He headed to the locker room and never returned to the game. The fact that he was back on the ice Saturday indicates that there is no concussion and he should be fine for Ottawa's next game.

News: Bobby Ryan scored his fourth goal and added an assist in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Analysis: He's potted a goal in four of his last five games, making Ottawa fans feel good early about the offseason trade that brought Bobby Ryan to town. The 26-year-old has elite sniping skill and should return to his pre-lockout, 30-goal ways this season.

News: Bobby Ryan had a goal and an assist Wednesday night.
Analysis: The winger's two-point effort wasn't enough to propel the Sens to victory, as they fell 4-3 in overtime. News: Bobby Ryan (shoulder) practiced with the team Tuesday, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Analysis: The Sens' new goal scorer appears fully healthy and ready to go after suffering a shoulder injury in a preseason game last week. Bobby Ryan appears set to have a productive season on Ottawa's top line, and will be looking to improve on last year's disappointing 11 goals and 19 assists over 46 games with the Ducks.

However, he was able to use his arms during drills Thursday, so it would seem that the shoulder setback will not threaten his availability for next week's season opener.
