Blues Trade Mancari To Florida For Selleck

News: The Blues traded Mark Mancari to the Panthers on Sunday for Eric Selleck, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Now 28, Mark Mancari hasn't appeared at the NHL level since 2011-12, but at least provides the Panthers with a more offensively-minded wing option. Mancari may remain at the AHL level for now, but the Panthers rank 28th in the league in points and could end up promoting Mancari.

Sabres Bring In Mancari

News: Mark Mancari has signed a one-year deal with the Sabres, the team's official Twitter page reports.
Analysis: Mark Mancari, who will turn 27 on Tuesday, didn't record a point in six games with the Canucks last season. He did, however, record 58 points (30G, 28A) in 69 games with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.

Canucks Re-Assign Mancari

News: The Canucks re-assigned Mark Mancari to Chicago of the AHL on Tuesday, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: With Chris Higgins back from a hand injury, Mark Mancari's services were no longer needed. He'll be one of the Canucks first options if forward depth is needed later this season.

Canucks Recall Mancari

News: Mark Mancari has been recalled by the Canucks, the club's official site reports.
Analysis: Mark Mancari will assume the same position he held before being sent down December 22. As such, that likely means fewer than 10 minutes of ice time per game, and not much from a fantasy perspective.

Canucks Assign Mancari To AHL Chicago

News: The Canucks assigned Mark Mancari to AHL Chicago on Thursday, according to the team's official Twitter page.
Analysis: Mark Mancari played in three games after being recalled on an emergency basis Dec. 15. He did not record a point with the Canucks, but with 21 (10G, 11A) in 24 games with Chicago, he'll be among the top options next time the Canucks need to add a forward.

Canucks Recall Mancari

News: Vancouver recalled Mark Mancari on an emergency basis prior to Thursday's loss to the Hurricanes, the Canucks' official site reports.
Analysis: Mark Mancari was recalled after the Canucks learned Daniel Sedin would miss Thursday's game with a back injury. It's still unclear how long Sedin will be sidelined, but Mancari probably won't stick around long enough to make much of an impact.

Canucks Assign Mancari To AHL

News: The Canucks assigned Mark Mancari to Chicago of the AHL on Friday, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Considering the Canucks inked Mark Mancari to a one-way deal in the summer, this comes as quite the surprise. The 26-year-old winger will have to pass through waivers before joining the Wolves.

Canucks Land Mancari

News: Mancari agreed to terms with Vancouver on Friday, according to Darren Dreger of TSN.
Analysis: Most importantly for Mancari it is a one-way contract, meaning he will not have to toil in the AHL for another year. He dominated with Buffalo's AHL affiliate in Portland over the last three seasons and is getting the chance he has worked so hard for.

Mancari Will Explore His Options

News: It does not appear that the Sabres plan to bring Mancari back, and the 26-year-old will look for a team that will give him a legitimate shot at making their NHL roster, and staying there.
Analysis: A one-way contract would be the best case scenario for Mancari, but seems unlikely despite him averaging nearly 30 goals a season over the past three years with Buffalo's AHL affiliate in Portland.

Sabres' Mancari Practices With Big Club

News: Mancari practiced with the Sabres on Tuesday after being recalled from AHL Portland, The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Whether or not Mancari actually sees his first NHL game could depend on the health of fellow winger Patrick Kaleta (upper body), who "vows" to return for Game 4 on Wednesday.

Mancari With Sabres On Emergency Basis

News: Mancari has been recalled to the Sabres roster on an emergency basis for Tuesday's game against the Leafs, according to The Buffalo News.
Analysis: Buffalo's Nathan Gerbe was not with the team on Monday for personal reasons, so Mancari is skating with the team and can only dress in the situation where Gerbe is not ready to go on Tuesday night.

Sabres Send Mancari To Portland

News: Buffalo re-assigned Mancari to their AHL affiliate in Portland before Saturday night's game against the Devils, according to the Sabres official Twitter.
Analysis: While Mancari has officially been taken off the roster, he is still with the Sabres according to some reports and could very well be back with the club if anybody gets hurt on Saturday night.

Sabres Scratch Mancari

News: Mancari won't play Saturday against New Jersey, Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: He's the odd man out Saturday, with Jochen Hecht back in the mix for Buffalo.

Sabres' Mancari: Three-Point Night

News: Mancari had a goal and two assists in Saturday's 8-2 rout of Atlanta.
Analysis: Two of his points -- the goal and one assist -- came with the man advantage. He has four points in his last three games but don't expect this kind of output going forward. Those four points are almost half of his career total of nine which have been accumulated in bit service over four seasons. You get the picture. Still, it's a nice effort.

Sabres Recall Mancari

News: The Sabres have recalled Mancari from AHL Portland, the team's official Twitter reports.
Analysis: In five games with the Sabres this season, Mancari has tallied one assist and two PIMs. He's up for depth with Buffalo having several day-to-day forwards right now, and could see time on the third or fourth line Thursday at Boston.

Sabres Demote Mancari

News: The Sabres have sent Mancari to AHL Portland, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Mancari, who has picked up an assist in five games with the big club this season, figures to be back at some point down the road when the Sabres are looking for some depth up front.

Sabres Recall Mancari

News: Buffalo recalled Mancari from its AHL affiliate in Portland on Saturday, The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Mancari is having a tremendous season in Portland, with 32 goals and 32 assists in 56 games. He figures to stay up and play until Jochen Hecht returns from an upper-body injury.

Sabres' Mancari Named AHL Player Of The Week

News: Mancari was named the AHL's Player of the Week for the week-ending Jan. 23, according to Sabres.com.
Analysis: Mancari had an unbelievable week, featuring back-to-back hat tricks on Saturday and Sunday. Overall he had eight goals and two assists while putting up a plus-7 in four games. It remains a mystery why he hasn't gotten a more legitimate shot with the big club.

Sabres' Mancari Sent Back To Portland

News: Mancari is headed back to the Sabres' AHL affiliate in Portland, according to The Buffalo News.
Analysis: Mancari is getting very familiar with Interstate 90 after a week that has seen him get recalled, sent down, recalled and now sent down again.

Mancari Will Dress Thursday Night for Sabres

News: Mancari will suit up for the Sabres again on Thursday night again San Jose, according to The Buffalo News.

Sabres Recall Mancari

News: Mancari was recalled from Portland of the AHL and will dress for Tuesday night's game against Boston, according to The Buffalo News.
Analysis: Mancari has 12 goals and 14 assists in 23 games in Portland, and if anything, he should have been recalled sooner.

Mancari Lighting it Up for Sabres' AHL Affiliate

News: Mancari has two goals and three assists in two games for Buffalo's AHL affiliate in Portland.
Analysis: It has been a mystery why the Sabres have never given Mancari a more legitimate look with the big club. He is perpetually in the 70-point range every season in Portland, and in most organizations he would have gotten more of a look than he has gotten with the Sabres organization. Maybe this is the year?

Mancari signed, sent to AHL

News: The Buffalo Sabres signed restricted free agent forward Mark Mancari to a one-year contract Saturday. Financial details of the deal were not released. The Sabres assigned the 6-foot-3, 225-pound Mancari to the Portland Pirates of the AHL, pending waivers.
Analysis: Mancari led the Pirates in scoring last season with 29 goals and 38 assists in 73 games. The Sabres' seventh-round choice, 207th overall, in the 2004 entry draft, had a goal and an assist in seven NHL games last season. He is nothing more than organizational depth and can be ignored in Fantasy.

Mancari making nice early impression

News: The Buffalo News reports that RW Mark Mancari, who was called up on Friday from the minors, was Buffalo’s best forward in two games over the weekend. He had 12 shots and put together almost 32 minutes of ice time and nearly six minutes on the power play. “He’s a big body with a great shot who can get pucks to the net,” coach Lindy Ruff said. “He’ll go to the front of the net and hang tough and he’s been good on their power play. With Ales (Kotalik) and Tim (Connolly) out, it’s a weapon we can try to utilize.”
Analysis: Mancari has 181 points in 229 AHL games, so it's clear there is some potential here. Mancari, who has a wicked slap shot, had not played in the NHL since 2006-07 before this weekend and is nothing more than organizational depth. He can be ignored in Fantasy for the time being.

Buffalo make roster moves Friday

News: Top Sabres prospects Nathan Gerbe and Tim Kennedy were among the six players Buffalo assigned to Portland of the AHL on Friday. The team also placed forwards Mathieu Darche and Mark Mancari on waivers for the purpose of assignment to Portland. Forwards Dylan Hunter and Marek Zagrapan, and defensemen Chris Butler and Michael Funk were also sent to Portland.
Analysis: Most of these players are just organizational depth and can be ignored in Fantasy at this time. If anything changes, we will let you know.
