Wings' Kindl Gets Second Goal Of Season

News: Jakub Kindl notched his second goal of the season in Wednesday's shootout loss to the Penguins.
Analysis: With 18 points in 64 games this season, Jakub Kindl wouldn't seem to be much of an offensive contributor, but he's actually defied that reputation of late. He's provided five points over his last seven contests, and has fired off a shot on goal in five straight games.

Wings' Kindl Collects Two Power-Play Assists

News: Jakub Kindl grabbed two power-play helpers Saturday, as the Wings handed the Wild just their eighth regulation loss of the year at Xcel Energy Center. His point total for the year now sits at 13, tying a career high.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl has missed some time recently due to a knee issue and as a healthy scratch, but has been seeing time on the Wings' second power play unit. His time on the man advantage is mostly by necessity, as coach Mike Babcock is missing a bunch of players (Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg, Dan Cleary and Jonathan Ericsson, to name a few) that would normally bump Kindl out of the power play rotation. Regardless, Kindl doesn't possess much value and is not the answer if you're looking to bolster your back end.

Red Wings' Kindl To Play Friday

News: Jakub Kindl will replace Brian Lashoff in the lineup for Friday's game against the Devils, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl has dealt with a sore knee for a while and has not played since Feb. 3, but he will return to action Friday night. Kindl has tallied a goal, 10 assists, and 22 PIM in 50 games this season.

Wings' Kindl Watching From Press Box

News: Jakub Kindl was a healthy scratch Thursday, reports MLive.com's Ansar Khan.
Analysis: He was also scratched despite being good to go Tuesday. Fantasy owners aren't exactly missing Jakub Kindl's 11 points on the year while he languishes in the press box, but with the Wings having dropped the last two games, they may work him back into the lineup soon.

Red Wings' Kindl Targeting Tuesday

News: Jakub Kindl (lower body) expects to be ready for Tuesday's game in New Jersey, MLive.com reports.
Analysis: With the Red Wings playing well since the Olympic break, Jakub Kindl acknowledged that he'd likely be a healthy scratch Tuesday, even if he's ready to play.

Wings' Kindl Not Quite Ready

News: Jakub Kindl (knee) doesn't expect to play either Wednesday against Montreal or Thursday against Ottawa, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: The report suggests that Jakub Kindl needs more practice time before he plays, with the Wings having added Ryan Sproul to their blue line for depth purposes in the meantime.

Wings' Kindl Questionable For Wednesday

News: Jakub Kindl (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Canadiens, MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl sprained his MCL February 3, but was able to practice a few times over the Olympic break. Last week he was expected to be available for Wednesday's game, but now it sounds like his status is completely up in the air again. Red Wings GM Ken Holland added that if Kindl doesn't play Wednesday, he won't play Thursday against the Senators either.

Red Wings' Kindl Ready To Play Again

News: Jakub Kindl (lower body) is expected to be available when the Red Wings take the ice for their first game out of the break next week, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl missed the final two games before the Olympic break and was placed on injured reserve to free up some roster space. It doesn't appear the injury was too serious, however, and the added rest time during the break should allow him to return to the lineup right away without missing further action.

Red Wings' Kindl Listed On IR

News: Jakub Kindl (lower body) is listed on injured reserve.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl missed the final two games before the Olympic break with the lower-body injury, but there's still a good chance he'll be healthy by the time the Red Wings resume play in late February. His move to IR simply gave the Red Wings some more roster flexibility over those final two games.

Wings' Kindl Out Through Break

News: Jakub Kindl (lower body) will miss the Red Wings' final two games before the Olympic break, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl was originally supposed to just miss Thursday's game against the Panthers, but now it looks like he'll be out for Saturday's game against the Lightning as well. He should be fine after resting over the two-week break.

Wings' Kindl Out For Thursday

News: Jakub Kindl (lower body) will not play Thursday against the Panthers, Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News reports.

Wings' Kindl Injured

News: Jakub Kindl did not skate Wednesday due to a lower body injury, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: There's no word yet on when the injury occurred or how serious it is, so it's safest to consider him day-to-day for now.

Wings' Kindl Likely A Scratch Wednesday

News: Jakub Kindl is expected to be a healthy scratch Wednesday night against the Blackhawks, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: With the return of Jonathan Ericsson, it looks like Jakub Kindl will be the odd man out on the blue line. It remains to be seen what Kindl's role will be moving forward, but considering he's played 47 games this season, you'd have to believe he'll remain in the mix most nights.

Wings' Kindl Posts Assist In Win

News: Jakub Kindl notched an assist Sunday to aid in a 4-2 win against Ottawa.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl has been one of the few Red Wings to stay healthy this season, playing in all 28 games. He gives the Wings decent defense and also contributes offensively once in a while, with 10 points on the year.

Wings' Kindl Expected To Play Sunday

News: Despite missing a fair amount of ice time Saturday due to a hip issue, Jakub Kindl is expected to play Sunday against the Sabres, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: Despite sitting out a good potion of Saturday's game, Jakub Kindl still made the trip to Buffalo for Sunday's tilt. Keep an eye on him though as he could have his ice time limited should he experience any sort of a flare-up.

Kindl Active In Detroit Loss

News: Jakub Kindl registered two assists in Friday's shootout loss to Washington, giving him three helpers over the last four games.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl quietly is putting together a nice season with a goal and seven assists over 20 games along with averaging 2:11 of power-play ice time per contests. Kindl is establishing himself as a viable option in deeper leagues and half his points have come on the man advantage.

Kindl Scores In Wings' Road Win

News: Jakub Kindl logged a goal and a power-play assist Saturday as Detroit cruised past Edmonton, 5-0.
Analysis: It's his first tally of the season and just his fourth assist. Don't expect a tidal wave of offense from him.

Wings' Kindl Scores First Point Of Season

News: Jakub Kindl tallied his first point of the season Thursday but the Red Wings fell to the Coyotes 4-2.

Wings' Kindl Will Play Friday

News: Jakub Kindl (hip) will suit up for the Red Wings preseason game against the Maple Leafs on Friday, MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl has missed the last three games with a hip flexor, but will get two more preseason games in before the regular season begins on Wednesday. Kindl notched four goals and nine assists in 41 games last season for the Red Wings.

Red Wings' Kindl Re-Signs To Four-Year Deal

News: Jakub Kindl re-signed with the Red Wings on a four-year, $9.6 million contract Friday, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl proved to be a capable contributor on the offense side based on most blueliner's standards, potting four goals and adding nine assists to help him to a plus-15 rating. He'll likely be looking at a bigger role next season in light of the breakout campaign.

Wings' Kindl Scores Game-Winning Goal Thursday

News: Jakub Kindl scored his first career playoff goal, which stood as the eventual game-winner in Thursday's victory over Chicago.
Analysis: For a player who struggled at times to stay in the regular blue-line rotation last season, Jakub Kindl's emergence over the course of the year has been a huge boost to the Wings as they had to adjust to life without Nicklas Lidstrom heading up their blue-line corps this season. Although his offensive contributions are not elite, Kindl's expanded role put him on pace for a 26-point season if projected over a typical 82-game slate.

Wings' Kindl Snaps Scoreless Slump

News: Jakub Kindl snapped a six-game scoreless streak with a power-play goal in Thursday's shootout loss to San Jose.
Analysis: He also hadn't found twine since back on March 10 vs. Columbus, so Jakub Kindl and his fantasy owners have to be happy to see things turn his way in this one.

Detroit's Kindl Posts Plus-4 Night

News: Jakub Kindl banked an assist and finished plus-4 in Saturday's win at Vancouver.
Analysis: He isn't setting any scoring records (even for rearguards) with eight points in 22 starts, but his plus-14 rating leads the team. If your league emphasizes that category, he's worth watching; the Red Wings will probably improve over the remainder of the season, and that generally bodes well for +/- ratings.

Wings' Kindl Lights The Lamp Thursday

News: Jakub Kindl potted his second goal of the season in Thursday night's win over Edmonton.
Analysis: Even with the return of Ian White, Jakub Kindl has been in the lineup for eight consecutive games after taking the healthy scratch February 21 against Columbus. Generally a stay-at-home type, Kindl's place in the lineup appears to be reasonably safe at the present time.
