Wild's Dubnyk Inks Six-Year Contract

News: Devan Dubnyk signed a six-year, $25 million contract with Minnesota on Saturday, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: The contract favors both parties, as Devan Dubnyk gains the security he was looking for with the length of the contract, and the Wild gain the goaltending consistency they have been looking for for years at a reasonable rate. Dubnyk had a phenomenal season after being traded to the Wild in January. He went 27-9-2 with a 1.78 GAA and a .936 save percentage in 39 games with Minnesota. That performance was enough to propel Dubnyk to Vezina Trophy finalist status in 2014-15, although it was a foregone conclusion that Carey Price would take home the award this year. Dubnyk will be a centerpiece of Minnesota's organization for years to come, and will be a top fantasy option on a defensively sound team for the foreseeable future.

Wild, Dubnyk Close To Extension

News: Devan Dubnyk is close to a contract extension with the Wild, reports Bob McKenzie of TSN.
Analysis: The report is a probable six-year deal at more than $4 million per year. It's "not done," but close.

Cinderella Story Ends for Dubnyk, Wild

News: Devan Dubnyk's magical run since joining Minnesota came to an end Thursday in Game 4 against Chicago, as he allowed three goals on 24 shots in a season-ending loss.
Analysis: As much winning as Devan Dubnyk did after joining the Wild, he couldn't steal a single victory away from the Blackhawks, who rolled to a four-game sweep. In fact, his dominance in the regular season was generally left behind in the regular season, as Dubnyk went just 4-6 with a 2.52 GAA and .908 save percentage in the playoffs -- well short of the spectacular play he put up after coming to Minnesota at the trade deadline. Nonetheless, he projects to be the Wild's starting goalie next season.

Wild's Dubnyk To Draw The Start Thursday

News: Devan Dubnyk will start Game 4 against Chicago on Thursday.
Analysis: Devan Dubnyk turned in a strong outing in Game 3, allowing one goal on 22 shots faced, but the Wild ended up falling to the Blackhawks, 1-0. He will be in net again Thursday as the Wild try to extend the series.

Wild's Dubnyk Going For Game 3

News: Devan Dubnyk will be between the pipes for Tuesday's Game 3 against the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Devan Dubnyk has hardly looked sharp in the first two games of the series, stopping just 58 of 65 shots (.892 save percentage). With the Wild now down 2-0 as the series shifts to Minnesota, the team will need the Masterson Trophy nominee to come up huge to keep their playoff hopes alive. During 20 regular-season starts at the Xcel Energy Center, Dubnyk went 12-7-1 with a 2.01 GAA and .922 save percentage.

Dubnyk Bounces Back, But Wild Drop Game 3

News: Devan Dubnyk allowed just one goal on 22 shots Tuesday in Game 3 against Chicago, but it was one too many in a 1-0 loss.
Analysis: Dubs bounced back admirably after allowing seven goals in the first two games of the series, shutting things down completely after Patrick Kane tallied on a first-period power play, but his teammates couldn't get one past Corey Crawford. Now the Wild have their backs to the wall, down 3-0 in the series heading into Thursday's Game 4. Devan Dubnyk will almost certainly be in net for that one as he looks to avoid the end of what's been a breakout season.

Wild's Dubnyk Saves 27 In Loss

News: Devan Dubnyk stopped 27 of 30 shots in Sunday's Game 2 loss to the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Devan Dubnyk is not solely to blame for the loss as the offense in front of him mustered just one goal, but he's now allowed seven goals in the two games against the Blackhawks. While he had some great outings against the Blues in the first round, Dubnyk's playoff production overall hasn't been able to match his stellar regular season as he's sporting a .906 save percentage compared to his .936 mark after joining the Wild.

Wild Turn To Dubnyk On Sunday

News: Devan Dubnyk is slated to start Sunday's game against the Hawks.
Analysis: Devan Dubnyk, who stopped 31 of 35 shots in Friday's 4-3 loss to Chicago, will look to get back on the winning track in Game 2 of the team's second-round series on Sunday. During the regular season, the Vezina Trophy finalist logged a 27-9-2 record in 39 appearances in a Minnesota uniform, to go along with a 1.78 GAA and .936 save percentage.

Wild's Dubnyk Stops 31 Shots In Game 1 Loss

News: Devan Dubnyk turned away 31 of 35 shots in Friday's Game 1 loss to the Blackhawks.
Analysis: While he finished strong, it wasn't a good start for Devan Dubnyk, who was torched for three goals in the first period. Aside from a six-goal meltdown against the Blues in Game 4, Dubnyk has looked solid this postseason, posting a .908 save percentage. The 28-year-old, who posted a whopping .929 save percentage in the regular season, will need to be at his very best if Minnesota hopes to advance past Chicago in Round 2.

Wild's Dubnyk Will Start On Friday

News: Devan Dubnyk will be between the pipes in Friday's Game 1 against Chicago, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
Analysis: Devan Dubnyk, despite his performance in Game 4, was great in the Wild's first round series against the Blues, posting a .913 save percentage and a 2.32 GAA through six games. He was phenomenal in the Wild's series clinching Game 6 win over St. Louis, turning away 30 of the 31 shots he faced. If he can continue that sort of play in Round 2 against Chicago, the Wild will have a legitimate chance at moving on to the Western Conference Final.

Wild's Dubnyk Makes 30 Saves In Game 6 Win

News: Devan Dubnyk stopped 30 of 31 shots in Sunday's series-clinching Game 6 win over the Blues.
Analysis: A fantastic performance from Devan Dubnyk, who has been outstanding in back-to-back games after getting lit up for six goals in Game 4. The 28-year-old finished the first round with a .913 save percentage, 2.32 GAA and one shutout. If Dubnyk, who registered an impressive .929 save percentage in the regular season , can carry his terrific play from Games 5 and 6 of Round 1 into Round 2, the Wild could have a chance to get past the Blackhawks.

Wild's Dubnyk In Net For Game 6

News: Devan Dubnyk will start in net for Sunday's Game 6 matchup with the Blues.
Analysis: Devan Dubnyk stopped 36 of the 37 shots he faced in Game 5 on Friday en route to a 4-1 victory over the Blues. He'll lead the club onto the ice Sunday as well as the Wild look to close out the Blues.

Wild, Dubnyk Bounce Back In Game 5

News: Devan Dubnyk turned away 36 of 37 shots to lift the Wild to a 4-1 victory in Friday's Game 5.
Analysis: Devan Dubnyk recovered well from one of his poorest performances of the season in Game 4 by capturing the game's first star Friday and aiding the Wild to a 3-2 series advantage. Though Blues star Vladimir Tarasenko gave his squad an early lead, the Wild answered three minutes later in the first period and then watched as Dubnyk bricked up the net the rest of the way. The Vezina Trophy finalist has now compiled a 2.61 GAA and .898save percentage during the first-round series.

Wild's Dubnyk Will Start Friday

News: Devan Dubnyk will be between the pipes for Friday's Game 5 Against the Blues, NHL.com's Mike Doyle reports.
Analysis: Despite his disastrous performance in Game 4, in which he allowed six goals on just 17 shots, Devan Dubnyk will get the start in net in Game 5 on Friday. It's not a huge surprise, however, as Dubnyk has been phenomenal since joining the Wild on Jan. 14, allowing more than three goals on just one occasion in his 42 starts with Minnesota over that span. Dubnyk simply wasn't himself in Game 4 on Wednesday, and will look to submit a bounce-back performance in Friday's Game 5.

Wild's Dubnyk Blown Up In Game 4 Defeat

News: Devan Dubnyk was beaten for six goals on 17 shot attempts in Wednesday's Game 4 loss to the Blues before he was pulled from the net with under four minutes remaining in the second period.
Analysis: Devan Dubnyk's incredible play since his Jan. 14 acquisition has been a captivating story line all season, but he picked an unfortunate time to submit his worst outing in a Wild uniform. The 28-year-old, who had allowed more than three goals just once his preceding 42 starts with Minnesota, is still clearly the team's No. 1 goalie, so don't expect coach Mike Yeo to overreact to Wednesday's dismal performance. He'll almost certainly be back in the crease when the Wild head to St. Louis for Friday's Game 5 with the series tied 2-2.

Wild's Dubnyk Gets Game 4 Nod

News: Devan Dubnyk will be in net for Wednesday's Game 4 against the Blues, KFAN Sports Radio FM 100.3 reports.
Analysis: Regardless of how well Devan Dubnyk performs over the remainder of the series, he's probably locked into the starting role from here on out. After delivering pedestrian performances in the first two games of the series, Dubnyk quelled any concerns with a stellar Game 3, during which he stopped all 17 shots he faced to earn his seventh overall shutout of the season.

Wild's Dubnyk Perfect In Win

News: Devan Dubnyk stopped all 17 shots in Monday's Game 3 win over the Blues.
Analysis: Devan Dubnyk wasn't tested heavily, but he withstood the attack to bounce back from a pair of so-so outings in Games 1 and 2. He may not need another shutout, but the Wild will likely need to lean on another strong performance out of Dubnyk in Game 4 in order to maintain the series lead before heading back to St. Louis.

Wild To Start Dubnyk For Game 3

News: Devan Dubnyk will be between the pipes for Monday's Game 3 against the Blues.
Analysis: Though he was able to get the win in his postseason debut and the series heads back to Minnesota tied at 1-1, Devan Dubnyk's recent play hasn't been nearly as stellar as we've become accustomed to seeing from him over the second half. Over his last three games against the Blues dating back to the regular-season finale, Dubnyk has stopped just 53 of the 61 shots (.868 save percentage) he's faced. Since he doesn't have an elite offense in front of him, the Wild will likely need Dubnyk to be sharp over the next few outings in order to steal the series.

Wild's Dubnyk Stops 23 In Loss

News: Devan Dubnyk made 23 saves in a 4-1 loss to the Blues. He allowed three goals.
Analysis: The score was incredibly close with the Blues holding a tenuous 2-1 lead until the 18:02 mark of the third when they potted their third. Double-D and the Wild head home for the next two games and the excitement in Minnesota should ratchet things up dramatically.

Wild's Dubnyk Set To Start Saturday

News: Devan Dubnyk will be between the pipes for Game 2 of the Wild's playoff series against the Blues, Anthony LaPanta of FOX Sports North reports.
Analysis: Devan Dubnyk played well in his first career NHL playoff game, turning away 19 of 21 shots en route to a 4-2 win. Minnesota will likely continue to lean on Dubnyk throughout their playoff run.

Dubnyk, Wild Carry Strong Play Into Postseason

News: In his first NHL playoff game, Devan Dubnyk made 19 saves on 21 shots Thursday to deliver a 4-2 Game 1 victory over the Blues.
Analysis: Thanks to a late scoring flurry that included two Minnesota empty-netters, Dubs actually gave up as many goals as opposing netminder Jake Allen, as Alex Steen scored the Blues' second goal against him shorthanded with 59 seconds remaining. After going 27-9-2 following his trade to Minnesota, Dubs is now 1-0 in the postseason.

Wild Roll With Dubnyk

News: Devan Dubnyk is slated to start Thursday's playoff opener against the Blues, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Since joining the Wild in mid-January, Devan Dubnyk has gone 27-9-2 with a 1.78 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage, so it comes as little surprise that he will man the team's net on Thursday. At this stage, it would take an injury for any other Minnesota goalie to draw a playoff start for the team.

Wild Pull Dubnyk From Saturday's Game

News: Devan Dubnyk was chased from the net Saturday after he gave up three goals on 14 St. Louis shots.
Analysis: The guy has been outstanding to this point, so his coach got him out of the blue paint to save his confidence as they head into the playoffs ... especially since they're about to line up against the Blues. He'll be ready to rock and roll come opening night. No worries.

Wild's Dubnyk Set To Start Saturday

News: Devan Dubnyk will make his next start during Saturday's regular season finale against the Blues, the Anthony LaPanta of FOX Sports North reports.
Analysis: Meanwhile, fellow goalie Darcy Kuemper is slated to start Thursday's game against the Preds, which will end Devan Dubnyk's string of 39 consecutive starts, including 38 turns in a row for the Wild. In that span, Dubnyk has compiled a 27-8-2 record, with a 1.73 GAA and .938 save percentage in a Minnesota uniform.

Dubnyk, Wild Secure Playoff Berth With Win

News: Devan Dubnyk stopped 32 of 33 shots as the Wild clinched a playoff spot with Tuesday's 2-1 win over Chicago. He'll likely sit out one of the final two regular-season games as a result, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Devan Dubnyk improved to an amazing 15-1-1 on the road with a 1.42 GAA. He'll likely sit out for Saturday's season-concluding game versus the Blues, as the Wild may be matched against St. Louis in the first round.
