Wings' Kindl Scores Twice In Win

News: Jakub Kindl scored twice in Saturday's wild 7-6 overtime win over Dallas.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl now has four points in his last three games, giving him four goals and 11 points in 29 games on the season. While he's seeing some quality power-play time, the 28-year-old is not known for being a big offensive producer. He'll produce in bunches, but overall he's too inconsistent to be trusted in most fantasy leagues.

Red Wings Recall Kindl From Conditioning Stint

News: Jakub Kindl was recalled Friday from his conditioning stint at AHL Grand Rapids, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: With Kyle Quincey day-to-day with a lower-body injury and seemingly doubtful to play Saturday against the Stars, Jakub Kindl should be on track for a return to the Detroit lineup. Kindl made his last appearance with the team Dec. 27 before a stint on IR with an elbow injury ended up costing him a month of action. He was unable to win his lineup spot back after that, but should have an opportunity to stake his claim to a regular role Saturday. Look for Kindl to join Danny DeKeyser on the Wings' second defensive pairing.

Red Wings Loan Kindl To AHL For Conditioning

News: The Red Wings loaned Jakub Kindl to AHL Grand Rapids for a conditioning stint Saturday.
Analysis: It's no surprise that Jakub Kindl is probably out of game shape, as he hasn't been able to crack the lineup since returning from an elbow injury Jan. 28. He'll likely play in several games with Grand Rapids before getting a chance to return to the Red Wings' active roster.

Red Wings' Kindl Activated From IR

News: Jakub Kindl (elbow) was activated from injured reserve Wednesday.
Analysis: The activation confirms Jakub Kindl is fully healthy at this point, but coach Mike Babcock said the blueliner would remain a healthy scratch for Thursday's game against the Lightning. Xavier Ouellet will continue to hold down a spot on the Wings' third pairing until he begins to struggle.

Red Wings' Kindl May Not Be Ready To Return

News: Jakub Kindl (elbow) may still be a few days away from being activated from injured reserve, The Detroit News reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl was expected to return after the All-Star break, but it sounds as if he's no sure thing for Tuesday's game against the Panthers. There haven't been reports about a setback, and it's still possible that he returns for Tuesday's game.

Red Wings' Kindl (Elbow) To Miss Another Week

News: General manager Ken Holland said Friday that Jakub Kindl (elbow) won't return to active duty until after the All-Star break, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl appeared to be on the cusp of a return a few days earlier, but after consulting a doctor, the blueliner was ruled out for an additional week. Because Kindl wouldn't receive clearance to return any earlier than Tuesday's game against the Wild, the team reasoned he would be better served taking advantage of the extended break to aid his recovery process.

Red Wings' Kindl Returns To Practice Friday

News: Jakub Kindl (elbow) returned to practice Friday, Chuck Pleiness of the Macomb Daily reports.
Analysis: The elbow has prevented Jakub Kindl from practicing over the last few days, but he'll attempt to regain some conditioning and close in on a return to the lineup. The Red Wings haven't provided an expected return date for the defenseman just yet.

Red Wings' Kindl Practices Friday

News: Jakub Kindl (elbow) was back practicing Friday, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl won't be eligible to return from injured reserve until Sunday, so he won't be an option for Saturday's tilt with the Canucks, marking the third straight game he'll miss. However, his participation in practice gives him a good shot at playing next week, when the Red Wings resume action Tuesday in Edmonton.

Wings' Kindl (Elbow) Placed On IR

News: Jakub Kindl (elbow) has been placed on short-term injured reserve, Chuck Pleiness of the Macomb Daily reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl sprained his elbow during Sunday's practice, rendering him unable to play in Monday's game against the Bruins. He'll be out until at least the middle of next week.

Wings' Kindl Out For Monday

News: Jakub Kindl is dealing with a suspected sprained elbow, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl hurt his elbow during Sunday's practice, and will be out for Monday's game against the Bruins. Fellow blueliner Brian Lashoff will take Kindl's place in the lineup.

Wings' Kindl Helps Out On Power Play

News: Jakub Kindl notched a pair of power-play assists and went minus-2 in Tuesday's 6-3 win over Buffalo.1
Analysis: The points snapped a six-game scoreless kick for Jakub Kindl, who now owns all of nine in 27 games this year. That actually puts him a tick ahead of the scoring pace that yielded a career-high 19 points last season, but Kindl retains little fantasy value thanks to combining his lack of offensive prowess with a relative dearth of hits, PIM and blocked shots.

Red Wings' Kindl Assists Twice In Win

News: Jakub Kindl collected two assists in Wednesday's victory over the Flyers.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl had been scratched in many of the Red Wings' recent contests, but his two-point day might have given him some added job security on the team's third pairing. The offense certainly won't come in droves for Kindl, but he would seem to possess more upside in that regard than Brian Lashoff, who he's replaced in the lineup the past two games.

Wings To Reinsert Kindl Into Lineup

News: Jakub Kindl will take Brian Lashoff's place in the lineup Monday versus the Senators, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: The Red Wings are still trying to decide who that sixth defenseman will be alongside Xavier Ouellet for the time being. Until either Jakub Kindl or Lashoff starts to play more consistently, this alternating will likely continue.

Wings' Kindl A Healthy Scratch Again

News: Jakub Kindl appears set to serve as a healthy scratch for the third straight game Thursday versus the Jets, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: Despite Brendan Smith (hand) being unavailable Thursday, Jakub Kindl will not reenter the lineup, as the newly-recalled Xavier Ouellet will slot in on the team's third pairing. It looks like Kindl will be a routine healthy scratch for the Red Wings until coach Ken Hitchcock grows dissatisfied with one of his other six blueliners.

Wings' Kindl Scores In 4-2 Victory

News: Jakub Kindl lit the lamp in a 4-2 victory over New Jersey on Friday.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl now has two goals and an assist in two games since snapping a nine-game scoreless streak. He has never scored 20 points in a season in his career, however, so the scoring droughts are more common than the mini scoring burst he's in right now.

Two-Point Night For Wings' Kindl

News: Jakub Kindl tallied a goal and an assist in Wednesday's overtime loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: The points were just the second and third of the season for Jakub Kindl, with both coming on the man advantage. Nights like these figure to be a rarity for the 27-year-old blueliner, who brings most of the value in the form of his defensive prowess.

Wings' Kindl Gets Second Goal Of Season

News: Jakub Kindl notched his second goal of the season in Wednesday's shootout loss to the Penguins.
Analysis: With 18 points in 64 games this season, Jakub Kindl wouldn't seem to be much of an offensive contributor, but he's actually defied that reputation of late. He's provided five points over his last seven contests, and has fired off a shot on goal in five straight games.

Wings' Kindl Collects Two Power-Play Assists

News: Jakub Kindl grabbed two power-play helpers Saturday, as the Wings handed the Wild just their eighth regulation loss of the year at Xcel Energy Center. His point total for the year now sits at 13, tying a career high.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl has missed some time recently due to a knee issue and as a healthy scratch, but has been seeing time on the Wings' second power play unit. His time on the man advantage is mostly by necessity, as coach Mike Babcock is missing a bunch of players (Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg, Dan Cleary and Jonathan Ericsson, to name a few) that would normally bump Kindl out of the power play rotation. Regardless, Kindl doesn't possess much value and is not the answer if you're looking to bolster your back end.

Red Wings' Kindl To Play Friday

News: Jakub Kindl will replace Brian Lashoff in the lineup for Friday's game against the Devils, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl has dealt with a sore knee for a while and has not played since Feb. 3, but he will return to action Friday night. Kindl has tallied a goal, 10 assists, and 22 PIM in 50 games this season.

Wings' Kindl Watching From Press Box

News: Jakub Kindl was a healthy scratch Thursday, reports MLive.com's Ansar Khan.
Analysis: He was also scratched despite being good to go Tuesday. Fantasy owners aren't exactly missing Jakub Kindl's 11 points on the year while he languishes in the press box, but with the Wings having dropped the last two games, they may work him back into the lineup soon.

Red Wings' Kindl Targeting Tuesday

News: Jakub Kindl (lower body) expects to be ready for Tuesday's game in New Jersey, MLive.com reports.
Analysis: With the Red Wings playing well since the Olympic break, Jakub Kindl acknowledged that he'd likely be a healthy scratch Tuesday, even if he's ready to play.

Wings' Kindl Not Quite Ready

News: Jakub Kindl (knee) doesn't expect to play either Wednesday against Montreal or Thursday against Ottawa, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: The report suggests that Jakub Kindl needs more practice time before he plays, with the Wings having added Ryan Sproul to their blue line for depth purposes in the meantime.

Wings' Kindl Questionable For Wednesday

News: Jakub Kindl (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Canadiens, MLive.com reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl sprained his MCL February 3, but was able to practice a few times over the Olympic break. Last week he was expected to be available for Wednesday's game, but now it sounds like his status is completely up in the air again. Red Wings GM Ken Holland added that if Kindl doesn't play Wednesday, he won't play Thursday against the Senators either.

Red Wings' Kindl Ready To Play Again

News: Jakub Kindl (lower body) is expected to be available when the Red Wings take the ice for their first game out of the break next week, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl missed the final two games before the Olympic break and was placed on injured reserve to free up some roster space. It doesn't appear the injury was too serious, however, and the added rest time during the break should allow him to return to the lineup right away without missing further action.

Red Wings' Kindl Listed On IR

News: Jakub Kindl (lower body) is listed on injured reserve.
Analysis: Jakub Kindl missed the final two games before the Olympic break with the lower-body injury, but there's still a good chance he'll be healthy by the time the Red Wings resume play in late February. His move to IR simply gave the Red Wings some more roster flexibility over those final two games.
