Preds Go Back To The Well With Rinne

News: Pekka Rinne was the first goalie off the ice at Monday's skate and is expected to start against Columbus, according to Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean.
Analysis: With Sergei Bobrovsky expected to start for the Blue Jackets, this is one of the best goalie matchups you'll see in hockey. You're starting Pekka Rinne and his 21 wins, 1.87 GAA at pretty much every opportunity unless we can find a good reason to tell you otherwise.

Preds' Rinne Gives Up Five Goals, Still Wins

News: Pekka Rinne gave up five goals on 27 shots in Saturday's win over Minnesota.
Analysis: It wasn't a good night for Pekka Rinne, who was bailed out by Nashville's offense in the win. The 32-year-old has now won 11 of his past 14 games, never allowing more than three even-strength goals in any start this season. With a 21-6-1 record, to go with a .933 save percentage and 1.87 GAA, Rinne is simply one of the league's best. He's a must-start every game.

Preds Tap Rinne For 28th Start

News: Pekka Rinne was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and is set to start Saturday's game against the Wild, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne's performance has been pleasantly static this season -- he's been simply exceptional since Game 1. His minute 1.76 GAA and outstanding .937 save percentage trail only Michael Hutchinson among qualifiers, but Rinne has seen significantly more action of the two. He's a great option in any venue, even on the road against a tough Minnesota squad.

Preds' Rinne Outduels Countryman Tuesday

News: Pekka Rinne stopped 33 of 35 and all three in the shootout Tuesday in a 3-2 victory over Tuukka Rask and the Bruins.
Analysis: He and his countryman Rask dueled all the way to the end, at least until Rask gave up a first-round shootout goal. Pekka Rinne continues to build on his Vezina candidacy, as he's now posted nine straight games with a save mark of .906 or better (and .920 or better in eight of those games).

Preds Poised To Go With Rinne On Tuesday

News: Pekka Rinne was the first goalie off the ice at Tuesday's morning skate and is on track to start later in the evening against the Bruins, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne will make his 11th straight start as the Predators match up with Boston for the first time this season. The netminder has been consistently excellent throughout the campaign, submitting a save percentage below .900 in a game in just four of his 26 starts.

Preds' Rinne Makes 31 Saves In Losing Cause

News: Pekka Rinne made 31 saves Saturday, but it wasn't enough, as the Predators were blanked 2-0 by the Sharks.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne has been phenomenal lately, allowing only four goals over his last four starts. The 32-year-old is now 19-6-1 on the season with a league-leading .937 save percentage and 1.75 GAA. The early front-runner for the Vezina Trophy is a must-start every night he gets the call.

Preds' Rinne Projected To Start Saturday

News: Pekka Rinne is projected to start Saturday against the Sharks.
Analysis: One-third of the way through the season, Pekka Rinne has been the league's best goalie, owning a 19-5-1 record to supplement his magnificent ratios. Although a trip to the Shark Tank is daunting for just about any goalie, Rinne's success at just about every venue this season makes keeping him in your fantasy lineup a no-brainer.

Rinne, Preds Shut Down Arizona

News: Pekka Rinne shook off an early goal to make 31 stops in Thursday's 5-1 rout of the Coyotes.
Analysis: Antoine Vermette scored on a power play just 4:11 into the first period, but Pekka Rinne shut things down completely thereafter and watched his team light up Mike Smith for five goals. All he's done this year is win, and in impressive style, so there's no reason to have him anywhere but in your lineup whenever he's in the crease.

Preds' Rinne Will Start Thursday

News: Pekka Rinne will start against the Coyotes on Thursday, Eric Stromgren of the Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne was listed as the projected starter Thursday by the Predators, and that has now been confirmed to be the case. He carries a 19-5-1 record with a 1.81 GAA and .934 save percentage into the matchup.

Preds' Rinne Projected To Start Thursday

News: Pekka Rinne is projected to start Thursday's game against the Coyotes.
Analysis: The Predators didn't hold a morning skate, but all indications are that Pekka Rinne will enter the net for his 25th outing of the season. He might be the best goalie play on the board for Thursday's slate in a matchup against a Coyotes squad that has lost three games in a row by a combined 14-4 margin.

Preds' Rinne Shuts Out Avs

News: Pekka Rinne stopped all 26 shots -- with a little help from the pipes -- to deliver a 3-0 win Tuesday in Colorado.
Analysis: Sure, a couple Avs rang the metal, but those don't even count as shots on goal, so Pekka Rinne's not sweating 'em, and neither are his fantasy owners, who have been thoroughly enjoying the best numbers of Rinne's already fairly illustrious career.

Preds' Rinne To Make Tuesday Start

News: Pekka Rinne will be back in the net Tuesday versus the Avalanche, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne is in the midst of what has qualified as a skid for him this season, as he's taken losses in two of his last three games. However, it was actually in the victory that he posted his lowest save percentage (.906) of the three, seemingly providing little reason for his fantasy owners to become alarmed. He should make for a trusted option Tuesday versus the reeling Avalanche, who have lost three straight and will be without starting goalie Semyon Varlamov (groin).

Preds' Rinne Falls Victim To Red-Hot Blackhawks

News: Pekka Rinne gave up two goals on 30 shots in Saturday's loss to the Blackhawks.
Analysis: It was just Pekka Rinne's fifth loss of the season, as he is now 17-5-1 on the year. While Rinne has now dropped two of his last three starts, we wouldn't be worried, as he has allowed just two goals in each of those losses. With a .931 save percentage and 1.89 GAA on the season, Rinne remains one of the best fantasy goalies around.

Preds' Rinne To Start In Goal Saturday

News: Pekka Rinne led the Predators onto the ice for pregame warmups Saturday and will start in goal for their matchup against the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne has been red-hot of late, winning seven of his last eight starts and owning a 1.88 GAA on the season.

Preds' Rinne Ruins Party For Brodeur, Blues

News: Pekka Rinne spoiled Martin Brodeur's Blues debut Thursdaym making 29 saves on 32 shots for a 4-3 victory.
Analysis: It's not the greatest start for Pekka Rinne, but it's still good enough to start a new winning streak for the Finnish goalie after his six-game run of victories ended Tuesday against these same Blues.

Preds' Rinne Looking To Rebound From Loss

News: Pekka Rinne will be in the crease Thursday against the Blues, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne improbably saw his six-game winning streak come to an end against the lowly Hurricanes, but even in that rare misstep, he was still stellar, stopping 23 of 25 shots. The Blues represent a significant upgrade in competition, but until he struggles over a prolonged period, Rinne is worth rolling against any opponent.

Preds' Rinne Sees Winning Streak End

News: Pekka Rinne stopped 23 of 25 shots, but was stuck with a 2-1 loss Tuesday in Carolina, ending his six-game winning streak.
Analysis: Despite ending the streak, Pekka Rinne clearly didn't play poorly, but rather was the victim of Nashville's offense going to sleep again.

Preds' Rinne Takes Aim At 17th Win

News: Pekka Rinne was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and is in line to start Tuesday against the Hurricanes, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Incredibly, Pekka Rinne followed up a spectacular October with an even better November. He reeled off six wins in a row to bring his record to 10-1-0 over the month, during which he provided a 1.70 GAA and .938 save percentage. He's quite easily the best fantasy goalie option at the moment.

Preds' Rinne: 21 Saves For Win

News: Pekka Rinne made 21 saves in a 2-1 win over Columbus on Saturday night.
Analysis: He wasn't tested much, particularly given the disproportionate tally of shots (his mates fired 42 at the Jackets' net). Regardless, he's one of the league's best twinetenders. Deploy him accordingly.

Predators' Rinne Gets The Nod Saturday

News: Pekka Rinne will start Saturday against the Blue Jackets, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' website reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne has an excellent matchup Saturday, as he will take on a Columbus team that gives up the most goals and also owns the fewest points in the league. Rinne has been on a roll the last few weeks, losing just once in the month of November.

Preds' Rinne Shuts Out Oilers

News: Pekka Rinne denied all 37 shots he faced Thursday against the Oilers en route to his second shutout of the season.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne worked overtime to secure his league-leading 15th victory in what represented one of his best efforts of what has been a sensational season. The most critical of the 37 saves he made was a denial on a Jordan Eberle penalty shot in the extra period, preventing the Oilers from claiming a walk-off victory. Now healthy after battling a hip infection for most of last season, Rinne has turned the Predators from Western Conference also-ran into one of the top teams in the NHL.

Preds' Rinne To Get Start Thursday

News: Pekka Rinne will receive the start in goal Thursday against the Oilers, Jack Michaels of the Oilers Radio Network reports.
Analysis: The matchup is about as cushy as it gets for Pekka Rinne, as the Oilers have dropped seven games in a row to tie the Sabres for the league's worst record. Rinne has been steamrolling just about every opponent this season, so expect him to have little trouble dispatching the feeble Oilers on his own ice.

Preds' Rinne Picks Up Shootout Win

News: Pekka Rinne saved just 18 of 21 shots Tuesday, but was perfect in a six-round shootout to deliver a win over the Kings.
Analysis: Not Pekka Rinne's greatest statistical outing, but he locked things down when it really counted. Rinne has now won four straight starts and eight of his last nine.

Preds' Rinne To Man Net Tuesday

News: Pekka Rinne was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and is in line to start Tuesday against the Kings, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne is expected to square off against Kings backup Martin Jones in the first matchup between the two teams this season. The netminder has historically struggled against Los Angeles (7-6-1, 2.72 GAA, .897 save percentage), but his outstanding production this season should allow Rinne's fantasy owners to overlook that.

Preds Expected To Start Rinne On Saturday

News: Pekka Rinne is expected to be the starter in net for Saturday's game against the Panthers.
Analysis: After backup Carter Hutton got the starting nod Thursday against Ottawa, it would be a monumental surprise if Pekka Rinne wasn't in the net Saturday night. A winner of six of his last seven games, Rinne is expected to match up against the Panthers' Roberto Luongo.
