Hawks' Bickell Healthy Scratch Wednesday

News: Bryan Bickell was a healthy scratch Wednesday night against the Flyers, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Bryan Bickell was previously a healthy scratch March 8 against the Rangers. He probably will be skating Friday against Columbus, but even prior to the healthy scratch, the winger's minutes have been steadily on the decline. He saw just 9:17 of ice time in his previous outing against the Hurricanes on Monday.

Hawks' Bickell Expected To Be Back In Lineup

News: Bryan Bickell is expected to be in the lineup on Thursday after being a healthy scratch the last game for the Blackhawks on Sunday, Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Blackhawks' coach Joel Quenneville is hoping that the benching will give Bryan Bickell a little wake-up call. He does have 11 goals and 13 assists in 65 games, but it's a far cry from his 2010-11 season, when he compiled 17 goals and 20 assists in 78 games. Bickell will return to the third line with Brad Richards and Patrick Sharp.

Hawks' Bickell Healthy Scratch Sunday

News: Bryan Bickell will be a healthy scratch on Sunday against the Rangers, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
Analysis: This is Bryan Bickell's first healthy scratch this season. Bickell has had some ups and downs during the regular season for the last few years, and seems to be in a declining phase at the moment. He does have 11 goals and 13 assists in 65 games, but it's a far cry from his 2010-11 season, when he compiled 17 goals and 20 assists in 78 games. The team can excuse a bland regular season if Bickell can eventually find his form during the Stanley Cup playoffs, which is where he's truly shined the last few seasons.

Blackhawks' Bickell A Likely Scratch Sunday

News: Bryan Bickell is projected to serve as a healthy scratch for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
Analysis: Coach Joel Quenneville wouldn't confirm that Bryan Bickell would sit out Sunday's game, but indicated after Saturday that the winger hasn't been playing well of late. After logging just 10:36 of ice time Friday against the Oilers despite the game going to a shootout, Bickell found himself off of a regular line during Saturday's practice, with Daniel Carcillo replacing him. Bickell's expected absence from the lineup shouldn't be permanent; it would likely just be a measure by Quenneville to light a fire under the veteran.

Blackhawks' Bickell Scores In Loss

News: Bryan Bickell bagged a goal in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Bruins.
Analysis: It was a pretty game for the rest of the squad, but Bryan Bickell was able to snap a six game streak without a point in the blowout nonetheless. His offensive production has gone almost completely dry lately, but the point gives him his 11th goal and 24th point of the year, matching the second highest total of his career in both categories.

Blackhawks' Bickell Grabs Two Points

News: Bryan Bickell tallied a goal and an assist in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Blues.
Analysis: Bryan Bickell had gone cold after racking up 10 points in a 10 game span, following that up with six straight contests off the scoresheet before snapping out of it with a multi-point effort on Sunday. The 28-year-old has never been much of a scorer, but if he can manage 14 points in the team's final 29 games, the winger will match his career high of 37.

Hawks' Bickell Back In The Lineup

News: Updating a previous report, Bryan Bickell will play Saturday against the Sharks, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Bryan Bickell was previously reported to be a scratch, but it now sounds like he'll suit up for the evening tilt. Dennis Rasmussen will instead be the scratch.

Blackhawks' Bickell A Late Scratch

News: Bryan Bickell (undisclosed) will be a scratch for Saturday's matchup with the Sharks, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Bryan Bickell has enjoyed a productive month of January (eight points) on the third line for the Blackhawks, but he'll sit out the evening tilt in San Jose. Dennis Rasmussen will move into the lineup to take his place.

Bickell Contributes Two Helpers For 'Hawks

News: Bryan Bickell handed out two assists and went plus-3 in Tuesday's 6-1 dumping of the Coyotes.
Analysis: He continues to clip along at a good pace, with 10 points and a plus-5 rating over his last 10 games. Bryan Bickell had only 11 points in the first 36 games of the season, so this is quite the wakeup; however, he's not likely to continue scoring at such a high rate, especially considering that he rarely sees more than 14 or so minutes of ice time.

Hawks' Bickell Grabs Two Points

News: Bryan Bickell tallied a goal and an assist in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Wild.
Analysis: Bryan Bickell's recent promotion to the team's second line with Brad Richards and Patrick Kane has paid off as he's turned in two multi-point efforts in his last three contests. The 28-year-old has 18 points (nine goals) through 43 games, so topping his career-high of 37 could be a challenge, but he should continue to see the scoresheet more often as he gels with his new linemates.

Promotion Pays Off For Hawks' Bickell

News: Bryan Bickell scored two third-period goals -- one into an empty net -- and went plus-2 in Thursday's win over Minnesota.
Analysis: Bryan Bickell's been a semi-regular visitor to the scoresheet of late, having tallied five points in his last six games, but his offensive production remains relatively meager. That said, he certainly responded to his promotion to the second line, and he could be in line for a short-term scoring spike as long as he can hold his place there.

Hawks' Bickell Moves Up To Second Line

News: Bryan Bickell is expected to move up from the third line to the second line with Brad Richards and Patrick Kane for Thursday's game against the Wild, ESPN Chicago reports.
Analysis: Bryan Bickell skated with Teuvo Teravainen and Andrew Shaw in Tuesday's loss to the Avalanche. After getting a big contract a couple of years ago in the wake of winning the Stanley Cup, Bickell has been a disappointment, but he has shown some life lately. In the last four games, Bickell has produced two goals and an assist. All told, he's actually enjoying a better season than he did last year, as he's nearly matched his point total from 2013-14 in 19 fewer games.

Hawks' Bickell Ties Game With Goalie Pulled

News: Bryan Bickell scored his fifth goal of the season in dramatic fashion Monday, slipping the puck past Pekka Rinne at 18:47 of the third with the net empty to send the game to overtime. Chicago went on to win 5-4 in a shootout.
Analysis: Bryan Bickell also chipped in an assist while skating to a plus-1 in 9:42 of ice time. The 28-year-old certainly isn't the same beast that racked up 27 points in his last 42 playoff games, but his 13 points and 76 hits in 37 games this season make him a useful depth forward for the Blackhawks.

Chicago's Bickell Tallies Goal In Victory

News: Bryan Bickell bagged his third goal of the season in Wednesday's win over the Avalanche.
Analysis: The versatile Bryan Bickell has been used on a number of lines and has bounced on and off the team's power-play this season, but nothing has really allowed his production to take off. He's supplied eight points through 22 games and probably won't see many more opportunities in the Blackhawks' top-six forwards while Kris Versteeg continues to thrive.

Bickell Tallies Two Helpers For 'Hawks In Rout

News: Bryan Bickell notched a pair of assists and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-0 dumping of the Canadiens.
Analysis: A nice night for Bryan Bickell, but he still has a modest three points in his last eight games and just six in 13 games this season. At least it's got him on a far better pace than last year's 15-point effort.

Hawks' Bickell Scores First Goal Of Season

News: Bryan Bickell scored his first goal of the season and also registered an assist in the Blackhawks' 4-0 victory over the Flyers on Tuesday.
Analysis: Bryan Bickell earned a new contract a couple of years ago for his work in the Stanley Cup playoffs, but he's never been a huge contributor over an 82-game schedule. The Blackhawks are looking for more during the regular season than the 11 goals and four assists he had last season in 59 games. With three points through five games in 2014-15, he seems to be off on the right foot.

Chicago's Bickell Pots Goal in Game 4

News: Bryan Bickell tallied a goal in Monday's Game 4 loss to the Kings.
Analysis: Bryan Bickell's postseason scoring surge had hit some resistance prior to his tally in Game 4, with the winger held scoreless for the first three games of the series. While his scoring has gone a bit quiet against the Kings, he's still remained involved defensively, logging 18 hits over the four games.

Blackhawks' Bickell Tallies Three Points

News: Bickhell scored a goal, added two assists, and was a plus-3 against the Wild in Sunday's Game 2.
Analysis: Bryan Bickell has a five game point streak going, and he has notched five points in his two games against the Wild. He made his name, and his money, in last year's postseason, and he is coming up big again.

Chicago's Bickell Pots Two In Game 1 Victory

News: Bryan Bickell potted two goals as the Blackhawks cruised to a 5-2 victory in Friday's Game 1 win over the Wild.
Analysis: Could Bryan Bickell have another out-of-nowhere playoff scoring run left in him? Bickell remains off pace of his 17-point postseason a year earlier, but he's sprung to life of late offensively, scoring at least one point in each of his last four contests. It might be worth riding him in postseason pools while he remains on fire.

Hawks' Bickell Notches First Goal Of Playoffs

News: Bryan Bickell scored his first goal of the postseason in Wednesday's Game 4 victory over the Blues.
Analysis: The surprise hero of last season's Stanley Cup run, Bryan Bickell's flair for the postseason was evident once again Wednesday. His score with four minutes left in regulation tied the game at 3-3, while the winger also provided a team-leading seven hits defensively.

Hawks' Bickell Will Play Thursday

News: Bryan Bickell (upper body) will play Thursday against the Wild, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
Analysis: Bryan Bickell has been sidelined since March 19, but will return just in time for the Blackhawks, who will now be without Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews for the rest of the regular season. Bickell recorded 10 goals and two assists in 53 games before getting hurt.

News: Bryan Bickell (upper body) will not play Sunday against the Penguins, csnchicago.com reports.

Hawks' Bickell Targeting Thursday

News: Bryan Bickell (upper body) is expected to be back on the ice on Thursday against Minnesota, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Analysis: Bryan Bickell has participated in three extended morning skates heading into Sunday's game against the Penguins. The Blackhawks have been overly cautious with Bickell to get him ready for the stretch run in the regular season and the playoffs. "At this time of the year, we want to be smart about it, and we have some time to rest and make sure that he's more than ready," Hawks' coach Joel Quenneville said. "We're going to need his presence at an important time, so we'll give him time to get ready. If it was a playoff game, I'm sure he'd be playing [Sunday]."

Blackhawks' Bickell Out Friday

News: Bryan Bickell (upper body) will not play in Friday's game against the Ottawa Senators, ESPN Chicago reports.

Hawks' Bickell Out Thursday, Could Play Friday

News: Bryan Bickell (upper body) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Bruins, but could still play Friday against the Senators, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
Analysis: Though Bryan Bickell will miss his fourth straight game, his continued participation at morning skate suggests a return is on the horizon. If the coaching staff feels comfortable with where Bickell is at in his recovery Friday morning, there's a decent chance he could slot back in on the third line against Ottawa.
