Coyotes Deal Prucha To KHL

News: Prucha was dealt to SKA of the KHL on Tuesday, according to Sovetsky Sport.
Analysis: Prucha had a difficult time keeping himself in the Coyotes' lineup and spent more time with San Antonio than with Phoenix. Before his departure to the KHL, he collected 21 points in 20 game appearances with San Antonio.

Coyotes' Prucha Clears Waivers

News: Prucha cleared waivers Friday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
Analysis: Prucha will report to AHL San Antonio. Expect him to be considered next time the Coyotes need a forward.

Coyotes Waive Prucha

News: Prucha was waived by the Coyotes on Thursday, Newsday's Steve Zipay reports.
Analysis: Prucha appeared in 79 games with the Coyotes last season, but the team decided to send him down after he scored just one point in the 11 games he appeared in. It would not be surprising to see Prucha get claimed by a team looking for some forward help.

Coyotes' Prucha Scores First Point

News: Prucha recorded his first point of the season with an assist on Radim Vrbata's goal Thursday night in the 4-2 victory against Detroit.
Analysis: It is becoming apparent that Prucha and Wojtek Wolksi are the two forwards that might be sharing ice time. Prucha responds to being a healthy scratch by contributing to the offense his next game back.

Coyotes' Prucha Healthy Scratch

News: Prucha has been a healthy scratch for the past two games.
Analysis: Even with the injury to Martin Hanzal, the Coyotes elected to play Kyle Turris and Andrew Ebbett instead. Part of this decision is positional as Prucha is not a true centerman, but to a large degree others on the team are just playing better. He did not score a point in the three games where he appeared, two of which the Coyotes lost.

Prucha healthy once again

News: Coyotes winger Petr Prucha used the Olympic break to get healthy once again after taking a hard hit to the head from Dallas' James Neal. He returned Tuesday against St. Louis.
Analysis: Prucha isn't having a great offensive season, and remains just a low-end flier in the deepest of leagues.

Prucha taken off on stretcher

News: Coyotes LW Petr Prucha was wheeled off the ice on a stretcher early in the first period Saturday night after taking a hard hit from Dallas' James Neal. The Coyotes said Prucha was conscious and taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Analysis: Prucha isn't having a great offensive season, and remains just a low-end flier in the deepest of leagues when healthy.

Prucha has two points in 11 games

News: Coyotes LW Petr Prucha picked up just his second point in the last 11 games when he assisted in Wednesday's win over the Wild.
Analysis: Despite his recent struggles offensively, Prucha is still sticking around on a scoring line for the Coyotes. You can't argue with a coach who has his team winning 12 of their last 14 games though. Prucha remains just a low-end flier in the deepest of leagues.

Prucha scores twice in Saturday win

News: Coyotes LW Petr Prucha scored twice in Saturday's win over the Wild. He now has 11 tallies on the season.
Analysis: It's all been pretty much downhill for Prucha since his 47-point rookie campaign with the Rangers, and is only worth worrying about in the deepest of leagues.

Prucha scores eighth goal of season

News: Phoenix LW Petr Prucha scored his eighth goal of the season on Tuesday in a 3-2 shootout win over the Canucks. Prucha's goal came 17:02 into the second period on a wrist shot and gave him 11 points on the year.
Analysis: Prucha has hit 40 points twice in his career, so he's got a little bit of offensive prowess, but remains just a flier in super-deep leagues as his lack of assists really bring his Fantasy value down.

Prucha has rare two-goal night

News: Coyotes LW Petr Prucha scored twice in a game for the first time in almost two years as Phoenix doubled up the Leafs 6-3 on Wednesday.
Analysis: Prucha has hit 40 points twice in his career, so he's got a little bit of offensive prowess, but remains just a flier in super-deep leagues for now.

Prucha mired in scoring slump

News: The Sports Xchange reports Coyotes LW Petr Prucha remains mired in a scoring slump. He has now gone an entire month without a goal after failing to score on Monday against the Oilers. Prucha has just five points in 22 games this year and has taken just 48 shots overall.
Analysis: It's a real shame Prucha can't find his rhythm since he did so well when he came to Phoenix at the trade deadline last season. It seems Prucha just no longer has a grip on how to perform in the NHL. Ignore him in Fantasy until further notice.

Prucha active, goes without point

News: Phoenix LW Petr Prucha was able to play on Saturday against the Blue Jackets after getting knocked out of Thursday's contest. He was held without a point in a 2-0 loss.
Analysis: Prucha opened the season with two points in his first two games and hopefully this injury won't slow down his solid start to the season. Consider Prucha a Fantasy sleeper for deeper formats now that he's healthy and can be active for Fantasy Week 2 (Oct. 12-18).

Prucha gets knocked out Thursday

News: Phoenix forward Petr Prucha was knocked out Thursday 32 seconds into the second period after taking a hit from Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta. Martin Hanzal jumped Kaleta and received 19 minutes worth of penalties, leaving Phoenix two players short for most of the period while giving the Sabres a four-minute power play. Prucha had no points in 6:28 of ice time.
Analysis: Prucha opened the season with two points in his first two games. It seemed only an injury could slow him down and it has. Let's just hope Prucha can bounce back and stay the course since he has done well after joining Phoenix at last season's trade deadline. Consider Prucha a Fantasy sleeper for deeper formats when healthy.

Prucha scores acrobatic goal Wed.

News: Petr Prucha was knocked off his skates in front of the net but still pushed the puck into the net while down on a Penguins player's back in the second period, and the Phoenix Coyotes took advantage of nine power plays to beat Pittsburgh 3-0 on Wednesday. Prucha improvised to score an odd but important goal. Skating toward the net, Prucha collided with Mark Eaton and was knocked off his skates, but, landing on Eaton's back in front of the net, controlled Radim Vrbata's rebound and steered the puck past Brent Johnson at 10:47. Pittsburgh's Brooks Orpik was off for hooking.
Analysis: Prucha now has two points (one goal) in his first two games. Phoenix re-signed the Czech forward after picking him up at the trade deadline from the Rangers in 2008-09. Prucha was floundering with the Rangers and Phoenix provided him a chance to get his career back on track. It seems he is doing just that. Consider Prucha a Fantasy sleeper for deeper formats.

Coyotes opt to keep Prucha

News: The Phoenix Coyotes have re-signed left wing Petr Prucha to a two-year contract. Terms were not disclosed. The 26-year-old Prucha scored six goals and had 13 assists in 47 games with the Coyotes and New York Rangers last season.
Analysis: Prucha joined Phoenix on March 4 in the deal that sent defenseman Derek Morris to the Rangers at the trade deadline. He had 10 points (two goals) in 19 games with the Coyotes. It seems now that Prucha is out of the doldrums in New York he is once again becoming a viable NHL contributor. Prucha will be best left for the deepest of Fantasy formats Draft Day.

Prucha busts out with three-pointer

News: Coyotes C Petr Prucha scored once and added two assists in Monday's win over the Stars. He has only 18 points this season, but six in his last five games.
Analysis: Prucha has been a better player since leaving New York. That's primarily because he was hardly a factor in the game plan and now is logging top-six time with the 'Yotes. Despite the recent surge, Prucha still isn't an elite offensive player and has low-end Fantasy appeal.

Prucha has first goal with 'Yotes

News: Coyotes C Petr Prucha scored a goal during Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Ducks. Prucha cut the deficit in half just 48 seconds into the second period with his fifth goal this season and first in 10 games with the Coyotes, who acquired him from the New York Rangers on March 4.
Analysis: Prucha has five points since joining the Coyotes and has been a better player since leaving New York. That's primarily because he was hardly a factor in the game plan and now is logging top-six time with the 'Yotes. Despite the recent surge, Prucha still isn't an elite offensive player and has low-end Fantasy appeal.

Prucha finally gets out of N.Y.

News: The Rangers were busy at the trade deadline Wednesday by not only acquiring forward Nik Antropov, but also picking up Derek Morris in a trade with the Coyotes. The Rangers are sending defenseman Dmitri Kalinin, forward Nigel Dawes and forward Petr Prucha to Phoenix.
Analysis: After totaling 47 points as a rookie in 2005-06, the 26-year-old Prucha has been on the decline. It hit an all-time low in 2008-09 as he managed just four goals and five assists in 28 games. He moves to Phoenix and might finally get regular PT, but until Prucha -- a free agent in the offseason -- re-establishes himself, he has low-end Fantasy appeal.

Prucha trying to revive season

News: Rangers C Petr Prucha scored a goal and finished at plus-1 during Saturday's game against the Avalanche. Prucha, given a second chance under new coach John Tortorella after being a regular scratch by Tom Renney, made it 3-0 with 6:36 left in the first period. It was his fourth goal and first since Jan. 3.
Analysis: Prucha has logged regular minutes in the first few games under Tortorella, but this could also be a ploy to dangle the veteran forward as trade bait with the March 4 deadline looming. We won't know until the deadline passes, but Prucha has little Fantasy value until he really starts producing.

News: Rangers C Petr Prucha tallied an assist and finished at plus-1 in 11:37 of ice time Monday against the Penguins. He also spent four minutes in the penalty box. Prucha has two goals and one assist during a three-game point streak.
Analysis: Prucha has made the most of his recent playing time since returning to the Rangers lineup Dec. 29. He was a healthy scratch for most of December and is trying to give the Rangers good reason to keep him active. This could also be a ploy by the team to dangle Prucha as trade bait. For now, he remains just a low-end Fantasy reserve.

Prucha back in lineup, scores

News: Rangers C Petr Prucha scored a goal and took five shots Monday during a 5-4 win against the Islanders. Prucha got back into the lineup after being benched for eight games and made the decision look good with his second goal of the season 49 seconds into the third period. His other goal this season came on Dec. 3, after he was benched for 10 games.
Analysis: The Rangers have been wanting to unload Prucha for quite some time, but haven't found any takers. If they give him some more PT to dangle him as trade bait, the move just might pay off. Prucha has little Fantasy value at this time, but keep tabs on his progress.

Zherdev scores in regulation and OT

News: Rangers RW Nikolai Zherdev was named the First Star Wednesday for his performance in a 3-2 shootout win over the Penguins. He scored the Rangers’ first goal in regulation and had one of three shootout goals against G Dany Sabourin. Zherdev has at least one point in five of his last six games, with 2 goals and 6 assists during that span
Analysis: Zherdev is beginning to put together consistent offensive numbers and is averaging nearly a point-per-game. He has been streaky, but he is on a roll again. Get him active in your Fantasy league and hope he can keep up the scoring.

Prucha returns and scores

News: Rangers LW Petr Prucha had been a healthy scratch for the past 10 games, but he got to play on Wednesday against the Penguins and he made it count. He scored his first goal of the season late in the third period and helped his team to a 3-2 shootout win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Prucha came into the league with a good deal of potential, but hasn't produced since his rookie season in 2005-2006. Prucha got to play Wednesday, but who knows how often he will get starts in the future? Until he starts consistently producing, leave him on waivers.

Prucha to play Wednesday

News: Newsday reports that Rangers C Petr Prucha will end his 10-game scratch streak Wednesday night against the Penguins.
Analysis: Prucha hasn't been much of a reliable player the last two seasons and hasn't shown the 30-goal potential he flashed as a rookie in 2005-06. Prucha could use a fresh start, but until he gets it, he has little to no Fantasy value.
