Boston's Eriksson Gets Goal In Loss

News: Loui Eriksson scored his 22nd goal of the season in Saturday's los to the Lightning.
Analysis: He has just never been able to replicate his success from Dallas. He didn't deliver a multi-point effort in 2015 (gulp) when the Bruins needed that the most. He'll be turning 30 this summer and we'd like to say he'll rebound back to the offensive heights of his time with the Stars. But unfortunately, we don't think that will happen.

Bruins' Eriksson Stays Hot With Goal Thursday

News: Loui Eriksson found the back of the net on one of his three shot attempts in Thursday's comeback victory over the Red Wings.
Analysis: The Bruins trailed by a 2-0 count with 15 minutes remaining in the third period, but a furious rally that included Loui Eriksson's tying goal got Boston the victory. Eriksson has been a central figure in the Bruins' recent surge, as he's potted three goals and handed out an assist in the team's last five games. He makes for a worthy activation while he continues to roll.

Bruins' Eriksson Snipes Power-Play Goal

News: Loui Eriksson sniped a power-play goal in Thursday's overtime loss to the Ducks.
Analysis: Loui Eriksson gave the Bruins a 2-1 lead 27 seconds into the third period, but it didn't hold up as the game-winner, as the Ducks came through with the equalizer in the period's final minute. The winger isn't exactly lighting it up offensively of late, but with seven goals and four assists since mid-February, he's been a useful complementary piece to the Bruins' attack.

Bruins' Eriksson Continues To Shine In Win

News: Loui Eriksson netted his 17th goal of the season in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Senators.
Analysis: Loui Eriksson extended the Bruins' lead to 2-0 with a display of great patience in waiting for goalie Craig Anderson to make a move before depositing the puck in the open area of the net. The winger hasn't quite lived up to expectations during his tenure in Boston, but he's currently in the midst of one of his most productive runs of the past two seasons. He's tallied a point in four straight games and has recorded five goals and three helpers over his last 10 contests.

Bruins' Eriksson Notches 15th Goal

News: Loui Eriksson scored his 15th goal of the season in Thursday's shootout loss to the Flames.
Analysis: Loui Eriksson -- who has recorded four points over his last five games -- registered a team-high seven shots Thursday and came close to scoring a couple more goals in addition to his third-period tally. The 29-year-old winger now has 36 points in 62 games this season, which places him second in scoring on the Bruins, behind Patrice Bergeron (45 points).

Bruins' Eriksson Gets Assist, Logs Four SOG

News: Loui Eriksson finished with an assist and four shots of goal in Tuesday's loss to the Canucks.
Analysis: The Bruins have been sputtering of late, but it's been through little fault of Loui Eriksson, who has tallied two goals and an assist over his last four games. However, prior to this mini-heat wave, Eriksson had been scuffling, and has generally failed to meet the high expectations the team set for him after acquiring him in the summer of 2013. The former three-time 70-point scorer is on track to fall short of 50 points this season, despite missing only one game thus far.

Bruins' Eriksson Nets Winner

News: Loui Eriksson scored the game-winning goal Saturday in a 2-1 win over the Islanders.
Analysis: The guy sure has quick hands -- he fished the puck out of his feet in a scramble in front of the Isles' net and backhanded it under the goalie's left arm. He now has a point in each of his last two games (one goal, one assist) and 31 in 51. He used to be a perennial 70-point guy in Dallas, but is more a 50-point type in Boston. Measure his value accordingly.

Bruins' Eriksson Looks Good To Go

News: Loui Eriksson (neck) was on the ice for the Bruins' morning skate and appears set to play Wednesday against the Rangers, Joe Haggerty of CSN New England reports.
Analysis: Loui Eriksson was back at practice Tuesday and experienced no issues with his neck, so his appearance at Wednesday's morning skate is seemingly verification that he's fully healthy. He's set to skate on the Bruins' second line alongside Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand.

Bruins' Eriksson Returns To Practice

News: Loui Eriksson (neck) returned to practice Tuesday.
Analysis: Loui Eriksson is merely dealing with neck stiffness, and he's still expected to play in Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Bruins' Eriksson Has Stiff Neck, Expected To Play

News: Loui Eriksson is dealing with a stiff neck after getting his head slammed into the boards late in Saturday's contest, but is expected to play Wednesday, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Loui Eriksson didn't participate in practice Monday, but coach Claude Julien expects him to participate Tuesday and to play in Wednesday's game against the Rangers. The 29-year-old had collected 29 points in 49 games this season, but should receive an update if something prevents him from a chance at adding to that total Wednesday.

Bruins' Eriksson Notches 10th Goal

News: Loui Eriksson scored a goal in 18:29 worth of ice time in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Rangers.
Analysis: Loui Eriksson had gone eight games without a goal, though he did record five assists in that span. Overall, Eriksson has notched 10 goals and 27 points in 44 games to go along with a plus-10 rating. With young David Pastrnak set to remain with the Bruins and the team generally healthy up front, the squad's line combos should remain fairly stable until the next injury, with Eriksson in line to work on the team's effective third line with Chris Kelly and Carl Soderberg.

Bruins' Eriksson Returns

News: Loui Eriksson (hand) recorded an assist in 15:58 worth of ice time in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Flyers.
Analysis: Loui Eriksson's hand injury thus ended up costing him just one game, with the winger returning Saturday to man right wing on the Bruins' third line, centered by Carl Soderberg.

Bruins' Eriksson (Hand) To Return Saturday

News: Loui Eriksson (hand) will return to the Boston lineup Saturday against the Flyers, Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Loui Eriksson was cleared to play after taking part in line rushes during warmups. Both he and Reilly Smith skated at the right wing spot on the third line, so it's not immediately clear how things will shake out for Eriksson. It's possible he sees time with both the third line and as a member of a top trio that also includes Brad Marchand and David Krejci.

Bruins' Eriksson (Hand) To Take Warmups

News: Loui Eriksson (hand) will take part in pregame warmups prior to Saturday's game against the Flyers, Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: It would certainly seem to bolster Loui Eriksson's chances of playing Saturday, but the Bruins will likely check in with him after the session before deciding on his status for the contest. Eriksson had been playing exceedingly well prior to acquiring the injury, tallying four goals and six assists over his last 10 games.

Bruins' Eriksson Game-Time Decision Saturday

News: Loui Eriksson (hand) will be a game-time decision for Saturday's game against the Flyers.
Analysis: While Loui Eriksson's status for Saturday's contest is cloudy, that he is viewed as a game-time decision does appear to confirm the notion that the winger's hand injury is relatively minor and won't involve an extended absence.

Bruins' Eriksson Iffy For Saturday

News: Coach Claude Julien indicated Friday that Loui Eriksson (right hand) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Flyers, csnne.com's Joe Haggerty reports.
Analysis: The report relays via Julien that Loui Eriksson is doing better than he was on Thursday, when he sat out the Bruins' win over New Jersey, but at this stage the winger should be considered day-to-day.

Bruins' Eriksson (Hand) Spotted On Ice

News: Loui Eriksson (hand/wrist) was spotted on the ice Friday morning, but he appeared to be shooting "rather gingerly," Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: A long-term absence isn't expected, but Loui Eriksson is no sure thing to play in Saturday's game against the Flyers. He missed Thursday's contest against the Devils, after taking an uncalled slash Wednesday night.

Bruins' Eriksson (Hand) Out Thursday

News: Loui Eriksson (hand/wrist) will not play in Thursday's game against the Devils, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Erikson was slashed during the second period of Wednesday's game against the Penguins, and he later left the contest in the third period. According to Benjamin, Bruins coach Claude Julien does not believe that the injury will result in a long-term absence. Boston's next game is scheduled for Saturday in Philadelphia.

Bruins' Eriksson Suffers Hand Injury Wednesday

News: Loui Eriksson left Wednesday's game in the third period after being slashed in the hand/wrist area in the second period, CSN New England reports.
Analysis: Loui Eriksson continued playing after suffering the injury but was eventually forced from the game after recording 11:56 TOI. The extent of his injury is uncertain, but it puts his availability for Boston's next game Thursday in question.

Bruins' Eriksson Helps Out

News: Loui Eriksson picked up two assists Monday -- one on an empty-netter -- and went plus-3 in a 5-2 win over Detroit.
Analysis: All of a sudden, Loui Eriksson's been piling up these multi-point outings of late, having put up four two-point games over his last six. It seems like for the first time in a couple years, you can roll him confidently.

Bruins' Eriksson Finds Net Twice

News: Loui Eriksson scored in the second period and buried the puck in an empty net with 38 seconds remaining Tuesday in a win over Nashville.
Analysis: With four goals and six points over his last four games, Loui Eriksson's officially hot. He's been finding twine with great regularity of late, having tallied six times over the last eight games. This recent production has pushed his season numbers up to a pace nearly identical to last year's, but at least he's finding twine more often -- with nine goals now, he should easily surpass the totals of 10 and 12 that he posted over the last two seasons.

Bruins' Eriksson Nabs Two Points In Win

News: Loui Eriksson added an assist and scored the game winning goal in overtime in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Sabres.
Analysis: Loui Eriksson now has two multi-point efforts in his last three games, and six points in his last seven. The 29-year-old now has 19 points on seven goals in 34 games. While he won't come close to the 70-point seasons he has put up before, the winger could surpass last season's total of 37.

Bruins' Eriksson Scores Game-Winner Wednesday

News: Loui Eriksson collected a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Wild.
Analysis: The winger teamed up with linemate Carl Soderberg twice on the night, and ended up picking up the game-winner in overtime. He now has six goals and 11 assists in 32 games this season, and has started to heat up lately.

Bruins' Eriksson Nets Fourth Goal

News: Loui Eriksson tallied his fourth goal of the season in Saturday's win over the Coyotes.
Analysis: Loui Eriksson's tally came on the power play with just 30 seconds remaining in the second period, giving the Bruins a four-goal cushion. The score snapped a 13-game drought without a goal for the winger.

Bruins' Eriksson Back In Goal Column

News: Loui Eriksson scored a goal for the first time since Oct. 16 and added a power-play assist in Thursday's win over Edmonton.
Analysis: A nice night for Loui Eriksson, who's nonetheless still struggling to prove that he can be the kind of team-carrying scorer he was for the Stars from 2008-09 to 2011-12 before suddenly falling off the pace in the lockout-shortened season two years ago. Still only 29 years old and enjoying regular top-six ice time for the B's, Eriksson represents a somewhat risky, but potentially high-reward buy-low opportunity.
