Preds' Rinne Will Start Saturday

News: Pekka Rinne will make his final start of the season on Saturday, Jim Diamond of Rinksidereport.com reports.
Analysis: Coach Barry Trotz announced Pekka Rinne will start on Saturday and Carter Hutton will start on Sunday. With Saturday being his last opportunity in net this season, Rinne will look to close the season on a hot streak, as he has recorded over a .900 save percentage in each of his last three starts.

Preds' Rinne Faces 29, Stops 29

News: Pekka Rinne stopped all 29 shots the Coyotes sent his way in Thursday's 2-0 victory.
Analysis: A sparkling performance by Pekka Rinne, who's actually been quite excellent in three consecutive outings, posting save marks of .931 and .933 in the two games prior to Thursday's shutout. It's been a tough year for Rinne, who's started just 23 games due to a hip injury, but he's ending it on a high note.

Preds Going With Rinne On Thursday

News: Pekka Rinne will be in the net Thursday against the Coyotes, Willy Daunic of 102.5 The Game reports.
Analysis: Though the Predators have been eliminated from the playoff race for a while now, Pekka Rinne will get the chance to play spoiler against the Coyotes, who are competing with the Stars for the last spot out West. Rinne has rebounded from an awful showing two weeks ago in which he allowed seven goals to the Avalanche, surrendering just two goals apiece in his last two turns.

Preds Likely To Go With Rinne On Tuesday

News: Pekka Rinne is expected to start Tuesday's game against the Stars, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne, who gave way to Carter Hutton on Saturday, is thus in line to return to the Preds' net Tuesday against the Stars, who rocked him for seven goals on 29 shots on March 28.

Preds' Rinne Stops 28, Loses In Shootout

News: Pekka Rinne made 28 saves on 30 shots Tuesday in Dallas, but was stuck with a shootout loss.
Analysis: Though Pekka Rinne's lost five of his last seven decisions, he's played very well over the last two games, posting .931 and .933 save marks. Even with a strong finish, Rinne's draft stock for next year will probably be as low as you'll ever see it; don't sleep on him.

Preds Will Start Rinne On Tuesday

News: Pekka Rinne will start Tuesday against the Stars, Willy Daunic of 102.5 The Game reports.
Analysis: After receiving the night off the last time out against the Sharks, Pekka Rinne returns the net Tuesday in search of his ninth win in 22 appearances this season.

Preds' Rinne Saves 27 During Win Friday

News: Pekka Rinne stopped 27 of 29 shots to defeat the Ducks 5-2 on Friday.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne rebounded nicely after allowing seven goals in his previous game and 11 over his last two. He was spotted a 3-0 lead in the first period which always helps, but he did a good job keeping a usually tough Anaheim offense at bay most of the night. He is now 8-10-2 on the year with a 2.84 GAA and .900 save percentage.

Predators' Rinne Gets The Nod Friday

News: Pekka Rinne will be the starting goaltender in Friday's game against the Ducks, Josh Cooper of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne will attempt to get back on track after being lit up for seven goals his last time out, but that will be a challenge Friday against a Ducks squad that leads the league with 3.22 goals per game.

Preds' Rinne Gives Up Seven In Loss Friday

News: Pekka Rinne stopped just 22 of 29 shots during the Predators' 7-3 loss to the Stars on Friday.
Analysis: Two of the Stars early goals came on deflections off of Pekka Rinne's own teammates and a third came on a deflection he was screened on and had almost no chance at saving. That was at least the explanation Predators coach Barry Trotz gave for leaving his netminder in for the rest of the beating. Rinne has now allowed 20 goals in his last five games but still has a fairly respectable 2.89 GAA over 20 games this season.

Preds' Rinne Starting Friday

News: Pekka Rinne led the Predators onto the ice for pregame warmups and thus figures to start Friday's game against the Stars, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne has allowed four goals or more in four of his last five games, but the other outing was a 29-save shutout against the Blackhawks. He's struggled since returning from a hip injury in early March, yet it's still tough to justify benching a player with Rinne's impressive track record.

Preds' Rinne Allows Four, Loses In Shootout

News: Pekka Rinne gave up four goals on 28 shots and was defeated in the shootout by the Avalanche on Tuesday.
Analysis: After he gave his fantasy owners hope with a 29-save shutout of the Blackhawks on Sunday, Pekka Rinne went right back to struggling in this one; that blanking is the only time in the last five games that Rinne's given up fewer than four goals.

Preds Will Start Rinne On Tuesday

News: Pekka Rinne will start in goal Tuesday against the Avalanche, The Predatorial's Kristopher Martel reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne turned in perhaps his best outing of the season his last time out Sunday against the Blackhawks, stopping all 29 shots he faced to notch his first shutout of the 2013-14 campaign. He'll look for similar results against another Western Conference power in the Avalanche.

Predators' Rinne Blanks Blackhawks

News: Pekka Rinne turned aside all 29 shots he face in a shutout win over the Blackhawks on Sunday.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne has not enjoyed much success since returning from his injury March 4. He only has three wins in nine appearances, and his numbers overall have been disappointing.

Preds Go With Rinne On Sunday

News: Pekka Rinne will start Sunday's game against the Blackhawks, Chris Kuc of ESPN Chicago reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne, who was pulled from Friday's game against the Flames, will have an opportunity to bounce back Sunday, as he squares off against Chicago's Corey Crawford.

Preds' Rinne Yanked In Second Period Friday

News: Pekka Rinne stopped just 14 of 18 shots and was pulled from the game midway through the Predators' 6-5 win over the Flames on Friday.
Analysis: The Predators had gone up 3-1 early in the second period before Pekka Rinne gave up two quick goals that tied the game. Nashville regained the lead soon after, but Rinne gave that one back again just before getting pulled from the game. He is now 6-9-1 with a 2.75 GAA and .904 save percentage over 17 appearances this season.

Preds' Rinne Starting Friday

News: Pekka Rinne was first off the ice at morning skate and is expected to start Friday's game against Calgary, Josh Cooper of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne has allowed nine goals over his last two starts, after surrendering just 11 in his first five games back from the hip injury. Things seem to be fine from a health perspective, so a return to form may be coming Friday.

Preds' Rinne Allows Five In Loss

News: Pekka Rinne gave up five goals on 26 shots and was pulled from the game Tuesday against Edmonton.
Analysis: An awful outing for Pekka Rinne, who's been lit up for nine goals in his last two games and generally hasn't been able to get his once-spectacular game on track. After a .910 save mark last year, he's been even worse when healthy this year, and it's beginning to feel like his days of dominance are over. Of course, that might just make him a better value in next season's drafts.

Preds Expected To Start Rinne On Tuesday

News: Pekka Rinne was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and is expected to receive the starting nod Tuesday vs. the Oilers, Josh Cooper of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne has been quite good both before and after missing multiple months with the hip infection, as he's compiled a 2.39 GAA and .915 save percentage in 15 appearances. However, a lack of offensive support has saddled him with a 6-8-1 record despite his impressive ratios. At least a weak Edmonton squad that surrenders tons of shots on goal should set Rinne up for a good chance at picking up a victory.

Preds' Rinne: 22 Saves In Loss

News: Pekka Rinne made 22 saves in a 4-1 loss to the Blues on Saturday night.
Analysis: He had won the previous two games, but is 2-5 in seven starts since his return from injury. Not so funny thing? His teammates have scored just three goals in those five losses. He's fine, now if only his mates could find twine.

Preds' Rinne Starting Again Saturday

News: Pekka Rinne led the Predators onto the ice for pregame warmups and thus figures to start Saturday's game against the Blues, Josh Cooper of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: With the Predators clinging to a shred of postseason hope, Pekka Rinne will start the second game of a back-to-back, after beating the Blackhawks by a score of 3-2 on Friday. His hip has held up just fine, so far.

Preds' Rinne Wins Second Straight

News: Pekka Rinne stopped 31 of 33 shots as the Predators beat the Blackhawks 3-2 on Friday.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne lost his first three starts since coming off injured reserve March 4, but has now won his last two and given up a total of 11 goals in the five games he's played since returning. He is currently 5-7-1 with a 2.29 GAA and .918 save percentage.

Preds' Rinne Expected To Start Friday

News: Pekka Rinne was the first goalie off the ice Friday and is expected to start against the Blackhawks, Josh Cooper of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Pekka Rinne notched the win Monday against the Senators, marking his first victory since returning from injured reserve Mar. 4. He's been generally effective in goal despite a lack of offensive support from his mates, who will be hard-pressed to match up with the firepower Chicago brings to the table.

Predators' Rinne Stops 34 In Win

News: Pekka Rinne made 34 saves on 37 shots in an overtime win against the Senators on Monday.
Analysis: This is Pekka Rinne's first win in four starts since returning from his long-term injury. If he remains healthy, he should be able to give your fantasy team a late-season boost.

Preds To Start Rinne On Monday

News: Pekka Rinne will be in goal Monday against the Senators, John Glennon of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Though Pekka Rinne has taken three consecutive losses since returning from injured reserve last Tuesday, he's been very solid in his last two turns, holding the Blues and Blue Jackets to two and one goals, respectively. He'll receive his a rest Tuesday against the Sabres, with backup Carter Hutton already confirmed as the starter for that contest.

Preds' Rinne Allows Just One Goal Yet Loses

News: Pekka Rinne made 35 saves in a 1-0 loss to Columbus on Saturday night. It was his third consecutive start since returning from injury.
Analysis: He looked strong, but he can't do it all -- someone from that team needs to look up 'goal' on Wikipedia. Pekka Rinne will give you GAA and save percentage support, but wins may continue to be hard to find.
