Canucks' Hansen Stays Hot In Loss

News: Jannik Hansen potted his 12th goal of the season in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Sabres.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen has remained confined largely to a bottom-six role this season, but with rapidly improving rookie Bo Horvat by his side, his production has begun to take off lately. The winger has picked up at least a point in seven of his last eight games, accumulating two goals and six assists during that stretch. He's unlikely to gain universal fantasy appeal anytime soon, but Hansen might make for an attractive pickup in deeper formats.

Hansen Gets Two Points For Canucks

News: Jannik Hansen gathered two assists, two PIM and a plus-1 rating Thursday in a shootout win over the Rangers.
Analysis: He's now run off a four-game point streak on the heels of a nine-game run without registering on the scoresheet. Nonetheless, the Danish winger remains a lower-end option best utilized in deep formats.

Canucks' Hansen Dishes Out Assist In Loss

News: Jannik Hansen recorded a point for the second straight game Saturday, dishing out an assist in a loss to Calgary.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen is having himself a decent season, recording 11 goals and 20 points in 54 games. Although he's skating on the fourth line, he's clicking with youngster Bo Horvat and is worth owning in some deeper formats. Hansen is well on his way to a 15-goal, 30-point season.

Canucks' Hansen Nets 10th Goal

News: Jannik Hansen potted his 10th goal of the season in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Flyers.
Analysis: By the standards of a bottom-six forward, Jannik Hansen has fared quite well this season, as his goal total trails only Radim Vrbata on the team. However, he's accomplished the feat by shooting an unusually high 15.6 percent -- a rate five points above his career mark. Expect that rate to dip a bit in the second half, with his goals following suit.

Canucks' Hansen Fined For Illegal Check

News: Jannik Hansen was fined $5,000 by the NHL's Department of Player Safety for a hit to the head of San Jose forward Tommy Wingels in Tuesday's game.
Analysis: Fantasy owners can breathe a sigh of relief, as Jannik Hansen won't miss any games. The speedy Dane had one of his best games of the season Tuesday, netting the game-winning goal and firing four shots on goal against the Sharks. The 28-year-old has recorded one goal and four points in his last six games, putting him on track for a 21-goal season. Skating on a line with Alex Burrows, Hansen is worth a look right now in deeper formats.

Canucks' Hansen Nets Game-Winner

News: Jannik Hansen netted the game-winning goal in Tuesday's 3-1 triumph over the Sharks.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen came right out of the penalty box for an illegal check to the head to lift the Canucks to a 2-0 lead. While Hansen could be in line for discipline after the Sharks' Tommy Wingels was forced to temporarily leave the game following the check, fantasy owners who rolled with Hansen in their lineups Tuesday can't be too upset. The winger would finish the night with four shots on goal, tying his highest total of the season.

Canucks Clear Hansen To Play

News: Jannik Hansen (undisclosed) was cleared to resume playing Tuesday after his latest test results came back normal.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen was removed from Saturday's game against the Flames after collapsing on the bench. He was initially deemed fine after he was examined at a local hospital, but the Canucks opted to hold him out of Monday's contest versus the Coyotes as a precaution. With everything checking out fine a day later, it looks like Hansen will have nothing to worry about on the health front, a welcome development following what had been a scary incident. Look for him to get back in the lineup when the Canucks resume play Sunday in Anaheim.

Canucks' Hansen (Undisclosed) Now Ruled Out Monday

News: Jannik Hansen (undisclosed) will ultimately not play in Monday's game against the Coyotes despite getting the initial go-ahead earlier in the day, Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province reports.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen collapsed on the bench during Saturday's game against the Flames but cleared his medical tests and was allowed to play Monday. However, the Canucks don't play again until Sunday, so they are choosing to give Hansen some added rest just in case.

Hansen (Undisclosed) Expected To Play Monday

News: Coach Willie Desjardins indicated Jannik Hansen (undisclosed) should be able to play Monday against the Coyotes.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen collapsed on the bench in the second period of Sunday's game. He and spent the night in the hospital and didn't skate Sunday morning, both for precautionary reasons. However, it appears as though the reasoning behind the collapse was minor, and he should be fine moving forward.

Canucks' Hansen OK After Collapse

News: After collapsing on the bench in the second period of Saturday's game against the Flames, Jannik Hansen was deemed okay after being checked out at a local hospital.
Analysis: This is good to hear after what was a scary incident. However, we still don't know exactly what caused the collapse or whether Jannik Hansen will be available for Monday's home matchup against Arizona. For now, he is considered day-to-day.

Canucks' Hansen Collapses On Bench

News: Jannik Hansen left Saturday's game against the Flames after collapsing briefly on the bench shortly after taking a hit early in the second period, NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen was conscious and on his feet just a few moments later, but it was obviously a scary incident. He was helped to the locker room by the team's medical staff and remained in the dressing room for observation. We'll have more details as they become available.

Canucks' Hansen Collects Assist In Win

News: Jannik Hansen picked up an assist in Thursday's win over the Penguins.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen is now up to 11 points (eight goals) in 26 games, to go with an even plus-minus. Although he is skating on the fourth line, the Canucks' have had a very balanced offensive attack thus far, getting plenty of contributions from their bottom-six. Hansen is on pace to score 25 goals and should be looked at in deeper formats.

Hansen's Hat Trick Helps Canucks Defeat 'Hawks

News: Jannik Hansen recorded his first career hat trick in Sunday's win over the Blackhawks.
Analysis: We'll take whatever Jannik Hansen has been having lately. The Great Dane is red-hot, riding a three-game goal-scoring streak in which he has recorded five goals and a plus-4 rating. The fourth-liner is now up to eight goals in 21 games this season, making him worth a look in some deeper formats. Hansen won't keep this goal-scoring pace up and isn't a big point producer, but he could get you 20 goals.

Canucks' Hansen Scores Shorthanded In Win

News: Jannik Hansen opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal in Wednesday's win over Edmonton.
Analysis: It was the fourth goal of the season for Jannik Hansen, who used his speed to break in on a breakaway and beat Ben Scrivens. While he does have four goals, Hansen has only managed five points in 19 games this season, putting him on pace to barely break the 20-point barrier. Considering he is playing on the fourth line and seeing no power-play time, don't expect much offense from Hansen.

Canucks' Hansen Gets First Point

News: Jannik Hansen claimed his first point of the season Tuesday versus the Stars, tallying a third-period goal in a 6-3 loss.
Analysis: After occasionally seeing time in the Canucks' top-six forward group in 2013-14, Jannik Hansen appears destined for a lesser role this season. He's primarily served on the Canucks' fourth line over his five games, averaging only 10:10 of ice time.

Canucks' Hansen Scores First Preseason Goal

News: Jannik Hansen scored his first goal of the preseason in Friday's win over the Flames.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen's goal came on the power play, where he blasted home a rocket from the point after some nice passing from Henrik and Daniel Sedin. Hansen manged only 20 points (11 goals) in 71 games last season, posting a career-worst minus-9 rating in the process. Hansen, who has never hit 40 points in his career, is likely to start the season on Vancouver's third line, making him unappealing to fantasy goers in shallower formats. He could provide value in some deeper leagues, but don't bet on more than 15 goals.

Canucks' Hansen Scores Shorthanded In Loss

News: Jannik Hansen scored a shorthanded goal in Monday's loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen now has three points in his last five games, giving him 11 goals and eight assists in 61 games on the season. He is currently skating on the second line, meaning there will continue to be opportunities for the speedy winger to get on the scoresheet.

Canucks' Hansen Tallies Assist In Win

News: Jannik Hansen racked up an assist in Wednesday's shootout win over Winnipeg.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen has struggled to provide offense as of late, tallying only five points in his past 23 games. He does have a point in back-to-back games now, but with linemate Ryan Kesler (knee) out for the remaining three games of the Canucks' road trip, don't expect Hansen's pace to continue. He is currently getting top-six minutes due to injuries, but don't set your expectations too high, as Hansen has never been known for putting up big numbers.

Canucks' Hansen Scores Game Winner

News: Jannik Hansen netted the game's only goal in a 1-0 win Wednesday against the Blues. It was his first point in eight games.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen's third period tally lifted the Canucks to victory as the Blues were unable to solve Eddie Lack. Hansen now has 10 goals and five assists in 51 games this season.

Canucks' Hansen Snipes Ninth Of Season

News: Jannik Hansen ended an seven-game scoring drought on Sunday, scoring his ninth goal of the season in a win over Phoenix.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen had been ice cold prior to Sunday, going pointless and collecting only 11 shots on goal during a seven-game drought. Because Hansen had 27 points in 47 games in last year's shortened season, it's quite disappointing he has only managed 14 points in 43 games so far this time around.

Canucks' Hansen Heads To Sin Bin Wednesday

News: Jannik Hansen was held scoreless in Wednesday's 9-1 loss to the Ducks, but did finish with 17 penalty minutes.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen was one of three Canucks skaters ejected in the third period following a 10-minute misconduct penalty, to which he added a five-minute major for fighting and a two-minute instigator penalty. The forward isn't typically known for his brutish antics, but with the game well out of hand in the third period, Hansen and several other Canucks chose to resort to such tactics. The penalties in Wednesday's game just about doubled Hansen's total time in the box for the previous 37 games combined.

Canucks' Hansen Cooling Down After Hot December

News: After scoring five goals in the last nine games of December, Jannik Hansen has begun the new year cold, going pointless in his first three games of January.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen was red-hot in December, but appears to have cooled off in January. He only has 12 points in 34 games this season, and his lack of power-play time is a prime reason why he is still yet to record a point with the man advantage this season. He is currently playing with the Sedin twins though, meaning he should start to put up more numbers.

Canucks' Hansen Nets Seventh Of Season

News: Jannik Hansen scored his seventh goal of the season in Sunday's win over Calgary.
Analysis: After opening the month of December with five points in his first eight games, Jannik Hansen has cooled off as of late, tallying only one point over his past four games. Hansen is currently playing with the Sedin twins though, meaning he is bound to get more opportunities to find twine. In addition to his goal on Sunday, Hansen also finished the night with two hits and three shots on goal.
