Ducks' Stoner Skates Tuesday Morning

News: Clayton Stoner (illness) took part in Tuesday's morning skate but doesn't think he'll be cleared to return until the weekend, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Merely being on the ice amounts to a good sign for Clayton Stoner, as it was feared that he had been the latest Ducks player to succumb to the debilitating mumps virus. Stoner's symptoms were believed to be similar to the virus, but team doctors determined his particular illness wasn't contagious after he never experienced a fever. He's still need to skate for a few days to get his conditioning back up to par before coach Bruce Boudreau decides whether or not to use him Friday versus the Blackhawks.

Ducks' Stoner (Illness) Out Sunday

News: Clayton Stoner (illness) will not play Sunday due to mumps-like symptoms.
Analysis: Clayton Stoner is not confirmed to have the mumps, but he's exhibiting symptoms and will be held out as a precaution. The defenseman registered a plus-2 rating against the Canucks on Thursday but remains in the negative overall this season (minus-4).

Ducks' Stoner Goes Minus-4 In Loss

News: Clayton Stoner took a minus-4 rating over his 18:19 of ice time in Sunday's loss to the Panthers.
Analysis: With no points in 18 games this season, Clayton Stoner offers very little utility when he takes this kind of plus/minus hit. He'll continue to enjoy a regular role with the Ducks, but his contributions in his own zone aren't easily quantified in most fantasy formats.

Ducks Ink Stoner

News: Clayton Stoner signed a four-year, $13 million deal with the Ducks on Tuesday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: With just one goal and four assists in 63 games with the Wild last season, Clayton Stoner doesn't bring much to the table offensively, but his 84 PIM show that he'll bring a physical presence to the Anaheim blue line.

Wild's Stoner Coming Back Sunday

News: Clayton Stoner (knee) will return Sunday against the Preds, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.
Analysis: The Wild reportedly want to see how Clayton Stoner's doing before the playoffs, so this doesn't necessarily guarantee that he'll be available for the start of the postseason. Initially expected to miss four-to-six weeks, Stoner will be playing in Sunday's game about three weeks after the injury occurred.

Wild's Stoner Stuck On Bench

News: Clayton Stoner was a healthy scratch in Tuesday's win over Tampa Bay.

Wild Place Stoner On IR

News: Clayton Stoner (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Friday.

Wild's Stoner Out Friday

News: Clayton Stoner (lower body) will not play Friday vs. the Jets, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Analysis: Clayton Stoner will remain at home in Minnesota and take more time to recover from the lower-body injury while his teammates play in Winnipeg. He hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's game at home against the Islanders, but he'll need to show some signs of progress over the next two days in order to receive clearance to return.

Wild's Stoner Out Monday

News: Clayton Stoner (lower body) is out Monday against the Flyers.
Analysis: With a sizable break in the schedule looming after Monday's game, the Wild won't take any chances of using Clayton Stoner after he sustained the injury in Sunday's contest. Nate Prosser will enter the lineup in Stoner's stead Monday.

Analysis: Clayton Stoner had played 9:16 of ice time in Sunday's game before leaving with a lower-body injury. Coach Mike Yeo did not note it as a serious injury and it seems that Stoner is most likely day-to-day with the ailment.

Wild's Stoner Will Play Wednesday

News: Clayton Stoner (leg) will be in the lineup Wednesday against the Maple Leafs, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Wild's Stoner Holding Off Dumba For Ice Time

News: Clayton Stoner had two blocks but no points in 15:37 of ice time in Thursday's shootout loss to the Kings.
Analysis: There was some talk in the presason that he could lose ice time to Matt Dumba if the top prospect made the NHL roster, but Dumba was a healthy scratch in the team's first game.
