News: Tambellini has left the Canucks to play for Zurich of the Swiss League, according to The Vancouver Province. He signed a three-year deal.
Analysis: The Canucks lose yet another role player from their Western Conference championship squad. Tambellini finished tied for fifth on the team with 113 hits last season, while posting nine goals and eight assists over 62 games.

Canucks' Tambellini Expected To Hit Open Market

News: The Canucks are expected to let Tambellini hit the open market when free agency opens Friday, the Vancouver Sun reports.
Analysis: Tambellini totaled 17 points (9 G, 8 A) in 62 appearances with the Canucks last season. There's still a chance he returns to Vancouver, but the Canucks appear likely to explore other options for their bottom six before bringing back retreads.

Canucks' Tambellini Gets Game 7 Call

News: Tambellini will suit up for Wednesday's Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, according to the Canucks' official Twitter page.
Analysis: Tambellini's exact role Wednesday is uncertain, but he'll help fill the void created by the injury to Mason Raymond.

Opportunity Knocks For Canucks' Tambellini

News: With Mason Raymond injured, Tambellini figures to suit up for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Moreover, Tambellini could see work on the team's second line, where his speed could be an asset to the injury-sapped Canucks' player ranks.

Canucks' Tambellini Returns To Lineup

News: As expected, Tambellini skated with the fourth line in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Sharks.
Analysis: He finished minus-1 in seven minutes of ice time. The Canucks' fourth line sees limited action, so don't expect much production from Tambellini if he sticks in the lineup.

Canucks' Tambellini Expected To Return To Lineup

News: Tambellini is expected to play in Wednesday's Game 2 matchup against the Sharks, the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: Tambellini has appeared in just one game this postseason, but he appears poised to join Cody Hodgson and Victor Oreskovich on the Canucks' fourth line Wednesday night. His playing time will be limited, so don't expect much production from the 27-year-old winger.

Canucks' Tambellini Returning To Action Wednesday

News: Tambellini, who was a healthy scratch Tuesday night, is expected to return to action Wednesday against the Coyotes, the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: He will fill in on the fourth line for Aaron Volpatti, who suffered a rib injury Tuesday night. Tambellini will see a slight boost in value while Volpatti is out, but his long-term outlook isn't very bright.

Canucks' Tabellini Likely Demoted

News: Tambellini will likely drop to the fourth line for Thursday's game against the Rangers, according to TSN.ca.
Analysis: Assuming this is the case, he'll be on the bottom line with Tanner Glass and Aaron Volpatti. If that's not enough to encourage you to put Tambellini on your bench for a bit, remember he's pointless in seven straight games.

Tambellini Scores In Vancouver Win

News: Tambellini scored on a hard-working goal in the Canucks' 5-4 shootout win over visiting Anaheim on Wednesday.
Analysis: Tambellini also had a solid re-direct that just went wide, and simply looks ready to play everytime he jumps over the boards. With nine points (5G, 4A) in 12 games and skating with some offensive linemates, Tambellini makes for a good add in deeper leagues.

Canucks Recall Tambellini

News: The Canucks recalled Tambellini from Manitoba of the AHL on Tuesday, the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: Tambellini will get an immediate shot to make an impact with the Canucks, skating with Ryan Kesler and Mason Raymond on the second line Wednesday against the Avalanche. He has just 49 points (20 G, 29 A) in 189 NHL games, so expectations should be tempered, but Tambellini could be worth a look in deep formats if he's able to catch on.

Canucks Send Tambellini to Minors

News: The Canucks have sent Tambellini back to AHL Manitoba, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Tambellini notched three points (2 G, 1 A) through six games, but was no longer necessary with Alex Burrows back in the lineup.

Canucks' Tambellini Promoted to Second Line

News: Tambellini is expected to skate with Ryan Kesler and Jannik Hansen on the Canucks' second line Sunday, the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: While the promotion will give Tambellini a slight boost in value, there's little reason to get too excited about a player with only 18 career goals in 181 games.

Canucks' Tambellini Skates with Fourth Line

News: Tambellini skated with the fourth line in Monday's 2-1 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: He saw just 5:46 minutes of ice time while filling in for the injured Alex Bolduc (ankle). While it's nice to see Tambellini crack the Canucks' rotation, his playing time will be too limited for him to make a fantasy impact.

Tambellini Returns to Canucks

News: The Canucks recalled Tambellini on Friday, the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: Tambellini was waived and assigned to Manitoba of the AHL earlier this week. Now that the Canucks are done juggling their roster for salary cap purposes, the team had room to add Tambellini. He give the Canucks more depth, but Tambellini will likely spend his fair share of nights in the press box.

News: Tambellini was waived by the Canucks on Tuesday, the Vancouver Sun reports.
Analysis: If he clears waivers the team will likely send him down to the Manitoba Moose (AHL).

Canucks' Tambellini Making Case for Roster Spot

News: Tambellini netted a goal in Tuesday's 3-1 preseason win over the Sharks.
Analysis: Tambellini skated on the third and fourth lines Tuesday night. The 26-year-old winger is still fighting for a roster spot, but given his strong play in the preseason so far, he appears to be one of the favorites.

Canucks' Tambellini Auditioning for Top-Six Spot

News: Tambellini is among the candidates to assume Alex Burrows' (shoulder) spot in the top-six during the first month of the season, the Vancouver Sun reports.
Analysis: Tambellini is competing with Brendan Morrison and Cody Hodgson for the gig. None of the three players has done much to impress yet, so this battle may last until the end of the preseason. Tambellini would see a nice, albeit temporary, boost in value if he can nab the gig.

Canucks' Tambellini Vies for Third-Line Gig

News: Tambellini hopes to nab a spot on the Canucks' third line, the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: Vancouver's third line is expected to consist of Manny Malhotra, Raffi Torres and one other winger. The Canucks inked Tambellini to a two-way deal this offseason, so there's no guarantee he'll stick with the team all season. He has only managed 46 points in 180 NHL games, so there's not much upside here if he does land the gig.

Rare assist for Tambellini

News: Islanders LW Jeff Tambellini recorded an assist during Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Canucks. It was his first assist since Jan. 2. Tambellini missed Sunday's game due to a groin injury. He added two blocked shots and two assists while going 0 for 3 on faceoffs.
Analysis: Tambellini has played in only 29 games this season, scoring 7 goals and registering 7 assists. He has very little Fantasy value.

Tambellini out with groin injury

News: The Islanders recalled rookie winger Matt Martin from the AHL before Sunday's game against the Maple Leafs. Martin replaced LW Jeff Tambellini, who sat out with a strained groin.
Analysis: Tambellini has played just two games since the Olympic break and four times since February. The talented minor-league scorer has had only a few flashes of brilliance in the NHL and has mostly been a disappointing player. He doesn't even dress on a regular basis when healthy, so continue to keep him reserved in Fantasy.

Coach singles out Tambellini

News: The Sports Xchange reports Islanders C Jeff Tambellini made only his third lineup appearance since Dec. 9 on Thursday in Tampa Bay, replacing injured winger Josh Bailey. Despite playing in just 25 games this season, Tambellini is seventh on the Islanders with seven goals. "I think with Jeff it's playing a complete game, he's got to play in all three zones," coach Scott Gordon said. "Even though he's scored goals, three of them were in one game, and four in the remaining 20 isn't the kind of production he needs to have. We need production from someone like him and if it happens, it's going to make us a better team."
Analysis: This is nothing new. We have known all along that Tambellini's weakness has been playing a consistent game. We know from his minor-league days that he can score. He just hasn't done it on a consistent basis in the NHL. Tambellini has marginal Fantasy appeal until further notice.

Tambellini to finally end scratch streak

News: MSG Network reports that Islanders LW Jeff Tambellini will return to the lineup on Thursday after being a healthy scratch for more than a month straight.
Analysis: The Islanders just haven't had any use for Tambellini's skills recently, and Fantasy owners who picked him up following a hot run in late October have been left empty-handed. Continue to ignore Tambellini in all but the deepest of formats.

Tambellini scratched vs. Devils

News: Islanders LW Jeff Tambellini was a healthy scratch on Monday against the Devils. He has not played since Jan. 2 and has been in the press box for six games.
Analysis: Tambellini does have three assists in his last four appearances, however, he hasn't scored since Nov. 23, a span of nine games. His inconsistency on offense has been frustrating for coach Scott Gordon, and with New York in the playoff hunt without Tambellini, who knows how much of the young forward we will see down the stretch. Ignore him in Fantasy until further notice.

Tambellini draws back in Tuesday

News: The Sports Xchange reports LW Jeff Tambellini is still the Islanders' fourth-leading goal scorer this season (seven goals) despite netting just one goal and playing sporadically since his hat trick on Halloween. Tambellini got back into the lineup Tuesday against Columbus, after sitting out the previous nine games as a healthy scratch, because of a shoulder injury suffered by fourth-liner Nate Thompson.
Analysis: We all figured Tambellini was ready to go on a breakout run after his Halloween hat trick and put behind him his scoring woes since coming up to the NHL. However, Tambellini is still proving to be an inconsistent skater. Leave him out of active Fantasy lineups until further notice.

Tambellini has 1st goal in November

News: Islanders LW Jeff Tambellini scored a goal and finished minus-1 during Monday's game against the Maple Leafs. Tambellini took a nice breakaway pass from Mark Streit and beat Vesa Toskala high for the first goal of the game 11:04 into the second period. It was his first goal since recording a hat trick on Oct. 31.
Analysis: Tambellini has been a healthy scratch at times since his hat trick since coach Scott Gordon is still trying to get the most out of the left winger. He knows Tambellini can help the offense, but he just isn't doing it on a regular basis. Tambellini has low-end Fantasy appeal until further notice.
