Rangers' Yandle Played With Sprained AC Joint

News: Keith Yandle (shoulder) played with a sprained AC joint for much of the Rangers' playoff run, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.
Analysis: The injury didn't noticeably affect Keith Yandle's playing time or production during the playoffs, but the fact that New York was so banged up on the blue line (Ryan McDonagh, Marc Staal, and Dan Girardi also played through injuries) likely contributed to their demise in the Eastern Conference Finals. The injury shouldn't prevent Yandle from being back at full health when training camp commences in September.

Yandle Helps Rangers Force Game 7 Against Tampa

News: Keith Yandle scored his second goal of the playoffs and added a power-play assist Tuesday in a Game 6 victory against Tampa Bay.
Analysis: He's played his best hockey since joining the Rangers -- by far -- in the Eastern Conference finals against the Lightning. Over the first six games, Keith Yandle's racked up seven points and a plus-6 rating, as this series' fast-paced play has been right up his alley. The Rangers will be counting on Yandle to help drive their offense from the blue line in Game 7 on Friday.

Yandle Finally Breaks Through For Rangers

News: Keith Yandle scored his first goal of the playoffs and handed out two assists -- one on the power play -- in Friday's Game 4 victory over Tampa Bay.
Analysis: The goal was a lucky one -- he fired a shot that was headed well wide of Tampa goalie Ben Bishop, but ended up deflecting in off a Lightning defenseman and into the net. Nonetheless, it's a fitting reward for Keith Yandle's tremendously improved play over the last few games. He's got nine points in these playoffs now, with five of them (and a plus-4 rating) having come in the last two games.

Rangers' Yandle Adds Two Assists Wednesday

News: Keith Yandle racked up two assists in Wednesday's 6-5 OT loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: Keith Yandle hasn't been quite as productive as the Rangers hoped he would be when they acquired him from the Coyotes at the trade deadline, but his speed has been a key component of New York's dangerous blue line depth. He was one of the few bright spots defensively Wednesday night, finishing with a plus-2 rating to go along with his two points.

Rangers' Yandle Registers Assist, Five SOG In Win

News: Keith Yandle finished with an assist and a team-high five shots on goal in Friday's 3-2 Game 5 overtime victory over the Capitals.
Analysis: The Rangers were on the brink of elimination from the postseason late in the third period before Keith Yandle helped intervene, setting up Chris Kreider to knot the score at 1-1 with 1:41 remaining in regulation. Yandle picked a good time to generate just his third point of the postseason, but the Rangers may need more production out of the star blueliner in order to come back from a 3-2 series deficit.

Rangers' Yandle Returns To Practice

News: Keith Yandle (general soreness) resumed practicing Wednesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Keith Yandle has been held out of practices for the last week-plus, but it hasn't yet put his availability at risk for any of the Rangers' games. His involvement in Wednesday's session virtually ensures that he'll be good to go for Thursday's Game 1 against the Capitals. Yandle is expected to be joined on the third pairing by Kevin Klein, who is poised to play for the first time since breaking his arm March 11.

Rangers' Yandle Misses Practice

News: Keith Yandle (soreness) did not practice Tuesday.
Analysis: As Andrew Gross of the Record notes, Keith Yandle -- who is dealing with overall body soreness -- has not practiced or participated in a morning skate with the Rangers since April 18, when the blueliner absorbed a Blake Comeau body check. That said, Yandle hasn't missed any game action since then, with the Daily News relaying that the defender is slated to remain in the Rangers' lineup for Game 1 of the team's second-round playoff series.

Rangers' Yandle Gets Maintenance Day

News: Keith Yandle did not practice on Thursday, but is expected to dress in Friday's Game 5 against the Penguins, reports Pat Leonard of The Daily News.
Analysis: Just a day of rest for the team's most notable trade deadline acquisition. The veteran blueliner has tallied two points in four playoff games and 11 points in 21 total games with the Blueshirts.

Rangers' Yandle Set To Play Monday

News: Keith Yandle (illness) is slated to play Monday against the Penguins.
Analysis: Keith Yandle, who missed time in Saturday's contest, was not on the ice for Monday's morning skate, but he'll remain in the Rangers' lineup for Game 3 of the team's playoff series against Pittsburgh, which is knotted at 1-1.

Rangers' Yandle Misses Morning Skate

News: Keith Yandle (undisclosed) was not on the ice for Monday's morning skate, Andrew Gross of the Record reports.
Analysis: Though he returned to the game, Keith Yandle missed time in Saturday's loss to the Penguins after absorbing a Blake Comeau hit, so his absence from the team's morning skate is notable and thus clouds the blueliner's status for Monday's Game 3.

Rangers' Yandle Returns After Hit To Boards

News: Keith Yandle is back on the Rangers' bench after taking a hit to the boards in the first period, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Keith Yandle was hit into the boards by Blake Comeau in the first period and was not on the Rangers' bench for several minutes, but he has returned to the ice.

Rangers' Yandle: Eight Points In Last Eight Games

News: Keith Yandle scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Devils.
Analysis: He's finally getting his groove on in New York -- he now has eight points (one goal, seven assists) in his last eight games after scuffling through his first nine games with just a single point. Roll him.

Rangers' Yandle Getting Comfortable

News: Keith Yandle was a plus-2 with an assist in Thursday's 5-1 victory over the Senators.
Analysis: Keith Yandle also chipped in two penalty minutes to go along with his two shots on goal and two blocked shots. That's four points in the last three tilts for the team's prized deadline acquisition who seems to be getting comfortable in Manhattan.

Yandle Sets Career High In Rangers' Rout Of Ducks

News: Keith Yandle collected a career-high three assists in Sunday's rout of Anaheim
Analysis: Even Keith Yandle was surprised when a reported told him the three helpers -also his first as with the Rangers- we're a career best. One of the assists came on the power-play, which was the biggest inspiration for his acquisition. The 28-year-old blue liner now has four points in 10 games with the blue shirts, giving him a combined 45 points through 73 games this season.

Yandle Gets First Point As Ranger

News: Keith Yandle picked up his first point as a member of the Rangers in Saturday's win over the Sabres. He scored the game-winning goal.
Analysis: It's nice to get that monkey off his back -- it'd taken six games for him to get that point.

Yandle Makes Rangers Debut

News: Keith Yandle skated for 19:41, finishing with three shots and a minus-1 rating in Monday's 4-1 win over the Predators.
Analysis: Keith Yandle failed to get on the scoresheet, but he still chipped in to contribute to a win in his Ranger debut. He spent the majority of the game paired on the blueline with Kevin Klein, who he could continue to see time with going forward.

Rangers' Yandle Expected To Play Monday

News: Keith Yandle is expected to play Monday against the Predators, Jim Cerny of the Rangers' official site reports.
Analysis: Keith Yandle was part of a trade that occurred Sunday, moving with Chris Summers to the Rangers along with a fourth-round pick in exchange for John Moore, Antohny Dulcair, a first-round pick in 2016 and a second-round pick in 2015. The advantage of the Rangers being proactive and completing the trade Sunday is Yandle has received enough time to settle down with his new teammates in advance of Monday's game, making him a stronger candidate to play than those traded on the day of the game.

Rangers Trade For Yandle

News: The Rangers have acquired Keith Yandle, Chris Summers and a fourth-round draft pick in 2015 from the Coyotes in exchange for John Moore, Anthony Duclair, a first-round draft pick in 2016, and a second-round pick in 2015, ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The report adds that the Coyotes will retain 50 percent of Keith Yandle's salary as part of the deal. The 28-year-old blueliner, who currently leads the Coyotes with 41 points in 63 games, should provide a nice boost to the Rangers' power play, while the change of scenery should do wonders for Yandle's plus/minus rating, which stands at minus-32 to date.

Coyotes' Yandle Picks Up Assist In Loss

News: Keith Yandle picked up an assist Saturday, ending his pointless streak at six games, in a 4-1 loss against the Bruins. He took three shots and added two hits and a blocked shot.
Analysis: Keith Yandle is a candidate to be traded before Monday's trade deadline, if he lands with a contender he could see an uptick in his offensive performance with more talented teammates. Even if he doesn't get moved, he is on pace for more than 50 points for the third time in his career, something which only three other defensemen have done even twice in the past five years.

Coyotes' Yandle Sees Pointless Streak Continue

News: Keith Yandle was held off the scoresheet for the sixth straight game Thursday in a 4-3 loss to the Rangers. He was minus-1 with six shots, one hit, and three blocks on the night.
Analysis: Keith Yandle certainly did not help pump up his value for a potential trade, but the rest of the league knows what he brings to the table. Perhaps more concerning during his recent slump is that he is minus-9 in those six games. Not that his plus/minus is going to be the determining factor in whether he stays or goes, but he now has a league worst minus-32. That's just ugly.

Coyotes' Yandle Picks Up Helper In Loss

News: Keith Yandle picked up an assist on the power play Friday in a 4-2 loss to the Sharks. He was plus-1, took two shots, delivered two hits, and blocked a shot on the night.
Analysis: Keith Yandle is on fire right now with 10 points (all assists) in his last nine games. With seven of those points coming on the power play, Yandle is showcasing the kind of offensive skills that make him a desired commodity on the trade market, which ultimately may lead him to a contender's roster down the stretch.

Coyotes' Yandle Extends Streak In Win

News: Keith Yandle picked up an assist on the power play and took three shots on goal Monday in a 3-2 win over Chicago.
Analysis: The assist extends Keith Yandle's point streak to seven games, during which he has collected nine points (all assists). As the trade deadline looms, Yandle will be a prime target for contenders, which could put him in a favorable situation going forward; of course, he's having a fine season regardless, having tallied 39 points in 54 games.

Coyotes' Yandle Picks Up Another Assist

News: Keith Yandle picked up an assist on the Coyotes' lone goal Saturday in a loss to Detroit. He took two shots and blocked three on the night.
Analysis: Keith Yandle has a six-game point streak going in which he has racked up eight points (all assists). Oddly, Yandle hasn't scored in 2015 and has just four goals on the season, but his 34 assists rank eighth in the NHL and he should surpass the 50-point mark again this year. Yandle's name will be heavily featured in trade rumours as the deadline approaches with the Coyotes only competing for one of the top two draft picks.

Coyotes' Yandle Racking Up Power-Play Points

News: Keith Yandle picked up two power-play assists for the second consecutive game Tuesday in a 4-1 win over Columbus.
Analysis: He's got a four-game point streak and points in eight of nine (with five power-play assists in that span), and yet Keith Yandle remains without a goal since Dec. 23. That minus-23 rating takes a good amount of the shine off his point production, but he's still one of the better offensive defensemen around, as he's practically a lock to exceed 50 points for the third time in his career.

Coyotes' Yandle Gets Two Helpers In Win

News: Keith Yandle assisted on a pair of power play goals in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Canadiens.
Analysis: Keith Yandle has now recorded a point in seven of his last eight contests, and with Sunday's two-point effort he's at a point per game pace in that span. His numbers are still down from earlier in his career, but his 34 points are tied for eighth among defensemen.
