Wild's Stoner Has Second Assist

News: Clayton Stoner had an assist in Tuesday's win over Columbus.
Analysis: Clayton Stoner has two assists in his first six games. While it's possible his scoring could increase with the overall talent rise on the Wild, offense isn't his strong suit as he had just 14 points in 108 games the previous two seasons.

Analysis: It looks like he's ready to get regular ice time, but he's never put up viable fantasy numbers.

Minnesota's Stoner A Game-Time Decision

News: Clayton Stoner (hip) is a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Flames, the Wild's official site reports.
Analysis: Clayton Stoner has just three points in 39 games to date, with his 47 penalty minutes and plus-6 rating only of note in the deepest of formats.

Wild's Stoner Could Return Sunday

News: Clayton Stoner (hip) could return Sunday against Calgary, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

News: Clayton Stoner (hip) returned to practice Monday for the first time in a month, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

News: Clayton Stoner (hip) may be ready to return in two weeks, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Wild's Stoner Won't Play Tuesday Against Columbus

News: Clayton Stoner (lower body) will not play Tuesday against Columbus, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Stoner Out Saturday For Minnesota

News: Clayton Stoner (lower body) won't play against Dallas on Saturday, Wild.com reports.
Analysis: This was expected to be the case. Hopefully your team doesn't have a use for Clayton Stoner, anyway, as he has just three points (all assists) in 39 games this year.

Wild's Stoner Not Likely To Play Saturday

News: Wild coach Mike Yeo said Friday that if he had to guess, Clayton Stoner (lower body) won't play Saturday against Dallas, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Clayton Stoner has three points (assists) in 39 games this season, and 14 points in 104 career NHL games. He does, however, have 47 PIM and a plus-six rating this year. He is a valuable defenseman for Minnesota, but if he's on your fantasy team, it would be wise not to play him on Saturday.

Zebras Nab Stoner Often In Wild's Loss

News: Clayton Stoner was sent off for 11 penalty minutes in Saturday's shootout loss at St. Louis. He was whistled for fighting, unsportsmanlike conduct, slashing, and high-sticking.
Analysis: You'll note that none of those offenses are of the you-beat-me variety, such as holding, tripping, or hooking. Still, he's not a pure goon, logging 40 PIMs in 33 games this season. His paltry offense -- no goals and two assists all year -- means he probably isn't worth an active roster slot.

Minnesota Takes Stoner Off IR

News: Clayton Stoner (groin) was activated from IR on Friday, Wild.com reports.
Analysis: Clayton Stoner isn't likely to make a fantasy impact in the vast majority of scenarios, but it looks like he might be able to join the team, in any case, for Saturday's game against Calgary.

Wild Place Stoner On Injured Reserve

News: The Wild placed Clayton Stoner (groin) on injured reserve Tuesday, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.
Analysis: Clayton Stoner sat out Monday's game after suffering an injury last Thursday, so the Wild placed him on injured reserve to open up a roster spot for another defender. Given that Stoner's IR placement was backdated, he'll be eligible to return whenever he is cleared to resume playing.

Wild's Stoner Out With Groin Injury

News: Clayton Stoner (groin) did not play in Monday's loss to Colorado.
Analysis: He left Thursday's game with the injury and it's not a good sign he wasn't able to play after four days of rest.

Wild's Stoner Hurts Groin

News: Clayton Stoner left Thursday's loss to Edmonton in second period with a groin injury, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Wild's Stoner Returns From Finger Injury

News: Clayton Stoner returned from a finger injury and had two shots on goal in just under 16 minutes of ice time in Sunday's win over Anaheim.
Analysis: Clayton Stoner should get plenty of ice time with injuries to Marco Scandella and Greg Zanon. However, don't expect much production on offense.

News: Clayton Stoner (finger) will travel with the team on their nine-day road trip, Michael Russo's Twitter reports.
Analysis: Clayton Stoner is day-to-day while recovering from his finger injury. He has been able to practice as of late, so the Wild remain hopeful he can suit up at some point during the road stretch.

News: Clayton Stoner (finger) practiced Wednesday, Michael Russo reports.
