Canucks' Hansen Scores First Preseason Goal

News: Jannik Hansen scored his first goal of the preseason in Friday's win over the Flames.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen's goal came on the power play, where he blasted home a rocket from the point after some nice passing from Henrik and Daniel Sedin. Hansen manged only 20 points (11 goals) in 71 games last season, posting a career-worst minus-9 rating in the process. Hansen, who has never hit 40 points in his career, is likely to start the season on Vancouver's third line, making him unappealing to fantasy goers in shallower formats. He could provide value in some deeper leagues, but don't bet on more than 15 goals.

Canucks' Hansen Scores Shorthanded In Loss

News: Jannik Hansen scored a shorthanded goal in Monday's loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen now has three points in his last five games, giving him 11 goals and eight assists in 61 games on the season. He is currently skating on the second line, meaning there will continue to be opportunities for the speedy winger to get on the scoresheet.

Canucks' Hansen Tallies Assist In Win

News: Jannik Hansen racked up an assist in Wednesday's shootout win over Winnipeg.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen has struggled to provide offense as of late, tallying only five points in his past 23 games. He does have a point in back-to-back games now, but with linemate Ryan Kesler (knee) out for the remaining three games of the Canucks' road trip, don't expect Hansen's pace to continue. He is currently getting top-six minutes due to injuries, but don't set your expectations too high, as Hansen has never been known for putting up big numbers.

Canucks' Hansen Scores Game Winner

News: Jannik Hansen netted the game's only goal in a 1-0 win Wednesday against the Blues. It was his first point in eight games.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen's third period tally lifted the Canucks to victory as the Blues were unable to solve Eddie Lack. Hansen now has 10 goals and five assists in 51 games this season.

Canucks' Hansen Snipes Ninth Of Season

News: Jannik Hansen ended an seven-game scoring drought on Sunday, scoring his ninth goal of the season in a win over Phoenix.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen had been ice cold prior to Sunday, going pointless and collecting only 11 shots on goal during a seven-game drought. Because Hansen had 27 points in 47 games in last year's shortened season, it's quite disappointing he has only managed 14 points in 43 games so far this time around.

Canucks' Hansen Heads To Sin Bin Wednesday

News: Jannik Hansen was held scoreless in Wednesday's 9-1 loss to the Ducks, but did finish with 17 penalty minutes.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen was one of three Canucks skaters ejected in the third period following a 10-minute misconduct penalty, to which he added a five-minute major for fighting and a two-minute instigator penalty. The forward isn't typically known for his brutish antics, but with the game well out of hand in the third period, Hansen and several other Canucks chose to resort to such tactics. The penalties in Wednesday's game just about doubled Hansen's total time in the box for the previous 37 games combined.

Canucks' Hansen Cooling Down After Hot December

News: After scoring five goals in the last nine games of December, Jannik Hansen has begun the new year cold, going pointless in his first three games of January.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen was red-hot in December, but appears to have cooled off in January. He only has 12 points in 34 games this season, and his lack of power-play time is a prime reason why he is still yet to record a point with the man advantage this season. He is currently playing with the Sedin twins though, meaning he should start to put up more numbers.

Canucks' Hansen Scores For Second Straight Game

News: Jannik Hansen scored for the second straight game in Monday's loss to Philadelphia.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen now has eight goals and 12 points in 31 games on the season. He is starting to mesh with the Sedins on the top line. Take full advantage.

Canucks' Hansen Nets Seventh Of Season

News: Jannik Hansen scored his seventh goal of the season in Sunday's win over Calgary.
Analysis: After opening the month of December with five points in his first eight games, Jannik Hansen has cooled off as of late, tallying only one point over his past four games. Hansen is currently playing with the Sedin twins though, meaning he is bound to get more opportunities to find twine. In addition to his goal on Sunday, Hansen also finished the night with two hits and three shots on goal.

Canucks' Hansen Scores Again

News: Jannik Hansen scored for the second straight game Tuesday. He has now picked up a goal in three of his past four games.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen is currently skating on the top line with the Sedin twins and it couldn't be going any better. With Alexandre Burrows out with a broken jaw, expect Hansen to continue to produce on the top line in Vancouver. He is definitely worth a look while Burrows is out, at least in deeper formats.

Canucks' Hansen Starting To Score Again

News: Jannik Hansen scored the opening goal in Saturday's 6-2 romping over Boston. He now has two goals over his past three games.
Analysis: His goal on Saturday was a fluke from center ice, but a goal is a goal when it comes to fantasy hockey. He has been disappointing this season in terms of fantasy production with only nine points in 25 games on the year. He is looking better though and is getting looks on the top line with the Sedin twins. He may be of value in deeper formats.

Canucks' Hansen Ends Five-Game Drought

News: Jannik Hansen collected an assist -- his first point in five games -- in a win over the Hurricanes on Sunday.
Analysis: It's nice to see Jannik Hansen back on the score sheet, but his fantasy owners have reason for concern. Hansen only played 11:13 on Sunday and only has five points on the season. He may be useful in deeper leagues, but likely won't get it done for you in shallower formats.

Canucks' Hansen Scores First Goal Since Returning From Injury

News: Jannik Hansen scored his third goal of the season in a 3-2 loss to Florida on Tuesday. It was his first point since returning from an arm injury.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen has only played 13 games this season due to an arm injury, and has collected 5 points in that span. He only played 12:55 in Tuesday's loss and saw under 30 seconds of power-play time. He will never put up massive offensive numbers, but we were still expecting more from Hansen this campaign. There is still time for him to get going, especially if he gets an opportunity with the Sedin twins.

Canucks' Hansen Returns To Action

News: Jannik Hansen returned to action Sunday, failing to register a point or shot on goal in a 2-1 loss to the Stars.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen saw 14:50 of ice time Sunday and even played with the Sedins at one point. Hansen had missed the past 10 games with an arm injury. He has struggled offensively this season with only four points in 12 games. Wait until he appears more comfortable, before considering picking him up. He has potential to put up points if he lands a top-six role.

Canucks' Hansen Expected To Play Sunday

News: Jannik Hansen (arm) is expected to return to action Sunday vs. the Stars, Daniel Wagner of the Vancouver Sun reports.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen was present during Saturday's morning skate, joining Ryan Kesler and Chris Higgins on the second line. The addition of Hansen shakes up the Canucks' top-six a bit, as Kesler previously enjoyed top-line billing alongside the Sedin twins. The team has managed just one goal in the each of the last three games, so perhaps Hansen's arrival will help break the offense out of its slump.

Canucks' Hansen Rejoins Team, Won't Play Thursday

News: Jannik Hansen (arm) has rejoined the team but will not play Thursday against the Sharks.
Analysis: When Jannik Hansen went down with an arm injury late last month, the expectation was that he'd miss up to a month. He's close to three weeks into his recovery now, and will be eligible to come off long-term IR prior to Sunday's game.

Canucks' Hansen To Miss 3-4 Weeks

News: Jannik Hansen will be out 3-4 weeks with an arm injury.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen was placed on IR last week and was initially only expected to miss about three games, but now it sounds like he could be out almost a month. He'll rehab and try to return some time in November to help contribute to the Vancouver forward corps, which is taking a beating with injuries lately.

Canucks Place Hansen On IR

News: Jannik Hansen was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
Analysis: The move guarantees that Jannik Hansen will miss at least the next three games due to the arm injury he suffered Tuesday night. Hansen was set to undergo an evaluation on the arm in Vancouver on Wednesday, but no results of that exam have been revealed as of yet.

Canucks' Hansen Returns Home For Injury Evaluation

News: Jannik Hansen has returned to Vancouver for further evaluation on the arm injury he sustained in Tuesday's game, Brad Ziemer of the Vancouver Sun reports.
Analysis: With Jannik Hansen headed back home, it seems unlikely that he'll suit up for the Canucks while the team remains on the road Thursday in New Jersey and Friday in St. Louis. The team offered no timetable for his return to the ice, but an update should be available following his evaluation.

Canucks' Hansen Leaves Tuesday With Injury

News: Jannik Hansen left Tuesday's game with an apparent right arm injury, the Vancouver Province's Jason Botchford reports.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen saw just 4:41 of ice time before leaving with what may have been a shoulder injury. The Canucks should provide an update on his status after the game.

Canucks' Hansen Has Gone AWOL

News: Jannik Hansen has only one point over his past seven games and is a minus-3 on the season.
Analysis: It's sometimes hard to spot Jannik Hansen on the ice as he has been a complete non-factor as of late. He is no longer playing with the twins, which means he has lost a lot of fantasy value. He is currently playing on the second line but might get demoted further once Alexandre Burrows returns. Hansen has never topped 40 points before so it's hard to imagine him breaking that barrier this season.

Canucks' Hansen Scores In Consecutive Games

News: Jannik Hansen scored for the second straight game as the Canucks defeated the Flames in overtime on Sunday.
Analysis: He continues to produce playing with the twins and is definitely worth a look while Alexandre Burrows is out. He was a sleeper heading into this season but this gig with the twins makes him even more appealing. His minus-2 rating Sunday is disappointing but that isn't typical from the two-way forward. Give him a look if he's available as he could stick on the top two lines this season.

Canucks' Hansen Tallies Goal On Top Line

News: Jannik Hansen scored his first goal of the season, collected six penalty minutes, and dished out four hits in Vancouver's 6-2 win over the Oilers Saturday evening.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen skated on the top line Saturday and his goal came as a result of a beautiful passing play by the Sedin brothers. Alexandre Burrows will be out two weeks due to injury and Hansen appears to be his replacement on the top line. Hansen is worth a look while he is skating on the top unit as he is primed to produce.

Canucks' Hansen Inks Four-Year Extension

News: Jannik Hansen signed a four-year, $10 million extension with the Canucks on Sunday, ESPN's Pierre LeBrun reports.
Analysis: By inking the versatile wing to a $2.5 million-per-year contract, the Canucks lock up the Jannik Hansen before he hits free agency. With both the Sedin twins in the last season of their current contracts, Hansen, 27, could assume a top-line role for a good portion of the four-year deal.

Canucks' Hansen Pots Game-Winning Goal

News: Jannik Hansen scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Vancouver's 6-1 romping over the Coyotes Monday night.
Analysis: The speedy winger is a great depth winger for Vancouver and is worth a look in deep fantasy leagues. He skated on the top line with the Sedins Monday and could potentially start the season there due to the suspension to Zack Kassian.
